塔式起重机广泛用于高楼大厦建设过程中吊装建筑物料、输送混凝土浆料。混凝土浆料通过地面上的输送泵、垂直设置在塔式起重机伸缩式立梁上的管道输送至建筑物顶层，然后由建筑工人采用推车运到需要布料的地点。这种采用推车人工运输混凝土浆料的方式不仅体力劳动量大，而且效率低。
