Description

动态负载限制
本发明涉及一种用于限制网络结构中的中央点上的负载的机制。具体地,本发明的所示实施例涉及一种机制,用于在智能网结构中限制业务控制点上的负载。
智能网结构包括一个业务控制点(SCP),它典型地有大量业务交换点(SSP)与之连接。每个SSP是一个交换***,能截取电话呼叫,探询和SCP。SCP包括业务特定逻辑和数据,允许它将关于如何处理所截取的呼叫的指令返回给SSP。
显然,如果SCP同时接收到来自不同的SSP的过多的探询,则在网络的信令链路上会引起拥塞,则SCP的处理能力会过载,这样会带来处理呼叫中的不可接受的延迟。
在现有的智能网规范ETS300374-1,第136-139页,提供了呼叫间隙,作为降低面向SCP发送的信令业务的唯一设备。
当SCP检测到一种高负载状况时,它将指令发送回给一些或全部SSP以开始呼叫间隙,意味着那些SSP降低了它们被允许发送探询给SCCP的速率。然而,因为由SCP检测到的高负载状况和由SSP始发的呼叫间隙时间之间存在的延迟,这一机制是不足的。结果是SCP探询的未预期的峰值数仍然会引起SCP的过载。
根据本发明,SSP有动态机制用于监视SCP的负载状态并阻止过载。这是通过定义一个等待响应的SCP探询的极限数,并拒绝会使等待探询数超过极限的呼叫尝试来实现。
益处是,SSP能够自动响应SCP的负载状态的变化,而无需请求从SCP发送任何消息,以允许更快地响应未期望的突发呼叫尝试。
为了更好地理解本发明,将通过结合附图举例说明,其中:
图1是实施本发明的网络结构的框图;和
图2是说明根据本发明的SSP的操作的一部分的流程图。
图1所示的网络结构包括一个业务控制点(SCP)2,有多个业务控制点(SSP)4,6,8,10与之连接。将理解在实际中,连接到SCP的SSP数将大。在智能网结构中,SSP截取电话呼叫,并发送探询给SCP。SCP将如何处理所截取的呼叫的指令返回给SSP。
图2是一个流程图,表示根据本发明SSP如何实现呼叫限制机制。在SSP内,给给定的呼叫准则分配一个计数器,诸如特定的拨号号码。对于每个计数器,设置一个预定最大值,即极限。
在图2所示的过程中,在步骤22,在符合一条标准的SSP接收呼叫尝试。在步骤24,相应的计数器值被递增。在步骤26,判断计数器值是否已经达到了其预定最大值。如果没有,在步骤28探询被发送给SCP。一旦等待探询从SCP接收到一个应答,在步骤36,相应的计数器值被在步骤38递增。
表示已经被成功地响应的连续探询数的一个成功计数器在步骤40被递增。接着在步骤42确定成功计数器是否达到了预定数。如果达到了,在步骤44所定义的最大计数器值被以预定增量自动提高。接着过程返回到开始。
如果在步骤26确定计数器值已经达到了其预定最大值,这是一个表示SCP处于高负载状态的指示,对于探询有相应的增加了的响应时间。为了解决这个问题,在步骤30预定最大计数器值被以预定递减步长减小。接着在步骤32接收的呼叫被拒绝,没有另外的呼叫尝试被接收。在步骤33成功的计数器也被复位为0。而在这一状态,如步骤34所示,计数器值被监视,直到它达到一个较低值,它是低于当前预定最大计数器值的某个百分比。当达到这个较低值时,即在步骤34获得答案YES,SSP重又能够应答呼叫尝试,过程返回到开始。
这个机制可以永久保持原位,或者可以在SSP手动激活,或通过从SCP发送到SSP的指令激活。另外,计数器的初始最大值的设置也可以在SSP手动设置或通过来自SCP的指令设置。
因此提供了一种机制,允许SSP自动调节SCP上的负载,而不要求从SCP发送的消息。计数器总是存在一个最大值的事实意味着,机制总是能够处理突发的呼叫尝试。
尽管已经就智能网电信结构描述了本发明,SSP包括限制发送给SCP的探询的机制,应当理解相同的机制可以用于要求探询被发送到一个中央数据库或控制点的网络结构中,例如移动通信网,***数据库或者计算机网。

Claims (10)

1.交换点,用于有一个中央控制点和与之连接的多个交换点的网络结构中,其中交换点:
发送探询给控制点并从其接收响应;
计算被发送到控制点的等待探询数并等待一个响应;和
当等待探询数达到一个阈值时,阻止另外的探询被发送给控制点。
2.如权利要求1的交换点,其中当等待探询数达到阈值时,阈值被递减。
3.如权利要求1或2的交换点,其中当预定数目的连续探询接收到成功响应时,阈值被递增。
4.如权利要求1的交换点,计算不同类别的多个等待探询数。
5.在构成有一个中央控制点和多个与之连接的交换点的网络结构的一部分的交换点中,处理电话呼叫的方法,控制点处理从交换点发送来的探询,方法包括:
接收一次呼叫尝试;
递增计数器值,每当探询从控制点接收到一个响应时该值就递减;
比较计数器值和预定的阈值;和
如果计数器值低于预定的阈值,发送一个探询给控制点,和
如果计数值等于或大于阈值,就拒绝呼叫尝试。
6.如权利要求5的方法,包括判断一个呼叫尝试是否满足多个预定标准之一的步骤,并且如果满足,就递增与之相关的计数器值。
7.如权利要求6的方法,其中与相应预定标准相关的每个计数器值有一个相应的预定阈值。
8.一种网络结构,包括一个中央控制点和多个与之连接的交换点,每个交换点发送探询给控制点并从它接收响应,其中每个交换点计算发送给控制点的等待数并等待一个响应,当等待探询数达到一个阈值时,禁止发送其它的探询。
9.如权利要求8的结构,其中当计数值达到一个阈值时,阈值就被减小。
10.根据权利要求8或9的结构,其中当预定数目的连续探询成功地从控制点接收到响应时,阈值就被递增。
