Die Anlagerung der Alkylenoxide, insbesondere Propylen- und/oder Ethylenoxid wird mittels basischer Katalysatoren bei Temperaturen von 90 0O bis 130 0CJ und Drücken von 0,5 atü bisProcesses for the preparation of polyether alcohols by polymerization of alkylene oxides with themselves or by addition of these alkylene oxides to starter substances with active hydrogen atoms are known. The starting substances and the type, sequence and amount of the alkylene oxides to be added are selected according to the intended use of the polyether alcohols. For the preparation of rigid polyurethanes are preferably tri- or higher functional starter substances such as aliphatic or aromatic alcohols .vorzugsweise trimethylolpropane, glycerol, pentaerythritol, phenols and / or higher functional sugar alcohols such as sorbitol, mannitol, xylitol and saccharides such as sucrose, maltose, glucose and their glycosides used. Therefore, mainly sugar alcohols, saccharides and glycosides, but also intermediates of the starch and cellulose industries such as dextrins and soluble starch are used as starter substance for the addition of alkylene oxides. Under the above-mentioned conditions of polyether alcohol production by anionic reaction mechanism, there are a number of known methods to solve the problem of the miscibility of the solid starting substances with a melting point> 130 0 C * Since poorly stirrable mixtures of sucrose and the basic catalyst often lead to caramelization or charring reactions, adjuvants are used which allow the reaction to start at standard temperatures of 90 0 O to 130 0 C. Both inert solvents such as toluene or dimethyl sulfoxide and functional compounds such as water, glycols or higher-functional alcohols are used as auxiliaries. When alkylene oxides are added to sugar alcohols, saccharides or glycosides which are present in aqueous solution or in admixture with glycols, undesired side reactions such as the hydrolysis of the alkylene oxide, instead. In addition, a high proportion of bifunctional products lowers the average functionality of the polyether alcohols in such a way that a strong deterioration of the polyurethanes produced therefrom occurs. The use of inert solvents also brings significant additional technological expenditure, because usually by the relatively poor solubility of solid starter substances large solvent surplus must be used and removed completely in the course of polyether alcohol preparation or cleaning again. The likewise known use of tri- or higher-functional solvents has the disadvantage that either a large excess must be used and thus the average functionality and further properties of the polyether alcohol deteriorate greatly or starter substance mixtures are present, the
At the reaction temperatures of 90 ° 0 to I30 0 C have a pulpy consistency and proper stirrability and the production of polyether alcohols with good space-time yields in conventional reactors is not possible. This results in the course of very lengthy syntheses to decomposition phenomena and formation of by-products, which lead to deterioration in the quality of the resulting polyether alcohols ·
The aim of the invention is to develop an economical process for the preparation of a homogeneous, liquid prepolymer based on solid starting substances for the preparation of hard foam polyether alcohols.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that a heterogenous starting substance mixture consisting of oligosaccharides, optionally polysaccharides and coinitiators, in the presence of basic AIkoxylierungskatalysatoren at temperatures of 90 0 C to 120 0 C in a period of 1 h to 10 h before Alkoxylation is thermally pretreated and then liquefied with a partial amount of alkylene oxide. To support the thermal pretreatment, it is possible to bring the individual constituents of the heterogeneous starting substance mixture without the basic Alkoxylierungskatalysator at temperatures up to I30 0 C, preferably 90 0 C to 120. 0 C by intensive compaction until optimal mutual solubility in contact. In the thermal pretreatment according to the invention, the sucrose is activated in the presence of the coinitiator and the catalyst for the subsequent alkoxylation and the solution associated therewith in such a way that it succeeds, after addition

Damit tritt eine erhebliche Steigerung der Lösungsgeschwindigkeit auf.from 10% to 30 % of the total amount of alkylene oxide necessary for the preparation of polyether alcohols in the hydroxyl value range from 200 mg KOH / g to 1000 mg KOH / g, preferably 400 mg KOH / g to 600 mg KOH / g, a homogeneous to produce liquid prepolymer. The reactions taking place during the thermal pretreatment give particularly activated starting substance molecules (alcoholate formation) for the anionically catalyzed polymerization, which react with the alkylene oxide in a higher reaction rate. This results in a significant increase in the dissolution rate.
As solid starter substances are oligosaccharides and optionally polysaccharides having a melting point> 120 0 C, preferably disaccharides, in particular sucrose used. As a constituent of the mixture, OH and / or NH- or NHp-group-containing coinitiators, in particular higher-functional alcohols such as glycerol and trimethylolpropane in the ratio of solid starting substance to coinitiator of 1 s 0.5 to 1: 4 are used.
Die Verwendung einer größeren Glyzerinmenge (Molverhältnis überThis ratio results from the desired properties of the polyether alcohol for further processing in polyurethane systems, the prevention of undesirable side reactions and the preparation of polyether alcohols in circulation reactors. It is known that glycerol at a molar ratio of sucrose t glycerol of 1 s 4.2, the mixed sucrose at a temperature of 120 0 C completely dissolves. When using a larger amount of sucrose this does not dissolve during the subsequent alkoxylation, but it remains until the end of the reaction to polyether alcohols in the desired hydroxyl number range, a solids content in the mixture. The fate of this undissolved portion of sucrose during the alkoxylation brings problems in terms of reaction control, mixing and thus the reaction time. The solid, undissolved sucrose component is greatly damaged during the entire reaction time in the presence of catalyst and alkylene oxide by side reactions such as caramelization, formation of saccharic acids and aldehydes and Umglykosidierung, so that a polyether alcohol of inferior quality. The use of a larger amount of glycerol (molar ratio over

To carry out the method according to the Invention of the thermal pretreatment and the subsequent alkoxylation are used as basic catalysts alkali or alkaline earth metal hydroxides, alkaline earth hydrides or, alkoxides and / or amines and in an amount of 0.1 % to 1.0% based on the Ready Polyetheralkoholmenge used.
The homogeneous, liquid prepolymer is reacted with the remaining alkylene oxide from 70 % to 90 % of the total amount at temperatures of 90 0 C to 120 0 C and pressures of 0.1 LIPa to 1.0 MPa to polyether alcohols.
The inventive method has the advantage that a homogeneous, liquid prepolymer is formed by the thermal treatment and the addition of AlkylenOiiden in subsets, which is reacted under very favorable space-time yields in existing reactors with product cycle.
