Abstract

Un artículo absorbente que tiene una longitud y un ancho, unaparte frontal y una parte posterior, un eje central perpendicular a la longitud del artículo absorbente y dividiendo dicho artículo absorbente en dicha parte frontal y dicha parte posterior, dicho artículo absorbente comprende: (a) un armazón que comprende (i) una cubierta exterior, y (ii) un forro del lado del cuerpo montado en dicha cubierta exterior y adaptado para hacer contacto con el cuerpo del usuario; (b) un núcleo absorbente localizado entre el forro del lado del cuerpo y dicha cubierta exterior; y (c) una estructura de retención fecal montada en el armazón por lo menos en la parte posterior de dicho artículo absorbente, dicha estructura de retención fecal tiene por lo menos una capa de un material elásticamente comprimible, definiendo un perímetro de dicha estructura de retención fecal, y abarcando una abertura en dicha estructura de retención fecal, dicha abertura teniendo un fondo, dicho material elásticamente comprimible teniendo una flexibilidad suficiente para presionar y sellar en contra del cuerpo del usuario cuando se dobla durante la aplicación al cuerpo del usuario, y una resistencia a la compresión suficiente para mantener un espacio en dicha abertura entre la piel del usuario y el fondo de dicha abertura bajo una aplicación normal de peso y presión como se aplican por el usuario.
