Detailed Description
Reference will now be made in detail to the exemplary embodiments, examples of which are illustrated in the accompanying drawings. When the following description refers to the accompanying drawings, like numbers in different drawings represent the same or similar elements unless otherwise indicated. The implementations described in the exemplary embodiments below are not intended to represent all implementations consistent with the present disclosure. Rather, they are merely examples of apparatus and methods consistent with certain aspects of the present disclosure, as detailed in the appended claims.
Fig. 1 is a cross-sectional view illustrating a waterproof side key device according to an exemplary embodiment. Referring to fig. 1, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present disclosure, a waterproof side key apparatus includes: a housing 1; a partition wall 4, the partition wall 4 defining a first cavity CH1 and a second cavity CH2 isolated from each other within the housing 1, and the partition wall 4 including a through hole 6 communicating the first cavity CH1 and the second cavity CH 2; and a first flexible circuit board 5, the first flexible circuit board 5 being disposed on a surface of the partition wall 4 within the first cavity CH1 and being hermetically connected to the partition wall 4 at least around the through hole 6, the first flexible circuit board 5 being electrically connected with an internal circuit board such as a PCB circuit board within the second cavity CH2 through an electrical connection 10 penetrating the through hole 6.
The electrical connector 10 comprises a first end 101, a second end 102, and a connection 103 arranged and connected between the first end 101 and the second end 102. The first end 101 of the electrical connector 10 and part of the connection portion 103 are disposed within the through hole 6 so that the electrical connector 10 is electrically connected to the first flexible circuit board 5 through the first end 101, for example. The second end 102 of the electrical connector 10 and part of the connection 103 are arranged inside the second cavity CH 2.
In an exemplary embodiment, taking a mobile phone as an example, the side keys 2 of the mobile phone are mounted in mounting holes on the housing 1. The side key 2 includes a pressing end and an actuating end which are oppositely arranged. The pressing end of the side key 2 extends outwards to the outside of the shell 1, and the action end of the side key 2 is in contact connection with the first flexible circuit board 5. For example, in the case of a mobile phone, the left and right sides of the mobile phone may each be provided with a side key 2. Taking the side key 2 on the left side of the mobile phone as an example, the partition wall 4 extends along the length direction of the mobile phone. The actual size of the partition wall 4 may be designed according to the size of the first flexible circuit board 5.
The distance of the partition wall 4 from the side of the case 1 in the width direction of the mobile phone can be designed as desired. For example, the through holes 6 of the partition wall 4 may be circular holes or square holes. The actual size of the through-hole 6 may be designed according to the size of the electrical connector 10. For example, the first flexible circuit board 5 is the first flexible circuit board 5 that does not include a bendable portion. When mounted, the first flexible circuit board 5 extends entirely along the length of the mobile phone and is attached to the partition wall 4. For example, the area of the first flexible circuit board 5 in contact with the periphery of the through-hole 6 may be subjected to a sealing process. For example, the first flexible circuit board 5 may be adhered to the area around the through-hole 6 of the partition wall 4 using an adhesive member such as a waterproof double-sided tape, thereby sealing the through-hole 6. This helps prevent water from seeping through the through-holes 6 and thereby wetting the internal circuit boards or other electrical components located within the second cavity CH 2.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram illustrating one surface of a first flexible circuit board in a waterproof side key device according to an exemplary embodiment. Referring to fig. 2, in an exemplary embodiment, the first flexible circuit board 5 is provided with one or more electronic switches 12 on a surface remote from the partition wall 4. The electronic switch 12 is arranged to trigger different functions of the mobile phone. These functions may be, for example, turning the power of the mobile phone on or off, increasing or decreasing the volume of the mobile phone, etc. The waterproof side key device further comprises a key core 3 matched with the side key 2. The key core 3 is configured to be in contact with the electronic switch 12. In use, a user presses the side key 2, and the side key 2 triggers the electronic switch 12 to be turned on. At this time, the corresponding function circuit is turned on, and the mobile phone performs the function. For example, the number of the electronic switches 12 is equal to the number of the side keys 2. For the side key waterproof device, a waterproof plug is not required to be arranged between the key core 3 and the electronic switch 12, so that the installation is simplified, the cost is saved, the problem of reduction of the waterproof performance of the mobile phone caused by abrasion and aging due to the back-and-forth movement of the waterproof plug is avoided, and the reliability of the mobile phone is improved.
In an exemplary embodiment, the joint of the electronic switch 12 and the first flexible circuit board 5 is coated with a waterproof adhesive, which is advantageous to improve the waterproof effect.
The electronic switch 12 may be plural, for example, two or more. The specific number of electronic switches 12 may be designed as desired. In the exemplary embodiment shown in fig. 2, the first flexible circuit board 5 is provided with three electronic switches 12 on the surface facing away from the partition wall 4. These electronic switches 12 are arranged at intervals in a line on the first flexible circuit board 5. Each electronic switch 12 is in contact connection with a side key 2 having a corresponding function. When the side key 2 is pressed, the key core 3 engaged with the side key 2 triggers the electronic switch 12, so that the corresponding functional circuit is turned on. For example, the electronic switch 12 may have a reset function or the like, and each time the electronic switch 12 is pressed, adjustment of the corresponding function is performed. For example, each time the volume is increased by one depression, the electronic switch 12 is reset after performing one function adjustment. For example, a waterproof adhesive may be applied to the joint of the electronic switch 12 and the first flexible circuit board 5 by means of dispensing to prevent water from penetrating into the second cavity CH2 from a gap at the joint of the electronic switch 12 and the first flexible circuit board 5.
Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram illustrating another surface of the first flexible circuit board in a waterproof side key device according to an exemplary embodiment. Referring to fig. 3, in an exemplary embodiment, the first flexible circuit board 5 includes a terminal area 7 disposed on a surface facing the partition wall 4. The lands 7 are arranged in alignment with the through holes 6 and the first ends 101 of the electrical connectors 10 are electrically connected to the lands 7 of the first flexible circuit board 5. The second end 102 of the electrical connector 10 is electrically connected to an internal circuit board within the second cavity CH 2. For example, the terminal area 7 may be rectangular or circular. For example, the size of the land 7 may be equal to the size of the via 6. The wiring region 7 is arranged opposite to the through hole 6. For example, the peripheral area of the land 7 in contact with the through-hole 6 may be sealed with a first waterproof member 9 such as a waterproof double-sided tape, as shown in fig. 1 and 3. That is, the first waterproof member 9 may be provided on the surface of the first flexible circuit board 5 on which the wiring region 7 is provided, and does not cover the wiring region 7. By doing so, the electrical connector 10 may electrically connect the first flexible circuit board 5 and the internal circuit boards respectively located at both sides of the through hole 6, that is, electrically connect the first flexible circuit board 5 and the internal circuit boards respectively located in the first cavity CH1 and the second cavity CH2, through the through hole 6. This prevents the first flexible circuit board 5 from forming a gap by crossing the partition wall 4, which is advantageous for improving the waterproof effect.
In the exemplary embodiment, the termination region 7 has a plurality of terminal pads 8, and the electrical connector 10 is electrically connected to the first flexible circuit board 5 through the terminal pads 8. For example, in the exemplary embodiment shown in fig. 3, the terminal area 7 is provided with four terminal pads 8. The four connection pads 8 may correspond to four different functional circuits for turning on the power of the mobile phone, turning off the power, increasing the volume, and decreasing the volume, respectively. For example, three or five terminal pads 8 may be provided in the terminal area 7 as necessary. For example, when the wiring region 7 is rectangular, four wiring pads 8 may be arranged in a line and at equal intervals.
In an exemplary embodiment, the waterproof side key device 16 further includes a side key 2 disposed in the mounting hole of the housing 1, one end of the side key 2 is located in the first cavity CH1 and contacts the first flexible circuit board 5, and the other end of the side key 2 extends out of the housing 1.
In the extending direction of the first flexible circuit board 5, the electronic switch 12 and the wiring region 7 can be arranged in a staggered manner, and the two do not interfere with each other.
The waterproof side key device provided by the embodiment of the disclosure cancels a bendable part on the first flexible circuit board 5, avoids a gap formed by the first flexible circuit board 5 when the first flexible circuit board crosses over the retaining wall, and is beneficial to improving the waterproof performance. Meanwhile, the first flexible circuit board 5 without the bendable part has low requirements on industrial design and space layout, can be compatible with the existing structure of the mobile phone side key 2, and has stronger applicability. In addition, the first flexible circuit board 5 with the bendable portion eliminated is beneficial to reducing the production cost and is convenient to assemble.
In the exemplary embodiment, a first flashing member 9 is further included, which is arranged between the edge of the termination area 7 and the partition wall 4, the effective width of the first flashing member 9 being greater than or equal to 0.8 mm. For example, the first waterproof member 9 may adhere the first flexible circuit board 5 to the partition wall 4, and the adhering region of the waterproof double-sided tape may match the shapes of the through hole 6 and the wiring region 7, for example, when the through hole 6 and the wiring region 7 are both circular, the adhering region is circular. For example, when the through hole 6 and the land 7 are both square, the paste area is square. For example, the effective width of the first waterproof member 9 may be 0.8mm or 1 mm. The effective width can be adjusted according to the waterproof rating. The higher the water resistance rating, the greater the effective width. For example, the effective width may be understood as the width of the actual adhesion area of the first flexible circuit board 5 to the partition wall 4 in a plane parallel to the surface of the partition wall 4. For example, in order to improve the waterproof grade, the first waterproof member 9 may cover an area of the surface of the first flexible circuit board 5 other than the wire connection region 7.
In the exemplary embodiment, the housing 1 includes a first housing 1A and a second housing 1B that are snap-fitted to each other. The partition wall 4 is vertically provided on a surface of the second casing 1B facing the first casing 1A. One end of the partition wall 4 close to the first casing 1A is hermetically connected to the first casing 1A. When the electronic apparatus of the present disclosure is a mobile phone, the first casing 1A may be a battery rear cover of the mobile phone, and the second casing 1B may be a middle frame of the mobile phone. For example, the position of the side key 2 mounting hole may be provided on the surface of the first casing 1A, the surface of the second casing 1B, or the connection between the first casing 1A and the second casing 1B. The selection of the specific position can be selected according to actual needs.
In the exemplary embodiment, a second waterproof member 11, such as a waterproof double-sided tape or waterproof foam, is provided between one end of the partition wall 4 near the first casing 1A and the first casing 1A. Since there is no need to install the bent portion of the first flexible circuit board 5 at the joint of the partition wall 4 and the first housing 1A, providing the second waterproof member 11 at the joint is advantageous in improving the waterproof effect. For example, the joint of the partition wall 4 and the first casing 1A may be sealed with a waterproof double-sided tape.
In the exemplary embodiment, the partition wall 4 abuts against the first housing 1A near one end of the first housing 1A, and is sealingly connected to the first housing 1A. Due to the influence of the manufacturing process and the installation accuracy, there may be a gap between the top surface of the partition wall 4 and the first housing 1A, and a second waterproof member 11 such as waterproof foam or waterproof double-sided tape is disposed at the gap to block the gap, so that even if water enters through the installation hole of the side key 2 on the housing 1, the water does not penetrate into the second cavity CH2 to affect the internal circuit board or other electrical components in the second cavity CH 2.
Fig. 4 is a partial structural view illustrating a waterproof side key device according to an exemplary embodiment, and referring to fig. 4, in an exemplary embodiment, the electrical connector 10 may include a contact dome, a wire, or a second flexible circuit board. The electrical connector 10 penetrates through the through hole 6, a first end 101 of the electrical connector 10 is connected with the wiring pad 8, and a second end 102 is electrically connected with the circuit board. For example, for the connection of the terminal areas 7 on the first flexible circuit board 5 with the internal circuit board, an electrically conductive electrical connection 10 can be used for the connection. For example, the electrical connection 10 may be a flexible electrical connection or a rigid electrical connection, the main function of which is to place the first flexible circuit board 5 in communication with the internal circuit board.
In an exemplary embodiment, the electrical connector 10 may be a contact dome. For example, each of the first end 101 and the second end 102 of the electrical connector 10 may be provided with a plurality of pins, and the width of each of the pins of the first end 101 and the pins of the second end 102 may be greater than the width of the connecting portion 103 for facilitating the connection. Meanwhile, the number of pins of the first end portion 101 matches the number of the wire bonding pads 8 so that each circuit connected to the wire bonding pads 8 corresponds to an independent function. For example, the connection portion 103 of the electrical connector 10 may be soldered on the inner wall of the bottom of the through-hole 6, and the pin of the first end portion 101 may be in interference contact with the terminal pad 8, or may be soldered on the terminal pad 8. For example, for the lead, it is possible to connect to the terminal pad 8 and the internal circuit board by soldering. For example, for the second flexible circuit board, an anisotropic glue may be used for adhesive connection with the terminal areas 7. In an exemplary embodiment, the contact dome may be designed to be provided with contact structures at both ends.
In the exemplary embodiment, the wall surface of the partition wall 4 is perpendicular to the pressing direction of the side key 2. With this arrangement, it is advantageous to improve the response accuracy when the side key 2 is pressed, and it is possible to avoid a reduction in the accuracy of the operation due to the deviation of the point of application.
Fig. 5 is a partial structural view illustrating a waterproof side key device according to still another exemplary embodiment. Referring to fig. 5, in the exemplary embodiment, a support plate 14 is provided on the second housing 1B at an edge near the side key 2. The support plates 14 are disposed in parallel with a space between the partition walls 4. The first flexible circuit board 5 is sandwiched between the support plate 14 and the partition wall 4. The support plate 14 is arranged to correspond to the terminal area 7 of the first flexible circuit board 5, i.e. the support plate 14 may be arranged in alignment with the terminal area 7 and the support plate 14 may be arranged in a staggered arrangement with respect to the electronic switch 12. For example, when the first flexible circuit board 5 is connected to the internal circuit board by using a contact spring, the contact spring may push the first flexible circuit board 5 away from the partition wall 4, resulting in a sealing failure. For another example, as the usage time increases, the first waterproof member 9 may age and fail, so that the first flexible circuit board 5 falls off the partition wall 4. Therefore, the support plate 14 is disposed on the second casing 1B, and the support plate 14 is connected to the surface of the first flexible circuit board 5 opposite to the partition wall 4 in an abutting manner, and supports and fixes the first flexible circuit board 5. This is advantageous in improving the reliability of the waterproof side key device 16. For example, the support plate 14 may have any suitable shape, such as a rectangular shape. For example, the supporting plate 14 may be arranged in plural, the plural supporting plates 14 are in the same line, and a gap is reserved between two adjacent supporting plates 14, so that the key core 3 can press the electronic switch 12.
Fig. 6 is a schematic structural diagram of an electronic device according to an exemplary embodiment. Referring to fig. 6, according to a second aspect of the embodiments of the present disclosure, there is provided an electronic apparatus 15 including a waterproof side key device 16. The waterproof side key device 16 may be the waterproof side key device described in any of the above embodiments. The electronic device 15 includes, for example, various mobile terminals. For example, the mobile terminal may be a mobile phone, a tablet, a personal digital assistant, and the like.
