Abstract

La invención se refiere a un proceso para licuar un gas natural que comprende una mezcla de hidrocarburos que comprende predominantemente metano, el proceso comprende un primer ciclo refrigerante semi-abierto con gas natural en el cual cualquier líquido de gas natural que se haya condensado se separa de la corriente de alimentación de gas natural, la corriente pasa luego a través de un intercambiador de calor criogénico principal (4) para contribuir mediante el intercambio de calor al enfriamiento previo de una corriente principal de gas natural (F-P) y al enfriamiento de una corriente inicial de gas refrigerante(G-0), un segundo ciclo refrigerante semi-abierto al gas natural para contribuir al enfriamiento previo del gas natural y el refrigerante y también para licuar el gas natural, y un ciclo refrigerante cerrado con gas refrigerante para sub-enfriar el gas natural licuado y para suministrar energía de refrigeración además de los otros dos ciclos. La invención también proporciona una instalación de licuefacción de gas natural para realizar dicho proceso.
