Abstract
La invención se refiere a un implante con un recubrimiento el cual libera iones de plata en el cuerpo humano y como un resultado posee acción antimicrobiana. De conformidad con la invención, un primer componente de superficie del recubrimiento está formado mediante un material ánodo. Un segundo componente de superficie del recubrimiento está formado mediante un material cátodo. El material cátodo es mayor en las series de voltaje electroquímico que el material ánodo. El material cátodo y el material ánodo están conectados el uno con el otro en una manera eléctricamente conductiva. En conjunto con el electrolito corporal en el medio ambiente del implante, el material ánodo y el material cátodo forman una multitud de elementos locales galvánicos. La acción antimicrobiana del recubrimiento es mejorada como un resultado.
