Description

Seat belt retractor and seat belt device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to the field of vehicle safety technology, and more particularly, to a seat belt retractor and a seat belt apparatus including such a seat belt retractor.
Background
In motor vehicles, safety belt devices are an important component of occupant restraint systems, and in particular in the event of a traffic accident, they can provide protection for the occupants from injury or minimize injury. With the development and progress of automotive technology, the requirements for the performance of the seatbelt device are continuously increasing.
The seatbelt device has a seatbelt retractor. The seatbelt retractor can be equipped with a sensor unit and a locking mechanism, which are known in the prior art in various forms. The sensing unit can, for example, sense safety-relevant states of the motor vehicle, such as vehicle acceleration and/or vehicle inclination, and activate the locking mechanism in a predetermined situation, so that the spool is locked in the webbing-pull-out direction. The related art can be referred to, for example, patent documents CN109177915A, CN109177916A and CN109159755A of the present applicant.
Safety belt devices with a pretensioning function, which comprise a pretensioning device, are known from the prior art. The pretensioning device can pretension the safety belt in the emergency situation of the vehicle so as to better restrain the vehicle passenger and ensure that the vehicle passenger is better protected. Pretensioning devices are likewise known in the prior art in various forms. For example, known pyrotechnic pretensioning devices can comprise a ball gear and a ball-firing device, wherein, when the gas generator is ignited, a plurality of balls are fired one after the other, striking the ball gear, so that the ball gear rotates the belt drum in the direction of rewinding the web. Pretensioning devices are also known which have a serpentine-shaped flexible strip which can be pushed out and which engages with a toothed wheel and thereby drives the belt drum in the direction of the webbing rewind. Typically, the pretensioning device is arranged on one side of the frame, and the sensing unit and the locking mechanism are arranged on the other side of the frame. This structure is associated with a large structural space requirement.
In some cases, the pretensioning device may provide excessive pretensioning force when activated. After activation of the pretensioning device, it is possible for the vehicle occupant to be over-restrained, wherein an excessive shoulder belt force spike of the webbing could cause injury to the vehicle occupant. For this purpose, a force limiter can be provided in the belt device, which limits the load-bearing capacity of the belt retractor and avoids excessive peak shoulder belt forces. For a related art, see, for example, patent document CN 102227341B.
In the prior art, U-shaped frames are widely used for seat belt retractors. In some cases, the U-shaped frame is not suitable, assembly of the entire seatbelt retractor is difficult, or the overall size of the seatbelt retractor is large. In particular with regard to a belt retractor with a pretensioning function and a force limiting function, there is room for improvement not only in the frame of the belt retractor but also in the overall arrangement of the components of the belt retractor.

In some embodiments, the seatbelt retractor may include a locking mechanism. Preferably, the locking mechanism may include a movable locking pawl and a locking plate, the locking plate being constituted by the second support plate having a third opening with an internal tooth portion, the locking pawl causing the spool to be locked in the webbing-pull-out direction when engaged with the internal tooth portion.
In some embodiments, the seatbelt retractor may include a sensing unit configured to cooperate with the locking mechanism.
In some embodiments, the sensing unit may be disposed on a side of the second support plate facing away from the back plate.
In some embodiments, the sensing unit may be a vehicle acceleration sensing unit, a vehicle inclination angle sensing unit, or a webbing-pull-out acceleration sensing unit.
In some embodiments, the belt retractor can comprise a catch wheel which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the belt drum at an axial end of the belt drum facing the back plate and which carries a movable locking pawl of the locking mechanism which, when engaging with the internal toothing, causes the catch wheel to be locked in the webbing pull-out direction.
In some embodiments, the belt retractor can comprise a pretensioner with a drive element and a driven element, which is arranged directly or indirectly rotationally fixed relative to the belt drum, which pretensioner, when activated, can directly or indirectly drive the belt drum in the direction of belt webbing rewind.

In some embodiments, the belt retractor can comprise a force-limiting device which connects the belt drum to the catch wheel in a rotationally fixed manner and which can transmit a torque between the belt drum and the catch wheel which is below a predetermined threshold value.
In some embodiments, the force limiting device can be configured as a torsion bar which is received in a cavity of the spool and which can be plastically deformed beyond a predetermined torsional load and can thus limit the torque transmitted between the spool and the detent wheel via the torsion bar.
In some embodiments, the torsion bar may have a first end adjacent the first opening and a second end adjacent the second opening, the torsion bar being non-rotatably connected at its first end to the stop wheel and at its second end to the take-up spool.
Alternatively, it is also possible for the torsion bar to be replaced by a torsion spring of particularly high stiffness. During normal operation of the belt retractor and therefore when the load is limited, the torsion of the torsion spring is negligible.
In some further embodiments, the force limiting device may have a rigid structure, which may have a weak point. Due to play or manufacturing tolerances or due to the elasticity of the individual components of the entire connecting system, the two parts to be connected may be slightly rotatable relative to one another. For example, a connection of a gear to a shaft by splines may be referred to as a "rotationally fixed connection". For example, a gear wheel with a non-circular bore and a shaft with a complementary non-circular cross section can be connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner. In contrast, if the gear is hollow on the shaft and the gear can rotate relative to the shaft, this connection can be referred to as a "rotatable connection". It goes without saying that the two parts can rotate together when they are welded or glued together or made in one piece, so that they are connected in a rotationally fixed manner.

In some embodiments, the connection of the first support leg to the first support plate and/or the connection of the second support leg to the second support plate may be by bolting, riveting, bonding and/or welding.
In some embodiments, the end region of each first support leg may be bent inwardly.
In some embodiments, the frame may have two first support legs opposite each other. For example, each first support leg may have two fixing locations. It is also possible that one of the first support legs may have two fixing locations and the other first support leg may have exactly one fixing location. The two first support legs can be of identical or different design.
In some embodiments, the two first support legs may be symmetrical to each other about a longitudinal axis of the seatbelt retractor, wherein each first support leg has two fixing locations for fixing the first support plate.
In some embodiments, the second support legs can each have a curved end region, and the curved end regions of the second support legs have a total of at least three fastening points for fastening the second support plate.
In some embodiments, an end region of each second support leg may be bent inwardly.
In some embodiments, the frame may have four second support legs distributed, each second support leg having a fixing portion for fixing the second support plate.
In some embodiments, the four second support legs may be spaced from each other at uniform angular intervals about a longitudinal axis of the seatbelt retractor.
It goes without saying that it is not necessarily required that all the support legs have fixing portions. For example, in the case of six second support legs, only three of the second support legs may each have a fixing point, while the other three second support legs do not have a fixing point.
In some embodiments, the first and second openings may be configured as rotational bearings of the take-up drum.
In some embodiments, the second opening may be configured as an axial stop for the take-up reel.

The present invention will be described in more detail with reference to the accompanying drawings in conjunction with specific embodiments. The schematic drawings are briefly described as follows:
fig. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view of a seatbelt retractor according to an embodiment of the present invention; and is
Fig. 2 is an exploded view of a part of the belt retractor according to fig. 1.
Detailed Description
An embodiment of a seatbelt retractor according to the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 1 and 2. It is understood that the invention is not limited to the specific embodiments shown in the drawings. The belt retractor and the webbing 2 shown schematically in fig. 1 as a total system can be referred to as a seat belt device.
The seatbelt retractor as shown comprises a belt drum 1 and a frame 8, said belt drum 1 being rotatably supported in the frame 8 and configured for winding up a webbing belt 2. The seatbelt retractor further comprises a sensor unit 10, a locking mechanism 4 and a pretensioning device 7, which are known per se in the prior art, as already mentioned above. In this case, the sensor unit 10, the locking mechanism 4 and the pretensioning device 7 and the force limiting device 3 are optional, and any one or more of these components can be omitted if desired. The sensing unit 10 may be a sensing unit for sensing acceleration of a vehicle, a tilt angle of the vehicle, and/or a webbing-pull-out acceleration. The sensing unit 10 may also comprise a plurality of sub-units, each of which is capable of sensing at least one of the above parameters. The locking mechanism 4 may be activated by the sensing unit 10 when an emergency condition of the vehicle, such as an imminent collision of the vehicle, is sensed by the sensing unit 10.
It is common in the prior art to provide the sensing unit and the locking mechanism on one side of the frame and the pretensioning device on the other side of the frame. In contrast, in this embodiment of the present invention, the sensing unit 10 and the locking mechanism 4 and the pretensioner 7 are disposed on the same side of the frame 8. More specifically, the sensor unit 10 is arranged on the side of the second support plate 9 facing away from the back plate 8h, as will be explained below, and at least the driven element of the pretensioning device 7, for example the ball gear 6, is arranged between the back plate 8h and the second support plate 9.
As shown in fig. 2, the frame 8 includes: a back plate 8h having first and second sides opposite to each other and having a first opening 20; two first support legs 8a, 8b extending from a first side of the back plate opposite to each other; a first support plate 11 having a second opening 21 and being connected to a free end region of the first support leg; four second support legs 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f extending from the second side of the back plate; and a second support plate 9, which is connected to the free end region of the second support leg. The first opening 20 and the second opening 21 receive the winding reel 1. The first support legs 8a, 8b may be formed integrally with the back plate 8 h. The second support legs 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f may be formed integrally with the back plate 8 h.
In fig. 2, the two first support legs 8a, 8b are symmetrical to one another about the longitudinal axis of the belt retractor, the two first support legs 8a, 8b each have an inwardly bent end region, and the inwardly bent end region of each first support leg 8a, 8b has two fastening points for fastening a first support plate 11. The first support plate 11 may be connected to the first support leg by means of bolts, for example.
As can be seen from fig. 2, the frame 8 has four second supporting legs 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f which are arranged distributed over one another, the end regions of each second supporting leg being bent inward and having a fastening point for fastening a second supporting plate 9. The four second support legs 8c, 8d, 8e, 8f may be spaced from each other at uniform angular intervals about the longitudinal axis of the seatbelt retractor. The second support plate 9 can be connected, for example by means of screws, to the inwardly bent free end regions of the second support legs 8c, 8d, 8e, 8 f.
The optional locking mechanism 4 is advantageously integrated in the belt retractor. The locking mechanism 4 can have a locking plate, which is formed by the second support plate 9, and a movable locking pawl, not shown. For this purpose, the second support plate 9 may have a third opening 19, which may have an internal toothing. The locking pawl, when engaged with the internal gear portion, causes the seatbelt retractor to be locked in the webbing-pull-out direction.
The belt retractor can comprise a locking wheel 5, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the belt drum 1 at an axial end of the belt drum 1 facing the back plate 8 h. A locking pawl, not shown, of the locking mechanism 4 can be received in the detent wheel 5, more specifically in a recess, not shown, of the detent wheel 5.
Pretension device 7 can include ball gear 6 and the steel ball emitter of suit on stop wheel 5 anti-rotation ground, a plurality of steel balls can be launched to the steel ball emitter when the activation, the steel ball can drive ball gear 6 in the direction of meshbelt rollback, and ball gear 6 can drive stop wheel 5 and then drive a take-up section of thick bamboo 1 and rotate in the direction of meshbelt rollback, consequently can realize the pretension function of safety belt coiler when needs.
In the sense of the present invention, it is not necessary that the entire pretensioning device 7 is completely in the space between the back plate 8h and the second support plate 9. It will be appreciated that at least a part of the entire pretensioning device 7 is located in the space between the back plate 8h and the second support plate 9. In particular, a driven element of the preloading device 7, which is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the detent wheel 5, for example the ball gear 6, can be arranged completely in the space between the back plate 8h and the second support plate 9. In particular, the drive element of the pretensioning device 7, for example a serpentine element as a ball firing device, can be located only partially in the space between the back plate and the second support plate, or even completely outside this space.
It is particularly advantageous if the force limiting device 3 is integrated as an option in a belt retractor. The force-limiting device 3 connects the winding reel 1 in a rotationally fixed manner to the catch wheel 5, and the force-limiting device 3 can transmit a torque below a predetermined threshold value between the winding reel 1 and the catch wheel 5. As shown in fig. 1, the force limiting device 3 can be designed as a torsion bar which is received in a hollow space of the spool 1 and which can be plastically deformed when a predetermined torsional load is exceeded and can thus limit the torque transmitted between the spool 1 and the detent wheel 5 via the torsion bar. The torsion bar has a first end 3b adjacent to the first opening 20 and a second end 3a adjacent to the second opening 21, and is connected at its first end 3b to the detent wheel 5 in a rotationally fixed manner and at its second end 3a to the winding reel 1 in a rotationally fixed manner.
If the force limiting device 3 shown in fig. 1 is eliminated as an alternative, the winding reel 1 and the stopping wheel 5 as two separate components can also be replaced by one integrated winding reel. In this case, a part of the integrated tape reel can assume the function of the detent wheel 5.
It is also possible that the pretensioning device 7 and the sensor unit 10 as shown in fig. 1 are interchanged. If the pretensioning device 7 shown in fig. 1 is eliminated, as an option, a sensor unit 10 can also be arranged between the back plate 8h and the second support plate 9.
The belt retractor according to fig. 1 and 2 can be operated as follows:
in the event of an emergency situation of the vehicle equipped with the above-described seatbelt retractor, for example, an imminent collision or rollover, the sensing unit 10 may sense the emergency situation of the vehicle, and may urge the locking pawl of the locking mechanism 4 to move away from the rest position until engaging with the internal gear portion of the second support plate 9. The engagement of the locking pawl with the internal toothing causes the detent wheel 5 to be locked in the webbing-pull-out direction, whereupon the take-up drum 1 is locked in the webbing-pull-out direction. Thus, the spool 1 and the stopping wheel 5 are only allowed to rotate in the webbing take-up direction, but not in the webbing pull-out direction.
In addition, the pretensioning device 7 is activated, for example, the gas generator of the pyrotechnic pretensioning device is ignited, the gas generated emits a plurality of steel balls accommodated in a coil, which drive the ball gear 6 one after the other in the webbing rewinding direction, the ball gear 6 being able to drive the detent wheel 5 and thus the take-up spool 1 in the webbing rewinding direction. The steel ball launching device may comprise a meander-like extending coil which is provided with a gas generator at one end and accommodates a plurality of steel balls, and which is aligned with the ball gear 6 at the other end. The steel balls punched out of the coil can impact the teeth of the ball gear and engage into the sockets between the teeth. In figure 1 only one circular cross-section of the coil is schematically depicted.
If the torque to be transmitted between the detent wheel 5 and the spool 1 via the force limiting device 3, which is designed as a torsion bar, exceeds a predetermined threshold value, the torsion bar can be plastically deformed, so that the maximum load of the belt retractor and thus the peak value of the shoulder belt force of the webbing 2 is limited, preventing the vehicle occupant from being injured by an excessively large peak value of the shoulder belt force.
Particularly advantageously, the first opening 20 and the second opening 21 can be formed as a rotary bearing of the tape reel 1. Advantageously, the second opening 21 can be designed as an axial stop for the winding reel 1. Advantageously, the blocking plate 9 can also be designed as an axial stop for the detent wheel 5. Expediently, side covers can additionally be provided at both axial ends of the belt retractor, which cover some components of the belt retractor.
Finally, it is pointed out that the above-described embodiments are only intended to illustrate the invention and do not limit the scope of protection of the invention. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that modifications may be made in the embodiments without departing from the scope of the invention.
