Description

Orthodontic appliance and orthodontic device comprising same
Technical Field
The present invention relates to an orthodontic appliance for anterior teeth and an orthodontic device including the same, and more particularly, to an orthodontic appliance for anterior teeth integrally connecting a plurality of anterior teeth so as to transmit orthodontic force to the anterior teeth and an orthodontic device including the same.
Background
In modern people, the appearance of a person, and in particular the impression of his face, can be a criterion for judgment in employment or interview and is a very important factor in human interaction and social life. In particular, the dentition condition of a person becomes a factor that decisively influences his/her personal impression. Therefore, orthodontic treatment for improving the tooth condition, tooth arrangement, or arrangement of facial bones has become widespread in addition to cosmetic surgery.
Such orthodontic treatment, i.e., tooth straightening treatment for straightening curved teeth, is intended to improve various bone abnormalities that may occur during growth, thereby achieving normal functions and contributing to a healthy oral structure. In addition, orthodontic treatment can alter the oral anatomy, providing a beautiful facial contour and a healthy facial image.
Orthodontic treatment can be classified into orthodontic treatment for improving abnormal arrangement of teeth, such as malocclusion by gradually displacing teeth, orthodontic treatment for promoting or inhibiting growth of facial bones during growth, and orthognathic surgery for improving bones by surgery on facial bones, particularly jawbones.
There are cases where: orthodontic treatment is impossible only by simple displacement of teeth because abnormal occlusion between upper and lower teeth or abnormal structure of jawbone is too severe. In this case, a growth modification in a jawbone structure having a small abnormality in adolescence, or an orthognathic operation for changing facial function and/or beauty by performing a surgical operation on a jawbone having a moderate or severe abnormality in adulthood may also be applied simultaneously with the above orthodontic treatment.
Orthodontic treatment can also be broadly divided into labial orthodontic treatment and lingual orthodontic treatment. Labial orthodontic treatment is treatment for straightening teeth by attaching orthodontic elements for straightening teeth to a tooth surface facing the lips (outer surface of teeth), and lingual orthodontic treatment is treatment for straightening teeth by attaching orthodontic elements to a tooth surface facing the tongue (inner surface of teeth).
Orthodontic treatment may take a long time depending on the state of a patient. Orthodontic treatment is performed in various applications to prevent a phenomenon in which anterior teeth become densely arranged and a phenomenon in which gaps between adjacent anterior teeth are widened, to improve maxillary protrusion and to eliminate spaces formed by tooth extraction or tooth loss.
Among the various orthodontic treatments, the orthodontic treatment for moving the anterior teeth toward the tongue, i.e., toward the palate is called lingual traction. When the teeth are abnormally protruded forward, the teeth may cause a protrusion mouth phenomenon. As a solution for the orthodontic protrusion, the above lingual traction is proposed. Also, in orthodontics with densely arranged anterior teeth, the gap between the anterior teeth is widened when the anterior teeth are pulled. For lingual traction, i.e., posterior movement of the anterior teeth, an arcuate wire, which is curved to correspond to the shape of the anterior teeth row, is mounted on the lingual or labial surfaces of the anterior teeth by a wire support (bracket).
However, when the above orthodontic treatment, i.e., the orthodontic treatment is performed, there may be a problem in that the anterior teeth are inclined (collapsed) or the vertical positions of the anterior teeth become unbalanced when the teeth are pulled backward.

In contrast, when an element is referred to as being "directly connected" to another element, there are no intervening elements present.
Referring to fig. 1 and 2, an anterior orthodontic appliance and an orthodontic device (orthodontic system) including the same according to an embodiment (first embodiment) of the present invention are illustrated. In the drawings of the embodiment, fig. 1 is a view schematically illustrating an anterior orthodontic appliance and an orthodontic device including the same according to an embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2 is a view illustrating a state in which the orthodontic device shown in fig. 1 is mounted on teeth.
Referring to fig. 1 and 2, the orthodontic appliance for anterior teeth according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes an anterior tooth unit 100, a connection member 150, and an orthodontic hook H. The orthodontic device 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention includes an anterior orthodontic appliance according to the present invention, a right molar unit 200 securable to a right molar, and a left molar unit 300 securable to a left molar.
The anterior tooth unit 100 can be fixed to anterior teeth so as to collectively displace a plurality of anterior teeth RAa, RAb, RAc, LAa, LAb, and LAc, and the anterior tooth unit 100 includes anterior orthodontic bodies 110 and 120 fixed to the plurality of anterior teeth RAa, RAb, RAc, LAa, LAb, and LAc, and a pair of guide wires 130 and 140 provided at the anterior orthodontic bodies.
More specifically, the anterior orthodontic body includes an anterior base 110 and at least one anterior connection member 120.
The front tooth base 110 may be fixed to a plurality of front teeth, respectively, and for example, may be adhered to a tooth surface (surface of a tooth). The surface of the anterior tooth base 110 may be formed by 3D printing or the like to have a shape corresponding to the curvature of the tooth surface, which is the target to which the anterior tooth base 110 is to be fixed. Of course, the front tooth base 110 may be integrally joined to the front tooth connecting member 120 at intervals, such as by welding.
According to this embodiment, the anterior tooth bases 110 are attached to the lingual surfaces of the anterior teeth, respectively. Although the anterior orthodontic body may be fixed to six anterior teeth as in this embodiment, the position of the anterior orthodontic body is not limited thereto. For example, the orthodontic body may be fixed to only four anterior teeth, such as the central and lateral incisors. Further, the anterior orthodontic bodies may be fixed to the right and left molars in addition to the six anterior teeth, as in another embodiment described later, for example, the anterior orthodontic bodies may be fixed to the right and left first premolars in addition to the six anterior teeth, as in the embodiment shown in fig. 6.
The anterior tooth connecting member 120 may integrally connect the anterior tooth bases 110 to each other for common movement of the anterior tooth bases 110. The anterior tooth connecting member 120 may be constituted by a single continuous member, such as a wire, may be manufactured by preparing a plurality of sheets and then coupling them into a single member, or may be integrally formed with the anterior tooth base 110 by 3D printing or the like.
A pair of guide wires 130 and 140 may extend rearwardly from both ends of the anterior orthodontic body to guide displacement, e.g., rearward displacement (distraction), of the anterior orthodontic body. In this embodiment, the guide wires 130 and 140 may be integrally formed with the anterior orthodontic body and may extend from right and left canine bases fixed to the right and left canine RAc and LAc. However, the connection position of the guide wires 130 and 140 is not limited thereto.
A connection member 150 may be provided at the anterior tooth unit 100 for selectively installing the orthodontic hook H according to the tooth state of the patient, and may connect the anterior tooth unit 100 to the orthodontic hook H. In this embodiment, the orthodontic hook H may be prepared (manufactured) separately from the anterior tooth unit 100 and may be coupled to the anterior tooth unit 100.
The orthodontic hook H may be selected so as to have a structure (length, inclination angle and orientation) suitable for the tooth condition of the patient, and may be mounted on the anterior tooth unit 100 coupled thereto. The orthodontic hook H may be connected to an elastic member (not shown), such as a rubber band or a spring, for displacing the anterior teeth.
Each of the connectors 150 may include a hook fitting portion 151, and an end of the orthodontic hook H is inserted into the hook fitting portion 151. The connection member 150 may have a tube such that the end of the orthodontic hook H is inserted into the tube, as in this embodiment. The hook fitting portion 151 may be configured to have a hole shape, such as a polygonal hole shape, capable of preventing the orthodontic hook from rotating. Of course, the hook fitting portion may be configured to have a slot or groove shape.
The connection 150 may be provided at the anterior orthodontic body, such as the anterior connection member 120, or may be provided at the guide wires 130 and 140. In this embodiment, the connector 150 is integrally formed with the anterior tooth attachment member 120, as already described above.
More specifically, the connection member 150 includes a right connection member disposed at the right side of the front tooth unit 100 and a left connection member disposed at the left side of the front tooth unit 100. Thus, the orthodontic hooks H include right orthodontic hooks H1 and left orthodontic hooks H2.
The guide wires include a right guide wire 130 and a left guide wire 140, the right guide wire 130 extending rearward from a right side portion of the orthodontic body, and the left guide wire 140 extending rearward from a left side portion of the orthodontic body.
The connector 150 may be provided at a posterior region (tongue region) defined at a region between a proximal region of the lateral incisor bases of the anterior base 100 (anterior base attached to the lateral incisors RAb and LAb) and a distal region of the canine bases of the anterior base 100 (anterior base attached to the canine RAb and LAc). Thus, the orthodontic hook H can be attached to the lateral incisors or the posterior region of the canine. In this embodiment, although the connectors 150 are provided in the posterior regions of the right incisors RAb and the left incisors LAb, respectively, the positions of the connectors 150 are not limited thereto.
According to this embodiment, for the individual orthodontic treatment based on the diagnosis information of the patient, orthodontic hooks suitable for the individual tooth condition of the patient are selected and then mounted on the connection member 150. Therefore, the present invention can apply orthodontic force to a correct position in a correct direction, and thus can precisely perform orthodontic treatment.
The orthodontic hook H may be fitted into the connection member 150 and then may be fixed to the connection member 150 by a mechanical process such as compression of the connection member 150 or a chemical process such as bonding using an adhesive (adhesive resin).
The right molar unit 200 includes at least one right molar base 210 and a right guide member 220, the right molar base 210 being capable of being fixed to at least one of the right molars RMa, RMb and RMc, and the right guide member 220 being integrally formed with the right molar base 210.
The right guide member 220 guides the forward and backward movement of the right guide wire 130 of the guide wire, and the right guide wire 130 is slidably inserted into the right guide member 220 in the longitudinal direction.
The left molar unit 300 includes at least one left molar base 310 and a left guide member 320, the left molar base 310 being capable of being fixed to at least one of the left molars LMa, LMb and LMc, and the left guide member 320 being integrally formed with the left molar base 310.
The left guide member 320 guides the front-rear movement of the left guide wire 140 among the guide wires, and the left guide wire 140 is slidably inserted into the left guide member 320 in the longitudinal direction.
For this, the right and left guide members 220 and 320 have respective string holes 221 and 321, and the guide wires 130 and 140 are inserted into the string holes 221 and 321, respectively. The right guide member 220 and the left guide member 320 may be, for example, pipe-type guides.
Although it is shown in fig. 1 that the string holes 221 and 321 have a circular cross-section, the cross-section of the string holes is not limited thereto. For example, the wire holes 221 and 321 may have a rectangular cross-section.
Therefore, when the anterior orthodontic appliance is pulled backward by connecting the rubber band to the orthodontic hook H, the right and left guide wires 130 and 140 move backward while being guided by the right and left guide members 220 and 320.
The right and left molar units 200 and 300 support the right and left guide wires 130 and 140, respectively, and the force from the guide wires 130 and 140 is transmitted to the right and left molar units 200 and 300. Accordingly, the displacement of the front teeth and the molar orthodontic treatment can be performed by the action and reaction between the front orthodontic appliance and the right molar unit 200 and the action and reaction between the front orthodontic appliance and the left molar unit 300.
In this embodiment, the right molar unit 200 includes a plurality of right molar bases 210 that can be fixed to a plurality of right molars, respectively, and the right molar bases 210 have a surface shape corresponding to the shape of the teeth to be treated.
The right molar unit 200 also includes at least one right molar connecting member 230 that integrally connects the right molar bases 210 to each other to collectively displace the right molar bases 210. Although the right guide member 220 is provided at the right molar connection member 230, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the right guide member 220 may be provided directly at any one of the right molar bases 210.
The left molar unit 300 includes a plurality of left molar bases 310 that can be fixed to a plurality of left molars, respectively, and the left molar bases 310 also have surface shapes corresponding to the shapes of the teeth to be treated.
The left molar unit 300 includes at least one left molar connection member 330 integrally connecting the left molar bases 310 to each other to collectively displace the left molar bases 310. Although the left guide member 320 is provided at the left molar connection member 330, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the left guide member 320 may be provided directly at any one of the left molar bases 310.
The right molar connecting member 320 may be constructed of a single continuous member, such as a wire, may be manufactured by preparing multiple pieces and then coupling them into a single member, or may be integrally formed with the right molar base 210 by 3D printing or the like.
The left molar connecting member 330 may also be constructed of a single continuous member, such as a wire, may be manufactured by preparing multiple pieces and then coupling them into a single member, or may be integrally formed with the left molar base 310 by 3D printing or the like.
The orthodontic appliance and the orthodontic device according to the embodiment, which are applied to orthodontic treatment of the upper teeth (e.g., maxillary protrusion), are configured to perform orthodontic treatment in such a manner that the right second premolar, the right first molar and the right second molar are connected to each other by the right molar unit 200 and the left second premolar, the left first molar and the left second molar are connected to each other by the left molar unit 300.
The orthodontic device 10 according to an embodiment of the present invention may further include a cross palatal arch (TPA)400 connecting the right molar unit 200 to the left molar unit 300. In this embodiment, the lateral arch wire 400 is integrally connected at its right end to the right guide member 220 and at its left end to the left guide member 320.
The lateral arch 400 may be provided with a support 410 for a resilient member such as a rubber band. The right molar tooth unit 200, the left molar tooth unit 300, and the lateral faucial pillar line 400 may be integrally formed with each other by 3D printing.
When the front orthodontic appliance, the right molar unit 200 and the left molar unit 300 are fixed to the front teeth, the right molar teeth and the left molar teeth, respectively, the tensioned elastic band is then connected to the orthodontic hook H at one end thereof and the lateral palatal arch wire 400 at the other end thereof, and a backward pulling force can be applied to the front teeth RAa, RAb, RAc, LAa, Lab, LAc by the front orthodontic appliance.
Other embodiments 10A and 10B of the present invention will now be described with reference to fig. 3 and 4.
Each of the orthodontic devices according to the second and third embodiments 10A and 10B of the present invention includes an anterior orthodontic appliance, a right molar unit 200A, and a left molar unit 300A.
The orthodontic appliance of the anterior tooth according to the second embodiment 10A or the third embodiment 10B of the present invention includes an anterior tooth unit 100A or 100B, a connecting member 150, and an orthodontic hook H. The anterior tooth unit 100A or 100B according to this embodiment includes an anterior tooth connection member 120 made of a bent wire so as to commonly connect anterior tooth bases to each other.
The connector 150 according to the second embodiment of the present invention 10A is connected to the canine base (which is attached to the canine) in the anterior base 110, and the connector 150 according to the third embodiment of the present invention 10B is connected to the lateral incisor base (which is attached to the lateral incisors) in the anterior base 110.
The palatal arch wire 400 according to the second or third embodiment 10A or 10B of the present invention is coupled to the right and left molar units 200A and 300A. Specifically, the lateral faucial pillar wire 400 is fitted into the right guide member 220 of the right molar unit 200A at the right end thereof and into the left guide member 320 of the left molar unit 300A at the left end thereof. The palatal arch wire 400 may be secured to the right and left molar units 200A and 300A by compression of the right and left guide members 220 and 320, adhesive, or the like.
To this end, the right guide member 220 includes a first wire hole 221 into which the right guide wire 130 is inserted and a second wire hole (arcuate wire fitting hole) 222 into which the right end of the lateral palatal arcuate wire 400 is inserted.
Similarly, the left guide member 320 includes a first wire hole 321 into which the left guide wire 140 is inserted and a second wire hole (an arch wire fitting hole) 322 into which the left end of the lateral palatal arch wire 400 is inserted.
The lateral arch wire 400 may be provided with a support member 410, and an elastic member such as a rubber band is connected to the support member 410. The number, structure and position of the supporters 410 may be variously changed. Since the description provided in connection with the first embodiment is equally applicable to the rest of the second and third embodiments 10A and 10B (not described above), redundant description about the undescribed parts of the second and third embodiments 10A and 10B is omitted except for the structure of the anterior tooth connection member, the position of the connection member 150, and the connection structure of the palatal arch wire 400.
Other embodiments 10C and 10D of the present invention will now be described with reference to fig. 5 and 6.
The orthodontic appliance of the fourth embodiment 10C or the fifth embodiment 10D and the orthodontic device including the same according to the present invention include the connection 150 provided at the right guide line 130 and the left guide line 140, respectively, and more particularly, the connection 150 is connected to the canine base of the anterior base 110, which is attached to the canine.
The anterior orthodontic body according to the fifth embodiment 10D of the present invention further includes premolar bases 110A and 110B which are fixed to molars such as first premolars and integrally connected to the anterior base 110.
In other words, according to the fifth embodiment 10D of the present invention, with the above-described anterior orthodontic appliance, six anterior teeth as well as the right and left first premolars are commonly connected to each other to form a single body.
The orthodontic appliance according to the fifth embodiment 10D of the present invention can perform orthodontic treatment in such a manner that the space where the second premolar tooth previously exists is closed using the rearward pulling force applied by the orthodontic appliance. The right molar unit 200B according to the fifth embodiment 10D is configured to connect only two right molars into a single body, and the left molar unit 300B is configured to connect only two left molars into a single body.
Of course, the right molar unit 200B and/or the left molar unit 300B may include only one molar base, depending on the patient's dental condition. In this case, the molar connection members are omitted, and the guide members 220 and 320 themselves are integrally formed with the molar bases 210 and 310. However, in order to stably support the displacement of the orthodontic appliance for the front teeth while suppressing the displacement of the molars, it is preferable that a plurality of molars are integrally connected to each other.
According to the fifth embodiment 10D, the lateral faucial pillar wire may be omitted. In this case, a fastening element such as a screw type anchor (not shown) may be embedded in the jaw, and the anterior tooth can be displaced by the elastic force of the elastic band when the elastic band is connected to the orthodontic support and the anchor.
Since the description provided in connection with the first to third embodiments is equally applicable to the rest of the fourth embodiment 10C and the fifth embodiment 10D (not described above), redundant description about the undescribed portions of the fourth embodiment 10C and the fifth embodiment 10D is omitted except for the position of the connecting piece 150, the number of premolar bases, the number of right molar bases, and the number of left molar bases.
An orthodontic appliance and an orthodontic device of an embodiment according to the present invention may be designed in a computer based on tooth image data (panoramic image, head measurement image, or the like) of a patient, and then may be manufactured using a 3D processing apparatus, for example, a Rapid Prototyping (RP) apparatus. In other words, the 3D printing device based on CAD/CAM technology can be used to manufacture the orthodontic appliance according to the invention.
The orthodontic appliance for the anterior teeth and the orthodontic device including the orthodontic appliance for the anterior teeth according to the present invention have the following advantages.
First, according to the present invention, the displacement of the anterior teeth, for example, the posterior displacement, can be stably achieved. Further, since the orthodontic hook having a configuration (orientation, angle, length, etc.) suitable for the tooth condition of the patient can be selected and applied to orthodontic treatment, adverse effects such as collapse of anterior teeth generated during displacement of the anterior teeth can be minimized or prevented.
Second, according to the present invention, in addition to the effect of the displacement of the anterior teeth, the intrusion or squeezing effect of the molar teeth can be obtained through the action and reaction between the orthodontic appliance of the anterior teeth and the right molar tooth unit and the action and reaction between the orthodontic appliance of the anterior teeth and the left molar tooth unit. Furthermore, the frictional resistance of the orthodontic wire (guide wire) can be minimized during displacement of the orthodontic appliance.
Third, according to the present invention, since the orthodontic appliance for the anterior teeth for pulling the anterior teeth and the orthodontic system (device) including the orthodontic appliance for the anterior teeth can be easily and quickly installed in the oral cavity, easy orthodontic treatment can be realized, the displacement of the anterior teeth can be effectively guided, and inconvenience to the patient and the effect of quick orthodontic treatment can be reduced. In addition, according to the present invention, orthodontic treatment is facilitated since the used orthodontic hook can be replaced with a new orthodontic hook.
Although the preferred embodiments of the present invention have been disclosed for illustrative purposes, those skilled in the art will appreciate that various modifications, additions and substitutions are possible, without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention as disclosed in the accompanying claims.
