Description

Fan housing with integrated motor electronics
Technical Field
The invention relates to a fan housing with integrated motor electronics.
Background
For fans or blowers driven by electronically commutated motors, motors with integrated motor control electronics are typically used. The motor control electronics are usually accommodated in an electronics housing specifically designed for this purpose, which is directly connected to the engine structure.
Due to the complexity of the construction, a large number of housing parts are disadvantageously required, and due to their inaccessibility, replacement of the motor control electronics during maintenance is not possible or can only be done with high assembly costs.
In the case of a direct connection between the motor and the motor control electronics, the electronics housing is designed to be sealed since it is arranged within the medium transported by the fan. The cooling capacity of the motor control electronics is therefore severely limited.
Furthermore, the construction of the motor with the motor control electronics connected and accommodated in the electronics housing results in an increased axial space requirement in the fan housing. The manufacturability of the stator, for example, over-molding or surrounding with plastic to facilitate such use, is limited to small structural dimensions with relatively small diameters, whereby the size of the circuit board for the electronic components is limited and the number of electronic components that can be provided is also limited.
Fans representing the prior art are known, for example, from patent application DE 102010012392 a 1. DE 202015103889U 1 discloses a fan and an electric motor accommodated therein, which has a stator and a rotor connected to a fan wheel, wherein the fan housing is formed by at least one upper housing part and one lower housing part, in one of which housing parts the motor electronics are integrated.
Another embodiment provides that the housing accommodates the electronic components of the electric machine, wherein a central opening is provided for the bearing tube in the housing accommodation region, as a result of which the circuit board layout is limited, in particular not optimized for EMV requirements.
In summary, in the solutions known in the prior art, at least one of the following factors is disadvantageous: mounting space, number of components, electronics cooling concept, EMV design of circuit boards, assembly and/or connection and connection options.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention is therefore based on the object of cumulatively optimizing the above-mentioned features and of providing a fan for integrating an electric machine and electric machine electronics in a fan housing which has a low axial space requirement and can be produced at low cost.
The object is achieved according to the invention by the features of claim 1.
The basic idea of the invention relates to a specific design of an integrated fan housing with an integrated receiving space for the motor electronics or the circuit board of the motor electronics.
According to the invention, a fan housing of an axial fan is proposed for receiving an electric motor and motor electronics, wherein the fan housing has a substantially cylindrical housing wall extending in an axial direction, the housing wall having a first end face and a second end face, wherein a motor flange for receiving the electric motor is formed in the axial center, wherein the motor flange forms a hollow-cylindrical bearing tube which is open on one side and is used for mounting a rotor shaft of a rotor, wherein the bearing tube is closed at its bearing tube end in the region of the motor flange, and the motor flange forms a receiving space for receiving the motor electronics, which is located completely within and within the cylindrical housing wall and is arranged between the bearing tube end and the first end face (or a plane spanned by the first end face).
According to a further advantageous development of the invention, it is provided that the motor flange forms a ring section and that a plurality of connecting ribs each extending in the radial direction integrally connect the ring section to the housing wall.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention it is further provided that the bearing tube is integrally connected to the ring section by a plurality of connecting ribs extending in the radial direction. The ribs are preferably arranged in a star shape.
In an embodiment, it is provided that the connecting ribs and/or the connecting ribs with the ring sections open out or are arranged in a common region, viewed in the axial direction. Between this plane and the plane spanned by the first end face, an accommodation space for the electrical and electronic components of the machine is advantageously provided.
In a particularly compact embodiment, it is provided that the housing wall forms, on its first end face, an annular rim having at least four portions each having a straight edge course, two of the four portions each being diametrically opposed with respect to the center and extending parallel to one another. In this way, a substantially rectangular or square circumscribed outline is obtained.
It is also advantageous if four cylindrical fastening sleeves are formed on the housing wall, each fastening sleeve being connected integrally to the housing wall by a web section extending in the radial direction and being arranged in the position of the four corners of an imaginary square or rectangle.
Another aspect of the invention relates to a fan with a fan housing as described above, wherein the motor flange forms a cover receiving contour for receiving a motor flange cover, wherein motor electronics including a circuit board are integrated in a receiving space, and wherein the receiving space is closed by the motor flange cover which is preferably detachable and inserted into the cover receiving contour.
In an alternative embodiment, it is provided that the electrical machine electronics comprising the circuit board are integrated in the receiving space, and that the receiving space is filled with a potting material which preferably surrounds the circuit board on all sides.
In this way a particularly sealed solution is obtained which is not affected by the environment.
Advantageously, the circuit board is designed without a central opening in the region of the bearing tube (as is known from the prior art). This is possible in accordance with the inventive concept. Thus, for example, the size of the circuit board can be selected to make the most of the accommodation space.
In an equally advantageous embodiment of the invention, it is provided that the electric motor, which comprises a stator with stator coils and a rotor, is arranged on a motor flange in the fan housing, wherein the rotor is mounted on a rotor shaft inserted into the bearing tube, and the connection terminals of the stator coils are arranged such that they extend from the coils (thus on the stator side) to the circuit board and from there at least partially through the circuit board and at least partially protrude from the opposite side of the circuit board.
In a particularly advantageous manner, the circuit board contacts are arranged on a side of the circuit board facing away from the stator. It is also advantageous if the connection nipple extends completely within the potting material at least in its part extending within the receiving space.
Drawings
Further advantageous developments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims or are shown in more detail below together with the description of preferred embodiments of the invention with reference to the drawings.
It shows that:

Detailed Description
The present invention is explained in more detail below with reference to fig. 1 to 5, in which like reference numerals indicate like structural and/or functional features.
Fig. 1 shows a perspective view of the various assembled components of the fan ( fixing elements 40, 44, spring 41, ball bearing 42, spacer sleeve 43) in an unassembled state. The fan housing 1 of the axial fan can be seen. The fan housing 1 is designed to accommodate a stator 2a having stator coils and a rotor 2b around the motor 2.
The fan housing 1 has a substantially cylindrical housing wall 10 extending in the axial direction a. The housing wall has a first end face S1 and a second end face S2. The motor flange 11 is located at the axial center of the fan housing 1. The motor flange 11 is designed to receive the stator 2a and the rotor 2b at one end face, wherein the motor flange 11 has a hollow cylindrical bearing tube 12 which is open on one side for receiving a rotor shaft 14 (shown in a sectional view in the figure).
It can also be seen in fig. 5 that the bearing tube 12 is closed at its lower bearing tube end 12u in the region of the motor flange 11. The motor flange 11 also has a receiving space 15 for receiving the motor electronics 3. As is clear from the sectional view, said accommodation space 15 is located completely inside the cylindrical housing wall 10, arranged between the bearing tube end 12 (at the transition of the closed end 12u of the bearing tube) and the first end face S1. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the motor electronics 3 are arranged on a circuit board which is located below the closed end 12u of the bearing tube 12 in the receiving space 15. A potting material 27 is introduced into the receiving space 15 around the circuit board (in the non-potted state as shown), so that the circuit board is completely protected from the environment and is integrated into the fan housing 1 in a space-saving manner.
The motor flange 11 forms a ring portion 20 and a plurality of connecting ribs 17 extending in the radial direction R, respectively, which integrally connect the ring portion 20 to the housing wall 10. The connecting ribs 17 extend in a star shape from the outer wall of the ring portion 20 to the inner wall of the housing wall 10. The connecting rib 17 and the loop portion 20 open out a common area E1.
Further, the bearing tube 12 is integrally connected to the ring portion 20 by a plurality of connecting ribs 18 extending in the radial direction R. Under the connecting ribs.
In the sectional view of fig. 5, a connection terminal 28 of the stator coil W is also provided, which extends on the stator side toward the circuit board 3a and from there at least partially penetrates the circuit board 3a and projects with its end face portion from the circuit board 3a on the opposite side of the circuit board 3 a. The circuit board contacts occur here on the side of the circuit board 3a facing away from the stator 2a, for which purpose the connection terminals 28 extend completely within the potting compound 27 in the receiving space 15, at least with their connection and contact sections.
As can be seen, for example, in fig. 1 and 2, the housing wall 10 has, on its first end face S1, a circumferential rim 22 with four portions 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d each having a straight edge course. The straight edge sections 22a, 22b, 22c, 22d are each connected to one another by a curved section, two of the four sections 22a, 22c or 22b, 22d respectively being diametrically opposed with respect to the center and extending parallel to one another. Four cylindrical fastening sleeves 30 are also designed on the housing wall 10, each fastening sleeve 30 being integrally connected to the housing wall 10 by a radially extending web section 31. The fastening sleeves 30 extend substantially in the axial direction over the entire height of the fan housing 1 and are located at the four corners of an imaginary square, thus in or immediately adjacent to the intersection points of the respective tangents along the edge portions 22a, 22b, 22c, 22 d.
The motor flange 11 also has a cover receiving contour 29 for receiving a motor flange cover, not shown in detail, which closes or covers the circuit board 3a toward the outside. The motor flange cover may be used as an alternative or in addition to potting material 27.
For the external connection of the electric machine 3, a cable duct 37 with a connecting cable 38 is also provided, wherein the cable duct is integrated or arranged in the connecting strut 17 or on the connecting strut 17.
