本实用新型在使用时，首先将水注入杯腔乙6，当液面没过挡板乙4后，水流向杯腔甲2，当液面没过挡板甲3的最低点时，将茶叶等浸泡物放入杯腔乙6中，继续向杯腔乙6中注水；如果浸泡物比重较大，则会沉入杯腔乙6的底部，浸泡物中的细小杂质将漂浮在杯腔乙6的液面上，随着注水的增加，浸泡物中的细小杂质被挡板甲3挡住，不能进入杯腔甲2；如果浸泡物比重较小，则会漂浮在杯腔乙6的液面上，随着注水的增加，浸泡物被挡板甲3挡住，不能进入杯腔甲2，从而实现本实用新型的过滤作用。杯体外的保温层5将注入杯体内的热水进行保温，防止热量迅速流失。
