Background
Paper making is generally carried out by pulping, proportioning and manufacturing fiber raw materials, the paper performance depends on the paper variety and application, and the raw material configuration, manufacturing method and process technology of paper with different varieties and performances are different. At present, the paper application is steadily developed from information paper to packaging paper and other industries, varieties and purposes, the varieties are continuously increased, the performance is also improved, and the functions are also improved.
At present, passports are frequently used as personal identification, and are required to have good surface friction resistance, high tearing resistance and high folding strength; in addition, many passports have been made anti-counterfeiting on the inner page of the passport, such as watermark anti-counterfeiting, security thread anti-counterfeiting, fluorescent fiber anti-counterfeiting, printing ink anti-counterfeiting, and other anti-counterfeiting modes. CN101319475a discloses a method for producing environment-friendly anti-counterfeiting cover paper, which adopts 100% of fiber raw materials to produce base paper, wherein the weight ratio of the selected fiber raw materials to the weight ratio of needle pulp is 50-65%, mercerized pulp is 10-20%, cotton pulp is 20-30%, the base paper is produced by pulp board breaking, pulping treatment, batching, pulp conveying, pulp box forming, drying and dewatering, and winding in a split roll manner, and then the base paper is sequentially subjected to dip dyeing, dip latex, base coating, anti-counterfeiting printing and top coating to produce the anti-counterfeiting cover paper. The cover paper has outstanding tearing resistance and folding resistance and good anti-counterfeiting performance. The invention has the advantages of easy processing and manufacturing, low production cost, environmental protection, anti-counterfeiting performance and tearing resistance, and the obtained environmental protection anti-counterfeiting cover paper is suitable for being made into various certificate covers, in particular to an environmental protection anti-counterfeiting passport cover. CN108532355a discloses a process for manufacturing environment-friendly cover paper; the method comprises the following steps: a. according to mass fraction, fluffing 40-50% of needle pulp, 20-30% of broadleaf pulp, 10-15% of mercerized pulp and 15-25% of cotton pulp by a hydraulic pulper for 40-60 min; b. the fluffed slurry is put into a beating machine for beating for 20-30 min; c. placing the pulped slurry into a slurry mixing tank, adjusting the pH value of the slurry to 5.5-6.5, and diluting the concentration of the slurry to 0.5-0.6%; d. and (3) conveying the prepared slurry to a paper machine for papermaking, and finally dehydrating, squeezing and drying to obtain the environment-friendly cover paper.
However, the existing cover paper has poor performance stability and high price, and is not suitable for industrialized mass production.
Therefore, developing a cover paper special for a license with high stability and low cost is a technical problem which needs to be solved in the field.

(4) Wet strength: dry and wet tensile were tested according to the test method provided in GB/T12914-2018, and then the ratio of wet and dry tensile was calculated;
(5) Thermal stability: baking at 140 deg.C for 5min, and calculating length change rate.
The cover papers for the license provided in examples 1 to 5 and comparative examples 1 to 3 were tested according to the above test methods, and the test results are shown in table 1:
TABLE 1
As can be seen from the data in table 1, the cover paper special for the license provided by the invention has higher tearing strength, higher number of times of folding endurance, higher wet strength and excellent thermal stability; specifically, the cover papers for license obtained in examples 1 to 6 had a grammage of 148 to 152g/m 2 The longitudinal tearing strength is 5748-6637 mN, the transverse tearing strength is 7686-8565 mN, and the longitudinal dry tensile strength is 8.99-10.56N/m 2 The transverse dry tensile strength is 13.86-17.98N/m 2 The folding endurance is 14760-17381 twice, the wet strength is 57.36-63.42%, and the thermal stability is 2.37-2.67%.
Analysis of example 1 and comparative example 1 revealed that the addition of a low amount of cotton pulp and a high addition of wood pulp significantly reduced the folding strength, tensile strength and wet strength of the resultant cover paper, indicating poor strength and wet stability.
As can be seen from comparative examples 1 and 2, the cover paper prepared by using glass fibers instead of polymer fibers has reduced tear strength, folding strength, wet strength and thermal stability, and has poor overall properties.
Further, as can be seen from comparative examples 1 and 3, the tear strength, folding strength and wet strength of the cover paper obtained without adding the polymer fiber were significantly reduced, indicating that the overall properties were very poor compared with example 1.
Further comparing example 1 with examples 4 to 5, it was found that the tear strength, dry tensile, folding endurance and wet strength of the cover paper prepared without the freeness falling within the preferred ranges defined in the present invention were slightly lowered.
The applicant states that the present invention is described by way of the above embodiments as a cover sheet for a license, and a method of making and using the same, but the present invention is not limited to the above embodiments, i.e., it does not mean that the present invention must be practiced by relying on the above embodiments. It should be apparent to those skilled in the art that any modification of the present invention, equivalent substitution of raw materials for the product of the present invention, addition of auxiliary components, selection of specific modes, etc., falls within the scope of the present invention and the scope of disclosure.
