Fig. 2(a) -2 (c) schematically illustrate a manufacturing method for manufacturing an airbag according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Detailed Description
Hereinafter, a specific embodiment of an airbag according to the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. The following detailed description and drawings are included to illustrate the principles of the invention, and the invention is not limited to the preferred embodiments described, but rather, the various embodiments described may be used alone or in any combination, and the scope of the invention is defined by the claims.
In addition, spatially relative terms (such as "upper," "lower," "left," and "right," etc.) are used to describe one element's relative positional relationship with another element as illustrated in the figures. Spatially relative terms may therefore apply in other orientations than those illustrated in the figures, when used. It will be apparent that although for ease of illustration all of these spatially relative terms refer to the orientation shown in the drawings, those skilled in the art will appreciate that orientations other than those shown in the drawings may be used.
Fig. 1 schematically shows an airbag according to an embodiment of the invention. An airbag according to an embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to fig. 1.
As shown in fig. 1, the airbag is in a deployed state, and specifically, the airbag 10 is in a deployed state. The airbag 10 has a deployed state and a stowed state (not shown) shown, when in the stowed state, the airbag 10 is stowed at a predetermined location of the vehicle with a smaller volume relative to the deployed state. In addition to the illustrated airbag 10, the airbag includes a gas generator (not shown) for inflating the airbag 10 to inflate the airbag 10 into a deployed state.
As can be seen in fig. 1, the airbag 10 comprises a body portion 12 and a cutout portion 11, the cutout portion 11 being formed to be cut out of the airbag 10 but still remaining integral with the body portion 12. In this example, the cutout 11 is a portion that is cut out of a particular portion of the airbag 10, but remains integral with the remainder of the airbag 10. After the cutting operation of the airbag 10, the cut portion is formed as a cut portion 11, and the remaining portion forms a body portion 12.
Furthermore, the airbag 10 comprises an orientation member 13, in particular a stitch, via which orientation member 13 the cut-out 11 is oriented in a predetermined direction relative to the body portion 12 in the deployed state. Specifically, in the example shown in fig. 1, after the cutting operation of the air bag 10, the left end of the cut portion 11 in fig. 1 (which is also the joint of the cut portion 11 and the main body portion 12) is folded twice along the first folding line 11A and the second folding line 111B to form the folded portion 111; thereafter, the folded portion 111 is fixed with a suture.
It should be noted that the directional member 13 in the above example is provided as a suture only as an example, and the directional member 13 of the present invention is not limited thereto. A member or a method capable of orienting the intercepting part 11 in a predetermined direction with respect to the body part in the unfolded state may be used as the orienting member of the present invention, for example, a drawstring or ultrasonic welding.
In one embodiment according to the present invention, as shown in fig. 1, the cut-out 11 is formed to start from the edge of the air bag 10. This facilitates the cutting operation of the air bag to be performed in a convenient manner.
Preferably, the airbag is configured as an air curtain, and a fixing portion 15 for fixing to the vehicle is provided at a first edge 10A of the air curtain, and the intercepting portion 11 is configured to intercept from a second edge 10B opposite to the first edge 10A. The cut-out 11 is generally used to protect the head of the driver or passenger.
In a conventional inflatable curtain, in order to protect the head, the whole of the inflatable curtain will be arranged to be large enough in the height direction of the vehicle to meet the requirement that the inflatable curtain can extend to the level of the head. In contrast to the above-described conventional air curtain, in the airbag of the present invention, the intercepting part is formed to be intercepted from the air bag but still to be kept as one body with the body part, and the intercepting part is oriented in the predetermined direction with respect to the body part via the orientation member in the deployed state, and therefore, the head part is protected by the intercepting part. Therefore, the utilization rate of the material for manufacturing the airbag is improved, thereby saving the cost. Furthermore, the height of the air curtain is large only at the cut-out and low at the remaining positions, thereby reducing the volume of the air bag.
Therefore, the utility model discloses an air bag has that material utilization is higher, the cost is lower, the less advantage of volume.
Some preferred embodiments of the airbag according to the invention are described below.
Preferably, the airbag 10 further comprises a covering portion 14 for at least partially covering the missing portion 10C resulting from the cutting operation. This contributes to a more complete appearance of the airbag.
Preferably, the covering portion further comprises a connecting branch portion for connecting a portion of the cutout portion to the body portion. For example, the covering portion may be arranged to connect a right end of the intercepting portion as shown in fig. 1 to the main body portion to ensure that the intercepting portion extends in a predetermined direction with respect to the main body portion in the deployed state.
Preferably, the cover is formed from a single layer of fabric. This is advantageous in that the utilization of the material is further improved and the cost is reduced while providing the airbag with a more complete appearance.
Preferably, the cutout is formed in an L-shape. This is advantageous in providing protection to a large extent, but the airbag of the present invention is not limited thereto, and the cutout portion may be formed in other shapes, for example, a semicircular shape.
Preferably, the intercepting part is rotated at a certain angle with respect to the body part at the connection with the body part to reach a predetermined direction. This is merely an example, and a person skilled in the art may design the direction setting manner between the intercepting part and the main body part according to actual situations.
Fig. 2(a) -2 (c) schematically illustrate a manufacturing method for manufacturing an airbag according to an embodiment of the present invention. A manufacturing method for manufacturing an airbag according to an embodiment of the present invention is described below with reference to fig. 2(a) -2 (c).
The manufacturing method according to the utility model comprises the following steps:
as shown in fig. 2(a), a cut-out portion 11 is formed by cutting out a part of the airbag 10, and the other part of the airbag 10 forms a main body portion 12, wherein the cut-out portion 11 remains integral with the main body portion 12, specifically, at the left end of the cut-out portion 11;
as shown in fig. 2(B), as mentioned above, the left end of the cutout 11 is folded twice along the first fold line 11A and the second fold line 111B, and thereafter, the cutout 11 is oriented with respect to the main body 12 using the orienting member 13 so that the cutout 11 is oriented in a predetermined direction with respect to the main body in the unfolded state; and
as shown in fig. 2(c), the covering part 14 is covered to the missing part caused by the clipping operation.
Among the above steps, the step shown in fig. 2(c) is an optional step, and whether to implement the step may be selected according to actual situations.
It will be appreciated that the advantages described above with reference to the airbag of the invention apply equally to the manufacturing method according to the invention.
As described above, although the exemplary embodiments of the present invention have been described in the description with reference to the drawings, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and the scope of the present invention should be defined by the claims and their equivalents.
