Una composición repelente de insectos que comprende una mezcla de:(a) desde 5 hasta 95% en peso, de unaN-alquil-neoalcanamida que tiene la fórmula:donde R1 , R2 , y R3 son grupos alquilo y la suma delos átomos de carbono es desde 6 a 12, y donde R4es ya sea un átomo de hidrógeno o un grupo alquiloque tiene uno hasta dos átomos de carbono, y dondeR5 , es metilo, etilo, o propilo; y(b) desde 5 hasta 95%, en peso, deN,N-dietil-meta-toluamida (DEET).
