Background
Childhood depression is a type of mental disorder with a major manifestation of depressed mood that arises during childhood or adolescence. Investigations by american researchers have shown that the incidence of depression in children is 0.4% to 2.5%, and this ratio may rise to 5% to 10% in adolescents, consistent with australian and italian findings, with similar rates of male and female prevalence before the age of 10, and later increasing female prevalence approaching a 1: 2 ratio between male and female with increasing age.
Treatment of depression, the most common of adults is drug therapy. While children and teenagers are in a special stage of growth and development, the treatment compliance is poor, the medicines cannot be taken according to the dose on time, the application of the medicine treatment is relatively limited, the treatment effect is poor, and the risk of self-injury and suicide can be increased seriously. The non-drug treatment method mainly based on psychotherapy has better treatment effect.
Household psychotherapy is a psychotherapy method involving at least two or more family members and aimed at restoring healthy social functions of the family. Family treatment focuses on the interaction among family members, and the pathological behavior of an individual to be changed must be based on the change of the overall interaction pattern of the family.
