Abstract
The method of spatially shaping on the surface of the metal / polymer composite structures is that the surface of the polymer coated with the thin metal layer is subjected to a focused laser beam with a wavelength corresponding to the maximum absorption of the polymer and with the power to exceed the flow temperature of the molded polymer over the thin metal layer. The absorption properties of the polymer can be adjusted, if necessary, by the volume addition of a suitable additive. To produce more complex structures, the process is complemented by the simultaneous mechanical movement of the surface of the polymer covered with a thin metal layer in a plane perpendicular to the focused laser beam in any desired direction and subsequently rotated by an angle of 0.1.degree. to 359.9.degree. to the original direction of shaping with the re-modulation of the same location in the same plane. Expected use for sensorics, photonics, in high-resolution hyperthermia and in influencing non-visibility of objects.
Description
Způsob prostorového tvarování kompozitních metadfftičkýetí štrukťúť ‘ na povrchu polymeru
Oblast techniky
Soukoulis, Optics Letters 2007, 32, 53), litografie iontovým svazkem (C. Enkrich, F. Perez-WiHard, D. Gerthsen, J. Zhou, T. Koschny, CM. Soukoulis, M. Wegener, S. Linden, Advanced Materials 2005, 17, 2547) či interferenční litografie (S. Zhang, W. Fan, KJ. Malloy, Journal Optical Society of America B 2006, 23, 434). Rovněž bylo popsáno tvarování struktur pomocí jednoho laserového svazku (C. Hubert, C. Fiorini-Debuisschert, I. Maurin, J.-M. Nunzi, P. Raimond, Advanced Materials 2002, 14, 729). Dále je známa „nanoimprint litografie44 (N. Kehagias, V. Reboud, G. Chansin, M. Zelsmann, C. Jeppesen, C. Schuster, M. Kubenz, F. Reuther, G. Gruetzner, CM. Sotomayor Torres, Nanotechmology 2007, 18, 175303) a další metody, jako je multifotonové laserové psaní (T. Baldacchini, AC. Pons, J. Pons, ChN. LaFratta, JT. Fourkas, Optics Express 2005, 13, 1275) nebo laserové^) skenování (O. Lyutakov, I. Huttel, J. Siegel, V. Svorcik, Applied Physics Letters 2009, 95, 173103). V současné době je značná pozornost věnována ještě dvěma technikám: (i) přímému psaní elektronovým svazkem a (ii)
' ' ' ' · ii i * II I tvarování zaostřeným iontovým svazkem (S. Griffith, M. Mondol, D. S:fc0f& Journal'oř Vacuum ‘ Science & Technology B 2002, 14). Běžně se k tomuto účelu používá bezproudové pokovování (F. Jing, H. Tong, L. Kong, Applied Physics A 2005, 80, 597), chemická depozice z plynné fáze nebo stínové naparování (J. Tůma, O. Lyutakov, I. Huttel, J. Siegel, J. Heitz, Y. Kalachyova, V. Svorcik, Journal of Materials Science 2013, 48, 900). Zhang, QD. Chen, H. Xia, HB. Sun, Nano Today 2010, 5, 435) nebo použitím chirálních periodických stavebních bloků (A. Radke, T. Gissibl, T. Klotzbůcher, PV. Braun, H. Giessen, Advanced Materials 2011, 23, 3018).
Konkrétně navrhovaný způsob zahrnuje pečlivý výběr polymeru s přísadou vhodného barviva, které absorbuje dopadající světlo, depozici kovu a následné řezání polymeru laserovým paprskem přes tenkou kovovou vrstvu.
Parametry vytvářených obrazců (periodicita, amplituda; ďruhšýmetřie) určuje ’ míra dotace látky absorbující laserové záření (0,01 až 75,0^hmotnostních\%j'barviva v polymeru), tloušťka kovové vrstvy (1 až 1000 nm), rychlost mechanického pohybu polymeru pokrytého tenkou kovovou vrstvou (0,01 až 100,0 pm/s), výkon laseru (0,01 až 1000 mW) a trajektorie pohybu vzorku v průběhu modulování vrstvy (struktury pravoúhlé a/nebo kosoúhlé a/nebo oblé symetrie).
V průběhu přípravy struktury rybářské sítě a dalších struktur lze jednoduchou změnou směru pohybu, rychlosti pohybu, výkonu laseru plynule měnit jejich geometrické, optické, povrchové a materiálové parametry.
měnit periodicitu a amplitudu struktur.
Polymer s napařenou kovovou vrstvou byl vystaven tepelnému působení / fokusovaného laserového svazku s výkonem 2 mW a současnému mechanickému pohybu ' kompozitní vrstvy v primárně zvoleném směru s rychlostí 5 pm/s. Rychlost posuvu a výkon laseru byly zachovány. Takto byly připraveny kompozitní struktury rybářské sítě s periodicitou 10 pm a amplitudou 1 pm, dílčí stavební jednotky jsou svým tvarem připodobitelné lidskému zubu (obr. 2).

A method of spatially shaping composite metadata on a polymer surface
Technical field
The method of shaping the surface of a polymer for manufacturing optical and meta-optical components relates to the production of surface-structured polymeric materials with selectively metallized building units of the structure. Background Art
Properly designed metamaterial building units (M. Lapine, S. Tretyakov, IET Microwaves, Antennas & Propagation 2007, 1, 3) allow you to obtain materials with exceptional properties that do not occur in materials in nature. These are mainly negative permittivity, permeability and refractive index. Current technologies offer a number of ways to realize the structures of functional composite metamaterials. It is a combination of chemical-physical processes with the preparation of various composite periodic structures composed mainly of polymers and metals.
Standard methods include electron beam lithography (G. Dolling, M. Wegener, CM. Soukoulis, Optics Letters 2007, 32, 53), ion beam lithography (C. Enkrich, F. Perez-WiHard, D. Gerthsen, J. Zhou , T. Koschny, CM Soukoulis, M. Wegener, S. Linden, Advanced Materials 2005, 17, 2547) or interference lithography (S. Zhang, W. Fan, KJ Malloy, Journal Optical Society of America 2006, 23 , 434). Structures were also formed using a single laser beam (C. Hubert, C. Fiorini-Debuisschert, I. Maurin, J.-M. Nunzi, P. Raimond, Advanced Materials 2002, 14, 729). Using this method, interference occurs between the incident beam and the reflected beam from the underside of the substrate. The disadvantage is that this method can only be applied to polymers of the azo-polymer type. Furthermore, "nanoimprint lithography44" (N. Kehagias, V. Reboud, G. Chansin, M. Zelsmann, C. Jeppesen, C. Schuster, M. Kubenz, F. Reuther, G. Gruetzner, CM. Sotomayor Torres, Nanotechmology 2007) is known. , 18, 175303) and other methods such as multifoton laser writing (T. Baldacchini, AC. Pons, J. Pons, ChN. LaFratta, JT. Fourkas, Optics Express 2005, 13, 1275) or laser scanning (O) Lyutakov, I. Huttel, J. Siegel, V. Svorcik, Applied Physics Letters 2009, 95, 173103). At present, considerable attention is paid to two techniques: (i) electron beam direct writing and (ii)
Focused Ion Shaping (S. Griffith, M. Mondol, D. S: ff0f &Journal; Vacuum Science & Technology B 2002, 14). For both methods, which are very complex and time consuming, a problem arises with the use of suitable materials for sampling and deposition. The aim of these procedures is to create a polymeric periodic structure (eg points, grid, "fishing net") with a selectively plated surface. Normally electroless plating is used for this purpose (F. Jing, H. Tong, L. Kong, Applied Physics A 2005, 80, 597), chemical vapor deposition or shadow vapor deposition (J. Tuma, O. Lyutakov, I.). Huttel, J. Siegel, J. Heitz, Y. Kalachyova, V. Svorcik, Journal of Materials Science 2013, 48, 900). At appropriate base cell sizes, the slit-resonator structure (CE. Kriegler, MS. Rill, M. Thiel, Applied Physics B 2009, 96, 749) provides a positive light response of corresponding wavelengths. The efficacy of the materials can be further enhanced with respect to symmetry in the third dimension (N. Liu, H. Guo, L. Fu, Nature Materials 2008, 7, 31). The latest developments follow the construction of micro- and nanostructures in the third dimension (YL. Zhang, QD. Chen, H. Xia, HB. Sun, Nano Today 2010, 5, 435) or by using chiral periodic building blocks (A. Radke, T Gissibl, T. Klotzbücher, PV Braun, H. Giessen, Advanced Materials 2011, 23, 3018). Each of the above methods has many advantages, but also some disadvantages, consisting mainly in financial and time consuming.
The method of preparation of this proposal is to achieve the desired functional structures faster and cheaper. The polymer layer is covered with a continuous thin layer of silver, which is subsequently "re-modulated" by a power laser diode in one step. During the interaction of the focused laser beam with the doped polymer, the silver layer is cut into periodically arranged square fields with a sub-building resembling a human tooth. In particular, the proposed method involves careful selection of a polymer with the addition of a suitable dye that absorbs incident light, metal deposition, and subsequent laser beam cutting through a thin metal layer. Silver, which has unique electrical and optical properties, has been used for conductivity, making it ideal for applications in electronics and optoelectronics (H. Kim, AA. Abdala, ChW. Macosko, Macromolecules 2010, 43, 6515). A laser diode with a polymer over-flow performance offers a wide range of options in preparing any / periodic shapes on surfaces of polymers coated with a thin metal layer. -a * In patent PV 2009-656, No. 303058 "Method of Polymer Nanostructure Formation", a method of modifying a polymeric surface by scanning a laser beam while mechanically moving the sample was described. This method allows the surface of various polymers to be formed using a temperature gradient under the action of a laser beam. However, the disadvantage of this and other similar methods remains the need for a further technological step in which selective polymerization of the prepared polymeric structures takes place.
The essence of the invention ..................—---------- £ »
This drawback is fundamentally eliminated by the process of forming the structures on the polymer surface, wherein in the first phase the polymer surface is covered with a thin metal layer and then the metal surface on the polymer is exposed to the focused laser beam. Its wavelength is consistent with the wavelength corresponding to the maximum absorption of the material used, its performance allowing the flow temperature of the molded polymer (metal / polymer composite) to exceed the surface of the polymer coated with a thin metal layer in a plane perpendicular to the focused laser beam. This movement can be realized in any primary direction selected. The surface of the polymer coated with a thin metal layer with the formed structure is then rotated in a plane perpendicular to the focused laser beam by an angle of 0.1 to 359.9 ° relative to the primarily selected direction of movement. At this point, the surface is again subjected to the heat treatment of the focused laser beam, the polymer surface moving in a plane perpendicular to the focused laser beam. Again, the polymer coated with a thin metal layer can move in any second selected direction rotated by any angle relative to the primarily selected direction of movement perpendicular to the laser beam.
The interaction of the focused laser beam with the polymer-coated thin metal layer is repeated at the same location at the selected angle to the primary formed structure. The polymer coated with a thin layer of metal is thus modified up to twice in the same place (structure nodes).
The proposed method can be used to shape various types of polymers in optical purity, including polymers with chemically bonded (or doped) chromophores or photoresists, which increase the absorption of the laser beam at a given wavelength of the laser. A thin layer of noble metal is deposited on the polymer by vacuum vapor deposition or sputtering.
This method allows the formation of spatial composite metal / polymer structures. It is possible to create a set of points, holes, lines, arcs or structures of the so-called "fishing net" with a building unit shaped like a human tooth. The structures formed have the same consistency in the defined separation of the thin metal layer on the polymer surface. In one technological step, structures are formed which are simultaneously selectively plated. Thus, microresonators and optical resonators are prepared on which the properties of metamaterials are based. Plain symmetry of these structures can be changed from rectangular patterns (squares and / or rectangles) to oblique motifs (rhombuses and / or cosmophones) or size-varying similarity to corresponding quadrangles or circles and other rounded shapes.
By the process according to the invention, the arrangement of two continuously overlapping grids professionally referred to as the "fishing net" structure can be prepared on the surface of a polymer coated with a thin metal layer. Its basic building blocks, which resemble the shape of a human tooth, are, selectively plated. The parameters of the patterns created (periodicity, amplitude, secondhand) determine the subsidy rate laser radiation absorbers (0.01 to 75.0% by weight of the dye in the polymer), the thickness of the metal layer (1 to 1000 nm), the speed of mechanical movement of the polymer covered with a thin metal layer (0.01 to 100.0 µm) / s), laser power (0.01 to 1000 mW) and trajectory of sample movement during layer modulation (rectangular and / or rectangular and / or rounded symmetry structures).
According to the invention, the device for the preparation of shaped metal / polymer composite structures consists of two movable tables on which a polymer (2) coated with a thin metal layer (3) is placed on the substrate (1) and interacts with the focused laser when moving the movable tables. the bundle (4), while the stage (5) moves in a plane perpendicular to the focused laser beam, modulated structures are formed.
The method of spatially shaping the surface of the polymer composite structure coated with a thin metal layer in the nano- or micro-dimensional region of the invention is simple and inexpensive. During the preparation of the fishing net structure and other structures, the geometric, optical, surface and material parameters can be fluently changed by simply changing the direction of movement, movement speed, and laser power.
The novelty of the solution is to heat the surface of the polymer coated with a thin metal layer above the polymer flow temperature while simultaneously moving the polymer coated with a thin metal layer in a plane perpendicular to the direction of the focused laser beam. This inexpensive process makes it possible to create, in one step, a selectively plated periodic structure of arbitrary shapes, which are useful for the production of optical metamaterials with the possibility of operatively
change the periodicity and amplitude of structures. Example 1
A polymethymethacrylate (PMMA) layer was prepared on a centrifuge at 1500 rpm from a 7% solution of polymer in 1,2-dichloroethane volume-doped with porphyrin (meso-tetrafenephosphorphine) having a final film thickness of 5000 nm. Porphyrin is a substance with high light absorption at a wavelength of about 400 nm. A layer of silver at a thickness of 40 nm was vacuum-vaporized onto the polymer layer. The coated metal layer polymer was subjected to a thermal exposure / focused laser beam of 2 mW and a simultaneous mechanical movement of the composite layer in a primarily selected direction at 5 µm / sec. In this direction, always with an equidistant spacing perpendicular to the primary selected direction, the sample surface was subjected to a focused laser beam several times while the sample was moving. In this way, parallel grooves (ditches) were passed through the silver layer into the polymer. In the next step, the direction of specimen movement was changed with the orientation rotated by 90 * relative to the primary motion. The feed speed and laser power have been maintained. In this way, the composite structures of the fishing net were prepared with a periodicity of 10 µm and an amplitude of 1 µm, the sub-units are similar in shape to the human tooth (Fig. 2). Example 2
The experimental setup and sample preparation was the same as in Example 1. The speed of the mechanical movement was changed. The frequency of the prepared structure was proportional to the speed of movement. A 5 µm periodicity was achieved in this way. It was possible to change the periodicity (spacing between the partial ditches) immediately during the preparation and thus realize a spatially modulated composite structure of the fishing net with a square and / or rectangular pattern. Example 3
The experimental setup and sample preparation were the same as in Example 1. The concentration of the porphyrin solution was varied from 2.0 to 4.0% and thus the amount of absorbent material inside the polymer. In particular, the amplitude of the prepared structures from 300 nm to 1.5 µm was affected. Example 4
The experimental setup and sample preparation was the same as in Example 1. The laser power varied from 0.5 to 5.0 mW. In this way, the amplitude of individual parts of the "fishing nets" could be varied from 300 nm to 2 µm during preparation. Example 5
The experimental setup and sample preparation was the same as in Example 1. In the next step, the washer with the first portion of the desired structure on the metal / polymer composite layer was rotated by 45 ° and the laser shaping was repeated with simultaneous mechanical movement of the sample in a direction perpendicular to the focused laser beam. In this way, "fishing net" composite structures with rectangular symmetry were prepared with a periodicity of 5 H to 10 µm and an amplitude of 300 nm to 1.5 µm. Example 6
The experimental setup and sample preparation were the same as in Example 1. Simultaneous movement of the two tables was programmed to provide arc motifs in the formed structure.
