Description
The present invention claims priority from french application 1906367 filed on 14, 6, 2019, the contents of which (text, figures and claims) are incorporated herein by reference.
Technical Field
The invention relates to an assembly guide for a Panhard rod (barre Panhard) of a motor vehicle.
Background
As is known, a flexible axle of a motor vehicle comprises two longitudinal swing arms, each of which carries a wheel at one of its ends. These swing arms are fitted to be pivotable at the other end portions thereof with respect to the body of the vehicle about an axis parallel to the axis of the rear wheel.
An elastic cushioning member abutting against the arm adjacent the wheel elastically supports the vehicle body, and a torsionally elastically deformable tilt-preventing transverse rod or beam is rigidly coupled with the two arms by its ends. For the reasons of absorbing forces and guiding the rear axle sideways in suspension movements, a rod called panhard rod is arranged in a substantially horizontal plane close to the axis of rotation of the rear wheels and couples one of the arms with the body of the vehicle.
The panhard rod is usually assembled using a fixing clip having only a vertical stop function. The part made of plastic is fixed on the vehicle body through clamping.
The panhard rod is fixed to the body of the vehicle after the swing arm when the axle is assembled, so that the panhard rod should compensate for dimensional deviations associated with the assembly of the axle to the body. The panhard rod should therefore be assembled under force such that the hinge coincides with the corresponding fixed interface of the base structure part.
However, the existing fixing clip does not secure mechanical strength in the lateral direction, so that there is a great risk of unhooking the fixing clip when the panhard rod is assembled under force.
Disclosure of Invention
The present invention aims to effectively overcome this drawback by providing an assembly guide for a panhard rod, comprising:
-a body made of plastic material, said body being open at the lower part for the passage of the panhard rod, said body being equipped with position guiding means for positionally guiding the panhard rod, and
An insert made of metallic material, arranged in the upper part of the body, comprising a through opening for the passage of a fixing member for ensuring the fixing of the guide on a base structural part of a motor vehicle.
The invention thus enables the assembly guide of the panhard rod to be rigidly coupled to the vehicle body by means of a threaded assembly. The invention thus ensures the mechanical strength of the guide when the panhard rod is assembled under force. The assembly guide may also replace optional electrical welds or constitute a solid anchor for securing auxiliary functions.
According to one embodiment, the body is overmolded onto the insert.
According to one embodiment, the insert is crimped onto the body.
According to one embodiment, the position-guiding component comprises a cutout provided in a corresponding side of the body, against which cutout the hinge of the panhard rod is intended to rest.
According to one embodiment, the incision has a flared shape. This can gradually compensate for dimensional deviations of the axle assembly.
According to one embodiment, the assembly guide comprises a pre-holding member for pre-holding on the base structure part.
According to one embodiment, the pre-holding part comprises a positioning boss pin and/or a snap tab.
The invention also relates to an assembly for a motor vehicle, comprising a panhard rod, a base structural part and an assembly guide, which is an assembly guide as defined above fixed to the base structural part.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an assembly as defined above.

Detailed Description
The relevant terms of "upper", "lower", "horizontal", "vertical" type are understood by reference to the assembly guide in the use position being assembled on the body of the vehicle. Furthermore, the axis X corresponds to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, and the axis Y corresponds to a transverse axis perpendicular to the axis X and lying in a horizontal plane. The axis Z is a vertical axis perpendicular to the plane formed by the axis X and the axis Y.
Fig. 1 shows an assembly guide 10 for a panhard rod 11, comprising a body 12 and an insert 13. The body 12 is made of a plastics material. The body 12 is open at a lower portion for the passage of the panhard rod 11. The panhard rod 11 is arranged in a substantially horizontal plane close to the axis of rotation of the rear wheels and couples the arms of the rear axle with the body of the vehicle.
In this case, as shown in fig. 2, 3 and 4, the body 12 of the guide 10 comprises two lateral sides 15, which are coupled to each other by a coupling wall 17. The body 12 thus delimits a space open towards the bottom on the side opposite the coupling wall 17. The body 12 is oriented along a transverse direction Y of the vehicle along which the panhard rod 11 extends longitudinally.
The insert 13 is advantageously made of a metallic material. An insert 13 is arranged in the upper part of the body 12. The insert 13 comprises a through opening 18 for the passage of a securing member 19 for ensuring the securing of the guide 10 on a base structure part 20 of the motor vehicle. The base part 20 is, for example, a small hollow longitudinal beam located at the underbody of the vehicle. The axis X1 of the through opening 18 extends along the vertical direction Z. The fixing member 19 is preferably a screw for mating with a fixing interface, such as a nut 21 (see fig. 2) integrated in the base part 20. The head of said screw is intended to rest against the inner surface of the insert 13.
The body 12 of the guide 10 may be overmolded onto the insert 13 as shown in fig. 1, 2,3 and 4. In this case, the insert 13 may form the upper wall of the guide 10. In a variant, the insert 13 is fixed to the body 12 of the guide 10 by crimping, as shown in fig. 5a and 5 b. For this purpose, the insert 13 is equipped with jaws 22 for cooperation with corresponding shapes 23 of the body 12.
The body 12 made of plastic further comprises a position guiding means 25 for guiding the panhard rod 11 in position, which is able to ensure that the hinge 26 of the rod 11 is positioned facing the corresponding fixed interface 30 of the base part 20. The fixing interface 30 is, for example, a nut for receiving a fixing screw 28 through the hinge 26, as shown in fig. 2 and 3.
These position-guiding means 25 consist of a cutout 32 provided in each side 15, against which the hinge 26 of the panhard rod 11 is intended to rest. In the example shown, the cutout 32 has a flared shape, in particular a V-shape. The larger portion of the cutout 32 is positioned toward the bottom so as to be able to gradually compensate for dimensional deviations of the axle assembly.
When the panhard rod 11 abuts the bottom of the cutout 32 and is held laterally by the edges of the cutout 32, it is ensured that the hinge 26 is positioned facing the fixed interface 30 of the base part 20. The cutout 32 thus ensures a stop function for the hinge 26 along the vertical axis Z and along the transverse axis Y. Thereby enabling the set screw 28 to be inserted through the hinge 26 to be screwed into the interior of the nut 30 of the base part 20. The axis X2 of the hinge 26 extends along the longitudinal axis X.
In a variant, the cutout 32 may have other flared shapes adapted to the application, which are capable of guiding the articulation 26 of the rod 11 in position with respect to the corresponding fixed interface 30 of the base part 20.
As best seen in fig. 2 and 3, the guide 10 further includes a pre-holding member 34 for pre-holding on the base part 20. The pre-holding part 34 in this case comprises a positioning pin 35 arranged at the end of the guide 10 and a snap tab 36 arranged on the side 15 of the guide 10. In a variant, the pre-holding part 34 comprises one of these two elements 35 or 36.
In the assembly phase, the body of the vehicle covers the rear axle, and the arms of the axle are then fixed to the body of the motor vehicle.
The guide 10 is mounted by means of the pre-holding part 34 by means of the male pin 35 engaging with a corresponding receiving hole 37 of the base part 20, as shown in fig. 2. The guide 10 is then pivoted such that the snap tabs 36 cooperate with corresponding shapes 38 provided in the base part 20, so as to enable the guide 10 to be kept positionally inside the base part 20.
The guide 10 is then fixed to the base part 20 by means of a set screw 19, which set screw 19 passes through the opening 18 of the insert 13 so as to cooperate with a corresponding nut 21 arranged on the upper surface of the base part 20.
The panhard rod 11 on the vehicle is arranged inside the cutout 32 by a bottom-up movement in order to compensate for dimensional deviations of the axle assembly. Once the panhard rod 11 abuts the bottom of the cutout 32, the hinge 26 is positioned facing the nut 30 integrated on the base part 20. The set screw 28 may thus be inserted into the interior of the bore of the hinge 26 to mate with the nut 30.
The invention also relates to a motor vehicle comprising an assembly as described above.
