For example, in the example of fig. 4 and 5, the steering wheel angle and torque sensor receives the current steering angle of the steering wheel 21 and the torque information input by the steering wheel 21, and transmits the current steering angle and torque information to the driving mode control module, and the vehicle speed signal acquisition module acquires the current vehicle speed information and feeds the current vehicle speed information back to the driving mode control module. When the vehicle 200 needs to enter the manual driving mode, the driving mode control module first controls the left clutch 5 to be engaged and the right clutch 5 to be disengaged, the steering wheel extension and steering motor 41 drives the steering wheel extension wheel 311 to rotate, the steering wheel 21 extends out automatically, after the steering wheel 21 reaches a proper position, the driving mode control module controls the left clutch 5 to be disengaged and the right clutch 5 to be engaged, and the driving mode control module controls the steering wheel extension and steering motor 41 to output proper power-assisted torque according to the current rotation angle of the steering wheel 21, the input torque information of the steering wheel 21 and the current vehicle speed information received by the rotation angle and torque sensor, so as to drive the steering column 1 to rotate, and realize the speed-following power-assisted and active return functions in the manual driving mode.
When the vehicle 200 is in the automatic driving mode, the steering wheel 21 may be moved downward and hidden, so that the space inside the vehicle may be maximally utilized. Optionally, the steering wheel assembly 100 includes a steering wheel 21 cover plate (not shown). The steering wheel 21 cover panel may be extended and retracted up and down in cooperation with the steering wheel 21, and the steering wheel 21 cover panel may make the overall appearance of the steering wheel assembly 100 more beautiful when the vehicle 200 is hidden and retracted in the autopilot mode.
