Abstract

The invention provides a display panel and a public voltage adjusting method thereof, wherein the method can firstly judge whether a display picture is in a bright spot judging picture or a normal display picture, and then utilizes a smaller first public voltage to display the picture when the bright spot of low gray scale display judges the picture, so as to avoid that pixels which are dark spots are mistakenly displayed as bright spots, thereby accurately detecting the dark spots and reducing the reject ratio of the bright spots; when the picture is displayed normally, the second public voltage is larger, so that the pixel leakage current in the field blanking stage can be reduced, the picture brightness under low frequency is improved, and the picture flicker problem during high-frequency and low-frequency switching is solved. The invention sets two groups of first public voltage and second public voltage with different sizes, can improve the problem of image flicker during high-frequency and low-frequency switching by adopting larger second public voltage when an image is normally displayed, and simultaneously avoids the problem of increase of the defective rate of the bright point by adopting smaller first public voltage when the image of the bright point is judged.

Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of display, in particular to a display panel and a public voltage adjusting method thereof.
Background
For a display panel with an adaptive frame rate or frequency conversion function (freesync), the refresh frequency of a screen can be adjusted according to display contents, the refresh frequency is generally realized by adjusting the duration of a field blanking (Vblank), when the frame rate is high, the field blanking period is longer, when the frame rate is low, the field blanking period is shorter, which causes more leakage of pixels at the low frame rate to reduce the brightness of the pixels, so that when the high frequency and the low frequency are switched quickly, human eyes can feel obvious flicker.
Currently, in order to solve the above problem, increasing the Array common voltage (Array VCOM) is generally adopted to reduce the leakage of pixels during the vertical blanking period, that is, with respect to the general 1T2C pixel circuit structure shown in fig. 1, including the switching transistor T, the storage capacitor Cst, and the liquid crystal capacitor Clc, wherein, the grid of the switch transistor T is connected with the scanning line Gate, the source of the switch transistor T is connected with the Data line Data, one end of the storage capacitor Cst and the drain of the liquid crystal capacitor Clc are both connected with the drain of the switch transistor T, the other end of the storage capacitor Cst is connected with the Array common voltage (Array VCOM), the other end of the liquid crystal capacitor Clc is connected with the color film substrate common voltage (CF VCOM), by increasing the Array common voltage, the storage capacity of the storage capacitor Cst can be increased, and the pixel leakage in the field blanking period at the low frequency frame rate can be compensated, so that the problem of image flicker when switching between high and low frequencies is improved. In view of the above, it is desirable to provide a common voltage adjustment method for a display panel in both a normal display scene and a bright point judgment scene, so as to solve the problem of an increase in the defective rate of the bright point caused by the flicker phenomenon when the display panel is switched between high and low frequencies.
Disclosure of Invention
In order to solve the above problems, embodiments of the present invention provide a display panel and a method for adjusting a common voltage thereof.

collecting gray scale characteristics of a display picture;
determining the display picture as a bright point judging picture or a normal display picture according to the gray scale characteristics;
if the display picture is the bright point judgment picture, using a first common voltage to display the picture; if the display picture is the normal display picture, using a second common voltage to display the picture, wherein the first common voltage is less than the second common voltage; and the storage capacitor in the pixel unit of the display panel is connected with the first common voltage or the second common voltage.
In some embodiments, the acquiring the gray scale features of the display image specifically includes:
collecting real-time gray scale of each pixel;
and comparing the real-time gray scale with a preset gray scale threshold value.
In some embodiments, the determining that the display image is a bright point judgment image or a normal display image according to the gray scale feature specifically includes:
if the real-time gray scale of the pixel exceeding a preset proportion threshold is smaller than the preset gray scale threshold, judging that the display picture is the bright point judging picture;

It should be noted that the first common voltage AVCOM1 is smaller than the second common voltage VCOM, which means that the absolute value of the first common voltage AVCOM1 is smaller than the absolute value of the second common voltage AVCOM2, for example, the first common voltage AVCOM1 is 5.6V, and the second common voltage AVCOM2 is 8.6V, so that the stored energy of the storage capacitor Cst can be increased when a picture is normally displayed, and the leakage of the pixel in the field blanking period can be reduced.
Specifically, the public voltage adjusting method of the display panel can firstly judge whether the display picture is in a bright point judging picture or a normal display picture, and then when the bright point judging picture which is generally displayed in a low gray scale, the picture is displayed by using a smaller first public voltage AVCOM1, so that the pixel which is a dark spot is prevented from being displayed as a bright spot by mistake, the dark spot is accurately detected, and the defective rate of the bright spot is reduced; or when the picture is displayed normally, the second public voltage AVCOM2 with larger value is used for picture display, the pixel leakage current in the field blanking stage can be reduced, the picture brightness under low frequency can be improved, and the picture flicker problem during high-frequency and low-frequency switching can be avoided.
The embodiment of the invention is provided with two groups of first common voltage AVCOM1 and second common voltage AVCOM2 with different sizes, so that the problem of image flicker during high-frequency and low-frequency switching can be solved by adopting the larger second common voltage AVCOM2 when an image is normally displayed, and meanwhile, the smaller first common voltage AVCOM1 is adopted when the image is judged by the bright spot, so that the problem of increase of the defective rate of the bright spot derived by adopting the second common voltage AVCOM2 when the image is judged by the bright spot is solved.
In some embodiments, in step S1, the acquiring the gray scale features of the display image specifically includes:
collecting real-time gray scale of each pixel;
and comparing the real-time gray scale with a preset gray scale threshold value.
