Abstract

Description
本发明涉及用于增白纸张涂料组合物的增白颜料的应用。
含水涂料组合物广泛用于铜版纸和卡纸板的生产。出于增白的目的,涂料组合物通常含有阴离子荧光增白剂,并且增白作用与共粘剂(co-binder)的用量和性质高度相关。使用阳离子涂料组合物(如在喷墨纸张中)会影响纸张品质,如耐光性差,食品包装出现渗透和可印性差。在纸浆或胶料压制的应用中也可能出现相似的问题。
令人吃惊的是某些含有三聚氰胺-甲醛树脂和水溶性荧光增白剂的增白颜料能够显著提高涂料组合物的品质。
本发明就是关于将包含如下(a)和(b)两种成分的增白颜料用于增白纸张涂料组合物的应用:
(a)三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛缩聚产物;和
(b)水溶性荧光增白剂。
三聚氰胺和甲醛的缩合产物,也即三聚氰胺-甲醛(MF)树脂,是氨基塑料树脂。
所谓的缩合产物是在酸或碱催化下由三聚氰胺和甲醛水溶液经羟甲基化反应生成N-羟甲基化合物而制备的。延长反应时间或增加温度,羟甲基随后与三聚氰胺进一步反应生成亚甲基桥;或者当羟甲基互相作用时,生成羟甲基醚桥。
在初步缩合产物还是可溶或可熔时中止反应,以便在需要时添加填料。要提高初步缩合产物的可溶性,一些剩下的羟甲基可以进一步醚化。
第一阶段的物质也可以配成水溶液,其中可以将荧光增白剂加入。
N-羟甲基化合物的醚化也可以这样进行:首先与醇共沸蒸馏脱水或喷雾干燥,然后让实际无水的羟甲基三聚氰胺与低级醇进行醚化反应,加入酸或碱催化剂,醚化后进行中和,如果需要,再蒸馏去除多余醇。
在另一个实施方案中,甲醛和生成氨基塑料的三聚氰胺或苯酚的缩聚反应是在荧光增白剂的存在下完成的。
适用于本发明的组分(b)所指的荧光增白剂对应下式:
其中:
R1和R2分别相互独立地为-OH,-Cl,-NH2,-O-C1-C4烷基,-O-芳基,-NH-C1-C4烷基,-N(C1-C4烷基)2,-N(C1-C4烷基)(C1-C4羟基烷基),-N(C1-C4羟基烷基)2或者-NH-芳基,例如苯胺基,苯胺单磺酸或苯胺二磺酸或者苯胺磺酰胺,吗啉代,-S-C1-C4烷基(芳基),或者氨基酸的基团,如氨基基团被取代的天冬氨酸或者亚氨乙酸,并且,
M为氢,钠,钾,钙,镁,铵,单-C1-C4烷基铵、二-C1-C4烷基铵、三-C1-C4烷基铵或四-C1-C4烷基铵;单-C1-C4羟烷基铵、二-C1-C4羟烷基铵或三-C1-C4羟烷基铵;或者被C1-C4烷基和C1-C4羟烷基的混合物二取代或三取代的铵。
在特别适合的式(1)荧光增白剂中,R1为苯胺基,更具体为R2为-NH-C1-C4烷基,-N(C1-C4烷基)2,-N(C1-C4烷基)(C1-C4羟基烷基),-N(C1-C4羟基烷基)2,吗啉代或者氨基酸基团,例如氨基基团被取代的天冬氨酸或者亚氨乙酸,并且M是氢,钠或钾。
C1-C4烃基团是支链或非支链,例如甲基,乙基,丙基,异丙基或正丙基,他们可以尚未或已经为卤素(比如氟,氯或溴)取代;C1-C4烷氧基,如甲氧基或乙氧基,苯基或羧基;C1-C4烷氧碳酰基,如乙酰基,单或二(C1-C4烷基)氨基或被-SO3M取代。
式(1)的化合物优选为中性形式,就是说:优选的M是碱金属阳离子,尤其钠。
与组分(b)相关的荧光增白剂在本发明的增白颜料中的用量为0.05-10%(重量),优选为0.1-5%(重量)。
除了三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛树脂,本发明所指增白颜料还包括与下列物质的共聚物(即组分(c)),如芳族磺酰胺,氰尿酸,脲和环化脲如亚乙基脲或乙醛酸。
优选地,本发明所指增白涂料应包含与芳族磺酰胺生成的共聚物。
优选的组分(a)是三聚氰胺-甲醛缩聚产物。
本发明的增白颜料有多种制备方法。
其中之一是通过熔融法制备它们,具体方法如下:
将芳族磺酰胺熔解在适合的反应容器中,然后往熔融的磺酰胺中缓慢加入甲醛,这样生成了低熔点(low-melting)树脂。反应结束后,生成的树脂进一步与三聚氰胺反应,也就是共缩合反应开始了,生成的是熔点(115-135℃)相对较高的树脂。反应结束后,往反应混合物加入荧光增白剂。含树脂的反应混合物在150-175℃温度下以液滴的形式转入存储器中并冷却。
随后将玻璃状树脂材料采用适当的装置粉碎成3mm大小的颗粒。这些颗粒再放入适当的研磨装置中,如球磨机,锤磨机或振动磨中,在其中将树脂研磨成5-6μm大小。
再一个制备所述增白颜料的方法是水基法,具体方法如下:
可按以下方法制备用于本发明的增白颜料:将组分(a)和(b)混合,优选混合在溶剂的存在下,特别是水的存在下。组分(a)的优选使用形式是初级缩合产物或者低分子量的N-羟甲基衍生物。混合后,溶剂也可以任选去除。
然后将所述颜料干燥、研磨任选重新分散于水中待用。
用于本发明的增白颜料优选包括:
(a)三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛缩聚产物占75-99%(重量),优选85-95%(重量),
(b)水溶性荧光增白剂占0.05-5%(重量),优选0.1-5%(重量),
(c)芳族磺酰胺占0-20%(重量),优选5-10%(重量)。
经干燥研磨后,细颗粒的增白颜料可以粉末的形式直接加入纸张涂料组合物中,颗粒大小在0.05到40μm之间,优选在0.3到10μm,尤其在0.5到5μm。
但大多数情况下,细颗粒的增白颜料可以更方便地分散在水相中,并将所得的含水分散液加入纸张涂料组合物中。
本发明的增白颜料在纸张涂料组合物中的用量取决于所期望的增白效果;通常纯活性物质,以所用的三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛缩聚产物的重量计,占0.01-5%(重量)。
纸张涂料组合物通常含固体内容物35-80%(重量),优选40-70%(重量)。除了用于本发明的增白颜料,它们通常包括(所有的量基于颜料):
(i)无机颜料100份(重量),
(ii)粘合剂3到25份(重量),其中天然(非合成)共粘剂如淀粉和酪蛋白可高达一半,
(iii)增稠剂高达1份(重量),
(iv)湿强剂高达2份(重量)。
本发明的增白颜料非常适合对那些纺织,油漆,胶合剂,塑料,木材和造纸工业惯用的有色涂料组合物任选进行增白。这些涂料组合物包含用作粘合剂(共粘剂)的塑性分散体。它们是基于如下物质的共聚物:丁二烯和苯乙烯;丙烯(腈),丁二烯和苯乙烯;丙烯酸酯;乙烯和氯乙烯;以及乙烯和乙酸乙烯酯。它们也可是均聚物,如聚氯乙烯,聚偏1,2-二氯乙烯,聚乙烯,聚乙酸乙烯酯或者聚氨酯。
出于对涂料组合物染色的目的,用于造纸的通常采用硅酸盐,如瓷土或高岭土,以及硫酸钡,缎光白,二氧化钛或钙化合物。这些都在以下资料有参考实例:

本发明的增白颜料特别用于纸张涂料,尤其是喷墨和照相纸,木材,箔片,纺织品,非织造织物和适合的建筑材料。特别优先考虑用于纸张、卡纸板和照相纸。
这样得到的涂层或覆层除了有高度的耐光性,更有优异的白度。由于纸张基材中有用于本发明的增白颜料作为额外填料,纸张的均匀性,平滑度、强度及可印性均有所提高。并且对纸张的可印性有有利的影响。
下列实施例用于说明本发明。
实施例1
增白颜料的制备
将1.5克活性物质,下式
或
的荧光增白剂与15克60%五羟甲基三聚氰胺21/2-甲醚(=LYOFIXCHN)水溶液在玻璃容器中混合,进一步用去离子水稀释到120克,水浴加热至50℃同时搅拌。
采用2当量硫酸调节pH值到3.5至4.0使之沉淀。持续加热至85到90℃并在此温度下保持10分钟。再用30%氢氧化钠水溶液用15分钟将pH值调节到10.0至11.0。待混合物冷却后,用带有玻璃纤维滤材的吸滤器过滤,并在60℃下干燥2小时。
以重量分析计,收率大约是70%(±1.5)。
实施例2:
制剂的准备
按实施例1制备的增白颜料通过在玻璃珠磨机中湿磨2小时,进行匀化和微粒化(microsolised)。配方组成如下:

应用实施例
按上述实施例2制备的制剂以干物计3份加入涂料组合物,该组合物的组成如下:60份碳酸钙和40份高岭土(作为涂料颜料),作为共粘剂的1份聚乙烯醇,以及5份苯乙烯-丁二烯(作为粘合剂)。
将所述涂料组合物以12g/m2涂布道林纸。使用式(2)增白剂,干燥后,测得荧光度(ISO)和白度(CIE)分别是6.9和92,若使用的是式(3)的增白剂,测得的荧光度和白度分别是9.0和100。
不加入颜料的涂料的荧光度是0,白度是70。
Claims (11)
1.用于增白纸张涂料组合物的增白颜料的应用,该增白颜料包括:
(a)三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛缩聚产物,和
(b)下式的水溶性荧光增白剂
其中:
R1和R2分别相互独立为-OH、-Cl、-NH2、-O-C1-C4烷基、-O-芳基、-NH-C1-C4烷基、-N(C1-C4烷基)2、-N(C1-C4烷基)(C1-C4羟烷基)、-N(C1-C4羟烷基)2或者-NH-芳基、苯胺单磺酸或苯胺二磺酸或者苯胺磺酰胺、吗啉代、S-C1-C4烷基(芳基),或者氨基被取代的氨基酸基团,
M为氢、钠、钾、钙、镁、铵、单-C1-C4烷基铵、二-C1-C4烷基铵、三-C1-C4烷基铵或四-C1-C4烷基铵;单-C1-C4羟烷基铵、二-C1-C4羟烷基铵或三-C1-C4羟烷基铵;或者被C1-C4烷基和C1-C4羟烷基的混合物二取代或三取代的铵。
2.权利要求1的应用,其中所述-NH-芳基是苯胺基,所述氨基酸是天冬氨酸或者亚氨乙酸。
3.权利要求1的应用,其中使用的组分(b)是式(1)的荧光增白剂,其中R1是苯胺基,R2和M的定义同权利要求1。
4.权利要求3的应用,其中使用的组分(b)是式(1)的荧光增白剂,其中R2是NH-C1-C4烷基、-N(C1-C4烷基)2、-N(C1-C4烷基)(C1-C4羟烷基)、-N(C1-C4羟烷基)2、吗啉代,或者氨基被取代的氨基酸的基团,并且M是氢、钠或钾。
5.权利要求4的应用,其中所述氨基酸为天冬氨酸或者亚氨乙酸。
6.权利要求1-5中任一项的应用,其中使用的组分(a)是三聚氰胺-甲醛缩聚产物。
7.权利要求1-6中任一项的应用,其中荧光增白剂(b)在增白颜料中的存在量为0.05-10%(重量)。
8.权利要求1-7中任一项的应用,其中增白颜料包括作为组分(c)的高达20%的与芳族磺酰胺形成的共聚物。
9.权利要求1-8中任一项的应用,其中干的增白颜料的粒径为0.05至40μm。
10.用于增白用于纺织、油漆、胶合剂、塑料、木材或造纸工业的涂料组合物增白颜料的应用,该增白颜料包括:
(a)三聚氰胺-甲醛或苯酚-甲醛缩聚产物,和
(b)下式的水溶性荧光增白剂
其中:
R1和R2分别相互独立为-OH、-Cl、-NH2、-O-C1-C4烷基、-O-芳基、-NH-C1-C4烷基、-N(C1-C4烷基)2、-N(C1-C4烷基)(C1-C4羟烷基)、-N(C1-C4羟烷基)2或者-NH-芳基、苯胺单磺酸或苯胺二磺酸或者苯胺磺酰胺、吗啉代、S-C1-C4烷基(芳基),或者氨基被取代的氨基酸基团,
M为氢、钠、钾、钙、镁、铵、单-C1-C4烷基铵、二-C1-C4烷基铵、三-C1-C4烷基铵或四-C1-C4烷基铵;单-C1-C4羟烷基铵、二-C1-C4羟烷基铵或三-C1-C4羟烷基铵;或者被C1-C4烷基和C1-C4羟烷基的混合物二取代或三取代的铵。
11.权利要求10的应用,其中所述-NH-芳基是苯胺基,所述氨基酸是天冬氨酸或者亚氨乙酸。
