Thermoplastic polyurethanes suitable for injection molding and extrusion processes.
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen Lösungen Characteristics of the known technical solutions
"If it is not technically possible to precisely observe the given processing parameters, especially with regard to the temperature control in the machine, then it happens Difficulties in the form of excessively long shot and hold times, poor flow properties and inadequate mold filling. The processing range is a maximum of 5 0 C, As the processing temperature is increased, decomposition of the thermoplastic polyurethane occurs. If it is lowered, the product does not melt completely and inhomogeneities in the molded parts result. In any case, this results in a sharp drop in physical-mechanical properties. According to BRD-OS 2 24-8 382, a multi-stage process for the production of thermoplastic is used -
In this case, diisocyanate combinations or β polyol mixtures of different structure are used. According to BRD-AS 1 720 843, a mixture of polyester, hydroxy polyalkylene oxide and aliphatic diol is reacted with arylene diisocyanate in specific molar amounts. These two known methods have the disadvantage that the preparation of the thermoplastic polyurethanes is carried out by economically complex multi-stage process, whereby it is necessary to carry out the production of these thermoplastic polyurethanes strictly to be followed, different types of different types of polyurethane producers ο These methods are time - and costly and v-obtain special raw materials. The thermoplastic polyurethanes produced by these processes can therefore only be used as special products. According to BRD AS 1 242 359, the use of polyolefin mixtures for improving the flow behavior and the deformability of thermoplastic polyurethanes is known. The polyolefins are used before, during or after the polyaddition of Although this known process is relatively simple, certain polyolefin types of prescribed molecular weight must be used as a mixture. The disadvantage here is that the addition of more than 1 wt .-% of the physical-mechanical parameters, in particular the hardness of the thermoplastic polyurethanes, adversely affected When adding small amounts of polyolefin mixtures in turn then the effect of expanding the processing · range under practical conditions not or hardly given »

The invention has for its object to develop thermoplastic polyurethanes, which guarantee by extension of the Schmelsbereiches improved processability of the granules on commercial processing machines, with consistent or »improved physical and mechanical properties, in particular the hardness.
For these granule mixtures known thermoplastic polyurethanes are suitable as components whose hard segment shares vary between 1: 1.5 to 1: 3 »O, wherein the thermoplastic polyurethane with the lower hard segment share with the higher Hartsegmentanteil in an amount between 10 and 30 %, preferably between 15 and 25 %, based on the thermoplastic polyurethane with the higher proportion of hard segment, is added. The mixtures are adjusted to known Y / eise in commercial granular mixers either at the producer of thermoplastic polyurethanes or only at the processor directly. In the latter case, it is possible to adjust the mixture to the specific needs of the machine park and the molding characteristics (large-volume parts, complicated shape design, etc.) * It is also possible, the thermoplastic polyurethane granules mixture before the actual processing by means of a thermal conversion process, (Extrusion) in a uniform granules, which is then processed elsewhere and at a later date by known technology o Surprisingly, it has been found that in the processing of a mixture of two thermoplastic polyurethanes, the

Das bedeutet, daß bei gleicher Extrusionstemperatur die Schmelze des erfindungsgemäßen thermoplastischen Polyurethans dünnflüssiger ist, oder mit anderen V/orten gesagt, das erfindungsgemäße thermoplastische Polyurethan bereits bei niedriger Temperatur extrudiert werden kann·differ in their Hartsegrnentan part, a broadening of the processing range by 10 G occurs, wherein the hardness of the mixed product contrary to expectations does not deviate significantly from that of the harder used thermal polyurethane. If, for example, a thermoplastic polyurethane of hardness Shore A 95 has a processing range of 220 to 225 ° C., then a mixture of this thermoplastic polyurethane with 20 % of a thermoplastic polyurethane of hardness Shore A 80 has a processing range of 210 to 225 0 O with a hardness Shore A 94 "The advantage of the thermoplastic polyurethane according to the invention is also evident in processing experiments in the Göttter Sxtrusiometer: at the same extrusion temperature. (220 ° C), the starting product, a pressure of 120 bar, while the thermoplastic polyurethane of the invention can be extruded at 70 bar. This means that at the same extrusion temperature, the melt of the thermoplastic polyurethane of the invention is less viscous, or said in other words, the thermoplastic polyurethane according to the invention can be extruded even at low temperature ·
