反射膜
技术领域
本发明关于一种反射膜,用于液晶显示器的背光反射板,以达到增强液晶显示器亮度的效果。
背景技术
液晶显示器(Liquid Crystal Display,LCD)的成像,首先利用一背光源(back light source)投射出光源,这些光源会先经过一个偏光板,然后再经过液晶分子,此时液晶分子的排列方式会改变穿透液晶的光线的角度,然后这些光线再经过前方的彩色滤光片(color filter)与另一块偏光板。因此,只要改变刺激液晶分子的电压值,就可以控制最后出现的光线强度与色彩,并进而变化出不同深浅的颜色组合。
LCD的亮度除了取决于液晶盒及彩色滤光片的透光率外,另一更重要的因素在于背光源的亮度。因此,若希望提高LCD表面亮度,应从提高背光源亮度着手。
以背光源作为LCD显示功能的重要组件和亮度来源,对提高液晶显示亮度而言非常重要。在本发明之前,业界已尝试多种方式从背光源方面去改进LCD显示亮度,例如,从灯源方面作调整,可借助增加灯管数量及/或增加灯源功率以改进显示亮度,只是会面临体积大及耗电多等缺点。另外,还可以从导光板方面进行改善,然而会面临导光板材料设计方面的困难。
在背光源后涂布一种反射膜,可提高光源发射效率,增加发射亮度。因此,反射膜是液晶显示器中的一个重要组件,其反射率的高低会影响显示的亮度效果。
目前业界所使用的反射膜以聚对苯二甲酸乙酯(Polyethyleneterephthalate,PET)为主要原料,但由于背光源所发射的光含有紫外线(UV),易造成PET黄化,导致反射效果减弱及LCD的色差问题。
本案发明人经广泛研究发现,在聚酯树脂反射膜表面添加紫外线吸收剂和硫酸钡,可使大部分背光源在PET反射膜表面反射,因此可成功阻隔UV,并且可以使反射膜具耐久性,还可降低反射膜的厚度,可有效克服上述缺点。
发明内容
本发明的主要目的在于提供一种用于液晶显示器的背光源的反射膜,它包含以高分子树脂为上下层基材,由聚酯树脂与硫酸钡构成的中间层,其中至少有一层基材表面涂覆有紫外线吸收剂与硫酸钡。上述反射膜中优选在上层基材表面涂覆该紫外线吸收剂与硫酸钡。采用的高分子树脂优选为聚酯树脂(polyester resin)、聚碳酸酯树脂(polycarbonate resin)或聚胺基甲酸酯树脂(polyurethane resin),更优选高分子树脂为聚酯树脂,最优选为聚对苯二甲酸乙酯(PET)或对苯二甲酸乙酯共聚物(co-PET)或其混合物。
本发明的另一个目的在于提供了一种增强液晶显示器亮度的方法,它包含将权利要求1中所述的反射膜用于液晶显示器作为背光源反射膜。
具体实施方式
本发明是关于一种用于液晶显示器的背光源的反射膜,它包含以高分子树脂为上下层基材,及由聚酯树脂与硫酸钡所构成的中间层,其中至少有一层基材表面涂覆有紫外线吸收剂与硫酸钡。
本发明反射膜所使用的高分子树脂可为聚酯树脂(polyester resin)、聚碳酸酯树脂(polycarbonate resin)或聚氨基甲酸酯树脂(polyurethaneresin)或其混合物。根据本发明的一项具体实施例,该高分子树脂为聚酯树脂,它可以是熟悉此项技术者所熟知的泡沫型或非泡沫型聚合物,例如为PET或对苯二甲酸乙酯共聚物(co-PET)或其混合物。
可用于涂覆本发明反射膜表面的紫外线吸收剂,为熟习此项技术的人员所熟知的。
本发明另外还提供一种增强液晶显示器亮度的方法,它包括将上述反射膜使用于液晶显示器中,作为背光源反射膜,以达到增强液晶显示器亮度的功效。

Claims (5)

1.一种反射膜,它包含高分子树脂的上下层基材,和由聚酯树脂与硫酸钡构成的中间层,其中至少有一基材表面涂覆有紫外线吸收剂与硫酸钡。
2.根据权利要求1中所述的反射膜,其特征为上层基材表面涂覆该紫外线吸收剂与硫酸钡。
3.根据权利要求1或2中所述的反射膜,其特征为该高分子树脂为聚酯树脂、聚碳酸酯树脂或聚胺基甲酸酯树脂。
4.根据权利要求3中所述的反射膜,其特征为该高分子树脂为聚酯树脂。
5.根据权利要求4中所述的反射膜,其特征为该聚酯树脂为聚对苯二甲酸乙酯或对苯二甲酸乙酯共聚物或其混合物。
