Anordnung zur Abtastung farbiger graphischer VorlagenArrangement for scanning colored graphic templates
The invention relates to an arrangement for the optoelectronic scanning of documents in the remitted or transmitted light for the recognition of graphic information in black and white and in selected colors. This arrangement is used in character recognition and image processing ζ. In the scanning of prints, drawings, films and textiles.
Die Ausgangssignale aller Sensorbauelemente stellen dann in ihrer Ge-It has long been known to photo-scan black-and-white information and to distinguish from each other by their amplitude values. For colored information, similar sensor components are assigned to selected colors. Through different, superior, monochromatic filters, the sensors are sensitive only to certain color components. The output signals of all sensor components are then displayed in their

According to the description of the invention DE-OS 2559633, the optical image of the colored information takes place on the sensors using the diffused light. In the description of the invention GB 1378422, the optical imaging is realized via light guides or according to the invention descriptions US 3210552 and DE-OS 2446923 via beam splitting. It is evident that in these solutions, the expense of color scanning is unacceptably high because multiple color channels are required with the appropriate equipment.
There are still known solutions that get along with a Bildsehsor. As is apparent from the invention description DE-AS 2542254, such an arrangement contains a color stripe filter in the optical beam path. This ensures that narrow segments of the sensor surface are different color selective sensitive. However, the resolution limited by the stripe width, especially that of the color information, does not reach the values as in the multi-sensor scan. In the document DE-OS 2363752 the extraction of color value signals from black and white signals is described with a picture tube. The output from the receiver, dependent on the brightness of the analog signal is divided by threshold elements into several levels, which saturated or saturable adjustable colors are arbitrarily assigned.
This arrangement allows only the color evaluation of existing grays. It is not suitable for color recognition of colored originals and their correct assignment in processing channels.

- 3 - Ziel der Erfindung - 3 - Object of the invention
. .- For the scanning of flat originals with graphic information in black and white and in selected colors, a device is to be created which achieves a high color resolving power with little outlay on components and permits a unambiguous color assignment in the evaluation. , .-
The invention has for its object to enable the color detection for 'selected colors with little effort.
According to the invention, the object is in an arrangement for the optoelectronic scanning of planar documents with colored graphic information in the remitted or transmitted light, the lighting device and on the receiver side a. photoelectric conversion unit, and subsequently comprising a diode amplifier and a quantization stage, arranged as a photoelectric conversion unit, an image sensor with a wavelength dependent on the light sensitivity for scanning information in selected colors with high saturation and that the quantization of the same number of Threshold levels consists of how different, selected colors plus white are present on the template. It proves to be advantageous that the sensor has a nearly linear dependence of the sensitivity on the wavelength of the light in the visible range of the light.

In addition, in the beam path from the light source to the photoelectric converter, a broadband optical filter having a bandwidth in the range of the selected wavelengths of light can be arranged, which may also be contained in the original itself. Instead of the arrangement of a broadband optical filter, it is also possible to use as the light source one having a frequency spectrum in the range of the selected wavelength.
The output of the image sensor used is predominantly a function of the wavelength of the light. In addition, a dependence on the illuminance may be present. Since the graphic information to be scanned has a high degree of saturation in black and white and in the selected colors, the dependence on the wavelength is dominant and the evaluation of the colors is made possible. The selected colors are assigned to each other disjoint 'amplitude ranges of the video signal. The highest amplitude range is occupied by white and the lowest by black. Even after the quantization of the video signal z. For example, in digital signals, the information about the original colors is retained since an amplitude range is one-to-one quantization value.
The most important advantage of the invention, in addition to the one-to-one color assignment, the low cost of components and the achievable high color resolution. Templates with colored information and markings in black and white can be scanned in remitted or translucent light.

The image sensor 4 is implemented in semiconductor technology with silicon as the base material. FIG. 3 shows an enlarged original 1 with graphic information on a white background 10. Hierdurch erfolgtThe original 1 is illuminated by the light source 2. From the lens 3, a section of the original 1 is focused on the cell-shaped image sensor 4 sharp. Since the sensor is also highly sensitive in the infrared range, as can be seen from FIG. 2, the irrelevant infrared components remitted in part by the original 1 are already filtered out in the illumination by an infrared filter 8. eine Beschränkung auf den sichtbaren Bereich des Lichtes, in dem die Spektralkennlinie nach Fig, 2 nahezu linear ist. Als Schwellwertstufen können drei Schwellwertschalter mit unterschiedlichen Schwellwerten parallel zueinan-a restriction to the visible range of the light, in which the spectral characteristic according to FIG. 2 is almost linear. The infrared filter 8 is not essential to the function of the arrangement. The restriction to a certain range of the light can also cause the light source 2 or the template 1 itself or omitted altogether. In the image sensor 4, the conversion of the optical information into an electrical signal, which is amplified by the video amplifier 6 takes place. A strip 14 to be scanned may be transverse to the lines 11, 12, 13. FIG. 4 shows the video signal 24 obtained from the strip 14 at the output of the video amplifier 6. The video signal 24 generated by the white background 10 adjusts itself in a 100 % assigned amplitude range 20. The black line 11, on the other hand, reduces the radiation least and produces a signal in the O-amplitude range 21. For the colored line 12, an amplitude results in the range 22 and for the colored line 13 an amplitude in the range 23. Since the colors have different wavelengths are, they are assigned due to the spectral characteristic of the image sensor different amplitude ranges. The areas 25 represent security areas in which no color signal may occur. This is achieved by the high degree of saturation of the colored graphic information. The video signal 24 thus obtained is converted by the A / D converter 7 into a binary signal, which is assigned to the respective color channel and is available for further processing. The A / D converter 7 consists of three threshold levels, which respond as soon as the respective voltage or current amplitude range 23, 22 or 20 is reached. As threshold levels, three threshold value switches with different threshold values can be connected in parallel with each other.
