3. A merchandise security device according to claim 1, wherein the cable comprises at least two wires, one of the wires being connected to the electrical contact portion on one side of the shaft and the other wire being connected to the electrical contact portion on the other side of the shaft.
4. A merchandise security device with a line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the first security component and/or the second security component includes a sensing device configured to detect a security event.
5. A merchandise security device with a line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the first security component and/or the second security component includes a warning device configured to issue a security signal or alarm in response to a merchandise security event.
6. The merchandise security device with a line winding mechanism according to claim 1 or 2, wherein at least one of the first and second electrical contact portions has elasticity.

A merchandise security device with a line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the first security component or the second security component is configured such that at least one of the first security component and the second security component is attached to the merchandise, the merchandise security device being capable of issuing a security signal or alarm when the merchandise is illegally removed.

A merchandise security device with a line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, wherein the first security component or the second security component is configured such that at least one of the first security component and the second security component is connectable to a support surface, the merchandise security device being capable of issuing a security signal or alarm when the security device is removed from the support surface.
9. A merchandise security device with a line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, including a power source configured to provide operating power to the security device.
10. A line reeling mechanism according to claim 1, including a communication interface for responding to the disarm signal or disarm the alarm by the unlocker.
