Abstract

A safety system allowing the transmission of electric power from a fixed panel to a movable platform, consisting of a hose coupling placed on a coaxial cable and/or on a (variable voltage) power supply and/or on a ground cable, which hose coupling is inserted through an interlocking system of mechanical couplings, eventually preventing accidents due to the accidental detachment of the cable from the support. Through the innovation of combining the butt joint of the bolt joint and the half rotation of the two parts, the continuity of power flow is ensured, and the possibility of disconnection and falling of the two parts is reduced to the maximum extent.

Description

Safety system consisting of hose couplings inserted through an interlocking system of mechanical couplings and placed on coaxial cables and/or on (variable voltage) power and/or ground cables, allowing the transmission of electric power from a fixed panel to a movable platform, eventually preventing accidents due to the accidental detachment of the cables from the cradle
Technical Field
The object of the present invention is to provide a mechanical coupling (joint) which, in combination with a coupling (sleeve), allows to connect cables for power transmission to a pre-existing support.
Background
The present invention is designed for use in various platforms and shipyards. Particularly in these places, in order to enable the operator to perform welding and woodworking work, it is necessary to transmit electric power from the pre-existing fixed panel to the operating site. The known connection means have the drawback that they do not allow a firm and effective anchoring, and they do not guarantee a stable and continuous energy flow in the event of an accidental movement of the joint, which is a necessary condition for carrying out a complete weld. In addition, the connectors on the market are very heavy, since the systems adopted by the connectors only allow the use of ground wire connections.
Usually during the welding operation, the technician must overcome the problem of accidental detachment and instability of the coupling, which can be caused by the immature method of coupling it to the mobile platform, or by the encumbrance caused by the use of a large number of heavy cables, which can currently be solved only by mechanisms that are not perfectly matched and some alternate expedients, which, however, do not guarantee the safety of the work and construction site, even if only because of the problems caused by vibrations.
The couplings on the market are particularly easy to fall off due to the simple and timely interlocking system, thereby causing accidents. In practice these systems are limited by the weight and size of the ground wire connected by the hose coupling, which makes it difficult, if not impossible, to rotate and interlock with any possible couplings.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention overcomes this drawback by applying a bayonet joint docking system with a half-turn function and locking and releasing by means of a safety button equipped with a harmonic spring, allowing to connect a coaxial cable for power transmission to the cradle.
In advantageous cases, the system can prevent the accidental fall of the power cable from the rack or from other cable mains. In fact, the release of the cable is completed manually and voluntarily by the operator who presses both keys simultaneously and has to rotate the sleeve to completely disconnect it. The system also allows transmission through coaxial cables, which are inherently easier to manage than the cables currently in use.
In particular, the invention makes it possible to connect the sleeve to a mechanical coupling mounted on the bracket by rotating the annular collar in the blocking direction marked with the word "closed" on the coupling.
Specifically, once the two parts are engaged, two buttons equipped with harmonic springs on the sleeve must be pressed to separate them again. The locking mechanism described in this way, once engaged, does not allow the connector to rotate in the annular ferrule to be extracted, unless the technician has to press the push button and simultaneously rotate in the release (opening) direction, by voluntary intervention of the technician.
Detailed Description
The invention will now be explained with reference to the drawings, which show details of the invention in an assembly and in an individual form for each part.
Page 1 of the drawings (including figures a, B, C, D) shows the components of the present invention.
The transverse projection of the entire assembled sleeve is shown in fig. B.
Axonometric view D shows the sleeve and the mechanical coupling before engagement. In the same figure, the coupling mechanism of the annular collar engaged by rotation with the mechanical coupling is shown.
Page 2 of the drawings shows a two-dimensional cross-section of the sleeve.
In fig. E (detail 2), the teeth of the push button and the snap-in harmonic snap spring allowing locking of the sleeve are highlighted.
In fig. F, the locking mechanism is seen in the engaged state when the operator inserts the sleeve into the mechanical coupling. From the same figure it can be understood how the engagement mechanism of the invention engages with the mechanical coupling, in particular by rotating the annular collar in the indicated locking (close) direction, by means of a dual system, i.e. a latch of the key and a bayonet joint docking system.
In fig. E of the drawing on page 2, a part 5 is shown, which, as a push-button, depends on the harmonic spring, technically making it possible to disengage the sleeve only by voluntary intervention of the mechanical coupling.
In fig. E, position 7 shows how the system has all its components and pre-existing brackets locked and securely fastened together to ensure improved power transfer efficiency during welding use.
The part of figure E mentioned above must also be compared with the part of figure 4 to see the mechanism of operation of the locking system, in particular how to fix the central body of the connector containing the cable in position 1 and to engage it with position 2 having a locking effect, the screw named V1 (figure E of figure 2) going into position 7 until it reaches the body previously named position 1 (figure 4) to determine the locking.
In fig. E, the button is also shown, which, due to its spring being pressed, allows to hold position 3 and position 7 together, locking the components in the anti-unlocking ("close") position, and finally locking the components together by inserting position 1 into position 2 with timely braking in its internal stem to ensure ergonomic grip and safety during the unlocking engagement phase.
In figure M (detail 4) of the drawing on page 3 of the description, it can be seen how the mechanical coupling constituting the safety system can be quickly mounted on the control panel already on the market, on the pre-existing welding generator and on any mobile support for different sectors of industry, in particular on any mobile support of a naval vessel, by means of a threaded screw system, so as to allow the quick installation of the safety system.
