Abstract

本实用新型公开了一种用以提供两块电路板间电性连通的电连接器,其包括绝缘本体及若干端子,其中绝缘本体包括与电路板平行且靠近的底壁及与底壁相邻设置的两侧壁,于底壁内设有若干定位槽,于侧壁内形成有若干狭槽,上述导电端子收容于绝缘本体的相应狭槽内。导电端子包括本体部、自本体部底部延伸出绝缘本体外的尾部、自本体部向上延伸的对接部及自本体部横向延伸出的固持部,其中固持部与上述定位槽干涉配合。导电端子稳定固持于绝缘本体内,故可以减小绝缘本体侧壁的厚度,进而使绝缘本体保持较小的宽度。

【技术领域】
本实用新型是关于一种电连接器,尤其涉及一种板对板连接器的导电端子与绝缘本体固持结构的改良。
【背景技术】
电连接器通常包括绝缘本体及设置于绝缘本体内的若干导电端子,其中这些导电端子于绝缘本体上相隔一定间距排列,以保证相邻导电端子电讯传输的可靠性。为了保证导电端子与绝缘本体间的稳固结合,在导电端子和绝缘本体会分别设置相互配合的固持结构。请参阅美国专利第6,338,630号,该专利揭示了一种板对板连接器,其导电端子的尾部垂直向上突伸一固持部,在固持部上设置有突刺可与绝缘本体的两纵长侧壁内的凹槽形成干涉配合,以提供导电端子与绝缘本体间良好的固持力。然而,该导电端子的垂直向上的固持部设计需要在绝缘本体的侧壁内设置对应凹槽与之相配合,从而会增加绝缘本体两侧壁的厚度,进而增加绝缘本体的宽度,不符合电连接器小型化的发展趋势。
所以,有必要对上述电连接器的导电端子与绝缘本体的固持结构予以改良,以克服现有技术的缺陷。
【实用新型内容】
本实用新型的目的是提供一种电连接器,其导电端子稳定固持于绝缘本体内,且使电连接器保持较小的宽度。
为达成上述目的,本实用新型采用如下技术方案:一种电连接器,可组装于电路板上,其包括绝缘本体及若干导电端子,绝缘本体包括与电路板平行且靠近的底壁及与该底壁相邻设置的两侧壁,于侧壁内形成有若干狭槽,上述导电端子收容于绝缘本体的相应狭槽内。导电端子包括本体部、自本体部底部延伸出绝缘本体外的尾部及自本体部向上延伸的对接部,在绝缘本体的底壁内设有若干定位槽,上述导电端子的本体部横向延伸出与绝缘本体的定位槽相固持的固持部。
与现有技术相比,本实用新型电连接器具有以下有益效果:由于导电端子的固持部可与绝缘本体的底壁干涉配合,其导电端子稳定固持于绝缘本体内,故可以减小绝缘本体侧壁的厚度,从而进一步使绝缘本体保持较小的宽度。

【具体实施方式】
请参阅图1,本实用新型电连接器3安装于一块电路板(未图示)上,可与安装于另一电路板上的对接连接器(未图示)相配,以达成两块电路板之间的电性连接,该电连接器3包括绝缘本体1及设置于绝缘本体1内的若干导电端子2。其中绝缘本体1呈纵长构形,其包括沿纵长方向延伸的一对侧壁11、沿横宽方向延伸形成且与上述侧壁11相邻接的一对端壁13及位于绝缘本体1底部与电路板平行且与上述侧壁11、端壁13相连接的底壁12,前述侧壁11、端壁13及底壁12包围形成有对接腔14,该对接腔14用以收容对接连接器的***部分。当然,于其他实施方式中,在本实用新型电连接器3的绝缘本体1亦可不设端壁13,并不影响本实用新型技术方案的实施。
请进一步参阅图2及图3,上述绝缘本体1的底壁12内邻近两侧壁11处设有若干水平延伸的定位槽120,于绝缘本体1的侧壁11设有用以收容导电端子2的若干狭槽110,这些狭槽110横向延伸贯穿侧壁11且与绝缘本体1的对应定位槽120相连通。
上述若干导电端子2分成两排,分别排布于绝缘本体1的纵长方向两侧,每一端子2包括收容于绝缘本体1的侧壁11的狭槽110内的本体部21,焊接于电路板上的尾部22及自本体部向上延伸的弹性对接部23。本体部21的中部设有向对接腔14方向水平延伸的固持部210,固持部210上垂直向上设有突刺211。对接部23包括有突伸入对接腔14内可与对接连接器的对接端子(未图示)相接触的接触部230及自接触部230向上延伸的自由端231。尾部22自本体部21底部向绝缘本体1外侧平行于绝缘本体1底壁12延伸出侧壁11外,以焊接于电路板上。
请参阅2及图3,组装时,将导电端子2自绝缘本体1的侧壁11的外侧***绝缘本体1内,其中导电端子2的对接部23及本体部21收容于狭槽110内,固持部210收容于设于绝缘本体1的底壁12内的定位槽120,上述固持部210的突刺211与绝缘本体1干涉配合,增大导电端子2与绝缘本体1间的固持力。
由于导电端子2的固持部210可与绝缘本体1的底壁12干涉配合,其导电端子2稳定固持于绝缘本体内,故可以减小绝缘本体1侧壁11的厚度,从而进一步使绝缘本体1保持较小的宽度。

Claims (10)

1.一种电连接器,可组装于电路板上,其包括绝缘本体及若干导电端子,绝缘本体包括与电路板平行且靠近的底壁及与该底壁相邻设置的两侧壁,于侧壁内形成有若干狭槽,上述导电端子收容于绝缘本体的相应狭槽内,导电端子包括本体部、自本体部底部延伸出绝缘本体外的尾部及自本体部向上延伸的对接部,其特征在于:在绝缘本体的底壁内设有若干定位槽,上述导电端子的本体部横向延伸出与绝缘本体的定位槽相固持的固持部。
2.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体的所述定位槽形成于底壁内邻近侧壁处且水平延伸而成。
3.如权利要求1或2所述的电连接器,其特征在于:绝缘本体的侧壁内的狭槽与设于底壁内的定位槽相连通。
4.如权利要求3所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述底壁与所述侧壁相连接,所述狭槽横向贯穿绝缘本体的侧壁。
5.如权利要求4所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述绝缘本体还包括有与两侧壁相连接的两端壁,上述四壁包围形成一对接腔。
6.如权利要求5所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子的固持部是朝上述对接腔方向水平延伸形成。
7.如权利要求6所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子的固持部设有与绝缘本体的定位槽干涉配合的突刺。
8.如权利要求7所述的电连接器,其特征在于:导电端子的对接部包括有突伸入对接腔内的接触部及自接触部向上延伸的自由端。
9.如权利要求1所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述导电端子的本体部及对接部收容于绝缘本体侧壁的所述狭槽内。
10.如权利要求8所述的电连接器,其特征在于:所述导电端子的尾部自本体部底部向绝缘本体外侧平行于绝缘本体底壁延伸出侧壁外。
