Abstract

The testing device of railway wheels enables testing on the actual surfaces of the railway wheel and the rail, where the defined force and kinematic conditions are secured during the contact of the wheel with the rail. The essence of the testing device of railway wheels lies in the possibility of simulating all the operational situations occurring in the wheel-rail contact, with the fact that the real rail is replaced by a rotating rail. The testing device of railway wheels allows the introduction of all the force effects and the setting of the kinematic positions in the wheel-rotating rail contact. The entire testing device of railway wheels is housed in the main support frame (5), which is mounted on a rigid base via a set of coil springs (17). The rotating rail (3), which is pressed onto the shaft (18), is rotatably supported by the bearings (19) in the pivoted frame (8), which is supported by the other bearings (20) in the main support frame (5). The railway wheel (4) being tested, which is arranged against the rotating rail (3) with its tread, is pressed onto the shaft (16) which is mounted in the support frame (6) in a special fork (22) by means of the bearings (21). The fork is connected to the support frame (6) by means of the axial bearings (23) so as to allow its rotation about the horizontal axis and, thus, the rotation of the vertical plane of the railway wheel (4) being tested and, thus, the adjustment of the angle of the inclination and the rail rotating against the vertical plane (3).
