Can be used for treating rheumatoid and rheumatic arthritis, glomerulonephritis, nephrotic syndrome, intractable headache and body pain, lupus erythematosus, Behcet disease, psoriasis, leprosy, eczema, scabies, intractable tinea, and venomous snake bite.
Du Huo is pungent and bitter in flavor and slightly warm in nature. It enters kidney and bladder meridians. Dispel wind and dampness, relieve arthralgia and alleviate pain. Can be used for treating arthralgia due to wind-cold-dampness, lumbago, gonalgia, headache due to wind-cold-yin deficiency, and headache due to wind-cold-dampness.
Qiang Huo is pungent and bitter in flavor and warm in nature. Enter bladder and kidney meridians. Relieve exterior syndrome, dispel cold, expel wind and remove dampness, and alleviate pain. Speranskia herb, pungent in flavor and warm in nature. Enter liver and kidney meridians. Dispelling pathogenic wind and removing dampness, relieving rigidity of muscles and promoting blood circulation, removing blood stasis and detumescence, removing toxic substance and relieving pain. Rheumatic arthralgia, contracture of muscles and bones, cold-dampness beriberi, waist sprain, paralysis, amenorrhea, eczema of scrotum, sore and furuncle pyogenic infections.
Drynaria rhizome, bitter in taste and warm in nature. It enters liver and kidney meridians. Promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Tonify kidney, strengthen bone, heal wound and alleviate pain. For: lumbago due to kidney deficiency, tinnitus, deafness, loose teeth, traumatic injury, contusion, and fracture of bones and muscles; it is used externally to treat alopecia areata and vitiligo.
Lu Lian Tong is bitter in taste and neutral in nature. The liver and kidney meridians. Dispel wind, activate collateral flow, induce diuresis, dredge meridians. Can be used for treating arthralgia, numbness, spasm, edema, distention, oliguria, and amenorrhea.
Asarum herb, wild ginger, pungent in flavor and warm in nature. It enters heart, lung and kidney meridians. Relieving exterior syndrome, dispelling cold, dispelling pathogenic wind, relieving pain, dredging orifices, warming lung, and eliminating phlegm. Bi Xie is bitter in flavor and neutral in nature. It enters kidney and stomach meridians. Induce diuresis to remove turbid pathogen, dispel wind to remove arthralgia. Spatholobus stem, bitter in taste, slightly sweet and warm in nature. It enters liver meridian. Promote blood circulation, enrich blood, relax tendons and activate collaterals. Can be used for treating menoxenia, amenorrhea due to blood deficiency, rheumatalgia, and apoplexy.
Lycopodium clavatum, bitter and slightly pungent in flavor, warm in nature. Dispel wind and dampness, relax tendons and activate collaterals. Can be used for treating joint pain and difficulty in flexion and extension.
Mulberry twig, slightly bitter in taste, mild in nature. It enters liver meridian. Dispel wind-damp and benefit joints. Can be used for treating rheumatism, shoulder pain, arm pain, and arthralgia.
Bai Zhi is pungent in flavor and warm in nature. It enters lung, spleen and stomach meridians. Relieving exterior syndrome, dispelling cold, dispelling pathogenic wind, relieving pain, dredging nasal orifice, eliminating dampness, relieving leukorrhagia, relieving swelling, expelling pus, dispelling pathogenic wind, and relieving itching. Can be used for treating wind-cold type common cold, headache, toothache, rheumatalgia, nasosinusitis, leukorrhagia, sore, carbuncle, and toxic swelling.
Tao ren is bitter and sweet in flavor and neutral in nature. It enters heart, liver and large intestine meridians. Promote blood circulation to remove blood stasis, moisten intestines to relieve constipation, and relieve cough and dyspnea. Can be used for treating amenorrhea, dysmenorrhea, abdominal mass, pulmonary abscess, intestinal carbuncle, traumatic injury, intestinal dryness, constipation, cough, and asthma.

Du Zhong is sweet and slightly pungent in flavor and warm in nature. Enter liver and kidney meridians. Tonify liver and kidney, strengthen tendons and bones, prevent abortion. It is indicated for soreness and pain of lumbar and knees, atrophy and weakness of feet and knees, dribbling urination, itching of vulva, vaginal bleeding, threatened abortion, and hypertension.
Red peony root, bitter in taste and slightly cold in nature. It enters liver meridian. Clear heat and cool blood, dissipate blood stasis and alleviate pain. Can be used for treating heat entering nutrient-blood, macula due to warm toxin, hematemesis and epistaxis, conjunctival congestion and swelling and pain, liver depression and hypochondriac pain, amenorrhea and dysmenorrhea, addictions and abdominal pain, traumatic injury, carbuncle, swelling, sore and ulcer.
Mugwort leaf, pungent and bitter in flavor and warm in nature. It enters liver, spleen and kidney meridians. Warming channels to stop bleeding, dispelling cold and relieving pain; externally used for eliminating dampness and relieving itching. Can be used for treating hematemesis, epistaxis, metrorrhagia, menorrhagia, vaginal bleeding, lower abdomen psychroalgia, menoxenia, and infertility due to cold womb; it can be used for treating skin pruritus.
