Description

Trimmer with wavy cutting edge
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a trimmer for a hair clipper having a wavy cutting edge.
Background
In the prior art, a variety of hair clippers having different blade sets are known. For example, U.S. patent US7,841,901B2 discloses a blade set for a hair clipper that includes at least one stationary blade having a plurality of stationary blade teeth and at least one movable blade having a plurality of stationary blade teeth configured to reciprocate laterally relative to the at least one stationary blade to trim hair. The movable blade includes a set of long teeth configured to cut hair in a width direction of the movable blade and a set of short teeth configured to cut hair in a width direction of the movable blade when a speed of advancement of the hair clipper exceeds a particular speed.
US patent 5,933,953 discloses a hair clipper for cutting hair bundles having a blade set with a stationary blade having a plurality of stationary blade teeth arranged in rows such that when the blade set is moved through the hair bundle, the hair bundle enters between adjacent stationary teeth. The stationary blade teeth have inclined side cutting edges and tips, the side cutting edges of adjacent teeth forming roots where they meet. The movable blade has a plurality of movable blade teeth also arranged in a row. The movable blade teeth are complementary to the stationary blade teeth and pass through the stationary blade teeth in use to trim some of the hair strands. The movable blade teeth are relatively short and preferably have flat tips. The movable blade teeth are separated by a blade-like edge surface that faces the direction of movement of the movable blade and is capable of trimming some of the hair strands that enter between the stationary blade teeth. The knife-like blade edge forms a first line between a second line formed by the fixed blade root and a third line formed by the fixed blade tip.
Such hair clippers are used primarily for cutting hair of the same length. Thus, with such a hair clipper, trimming of the transition section is difficult, as small errors will immediately be noticeable when trimming the transition section.
Disclosure of Invention
It is an object of the present invention to provide a blade arrangement which simplifies the trimming of the transition portion so that an aesthetically pleasing transition portion can be treated even by non-professional users.
This object is solved by a blade arrangement according to claim 1. The dependent claims contain further developments of the invention.
The blade device for a hair clipper according to the present invention includes: a comb having a leading edge configured with tooth elements; a blade having a front cutting edge configured with tooth elements, wherein a front end of the cutting edge is inclined downward toward the cutting edge, and wherein the blade is configured to be movable relative to the comb; a coupling means movably connecting the comb and the blade relative to each other; and a pre-tensioning element pre-loading the comb and the blade towards each other, wherein the cutting edge of the blade is configured to be wavy, wherein the front cutting edge of the blade comprises at least three tooth elements of different lengths and/or the edge of each tooth element is curved corresponding to the wavy shape. By means of tooth elements of different lengths and curved edges of said tooth elements, hair can be cut to slightly different lengths, whereby the cut-off appearance in the transition portion of the hair style can be significantly improved without special training.
Preferably, one wave portion extends from one highest point across at least four tooth elements to another highest point; more preferably, spanning five or six tooth elements and/or spanning up to fifteen tooth elements; particularly preferably, over thirteen or ten tooth elements. In particular, the height from the crest to the trough is between 1mm and 4mm, most preferably 3mm, more preferably 2mm. The peak is the point at which the wave is most forward. The trough is the rearmost point of the wave.
Preferably, the wave portion shape is configured to be uniform, whereby hair of various lengths can be cut more uniformly.
The outermost tooth element may be configured as a peak. Thus, a uniform and particularly symmetrical blade arrangement can be constructed, thereby simplifying production.
In particular, the relatively more forward cutting edge is thinner than the relatively more rearward cutting edge.
Furthermore, the front cutting edge of the upper blade may comprise at least four tooth elements of different lengths, preferably five or six, but at most ten.
Preferably, the tooth elements are arranged in ascending and descending order according to their length. Thereby, the trimmed appearance of the transition portion becomes more uniform and beautiful.

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, the direction "front" means the direction of the tooth element (e.g., at the top side of fig. 4 b), and the direction "rear" means the opposite direction (at the bottom side of fig. 4 b).
Fig. 1 shows an exploded view of the components of a blade device 10 according to the present invention. In fig. 2, the blade arrangement is shown in an installed state. The blade arrangement in fig. 1 and 2 is placed on its upper side on the handle and attached to a drive which produces an oscillating movement. The motor of the drive is placed in the handle, which is common in hair clippers.
Blade arrangement 10 comprises a comb 30, blades 40, 50, 60, 70, a pretensioning element 16 as spring element 16 and a connecting device. The attachment means are used to attach comb 30 and upper blades 40, 50, 60, 70 and comprise a plurality of components, the function and number of which may vary. In the embodiment shown, the connection means comprise a holder 12, which holder 12 is attached to the comb 30 by means of a fixture 13, and which holder 12 is placed on the handle of the hair clipper and is attached to the handle, for example by means of a detent mechanism. The holder 12 then also holds the other components of the connection device on the comb 30. Furthermore, the connecting means comprises a slider 14, an actuating element 18, a spring element 16 and a transmission element 20, wherein the slider 14 is connected to the blade 40, 50, 60, 70 and is capable of pushing the blade 40, 50, 60, 70 forward and backward to set the trimming characteristics (see arrow a in fig. 2); the slide 14 is actuated by an actuating element 18; spring element 16 is secured in bore 42 of the blade by hooked end 17 and presses the blade against comb 30; the transmission element 20 transmits the oscillating movement of the drive to the blades 40, 50, 60, 70. Specifically, oscillation occurs in the lateral direction (see arrow B in fig. 2). The transmission element 20 may be firmly connected to the blade 40, 50, 60, 70.
In fig. 2, the blade apparatus 10 is shown in an installed state, wherein all components of the blade apparatus 10 are installed. In fig. 1 and 2, an embodiment of the blade 40 of fig. 4 is shown. It should be understood that this is merely exemplary and that the blade arrangement described may be used with any blade.
In fig. 3, a comb 30 is shown. Fig. 3a is a view of the upper side of comb 30 with blade device 10 attached to the handle of a hair clipper. Comb 30 includes a leading edge 34, leading edge 34 including tooth elements 36. Furthermore, comb 30 comprises two holes 38, and the connecting device is fixed to holes 38 by fixing element 13. The tooth element 36 is preferably conical, whereby the underside (see fig. 3 b) against which the blades 40, 50, 60, 70 rest is shaped flat so as not to hinder trimming. This means that the ramp 31 is present on the upper side and may preferably also start in front of the tooth element.
Fig. 3c is a side view of comb 30. The hole 38 is located in the recess 37. Furthermore, the recess 35 is also located in front of the tooth element 36. In these recesses, the blades 40, 50, 60, 70 are inserted in such a way that they can be moved forward and backward by means of the actuating element and laterally by means of the drive.
In fig. 4 to 7, different embodiments of the blade arrangement are shown. The overall structure of the blades 40, 50, 60, 70 is identical. Accordingly, the following description applies to all of the blades 50, 60, 70. In fig. 4a, 5a, 6a and 7a, an isometric view of the underside of the blades 40, 50, 60, 70 is shown. Fig. 4b, 5b, 6b and 7b are views of the upper sides of blades 50, 60, 70 against comb 30, and fig. 4c, 5c, 6c and 7c are views of the lower sides of blades 40, 50, 60, 70. In the blades 40, 50, 60, 70, fixing recesses 41, 51, 61, 71 for fixing the transmission element 20 are positioned. The two sides of the fastening recesses 41, 51, 61, 71 are provided with bores 42, 52, 62, 72 for the spring elements 16.
Fig. 4d shows a side view of the blade 40. As can be seen from the side, the blade 40 has two bearing seats 45, the bearing seats 45 being accommodated in the recesses 35, 37 in the assembled state. The seat 45 and the recesses 35, 37 are configured such that forward/backward movement of the blade 40 is ensured by the actuating element 18. The connection portion 43 connects the seats of the blade 40 to each other like a bridge. Fig. 4e is a rear view of the blade 40 and fig. 4f is a front view showing the cutting edges of the tooth elements 46. These views are not shown in the embodiments shown in fig. 5, 6 and 7. However, these blades 50, 60, 70 are formed accordingly.
Tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 are located at the leading edge 44, 54, 64, 74 of blade 40. The tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 are configured to be undulating. This means that the forwardly extending extension (top side in fig. 4 b) of the individual tooth elements 46 is particularly adapted to a uniform wave shape. Thus, the tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 have different lengths in the forward direction such that the tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 have at least three different lengths (short, medium, long) and the wave portion passes from one longest tooth element 46, 56, 66, 76 to the other longest tooth element 46, 56, 66, 76. The outward tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 are preferably also the largest tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76, so that the wave section always ends at the maximum. Furthermore, it is not necessary to place tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 at each maximum of the wave line. The leading edges of tooth elements 46, 56, 66, 76 have cutting edges 48, 58, 68, 78, the undersides of which (the sides facing away from comb 30) are inclined. This is shown from the side in fig. 4 d. The front views of fig. 4c, 5c, 6c and 7c also show the slope of the cutting edges 48, 58, 68, 78. The wave shape is preferably uniform (which means that it is identical in repetition), and more preferably also symmetrically formed with respect to a line perpendicular to the maximum of the wave.
In the embodiment of fig. 4, not only the course of the tooth elements 46 is adapted to the wave, but also the geometry of the cutting edges 48 of the individual tooth elements 46, whereby these cutting edges 48 are formed curved in accordance with the wave (see the enlarged views in fig. 1 and 2). In the embodiment of fig. 4, each wave extends across three or four tooth elements 46, and is therefore a "shortwave". Since there are at least three tooth elements 46 of different lengths depending on the adjustment of the wave portion, the specific configuration of the tooth elements 46 may vary among other things. For example, tooth element 46' is the same length as tooth element 46″ but has a different curvature. The manner in which the cutting edge 48 is configured according to the wave line can be seen. Here, the "short wave" is shown, while the cutting edges of the "medium wave" and the "long wave" described below are configured with corresponding wave lines.
In fig. 5, a second embodiment of the tooth element is shown. Typically, the configuration of the blade 50 is the same as in fig. 4, only in which case the wave shape presents a longer wave, meaning that one wave extends across five, six or seven tooth elements 56, thus being a "mid wave". Also in this embodiment, the cutting edge 58 is configured to be curved in accordance with the wave line.
In fig. 6, a third embodiment of the tooth element is shown. Also in this case, the configuration of the blade 60 is the same as that of the first embodiment shown in fig. 4. The shape of this wave exhibits a longer wave than the "mid wave" in fig. 5. This means that one such wave section here contains ten, eleven or even more tooth elements 66. The wave portion of this shape is called a "long wave portion". Also in this embodiment, the cutting edge 58 is configured to be curved in accordance with the wave line.
In fig. 7, another embodiment is shown. Similar to the previous embodiment, the construction of the blade 70 is also the same as the first embodiment shown in fig. 4. In this case, however, the cutting edge 78 of the tooth element 76 is not curved, but the shape of the wave portion passes through the center of the cutting edge 78. The cutting edges of the tooth elements are thus configured to be of different lengths, which tooth elements are not curved but straight. With these tooth elements 76, a wave line is reformed in which two adjacent waves always "share" a maximum. Shown is a preferred embodiment of blade 70, wherein one wave portion always has five tooth elements. This means that the wavy line starts from the long tooth element 76', followed by the medium tooth element 76 ", the short tooth element 76'", and then again by the medium tooth element 76 ". The long tooth element 76' at the end is also the start of the adjacent wave portion. This embodiment may also be applied to longer wave shapes by adding other tooth elements 76 having different lengths (e.g., tooth elements that are as long as the middle tooth element 76 "but shorter than the long tooth element 76').
