Abstract
Provided is a fire extinguisher which reduces the risk of an inadvertent discharge accident caused by the stopper itself falling in a normal situation, and in which the stopper can be easily pulled out from a handle in the event of a fire. According to the fire extinguisher, when the stopper is mounted on the handle, since the gap between the upper handle and the plug is maintained by the gap supporting part, the force pushing the upper handle is not transmitted to the valve stem. When the stopper is separated from the handle, the gap supporting part is horizontally moved by the elastic member so as not to overlap the plug pin, and thus the force pushing the upper handle is transmitted to the valve stem through the pressing part.
Description
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a fire extinguisher, and more particularly, to a fire extinguisher which is easily managed in normal times and is easily used by a user in the event of a fire.
Background
In the case of typical fire extinguishers, which are well known and widely distributed, limitations caused by safety pins have been created.
First, the safety pin is not easily pulled out when a fire is actually occurring. When a fire breaks out, it is very important to use a fire extinguisher to initially extinguish the fire before the fire engine arrives. However, since most people who find a fire are embarrassed and have little experience in using the fire extinguisher, people show a behavior pattern of trying to pull out the safety pin while holding the fire extinguisher by hand. In consideration of the characteristics of a typical fire extinguisher, when holding the fire extinguisher in hand, especially an embarrassing person unconsciously holds the handle with a strong gripping force, and thus the safety pin is not easily pulled out. Therefore, the prime time of a primary fire is often lost.
Second, since the safety pin is loosely inserted into the fire extinguisher at ordinary times, the safety pin is easily separated inadvertently to cause an exhaust accident. In addition, since the safety pin of a typical fire extinguisher is inserted in a horizontal direction in the handle of the fire extinguisher, even if the safety pin is separated, it is not easily recognized.
In order to prevent the safety pin loosely inserted into the handle from being naturally separated, the method of binding the safety pin to the handle using a binding rope is forcibly employed in all countries of the world. Although the binding cord is relatively weak and can be easily cut upon pulling it, a user unaware of this fact may be embarrassed when the user finds the arming pin bound by the binding cord.
Disclosure of Invention
Technical problem
The present invention provides a fire extinguisher having a stopper which is easily removed by a user in the event of a fire without being naturally separated from a handle at ordinary times and having a simpler method of use.
The object of the present invention is not limited to the above object, and other objects not described herein will be clearly understood by those skilled in the art from the following description.
Technical scheme
Embodiments of the present invention provide a fire extinguisher including: a main body container 60 filled with a fire extinguishing agent; a lower handle 20 coupled to a latch 62 provided at an upper portion of the main body container; an upper handle 10 coupled to the lower handle by a first hinge shaft; a valve stem 64 installed at an upper portion of the latch to control discharge of the fire extinguishing agent by vertical movement thereof; the rotating rod 50 is connected with a lower handle or a bolt through a second hinge shaft; a discharge safety device 30 connected to the rotating rod and disposed between the upper handle and the latch to horizontally move; an elastic member mounted on the rotating rod or the discharge safety to allow the discharge safety to move horizontally; and a stopper configured to block horizontal movement of the discharge safety, and the discharge safety includes: a main body portion; a gap support part protruding from the main body part to the plug pin to maintain a gap between the upper handle and the plug pin; and a valve pressing portion protruding from the main body portion toward the valve stem.
When the stopper is mounted on the upper handle, since a gap between the upper handle and the latch is maintained by the gap support part, a force pressing the upper handle is not transmitted to the valve stem, and when the stopper is separated from the upper handle, since the gap support part is horizontally moved by the elastic member so as not to overlap the latch, the force pressing the upper handle may be transmitted to the valve stem through the valve pressing part.
The elastic member may be a rotation spring formed on the second hinge shaft, and when the rotation spring horizontally lifts the rotation lever, the discharge safety device connected to the rotation lever may be horizontally moved between the upper handle and the latch.
The stopper may pass through the upper handle in a horizontal direction or a vertical direction.
The pair of gap supporting parts may be respectively provided at both sides of the valve stem, the pressing part may be provided between the pair of gap supporting parts, and the gap supporting parts may protrude more toward the plug than the pressing part.
The ejection safety may be coupled to the rotary lever by an arm, and the rotary lever and the arm or the arm and the ejection safety may be hingedly coupled to each other.
The elastic member may be a coil spring configured to connect the end portion of the upper handle and the gap supporting portion.
Details of other embodiments are included in the detailed description and the accompanying drawings.
Advantageous effects
As described above, the fire extinguisher according to the present invention exhibits excellent effects as described below.
First, since the elastic member constantly applies a constant pressure to the stopper in a horizontal direction, the risk of a discharge accident can be reduced by preventing the stopper from being unintentionally separated from the handle. Thus, the stopper need not be additionally tied to the handle.
Second, when the stopper is unexpectedly separated from the handle at ordinary times, since the rotating lever is partially lifted by the elastic member, the state of the fire extinguisher can be easily recognized.
Third, in case of fire, when a user tries to pull out the stopper in a state that an embarrassing user tightly holds the handle of the fire extinguisher, the stopper of the present invention can be easily pulled out by hand with a small force, while the stopper of a typical fire extinguisher cannot be pulled out. This is because the force pressing on the handle of the extinguisher is only transmitted to the discharge safety and is not used to press the stopper.
Fourth, since the using process is simpler than that of a typical fire extinguisher, the prime time for initially extinguishing a fire can be reduced.

Detailed Description
Advantages and features of the present invention and methods of accomplishing the same will be set forth in the following description of embodiments with reference to the accompanying drawings. This invention may, however, be embodied in different forms and should not be construed as limited to the embodiments set forth herein. Rather, these embodiments are provided so that this disclosure will be thorough and complete, and will fully convey the scope of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. Furthermore, the present disclosure is to be limited only by the scope of the claims. Like reference numerals refer to like elements throughout.
The discharge safety device of the present invention can be applied to various fire extinguishers including upper and lower handles (or levers), for example, a powder fire extinguisher, a halide fire extinguisher, a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher and a loading stream fire extinguisher. Therefore, the powder fire extinguisher mentioned in the embodiment of the present invention is merely exemplary, and the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, when the discharge safety device of the present invention is applied to a fire extinguisher without a discharge hose, the rotating rod may have a different shape than a shape surrounding one side of the discharge hose.
Hereinafter, a fire extinguisher according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 1 to 6. Here, fig. 1 is a front view and a partial sectional view of a fire extinguisher according to an embodiment of the present invention. Fig. 2 is a partially cut-away perspective view of the fire extinguisher of fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a perspective view of the upper handle of fig. 1. Fig. 4 is a perspective view of the lower handle of fig. 1. Fig. 5 is a perspective view of the rotating lever of fig. 1. Fig. 6 is a perspective view of the discharge safety included in the fire extinguisher of fig. 1.
First, referring to fig. 1 and 2, a fire extinguisher 100 of the present invention includes: a main body container 60 filled with a fire extinguishing agent; a lower handle 20 coupled to a latch 62 provided at an upper portion of the main body container 60; a discharge hose 70 connected to the latch 62; an upper handle 10 coupled with a lower handle 20 by a first hinge shaft 12; a valve stem 64 installed at an upper portion of the latch 62 and vertically moved to control discharge of the fire extinguishing agent; a rotating lever 50 coupled with the lower handle 20 or the latch 62 by a second hinge shaft 52; an exhaust guard 30 connected to the rotating bar 50 and disposed between the upper handle 10 and the latch 62 to move horizontally; an elastic member 56 installed in the rotating rod 50 and allowing the discharge safety 30 to move horizontally; and a stopper 40 mounted on the upper handle 10 to prevent horizontal movement of the discharge safety 30.
Specifically, the latch 62 is screw-coupled to the upper portion of the main body container 60. A valve stem 64 is installed inside the plug 62, and a valve rubber 61 is installed at the lower end of the valve stem 64. The seal between the valve rubber 61 and the plug 62 is maintained because the valve spring 63 disposed below the valve rubber 61 applies a force to the valve rubber 61 and the valve stem 64 in an upward direction. The discharge of fire suppressant may be controlled by the vertical movement of valve stem 64. In the case of a fire, when the discharge safety 30, particularly the valve pressing portion 32, pushes the valve stem 64 downward by pushing the upper handle 10, the charged fire extinguishing agent is discharged through the gap generated between the valve rubber 61 and the plug 62 and through the discharge hose 70.
Referring to fig. 3, the upper handle 10 includes an integral long plate and a sidewall formed at a side of the plate. The upper handle 10 may have, for example, a U-shaped cross-section such that the discharge safety 30 moves horizontally in the upper handle 10. The upper handle 10 is coupled with the lower handle 20 by a first hinge shaft 12, and for this, a hole 12a into which the first hinge shaft 12 is inserted is defined in a sidewall of the upper handle 10.
A hole 40a may be defined in the sidewall of the upper handle 10, and the stopper 40 is inserted into the hole 40 a. The stopper 40, which is a member mounted on the upper handle 10 to block the horizontal movement of the discharge guard 30, may be made of a rigid material. For example, the stopper 40 may include a safety pin. Referring to fig. 2 and 3, a stopper 40 may pass through the upper handle 10 in a horizontal direction through a hole 40a and be disposed behind the discharge safety 30 to effectively block the movement of the discharge safety 30.
Referring to fig. 4, the lower handle 20 includes an integral long plate and a sidewall formed at a side of the plate. An opening into which the latch 62 is inserted is defined in the plate of the lower handle 20. The lower handle 20 is coupled with the upper handle 10 by a first hinge shaft 12, and for this, a hole 12b into which the first hinge shaft 12 is inserted is defined in a sidewall of the lower handle 20. In addition, the lower handle 20 is connected to the rotating lever 50 by a second hinge shaft 52, and a hole 52b into which the second hinge shaft 52 is inserted is defined in a sidewall of the lower handle 20 for this purpose.
The elastic member 56 may include, for example, a rotation spring formed on the second hinge shaft 52. The elastic member 56 may be installed between the rotating lever 50 and the lower handle 20 about the second hinge shaft 52. When the resilient member 56 lifts the rotating rod 50 horizontally relative to the lower handle 20, the resilient member 56 may allow the discharge safety 30 connected to the rotating rod 50 to move horizontally between the upper handle 10 and the latch 62.
Referring to fig. 5, the rotating rod 50 may be a gently curved shape as a whole to cover at least one side of the discharge hose 70 and have, for example, a U-shaped section. The rotating lever 50 is connected to the lower handle 20 by a second hinge shaft 52, and a hole 52c, through which the second hinge shaft 52 is inserted, is defined in a sidewall of the rotating lever 50. However, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the rotating rod 50 may be hingedly coupled to the latch 62. The rotating lever 50 is coupled with the discharge fuse 30 by using the arm 34, and a hole 54c may be defined in a sidewall of the rotating lever 50 for coupling between the rotating lever 50 and the arm 34.
Referring to fig. 6, the discharge preventing means 30 includes a body 31, a gap supporting portion 36 protruding downward from the body 31 to the plug 62, and a valve pressing portion 32 protruding from the body 31 to the valve stem 64.
The gap support 36 supports the upper handle 10 and the latch 62 to maintain a gap therebetween, and the valve pressing part 32 transmits a force pressing the upper handle 10 to the valve stem 64. The pair of gap supports 36 may be respectively provided on both sides of the valve stem 64, and the pressing portion 32 may be provided between the pair of gap supports 36. The gap supporting portion 36 and the valve pressing portion 32 may be formed in a stepped portion in a longitudinal direction of the fire extinguisher 100, i.e., the gap supporting portion 36 may protrude from the main body portion 31 to the plug 62 more than the valve pressing portion 32.
The discharge fuse 30 is coupled to a rotary rod 50 via an arm 34. First, the arm 34 and the rotating lever 50 may be coupled with various types, such as a hinge. In this case, the arm 34 and the rotating lever 50 may be coupled by a hinge shaft passing through the hole 54d of the arm 34 and the hole 54c of the rotating lever 50. Additionally, the arm 34 and the ejection safety 30 may be coupled using various types of couplings, such as a hinge coupling. Although the rotation lever 50, the arm 34, and the discharge guard 30 are exemplarily described as separate components in the present embodiment, the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the rotating lever 50 and the arm 34 may be integrally formed of substantially the same material, the arm 34 and the ejection safety 30 may be integrally formed of substantially the same material, and the rotating lever 50, the arm 34, and the ejection safety 30 may be integrally formed of substantially the same material.
Hereinafter, a method for operating a fire extinguisher according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 7 to 8. Fig. 7 is a view illustrating a fire extinguisher according to the present invention in a stopper-mounted state at ordinary times. Fig. 8 is a view illustrating a fire extinguisher according to the present invention in a stopper removed state at the time of a fire.
Referring to fig. 7, when the stopper 40 is mounted on the upper handle 10, although the elastic member 56 mounted on the rotating rod 50 pushes the discharge guard 30 connected to the rotating rod 50 in a horizontal direction (right direction in fig. 7), the movement of the discharge guard 30 may be blocked by the stopper 40. Since the gap supporter 36 maintains the gap between the upper handle 10 and the latch 62 when the discharge preventing means 30 is disposed at the above position, the pressure is not transmitted to the valve stem 64 although the user presses the upper handle 10. Further, since a constant pressure is applied to the stopper 40 in the horizontal direction by the rotational force of the elastic member 56, the stopper 40 is not unintentionally separated from the upper handle 10.
Referring to fig. 8, when the stopper 40 is separated from the upper handle 10, the elastic member 56 mounted on the rotating lever 50 lifts the rotating lever 50 to push the discharge safety device 30 connected to the rotating lever 50 in a horizontal direction (right direction in fig. 7). When the discharge guard 30 is disposed at the above position, the gap supporter 36 is horizontally moved by the elastic member 56 not to overlap the latch 62, and a unit for maintaining the gap between the upper handle 10 and the latch 62 disappears. Therefore, the force pressing the upper handle 10 is transmitted to the stem 64 through the valve pressing portion 32. That is, when the user grips and grasps the upper and lower handles 10 and 20, the valve pressing portion 32 presses the valve stem 64 downward, and the fire extinguishing agent is discharged to the outside through the discharge hose 70.
A fire extinguisher according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 9. Fig. 9 is a partially cut perspective view of a fire extinguisher according to another embodiment of the present invention. For convenience of description, points different from the previous embodiment (fig. 1 to 8) will be mainly described.
As shown in fig. 9, this embodiment in which the stopper 40 passes through the upper handle 10 in the vertical direction can obtain substantially the same action and effect as the previous embodiment. A hole (40 b of fig. 3) may be defined in the plate of the upper handle 10, and a hole (40 c of fig. 4) may be defined in the plate of the lower handle 20, so that the stopper 40 vertically passes through the upper handle 10 and is fixed to the lower handle 20.
A fire extinguisher according to another embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to fig. 10. Fig. 10 is a partially cut perspective view of a fire extinguisher according to another embodiment of the present invention. For convenience of description, points different from the previous embodiment (fig. 1 to 8) will be mainly described.
As shown in fig. 10, when the rotating rod 50 is connected to one side of the discharge fuse 30, an elastic member 56' is installed at the other side of the discharge fuse 30 to pull the discharge fuse 30 in a horizontal direction (right direction in fig. 10). For example, the elastic member 56' may include a coil spring for connecting the end of the upper handle 10 and the gap supporting part 36.
Although it is exemplarily described in the embodiment that the safety pin is mounted on the upper handle or on the upper and lower handles as the stopper, the present invention is not limited thereto. The stopper of the present invention may be any unit for blocking the horizontal movement of the discharge safety device, for example, a receiving bracket mounted on the main body container to receive a discharge hose or a rotating lever may be used as the stopper. In this case, substantially the same action and effect can be obtained although the safety pin or the stopper is not mounted on the handle.
Although the embodiments of the present inventive concept have been described with reference to the accompanying drawings, it will be understood by those of ordinary skill in the art to which the present inventive concept pertains that the present disclosure may be embodied in other specific forms without changing the technical idea or essential features. Accordingly, the above disclosed embodiments are to be considered illustrative and not restrictive.
