Abstract

The invention provides a device for containing cosmetics and a device for containing cosmetic substances. Device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base, at least one inner tray, an inner lid, and an outer lid; the base has a base opening and a base wall; at least one inner tray having a tray opening and a pivot post; the pivot post is engageable with the base opening on the base; at least one inner tray has a first magnetic coupling; the inner lid has an engagement slot for the pivot post of the at least one inner tray and has a second magnetic coupling; the first magnetic connector of the at least one inner tray is similarly oriented to the second magnetic connector of the inner lid; the outer cover is assembled on the inner cover; the tray opening of the at least one inner tray is capable of receiving a container for cosmetic products; whereby the at least one inner tray is able to swing about the pivot post and rotate from the first position to the second position, and the first magnetic coupling of the at least one inner tray engages the second magnetic coupling of the inner lid to retain the device in the closed position.

Device for receiving a cosmetic product and device for receiving a cosmetic product substance

The application is a divisional application, the parent application of which has the application number of 201780068523.1 (international application number of PCT/US2017/050360), the application date of 09 and 06 in 2017 and the name of 'cosmetic box and device for containing cosmetics'.

Technical Field

The present invention relates to a container or a kit for cosmetics, foodstuffs, pharmaceuticals or other consumable substances.

Background

Prior to the present invention, there has been a need for containers to hold cosmetics, foundations and make-up accessories (in solid, powder and liquid form) in an easy to carry, organize and open/close manner; there is also a need for containers that contain eye powder and eye shadows in multiple colors in an easily accessible and compact manner. Furthermore, it is desirable to incorporate the mirror in the lid or in a separate compartment that can be completely separated from the body.

The prior art devices use too much material within the apparatus to move the material from the first height to the second height; when cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or other consumable substances are expensive, valuable or small in size or quantity, the wasted material is unacceptable. Other prior art devices (such as body fragrances or lip balm sticks) require unused space within the device for the base and screw lift; this results in a larger article.

With the attached invention, less material or substance is required within the article holder or base; the present invention saves nearly thirty percent of the volume of material needed for an equipment or article holder. Furthermore, the present invention allows for a much smaller and compact container for cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or other consumable products.

The present invention also provides the ability to use different cross-sectional shapes (circular, oval, square, rectangular or non-uniform) of bullets (bullets); the invention also allows linking two devices for containing cosmetics, drugs or other consumable products. As is apparent from the foregoing description, the devices currently in use have significant disadvantages. Thus, important aspects of the techniques used in the field of the invention are still amenable to useful improvements.

Disclosure of Invention

The present invention relates to a device for containing a cosmetic product including, but not limited to, eye powder, eye shadow, foundation, and other solid cosmetic materials.

Hingeless cosmetic container:

a device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base and a cover; the base has a first base portion and a second base portion; the cover has at least one slot and at least one cover edge; the first base portion has a yoke; the second base portion having an opening corresponding to the yoke and oriented to allow the yoke to pass through the opening on the second base portion; and the prongs are engageable with the slots of the cover whereby the first base portion, the second base portion and the cover are secured together.

Cosmetic case with magnetic swivel:

the device has a base, a first or inner tray, a lid for the first or inner tray, and a top cover; there may be multiple or additional trays and lids for additional inner trays (second, third, etc.). The inner tray is connected to the base and lid at a pivot point using shafts or pegs. At different locations on the inner tray or on the lid for the inner tray are magnets and corresponding parts with metal of iron or nickel attracted to the magnets; for example, the magnets may be on one inner tray, and adjacent inner covers (or second inner trays) may have associated or corresponding metal pieces. The magnet will be attracted to the metal piece and keep the device closed.

Vanity with rail system:

a device for containing a cosmetic product, the device employing a track system that allows a tray to move from a first closed position to a second open position; the track system also allows for multiple intermediate positions along the length or travel of the track. A device for containing a substance (cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food or other consumable substance) comprising: an article holder having a first article holder end for holding a cosmetic substance and a second article holder end; the article receiving member being disposed within and slidably mounted within a sheath (sheath); the sheath is hollow and has an open sheath end; the sheath has a slot, groove or channel extending along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the button slider is slidably engaged with the sheath; the button slider has a first button slider end and a second button slider end; the first button slider end and the second button slider end are vertically disposed with respect to each other; the second button slider end is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the second button slide end engaging the article holder; the first button block end is slidably engaged with the sheath; wherein the button slider allows a consumer to apply a force along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the force is transferred from the first button slider end to the second button slider end and along the longitudinal axis of the sheath to the article receiving member such that the article receiving member and the cosmetic substance can move from a first height to a second height.

A packaging device or package for dispensing a cosmetic product, comprising: an article holder having a first open article holder end and a second closed article holder end; the second closed article containment element end having a centrally disposed engagement region and having a length; a sheath having two open sheath ends, at least one sheath sidewall, and at least one grooved channel on the sheath sidewall; a sliding button slidably engaging the sheath along the slotted channel; the slide button having an arm that contacts and supports a length of the end of the second closed article holder; the arm of the sliding button is connected to a centrally disposed engagement area on the end of the second closed article receiver; whereby, when a user applies a force to the slide button, the force is transferred to the second closed article holder end and allows the article holder to move from the first height to the second height; the centrally disposed engagement area may be a ring (or hole or loop) and the arms of the sliding button fit within the ring; the engagement region may mimic the cross-sectional shape of the arm.

The arm may be solid or rigid and is in contact with the entire length of the second closed article containment element end; the sheath has an inner sheath surface providing varying resistance to movement of the sliding button at a first sheath position and a second sheath position; the cover may cover the sheath, the article holder, and the sliding button; the base may be securely engaged with the sheath; the base is a connector capable of engaging and connecting the sheaths of the first and second packages, whereby the first and second packages are connected.

The present invention relates to a container that allows a cosmetic, pharmaceutical or consumable product in a product containing member to move from a first position or height to a second position or height within a sheath as force is transferred from a button slide outside the sheath to beneath the product containing member; the article holder has a first end (for holding a cosmetic substance) and a second end for engaging the button slider; the button slider allows a user to apply a force along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; this force is transferred to the second end of the button sled to raise or lower the article receiving member relative to the sheath.

The present invention introduces such improvements. In its preferred embodiment, the invention has several aspects or parts that can be used independently, although they are preferably employed together to maximize their benefits. All of the foregoing operating principles and advantages of the present invention will be more fully understood upon consideration of the following detailed description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings.

Detailed Description

Cosmetics box without hinge (with snap-in cover plate)

Fig. 1-10 illustrate several preferred embodiments of a cosmetic case or device for containing a cosmetic product, including: a base, a tray and a cover; the closure is a hingeless lid.

1. A base: the base has at least one arm or resilient arm. One preferred embodiment has multiple or two arms that rise upward from the base. At least one end may have a hook, hooked end, elastic end, or gripping point.

2. A tray: the tray having at least one slotted opening oriented to allow at least one resilient arm to pass through the at least one slotted opening on the tray; the tray may have at least one cavity for a cosmetic product. The preferred embodiment shown in the drawings has a plurality or two slotted openings to engage with two resilient arms of the base.

3. And (4) capping: the cover having at least one recess or engagement area oriented to engage or receive a tip on at least one resilient arm of the base; the cover may have at least one cover edge; wherein the at least one resilient arm is capable of being oriented through the at least one slotted opening in the tray and a tip of the at least one arm or resilient arm is capable of engaging the at least one lid edge to secure the base, tray and lid together.

The cover may have a plurality of or two recesses; the base may have a plurality of arms, including two resilient arms, and the tray may have a plurality, including two slotted openings. The closure may also have a mirror or a slot for a mirror; the cover may be engaged by at least one resilient arm in a first position and a second position, whereby the mirror faces inwardly in the first position and outwardly in the second position. The cover may be removable and the tray has a channel for receiving at least one cover edge, whereby the at least one cover edge may be placed within the channel of the tray when the cover is disengaged from the end of the at least one resilient arm and the tray.

At least one cover edge may be engaged to the tray in a first position and a second position; the at least one recess on the closure may be uniform or conically tapered. The at least one recess may be a slot, channel or groove; the at least one recess may be a channel extending around the closure or the periphery of the closure. The base, tray and cover may have curved or flat edges.

There is a device for containing a cosmetic product comprising: a base and a cover; the base has a first base portion and a second base portion; the cover has two slots and at least one cover edge; the first base portion has two resilient prongs; the second base portion having two openings oriented to allow the resilient prongs to pass through the openings in the second base portion; and the resilient prongs are capable of engaging the slots of the cover whereby the first base portion, the second base portion and the cover are secured together.

The cover may have a mirror or a translucent or transparent window; the slot in the closure may be conically tapered; the cover may be removable and the second base portion may have a groove to receive the at least one cover edge, whereby the at least one cover edge may be placed within the groove of the second base portion when the cover is disengaged from the resilient prongs. The slot in the cover may be a channel or a groove.

A device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base, a tray and a cover; the base has at least one arm; the tray having at least one slotted opening oriented to allow at least one arm of the base to pass through the at least one slotted opening in the tray; at least one arm of the base has a tip or end portion with a hook or gripping head; the cover may have at least one recess oriented to engage a tip on at least one arm of the base; the cover may have at least one cover edge; wherein the at least one arm is oriented to pass through the at least one slotted opening in the tray and a tip of the at least one arm is engageable with the at least one lid edge to secure the base, tray and lid together; the tray may also have at least one chamber or compartment for the cosmetic product; the cover may contain a mirror; at least one arm may be resilient; and the at least one recess may be a slot, channel or groove.

In another possible embodiment of the invention, the base or body has a first end and a second end; the base or body may have a variety of pre-formed compartments, recesses or areas for containing different types of cosmetic products (i.e., different colored powders). The first end of the base or body is engaged with the mirror cap; the mirror cover may comprise a plurality of parts including a mirror housing and a mirror chamfer and a frame portion; the mirror cover may rotatably engage the base or body via a hinged or hingeless joint.

The second end of the base or body is engaged with the base; the bottom has at least one resilient snap feature or boss; the at least one resilient snap feature or boss engages at least one opening in the base or body that corresponds to allow male/female engagement of the base with the second end of the base. The engagement of such a resilient snap feature relies on a certain amount of resiliency of the base bottom material to engage an opening in the base top or body. Mirrors may be attached facing inward or outward, and mirrors are also designed so that they can be marked and retained for future use after the cosmetic product is used up.

A device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base, a tray and a cover; the base may have at least one resilient arm portion; the tray may have at least one slotted opening oriented to allow the at least one resilient arm to pass through the at least one slotted opening on the tray; the at least one resilient arm may have a distal end; the cover may have at least one recess oriented to engage a tip on the at least one flexible arm of the base; the cover has at least one cover edge; wherein the at least one flexible arm is oriented through the at least one slotted opening in the tray and a tip of the at least one flexible arm is engageable with the at least one cover edge to secure the base, the tray, and the cover together; the tray may have at least one cavity for a cosmetic product; in addition, the cover may be plural and the base may have two or more resilient arms and the tray may have multiple or two slotted openings. The cover may have a mirror; and the cover may be engaged by the at least one resilient arm in the first position and the second position, whereby the mirror faces inwardly in the first position and outwardly in the second position.

The cover may be removable and the tray has a channel for receiving the at least one cover edge, whereby the at least one cover edge may be placed within the channel of the tray when the cover is disengaged from the end of the at least one resilient arm and the tray; at least one cover edge may be engaged to the tray in a first position and a second position; a lateral or longitudinal view position; the at least one recess on the closure may be conically tapered; the at least one recess may be a slot, channel or groove; the base, tray and cover may have curved or flat edges; the at least one recess may have a slot or channel extending around the cover.

A device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base and a cover; the base may have a first base portion and a second base portion; the cover may have a plurality or two slots and at least one cover edge; the first base portion may have a plurality or two resilient prong portions; the second base portion may have a plurality or two openings oriented to allow the resilient prong portions to pass through the openings in the second base; and the resilient prong arms are engageable with the slot of the lid, whereby the first base portion, the second base portion, and the lid are removably secured together; the cover may have a mirror or translucent window; the slot in the closure may be conically tapered; the cover may be removable and the second base portion has a groove to receive the at least one cover edge whereby the at least one cover edge may be placed within the groove of the second base portion when the cover is disengaged from the resilient prong. The slot may be a channel or a groove.

A device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising: a base, a tray and a cover; the base has at least one arm; the tray having at least one slotted opening oriented to allow the at least one arm to pass through the at least one slotted opening on the tray; at least one arm having a distal end; the cover having at least one recess oriented to engage a tip on at least one arm of the base; the lid may have at least one lid edge, wherein the at least one arm is oriented to pass through the at least one slotted opening on the tray, and a tip of the at least one arm is engageable with the at least one lid edge to secure the base, the tray, and the lid together; the tray may also have at least one cavity, recess or compartment for the cosmetic product; the cover may have a mirror; at least one arm is resilient; and the at least one recess is a slot, channel or groove.

Cosmetic case (removable eyeshadow tray using pivot point and magnet):

as shown in fig. 11 to 14, there is a device for containing a powder or solid cosmetic material; the device has a base, an inner tray having an inner tray cover and a top or outer cover; there are multiple or additional inner trays and covers for the additional inner trays (second inner tray, third inner tray, etc.). The inner tray is connected to the base and lid at a pivot point or pivot point using shafts or pegs.

The presence of magnets and corresponding metals with iron or nickel at different positions on the inner tray or on the lid of the inner tray; collectively referred to as first or second magnetic connectors; for example, the magnets may be on one inner tray and the adjacent inner lid or second inner tray may have associated or corresponding metal pieces. At least one tray or dish having an opening, cavity or area for the placement of cosmetic powder or solid material; the cavity or region may be defined by a cover or border; the inner tray has a main body with pillars or structural ribs; the inner tray may have an area to accommodate a magnet, metal piece, or pivot point or boss.

At least one lid for the first inner tray or inner tray: having at least one lid for the inner tray; the inner tray cover has an area to accommodate magnets, metal pieces, or pivot points or bosses. Makeup box (simple applicator makeup box (track) closing system):

as shown in fig. 15-20, there is a device for containing a cosmetic product that employs a track system that allows the tray to move from a first or closed position to a second or open position; the track system also allows for multiple intermediate positions along the length or travel of the track.

1. Base or first tray: the base or first tray has an enclosed space or space for receiving additional cosmetic material or applicator tools (brushes or sponges, etc.). The base has pins or portions that slidably engage tracks in the intermediate or second tray.

2. as shown in fig. 21-29, there is a device for containing cosmetics, pharmaceuticals or other consumable substances, comprising: an article holder having a first article holder end for holding a cosmetic substance and having a second article holder end; the article receiving member is disposed within and slidably mounted within the sheath; the sheath is hollow and has an open sheath end; the sheath has a channel or slot or groove extending along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the button slider is slidably engaged with the sheath; the button slider has a first button slider end and a second button slider end; the first button slider end and the second button slider end are perpendicularly arranged with respect to each other; the second button slider end is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the second button slider end engages the article holder; the first button block end is slidably engaged with the sheath; a consumer or user may apply a force or pressure to the first button slider end; wherein the button slider allows a consumer to apply pressure or force along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the force is transferred from the first button slider end to the second button slider end and along the longitudinal axis of the sheath to the article-receiving member such that the article-receiving member and contained article can move from a first height or second position to a second height or second position.

Article receiving member, sheath and button slider:

the article holder has a first end for holding a substance and a second end for engaging the button slide. The article receiving member is disposed within and slidably mounted within the sheath; the sheath is hollow and may mimic the shape of the article receiving member, but is preferably longer so as to be able to receive cosmetic material; the sheath has an open end.

The second end of the article receiving member engages the button slide; the second end of the article receiving member may have an engagement region, ring, groove, slot, or shelf, wherein the button slide may be attached and engaged. Figures 23 and 24 show the shape of the engagement region on the second end of the article area mimicking the portion of the end of the arm or button slider; this can be described as a male/female connection.

The button slider has a first button slider end and a second button slider end; the first button slider end and the second button slider end are perpendicularly arranged with respect to each other; the second end of the button slider is also perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath. The button slider allows a user to apply a force along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; this force is transferred to the second end of the button sled to raise or lower the article receiving member relative to the sheath.

The second end of the button slide may have a length that extends substantially, partially, or over the entire length of the article holder to help provide sufficient contact surface area to apply a constant force to the article holder when a user or consumer applies an upward or downward force to the first end of the button slide.

The button slider engages one end of a sheath that may have a slot, channel, or groove to allow the article receiving member to move up and down the length of the sheath in a measured or controlled manner. The L-shape of the button slide is important (but not intended to be limiting) because it applies force to the center of the article holder. Other embodiments may allow the slot or groove in the sheath to have indexing teeth.

The end cap may encase the assembly of the article containment member, the button slider, and the sheath; the top cover is assembled over the sheath, the product-containing member and the button-slide assembly; the end shield or base may have a boss structure or guide for engaging the sheath, article holder or button slider assembly. As shown in fig. 21 and 22, the end cap and top cover (or lid) together completely cover the assembled device.

Fig. 28 and 29 illustrate another embodiment of the invention in which multiple devices are joined together at the end shield region. The connector end cap allows for multiple devices to be connected at the end of the end cap so that the consumer can have different types or colors of cosmetics in one easy to use article.

Fig. 24 shows another preferred version of the button slider in which there are prongs, bosses or teeth that curve back and forth over the sheath teeth to create a smoother sliding feedback with slots or channels on the sheath.

The button slider and the product holder or cup may be combined into one piece; however, the combined push-button slider and product holder may work best in certain situations (small diameter cylindrical cup); the effect is poor when a larger form is used for the combined button slider and product holder; this is likely due to unbalanced sliding forces, which can lead to jamming of the device.

For most applications, the connection between the button slider and the article holder should preferably be non-rigid (e.g., possibly attached by a living hinge) or allow some bending. Without limitation, it is preferred that the device maintain its own center without unbalanced forces on one side (i.e., a rectangular footprint when pushed from the short side).

Various shapes of the article receiving member, sheath or warhead: such devices and mechanisms for propelling a substance or article may use a variety of cup and sheath shapes, including square, triangular, or even circular. In addition to articles facing in opposite directions, the device may also have a plurality of cups facing in the same direction; for example, we can have a single sheath with two product-containing members parallel to each other (each containing its own product or substance) and a sliding button on each side.

Sheath friction surface: the inner or first surface of the sheath may also have another embodiment, namely a graduated width, such that the lower part of the slider has a different, wider or greater width than the middle or upper part of the slider. As a result, when the consumer applies an initial upward force to the button slide, the button slide may more easily move the article holder upward or from the first height to the second height because of less material in the first surface of the sheath and less friction or resistance.

30-36 illustrate an applicator tip for a cosmetic pen to allow cosmetic product to be applied to a user's eyebrows; there is an overmolded applicator having a first end and a second end; the second end part is jointed with the base of the cosmetic pencil; the first end of the applicator has multiple or at least one opening at different angles to allow an amount of transfer of cosmetic from the cosmetic pen, through the applicator tip, and onto the user's skin or face.

Claims

1. A device for containing a cosmetic product, comprising:

a base, at least one inner tray, an inner lid, and an outer lid;

the base having a base opening and a base wall;

the at least one inner tray having a tray opening and a pivot post;

the pivot post is engageable with the base opening on the base;

the at least one inner tray has a first magnetic connection;

Said inner lid having an engagement slot for said pivot post of said at least one inner tray and having a second magnetic connection;

the first magnetic connector of the at least one inner tray is similarly oriented to the second magnetic connector of the inner lid;

the outer cover is assembled on the inner cover;

the tray opening of the at least one inner tray is capable of receiving a container for the cosmetic product;

whereby said at least one inner tray is able to swing about said pivot post and rotate from a first position to a second position and said first magnetic coupling of said at least one inner tray engages said second magnetic coupling of said inner lid to retain said device in a closed position.

2. The device of claim 1, wherein the cover is transparent or has a mirror.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein there is a second inner tray.

4. A device for containing a cosmetic substance, comprising:

an article holder having a first article holder end for holding the cosmetic substance and having a second article holder end;

the article receiving member is disposed within a sheath and slidably fits within the sheath;

The sheath is hollow and has an open sheath end;

the sheath having a channel extending along a longitudinal axis of the sheath;

a button slider slidably engaged with the sheath;

the button slider has a first button slider end and a second button slider end;

the first button slider end and the second button slider end are perpendicularly arranged with respect to each other;

the second button slider end is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheath;

the second button slider end is engaged with the article receptacle;

the first button slider end is slidably engaged with the sheath;

wherein the button slider allows a consumer to apply a force along the longitudinal axis of the sheath; the force is transferred from the first button slider end to the second button slider end and to the article holder along the longitudinal axis of the sheath such that the article holder is movable from a first height to a second height.

5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein a cap fits over the sheath, the product containing member, and the button sled; and a base is engaged with the sheath.

6. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the second button slider end has at least one resilient prong that engages the channel on the sheath.

7. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the second button slider end has two resilient prongs that engage with the channel on the sheath.

8. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein the article receiving member has at least one rib.

9. The device of claim 4, wherein the article holder has a first cavity portion for engaging the first button slider end; the article holder has a second cavity portion for engaging the second button slider end.

10. The device of claim 4, wherein a connector base connects a plurality of the devices together.
