Abstract

The invention relates to a novel packaging (1) for CD/DVD, whose base area is greater than the CD/DVD to be packaged. Said packaging comprises a central supporting ring or simply a discoid supporting surface (43) on a base plate (4). Said supporting surface (43) corresponds at maximum to the inner central surface of the CD/DVD, onto which data cannot be written. A retaining button (42) can be placed concentrically on said surface. The retaining button (42) is adapted to the size of the drive opening of the CD/DVD. The packaging has protective sections (20), which protect an inserted CD/DVD against mechanical stress on its edges. Said sections are provided with wings (23) which correspond to the external contour of the CD/DVD to be inserted. The protective sections (20) surround an inserted CD/DVD at least in two diametrically opposed areas.
