Dosavadní stav technikyCurrent state of the art
The current state of knowledge in the field of thermal processing of alternative materials and biomaterials based on the principle of pyrolysis, torrefaction and gasification is at a good level. These technologies are relatively well known and are operated in industrial production as well as experimental operations.
In general, the technology of torrefaction and material pyrolysis, which is the thermal processing of the input material in an inert atmosphere, i.e. heating the material without access to air, can be divided into three basic types according to the temperature of the process - low-temperature pyrolysis, also called torrefaction (roasting), medium-temperature pyrolysis and high-temperature pyrolysis. Each of these process types is designed to produce three fractions. Depending on the process temperature, it is then possible to obtain gas, liquid and solid fractions in different proportions.
Existují způsoby vedení procesu a ovlivnění vlastností produktů změnou teploty procesu, dobou zdržení materiálu v torefakčním a pyrolýzním zařízení, využitím konkrétního druhu vstupní suroviny o známém složení.Procedures are known for conducting the process in order to obtain output products - gaseous, liquid and solid fractions through the aforementioned processes. The quantity, quality and composition of output products can be influenced by the management of the process. There are ways of managing the process and influencing the properties of the products by changing the process temperature, the residence time of the material in the torrefaction and pyrolysis equipment, using a specific type of input raw material with a known composition.
In the field of construction and technology, there are known devices with different types of reactor with a stationary layer (batch), continuous (continuous), where the input material is fed into the technology, where there is continuous processing and, at the same time, continuous production of products over time. Different types of involvement in the technological process are also known, where reservoirs and hoppers and dosing devices are installed before the very entry into the technology, on the contrary, after the exit from the technology, filter and separation columns and reservoirs for storing gaseous, liquid and solid products follow. From a structural point of view, it is always a device that consists of several main parts: 1. part is a hopper and reservoir part - the material is stored here and transported to the action part itself, where the pyrolysis torrefaction process takes place; The 2nd part is therefore the reactor itself, whether batch, gravity, with forced displacement using a grate or auger, heated electrically, by flame, or by flue gas; and the 3rd part of the technology is the output part behind the reactor, where the solid residue and gas are separated, aftercooling and liquefaction of part of the gas in order to obtain a liquid fraction and possible further filtration of these products.
Uvedený způsob výroby zahrnuje krok přípravy dřevěné štěpky, krok torefakce dřevěné štěpky v bezkyslíkové atmosféře, krok mletí torifikované dřevěné štěpky na práškovou formu, krok formování směsi práškové torifikované dřevěné štěpky, pojiva, roztoku nanokatalyzátorů a dalších aditiv do pelet a krok karbonizace pelet. V torefakčním reaktoru v kroku torefakce vzniká při teplotě 180 až 400 °C a tlaku 0 až -0,1 kPa torefakční plyn, který je veden do karbonizačníhoInternational patent application WO 2017217573 A1 describes a production method and equipment for the production of carbonized pellets with a high carbon content and high calorific value. Carbonization is a type of pyrolysis that mainly leaves a residue with a high carbon content. Said production method includes the step of preparing wood chips, the step of torrefaction of wood chips in an oxygen-free atmosphere, the step of grinding the torified wood chips into a powder form, the step of forming a mixture of powdered torified wood chips, binders, nanocatalyst solution and other pellet additives, and the step of carbonizing the pellets. In the torrefaction reactor, during the torrefaction step, torrefaction gas is produced at a temperature of 180 to 400 °C and a pressure of 0 to -0.1 kPa, which is led to the carbonization
1 g) práškové torifikované dřevěné štěpky.- 1 CZ 310023 B6 of the reactor, and in the carbonization reactor, in the carbonization step at a temperature of 200 to 500 °C, carbonization gas is further produced, which, together with the torrefaction gas, is led into the combustion chamber to obtain heat and return it back to the system. The torrefaction gas is a mixture of carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen and hydrocarbons, especially methane and/or acetylene. The carbonization gas at the outlet of the carbonization reactor includes hydrocarbons, especially methane and/or acetylene without specifying the specific methane content. The nanocatalysts used include nanoparticles of nickel, copper, iron, zinc, magnesium or aluminum, especially in a content of 0.01 to 5 parts by weight (e.g. 0.1 to 50 mg) in relation to 100 parts by weight (e.g. 1 g) of powdered torrefied wood chips.
Čínská patentová přihláška CN 109974002 A popisuje proces zpracování odpadu s paralelně uspořádanými pyrolýzními reaktory a spalovacími komorami, přičemž vzniká pyrolýzní plyn bez obsahu dioxinu pro získání tepla a energie. Paralelní uspořádání zajišťuje větší plochu pro výměnu a rovnoměrné předávání tepla.Chinese patent application CN 109974002 A describes a waste treatment process with parallel pyrolysis reactors and combustion chambers, producing dioxin-free pyrolysis gas for heat and energy. The parallel arrangement ensures a larger surface area for exchange and uniform heat transfer.
Evropská patentová přihláška EP 2428546 A1 popisuje proces generování tuhého nebo polotuhého biopaliva rychlou pyrolýzou biomasy se třemi, sériově zapojenými reaktory s tekutými loži: předehřívací, pyrolýzní a spalovací reaktor. Vzniklý pyrolýzní plyn zahrnuje zejména oxid uhelnatý, oxid uhličitý a vodík.European patent application EP 2428546 A1 describes the process of generating solid or semi-solid biofuel by fast pyrolysis of biomass with three series-connected fluidized bed reactors: preheating, pyrolysis and combustion reactor. The resulting pyrolysis gas mainly includes carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and hydrogen.
Apart from the one-step additive addition of torrefied biomass with nanoparticles of copper or nickel before carbonization according to WO 2017217573 A1, the application of additives to biomass for its torrefaction and pyrolysis processing in order to change the composition and proportional representation of the finally produced gas, with an emphasis on enriching this gas with methane, is currently unknown.
V současné době rovněž není známo řešení více sekčního zapojení torefakčních či pyrolýzních reaktorů v paralelním či sériovém zapojení tak, aby bylo možné provádět dávkování stejné biomasy do všech takto zapojených reaktorů současně, a přitom využít v každém samotném reaktoru jinak působících fyzikálních či chemických podmínek a dalších parametrů. Díky tomuto zapojení a kontinuální analýze s následnou odezvou na řízení každého zapojeného reaktoru je možné provádět cílené řízení za účelem požadované změny složení finálně produkovaného plynu. At the moment, there is also no known solution for multiple sectional connection of torrefaction or pyrolysis reactors in parallel or series connection in such a way that it is possible to dose the same biomass into all such connected reactors at the same time, and at the same time take advantage of different physical or chemical conditions and other factors acting in each reactor itself parameters. Thanks to this connection and continuous analysis with subsequent response to the control of each connected reactor, it is possible to carry out targeted control for the desired change in the composition of the final gas produced.
Document WO 2017051008 A1 describes a method of converting biomass-based material into methane. This method takes place in a hydropyrolysis reactor in the presence of a catalyst containing Co and/or Ni in an amount of 2 to 75% by weight, based on the weight of the catalyst, at a temperature of 300 to 600°C and a pressure of 0.5 to 7.5 MPa. The produced gas contains hydrocarbons, of which 70% by weight form methane. The carrier of the catalyst is oxide of aluminum, silicon, titanium, ceria, or their binary oxides. In a preferred embodiment, the amount of active metals is at least 5, 20 or 30% by weight. Additional catalyst may be added during the process. The size of the catalyst particles varies between 0.3 and 4.0 mm. Examples of biomass can be wood, bark, lignin, cyanobacteria, algae, paper waste, sewage sludge and residues of agricultural and forestry production. Biomass after torrefaction can also serve as a raw material for this method. The method may also include preliminary treatment by hydropyrolysis in the presence of a catalyst. This solution does not describe the method of controlling the aforementioned method of treating biomass-based material into methane.

Document WO 8908613 A1 describes a method of treating waste organic material into a gas containing mainly methane and carbon dioxide. In this method, waste organic material in the form of an aqueous suspension or sludge is pyrolyzed at a temperature of 250 to 500 °C and a pressure of at least 5 MPa in the presence of reduced nickel, which catalyzes the reaction of the organic material with water, which produces a gas containing mainly methane and carbon dioxide. The method also includes pretreatment of the organic material before it enters the pressure reactor, during which this material is decomposed and preheated. A system for taking samples during reactor operation is part of the equipment for carrying out this method. Samples are taken from the reactor. The sampling system and the reactor, specifically the autoclave, are remotely controlled by the controller. The catalyst is added to the waste organic material before it enters the reactor. Samples of Ni/Al2O3 catalysts and their efficiency in hexone catalysis at a dosage of 1.2 g of catalyst per g of hexone are also described.
Ve výše uvedeném řešení není dálkové řízení systému pro odběr vzorků a reaktoru popsáno podrobněji, a jak množství odpadního organického materiálu a katalyzátoru, tak procesní podmínky pyrolýzy i předběžné úpravy před pyrolýzou jsou předem definovány před začátkem úpravy. In the above solution, the remote control of the sampling system and the reactor is not described in more detail, and both the amount of waste organic material and catalyst, as well as the pyrolysis process conditions and pre-treatments before pyrolysis are predefined before the treatment starts.
Ve stavu techniky tedy vzniká potřeba takového způsobu úpravy odpadního organického materiálu na plyn obsahující methan, který by zpětně-vazebně reflektoval množství vznikajícího methanu a následně upravoval množství vstupních materiálů a/nebo procesní podmínky. In the state of the art, there is thus a need for such a method of treating waste organic material into methane-containing gas, which would feedback the amount of methane generated and subsequently adjust the amount of input materials and/or process conditions.
Podstata vynálezuThe essence of the invention
The first objective of the invention is to provide a method of enriching the gas produced by torrefaction and pyrolysis of biomass with methane to a final volume of 10 to 60 vol.% methane in combination with a method of controlling the pyrolysis reactor and/or torrefaction reactor based on the methane content in the gas produced during pyrolysis and torrefaction.
This goal is achieved by enriching the gas produced by torrefaction and biomass pyrolysis with methane. In the mentioned method, the biomass is introduced into at least one torrefaction reactor, torrefied at a temperature of 50 °C to 400 °C (e.g. 200 °C to 250 °C for grasses and 200 °C to 350 °C for woody plants) and a pressure of -50 kPa to +100 kPa in the torrefaction reactor, further introduced into at least one pyrolysis reactor and pyrolyzed at a temperature of 400 °C to 800 °C and a pressure of -50 kPa to +100 kPa in the pyrolysis reactor. The residence time of the biomass in the torrefaction or pyrolysis reactor is approximately 30 minutes to 2 hours. At a pressure of -50 kPa to 0 kPa, there is a more intensive release of volatile components and components with a low boiling point, and at a pressure of 0 kPa to +100 kPa, on the contrary, complex hydrocarbon compounds are split into simpler ones, e.g. up to methane. In classical pyrolysis according to the conditions above and without the addition of a catalyst, approximately 10 to 20 vol.% of methane is produced in the pyrolysis gas for grasses, approximately 15 to 30 vol.% methane for woody plants and approximately 10 to 40 vol.% methane for other waste products.
Aditivace až během pyrolýzy, tj. během probíhajícího pyrolytického zpracování biomasy, zajišťuje vyšší účinnost katalyzátorů, kterých katalytickáIn the first embodiment, the addition of the biomass with a catalyst selected from the group consisting of nickel nanoparticles, copper nanoparticles, cobalt nanoparticles, platinum nanoparticles, palladium nanoparticles, ruthenium nanoparticles, rhodium nanoparticles, molybdenum nanoparticles, mercury nanoparticles, and rhodamine 6G, or any combination thereof performed during pyrolysis in pyrolysis reactor to produce methane-enriched pyrolysis gas with a methane content of 10 to 60% vol., in which the methane content is analyzed using a second analyzer to produce input data that is evaluated by the control unit. Addition only during pyrolysis, i.e. during the ongoing pyrolytic processing of biomass, ensures a higher efficiency of catalysts, whose catalytic
Z ekonomických důvodů je vhodné tyto katalyzátory používat až během pyrolýzy.- 3 CZ 310023 B6 activity can significantly decrease during exposure to the conditions of torrefaction or pyrolysis along the entire length. This crowding effect can be observed especially with catalysts containing rare metals, i.e. copper, platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium and mercury. For economic reasons, it is advisable to use these catalysts only during pyrolysis.
In the second embodiment, the additive of the biomass is a catalyst selected from the group consisting of cobalt nanoparticles, platinum nanoparticles, palladium nanoparticles, ruthenium nanoparticles, rhodium nanoparticles, molybdenum nanoparticles, mercury nanoparticles, rhodamine 6G and a combination of nickel and cobalt nanoparticles, or any combination thereof already performed before pyrolysis , preferably during torrefaction and/or after torrefaction outside the torrefaction reactor, to produce methane-enriched pyrolysis gas with a methane content of 10 to 60% vol., in which the methane content is analyzed using a second analyzer to produce input data that is evaluated by the control unit. Addition already during torrefaction, i.e. during ongoing torrefaction processing of biomass, and/or between torrefaction and pyrolysis enables a longer contact time of biomass and catalyst for the entire or almost entire length of the torrefaction and pyrolysis process, and therefore also the enrichment of the resulting gas with methane despite the reduction of catalytic activity with some catalysts or the economic disadvantages mentioned above.
The primary purpose of these catalysts is the conversion of CO2 and H2 generated during the torrefaction and/or pyrolysis processing of biomass into a larger total proportion of methane in the resulting pyrolysis gas. CO2 is a non-flammable gas, which is also undesirable from the point of view of emissions and carbon footprint, and H2 is flammable, but it causes detonations and unstable combustion, i.e. it is undesirable in a normal energy cycle or other process. Without the use of a catalyst, the resulting methane content in the pyrolysis gas would depend only on the input material and this gas could not be further enriched.
In the third embodiment, the addition can be carried out with a catalyst both before pyrolysis and during pyrolysis.
The essence of the mentioned method is that the methane content in the pyrolysis gas as well as in the gas formed during torrefaction is analyzed continuously in real time using the first and second analyzers (e.g. gas chromatograph, non-dispersive infrared sensor, thermal conductivity detector, flame ionization detector, infrared sensor for the mid-infrared region or a combination thereof or another suitable sensor for analyzing the composition of methane-containing gas) to produce input data that is evaluated by the control unit. The control unit subsequently feedback-modifies any process parameter, i.e. temperature and/or pressure and/or biomass residence time and/or amount of introduced biomass and/or ratio of individual biomass components in at least one torrefaction reactor and/or in at least one pyrolysis reactor and/or amount of catalyst added.
Řídicí jednotka tedy reguluje provozní veličiny u každého torefakčního a pyrolýzního reaktoru zvlášť na základě analýzy výstupního plynu a jeho složení. Celý proces lze tedy řídit a lze ovlivnit složení plynu na požadovanou hodnotu, např. odpojením některého z více reaktorů, změnou teplot a dílčích provozních parametrů u jednotlivých reaktorů apod., provádět injektáž katalyzátorů, aditiv a dalších chemických reagentů a substancí v průběhu procesu v přesně stanoveném čase a místě. Zapojením více reaktorů lze pak stabilizovat či ovlivnit výstupní produkty a jejich parametry, především pak finálně produkovaný plyn za účelem změny poměrového složení a tvorby složek methanu na úkor CO2 a H2.The control unit therefore regulates the operating parameters of each torrefaction and pyrolysis reactor separately based on the analysis of the output gas and its composition. The entire process can therefore be controlled and the gas composition can be influenced to the desired value, e.g. by disconnecting one of several reactors, changing the temperatures and partial operating parameters of individual reactors, etc., injecting catalysts, additives and other chemical reagents and substances during the process in exactly at the specified time and place. By connecting more reactors, it is possible to stabilize or influence the output products and their parameters, especially the finally produced gas in order to change the ratio composition and the formation of methane components at the expense of CO2 and H2.
In a preferred embodiment, the catalyst is deposited on the surface of a support selected from the group consisting of aluminosilicate, aluminum oxide, magnesium oxide, titanium dioxide, cerium dioxide, zirconium oxide or any combination thereof. The catalyst can be applied to the support surface using the wet impregnation method.

For formulations B to H, it is advantageous to add them only during pyrolysis, because rhodamine 6G or the metals contained in these catalysts can partially degrade due to the pyrolysis process and lose their catalytic activity (the presence of various tars causes the formation of a coating on their surface and prevents gas access to the catalyst ), which will reduce the resulting methane content in the pyrolysis gas. During pyrolysis, it can mean, for example, in the first third or first half of the pyrolysis reactor due to the flow of material through the reactor. If these formulations are added before pyrolysis for further methane enrichment, e.g. during torrefaction and/or between torrefaction and pyrolysis, for the reasons mentioned above, it is advisable to add them during pyrolysis as well.
A similar phenomenon can be observed for formulation A as for other formulations, but the combination of nickel and cobalt nanoparticles is not as economically expensive to replenish as with rare metals, and therefore this formulation can be used at any point in the process.
For all formulations A to H, and especially for formulation C, it is necessary to ensure disposal of the pyrolysis residue as hazardous waste after addition. For all formulations A-H, the catalysts can be dissolved in an aqueous solution.

The amount of catalyst deposited on the carrier is 0.1 to 5 mg per 1 g of biomass, the reference mass of biomass being the mass of biomass before entering the torrefaction reactor for addition before pyrolysis and the mass of biomass before entering the pyrolysis reactor for addition during pyrolysis.

b. alespoň jeden pyrolýzní reaktor se vstupem torifikované biomasy, výstupem pyrolýzního zbytku a výstupem pyrolýzního plynu obohaceného methanem;b. at least one pyrolysis reactor with torified biomass input, pyrolysis residue output and methane-enriched pyrolysis gas output;
c. aditivační zařízení pro aditivaci biomasy katalyzátorem, přičemž aditivační zařízení je uspořádáno v torefakčním reaktoru jako injektážní zařízení (např. jako alespoň jedna tryska uvnitř torefakčního reaktoru) a/nebo v pyrolýzním reaktoru jako injektážní zařízení (např. jako alespoň jedna tryska uvnitř pyrolýzního reaktoru) a/nebo mezi torefakčním a pyrolýzním reaktorem mimo obou reaktorů (např. jako rozprašovací zařízení nebo míchací zařízení);c. Additization device for the addition of biomass with a catalyst, whereby the additization device is arranged in the torrefaction reactor as an injection device (e.g. as at least one nozzle inside the torrefaction reactor) and/or in the pyrolysis reactor as an injection device (e.g. as at least one nozzle inside the pyrolysis reactor ) and/or between the torrefaction and pyrolysis reactor outside of both reactors (e.g. as a spray device or mixing device);
d. první analyzátor pro analýzu obsahu methanu v plynu vzniklém torefakcí a druhý analyzátor pro analýzu obsahu methanu v pyrolýzním plynu za vzniku vstupních dat; ad. the first analyzer for the analysis of the methane content in the gas produced by torrefaction and the second analyzer for the analysis of the methane content in the pyrolysis gas to generate input data; and
e. řídicí jednotku uzpůsobenou k vyhodnocení vstupních dat a zpětně-vazebné modifikaci podmínek v torefakčním reaktoru, aditivačním zařízení a/nebo pyrolýzním reaktoru.e. control unit adapted to evaluate input data and feedback modification of conditions in the torrefaction reactor, additive device and/or pyrolysis reactor.
Both the torrefaction and pyrolysis reactor can advantageously be a reactor with a generally known screw feeder. By regulating the revolutions of the threads, it is possible to modify the residence time of the biomass in the reactor, which is usually 30 minutes to 2 hours. These reactors can be fitted with check valves and control valves to achieve the required pressures. In the reactors, during torrefaction and pyrolysis, the atmosphere is essentially free of oxygen.
V průběhu procesu torefakce i pyrolýzy dochází k termálně degradačním jevům postupně, tedy s rostoucí teplotou a časem zdržení v reaktoru. Na základě měření lze konstatovat, že nejdříve dochází k sušení materiálu a jeho prvotnímu prohřívání po celém objemu, následně odpaření lehce prchavých látek a poté následuje narušení složitějších vazeb materiálu a jejich štěpení, kdy vznikající plynné substance mohou také dále ovlivnit následný termicky degradační proces (rozklad materiálu). The injection nozzles in the reactors can be arranged regularly at a distance along the entire length of the reactor and suitably sprinkle or dust the biomass as it passes through the reactor. During the process of torrefaction and pyrolysis, thermal degradation phenomena occur gradually, i.e. with increasing temperature and residence time in the reactor. Based on the measurements, it can be concluded that the drying of the material and its initial heating over the entire volume occurs first, followed by the evaporation of slightly volatile substances and then the disruption of the more complex bonds of the material and their splitting, when the resulting gaseous substances can also further influence the subsequent thermal degradation process (decomposition material).

Díky injektáži katalyzátorů v určitém bodě a čase v reaktoru lze tedy ovlivnit proces termické degradace, a tím opět změnit výsledné složení produkovaného plynu. Thanks to the injection of catalysts at a certain point and time in the reactor, the process of thermal degradation can be influenced, thereby changing the resulting composition of the gas produced.
In a preferred embodiment, the device may contain at least two torrefaction reactors arranged in parallel or in series with each other. Similarly, the device may contain at least two pyrolysis reactors arranged in parallel or in series with each other.
Třetím cílem vynálezu je poskytnout počítačový program obsahující instrukce, které způsobí, že řídicí jednotka výše uvedeného zařízení provede ve výše uvedeném způsobu následující kroky:A third object of the invention is to provide a computer program containing instructions that cause the control unit of the above-mentioned device to perform the following steps in the above-mentioned manner:

b. krok zpětně-vazebné modifikace teploty a/nebo tlaku a/nebo doby zdržení biomasy a/nebo množství zavedené biomasy a/nebo poměru jednotlivých složek biomasy v alespoň jednom torefakčním reaktoru a/nebo v alespoň jednom pyrolýzním reaktoru a/nebo množství přidaného katalyzátoru.b. step of feedback modification of temperature and/or pressure and/or biomass residence time and/or amount of introduced biomass and/or ratio of individual biomass components in at least one torrefaction reactor and/or in at least one pyrolysis reactor and/or amount of added catalyst .
A fourth object of the invention is to provide a computer-readable medium on which the above-mentioned computer program is stored, or a carrier signal carrying the above-mentioned computer program.
Objasnění výkresůClarification of drawings
The essence of the invention is further clarified by examples of its implementation, which are described using the attached drawings, in which:
obr. 1 schematicky znázorňuje příkladné zařízení pro obohacení plynu vzniklého torefakcí a pyrolýzou biomasy methanem.Fig. 1 schematically shows an exemplary device for enriching gas produced by torrefaction and pyrolysis of biomass with methane.
Příklady uskutečnění vynálezuExamples of implementation of the invention
The mentioned implementations show exemplary variants of the invention, which, however, have no limiting effect in terms of the scope of protection.
One exemplary embodiment is a method with combined additization during torrefaction, between torrefaction and pyrolysis, and during pyrolysis, which is shown in Fig. 1. However, one skilled in the art will recognize that individual additivity steps can also be used only during torrefaction, or only between torrefaction and pyrolysis, or only during pyrolysis, or combine them in different ways, e.g. as additive during torrefaction and between torrefaction and pyrolysis, or as additive during torrefaction and during pyrolysis, or as additive between torrefaction and pyrolysis and during pyrolysis.
In this exemplary embodiment, Fig. 1 also shows a device for carrying out this method with parallel-arranged torrefaction reactors 3 and pyrolysis reactors 7. However, a person skilled in the art will recognize that only at least one torrefaction reactor 3 and at least one pyrolysis reactor 7 are sufficient for the essence of the invention. Also any two torrefaction and/or pyrolysis reactors 3, 7 can be connected in series.
Dle obr. According to Fig. 1, the input material at the beginning of the above-mentioned method is, for example, waste material that would otherwise be unusable (plastics, paper, wood chips), fuel with a low calorific value that is not advantageous to burn directly or otherwise directly use energetically (low-energy coal/tailings , residues from fuel production and industrial operations) or biomass with low calorific value (residues from agricultural production, wood waste, bark, food residues, sludge, hay, straw, bran, rice husks, leaves, etc.). This input material is inserted into magazine 1, which can be closed (e.g.
The material is gradually removed, preferably from the lower part, by means of a conveyor in the required quantity and is transported to the torrefaction reactor 3. Tank 1 can be filled with an inert gas to guarantee that no oxygen is present in the process from tank 1 to the final outlet and no thus to the burning of the material throughout its processing. The material thus proceeds through the torrefaction reactor 3, where it undergoes a torrefaction process with addition by a catalyst using the first addition device 4 and its physicochemical properties change. The material is dried and part of the material is released in the form of a gas with a certain composition, which depends on the process parameters and the composition of the input material. In general, these are mainly CO, CO2, smaller amounts of CH4 and H2, and possibly other small amounts of other gases and hydrocarbons. At the exit from the torrefaction reactor 3, it is therefore possible to separate the solid residue and the gaseous fraction, which was released from the material during the torrefaction process and which can be taken away for further processing.
The solid residue is the input material for subsequent pyrolysis processing, which acquired new properties thanks to torrefaction and was energetically evaluated. The improvement consists in the so-called carbonization, when the total proportion of carbon in the composition of the material has increased, it has dried and partially changed the structure of the material, which, for example, acquires hydrophobic properties. The total energy value of the material processed in this way is higher than that of the input material. The torrefied material can be subjected to further addition in an intermediate step using the second addition device 6, which can take place in the form of sprinkling the material with a catalyst in liquid form, or by physical mixing of the torrefied material with the catalyst. Subsequently, it is possible to further process the torrefied material, for example, in the form of pellets or briquettes for their better transport and handling.
Torifikovaný materiál dále postupuje do procesu pyrolýzy, kde na materiál působí jiné procesní podmínky než během torefakce - především pak vyšší teplota např. v kombinaci s regulovatelnou dobou zdržení materiálu v pyrolýzním reaktoru 7, kde podstoupí proces pyrolýzy s aditivací katalyzátorem pomocí třetího aditivačního zařízení 8. Dochází znovu k energetickému zhodnocení materiálu za vzniku pyrolýzního tuhého zbytku, pyrolýzní kapaliny a pyrolýzního plynu s obsahem CO, CO2, H2 a CH4 a jiných plynů. Úkolem katalyzátoru je obohatit pyrolýzní plyn o methan na úkor vznikajícího CO2 a H2.The torrefied material then proceeds to the pyrolysis process, where the material is subjected to different process conditions than during torrefaction - above all, a higher temperature, e.g. in combination with an adjustable residence time of the material in the pyrolysis reactor 7, where it undergoes a pyrolysis process with addition by a catalyst using a third addition device 8. The energy recovery of the material takes place again with the formation of pyrolysis solid residue, pyrolysis liquid and pyrolysis gas containing CO, CO2, H2 and CH4 and other gases. The task of the catalyst is to enrich the pyrolysis gas with methane at the expense of the resulting CO2 and H2.
After exiting both the torrefaction reactor 3 and the pyrolysis reactor 7, the composition of the gas produced by torrefaction, resp. pyrolysis gas in real time analyzed using the first or of the second analyzer 5, 9, e.g. Syngas analyzer 3100, Siemens FIDAMAT 6, Siemens CALOMAT 6, Siemens ULTRAMAT 6 and/or Master GC. The resulting input data is evaluated by the control unit 2, which subsequently feedback-modifies any process parameter in the torrefaction step, in the pyrolysis step or in the intermediate step between torrefaction and pyrolysis.
