Description

Sewing needle holding device
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a sewing needle holding device (sewing needle holding device) for holding a sewing needle.
Background
For example, in some cases, a sewn object such as a skin material used as an interior material of a vehicle is sewn to form a stitch (stich) in order to improve its appearance. A sewing needle holding device for holding a sewing needle is attached to a sewing device for performing such sewing. However, in sewing, a force for pulling the sewing needle in a direction to be detached from the sewing needle holding device may be applied to the sewing needle due to friction between a sewing object and the sewing needle, or the like. Therefore, in order to suppress the falling of the sewing needle at the time of sewing, for example, a needle fixing mechanism shown in japanese patent laid-open publication No. 2007-131975 can be adopted as the sewing needle holding device.
Specifically, the proximal end portion of the sewing needle is formed into a head portion having a larger diameter than the other portions by fitting a collar, press forming, or the like. In addition, a through hole having a smaller diameter than the head is provided in a holder (holder) for holding the sewing needle. Then, the sewing needle is fixed to the holder in a state where a portion of the sewing needle on the tip end side of the head portion is inserted into the insertion hole. In this case, even if a force that pulls the sewing needle in a direction in which the sewing needle is detached from the holder is applied to the sewing needle, the head portion abuts against the wall portion of the peripheral edge of the through hole of the holder because the diameter of the through hole is smaller than the head portion as described above, and thus the detachment of the sewing needle from the holder can be suppressed.
Disclosure of Invention
In the needle fixing mechanism, a head portion needs to be formed at the proximal end portion of the sewing needle. That is, it is difficult to directly use a general sewing needle which is mass-produced and distributed in the market. Therefore, the process of holding the sewing needle in the sewing needle holding device may become complicated or the cost may increase.
The invention provides a sewing needle holding device which can easily and inexpensively prevent a sewing needle from falling off.
One aspect of the present invention is a sewing needle holding device for holding a sewing needle, wherein a tip end side in an extending direction of the sewing needle is provided with a small diameter portion, a base end side of the sewing needle is provided with a large diameter portion having a larger diameter than the small diameter portion, and an outer diameter changing portion is provided between the small diameter portion and the large diameter portion, the sewing needle holding device having a holder for holding the base end side of the sewing needle and a presser foot member; the presser foot member is attached to the holder, the holder having at least the outer diameter changing portion and the small diameter portion of the sewing needle protruding from a holder distal end surface of the holder, the presser foot member having an opposing portion opposing the holder distal end surface, a through hole into which the small diameter portion is insertable being provided in the opposing portion, and a pressure receiving surface abutting against the outer diameter changing portion being provided at least in part of the through hole.
A typical sewing needle which is mass-produced and distributed on the market is provided with a small diameter portion, an outer diameter changing portion, and a large diameter portion in this order from the distal end side to the base end side. The base end side of such a sewing needle is held by a holder. Further, a through hole through which a small diameter portion of the sewing needle can be inserted is provided in the presser foot member attached to the holder, and a pressure receiving surface that abuts against the outer diameter changing portion of the sewing needle is provided in at least a part of the through hole.
Therefore, even if a force pulling the sewing needle in a direction of falling off from the holder and the presser foot member is applied to the sewing needle at the time of sewing, the force can be received by the pressure receiving surface of the presser foot member through the outer diameter changing portion of the sewing needle. Accordingly, the sewing needle can be prevented from falling off from the holder and the presser foot member.
That is, according to the present invention, the outer diameter changing portion of a general sewing needle can be used without providing a head portion or the like at the base end portion of the sewing needle, in other words, the general sewing needle can be used as it is, and therefore, the dropping of the sewing needle can be suppressed easily and at low cost.

Detailed Description
The sewing needle holding device according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings while exemplifying preferred embodiments. In the following drawings, the same reference numerals are given to constituent elements that perform the same or similar functions and effects, and redundant description may be omitted.
As shown in fig. 1, a sewing needle holding device 10 according to the present embodiment is used by being attached to a sewing device 12. In fig. 1, the components of the sewing device 12 other than the needle bar 30 and the base 32 described later are not shown. Although not shown, in some cases, in an interior part of an automobile, for example, a surface of a base material made of a hard synthetic resin such as polypropylene is covered with a soft skin material, and a grain pattern or a stitch pattern is applied to the surface of the skin material to improve the appearance. As a preferable example of the sewing device 12 to which the sewing needle holding device 10 is attached, there is a sewing device which forms the stitch pattern by performing single-thread chain sewing or the like on a single surface material or a surface material integrated with a base material as a sewing object (not shown). However, the present invention is not limited to this, and the sewing needle holding device 10 can be applied to various sewing devices that perform sewing using the sewing needle 14.
As shown in fig. 2 and 3A, the needle holder 10 can hold a general sewing needle 14 which is mass-produced and distributed in the market. In this type of sewing needle 14, a small diameter portion 16 is provided on the distal end side in the extending direction, a large diameter portion 18 having a larger diameter than the small diameter portion 16 is provided on the proximal end side, a tapered portion 20 as an outer diameter changing portion 20a is provided between the small diameter portion 16 and the large diameter portion 18, and the diameter of the tapered portion 20 is enlarged from the small diameter portion 16 toward the large diameter portion 18. In addition, a needle hole 22 for inserting a suture is provided in the small diameter portion 16 of the sewing needle 14.
In the present embodiment, an example in which the needle holder 10 holds 2 needles 14 arranged at predetermined intervals has been described, but the present invention is not particularly limited thereto. The number of the sewing needles 14 held by the sewing needle holding device 10 may be 1, or 3 or more.
The sewing needle holding device 10 has a holder 24, a presser foot member 26, and a pressing mechanism 28. As shown in fig. 1, the retainer 24 is detachably attached to a needle bar 30 of the sewing device 12, and moves up and down together with the needle bar 30 between the needle bar 30 and a base 32 facing the needle bar 30 under the drive of the sewing device 12. Since the mounting mechanism of the holder 24 and the needle bar 30 has a known structure, detailed description and illustration thereof will be omitted. The retainer 24 holds the base end side of the sewing needle 14 so that the extending direction of the sewing needle 14 is along the raising and lowering direction of the needle bar 30.
Next, the needle holder 10 will be described with reference to the extending direction (arrow X direction) of the needle 14 held by the needle holder 10, taking the tip end side of the needle 14 as the tip end side (arrow X1 side) and the base end side of the needle 14 as the base end side (arrow X2 side). In addition, the arrangement direction (arrow Y direction) of the 2 sewing needles 14 held by the needle holding device 10 will be described as the direction orthogonal to the extending direction.
As shown in fig. 2, the holder 24 is provided with a bottomed insertion hole 36 and a screw hole 38, wherein the insertion hole 36 extends a predetermined length from a holder distal end surface 34 provided on a distal end side of the holder 24 toward a proximal end side; the threaded hole 38 extends in a direction intersecting the insertion hole 36, communicating the outside of the holder 24 and the insertion hole 36.
The proximal end side of the sewing needle 14, for example, the large diameter portion 18 is inserted into the middle of the insertion hole 36. At this time, the base end surface 40 of the sewing needle 14 inserted into the insertion hole 36 preferably abuts against the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36. In a state where the large diameter portion 18 is inserted into the insertion hole 36 as described above, the fixing screw 44 is screwed into the screw hole 38, whereby the large diameter portion 18 of the sewing needle 14 is sandwiched between the fixing screw 44 and the inner wall surface of the insertion hole 36. Accordingly, the base end side of the sewing needle 14 is held by the holder 24, and a part of the tip end side of the large diameter portion 18 of the sewing needle 14, the tapered portion 20, and the small diameter portion 16 protrude from the holder tip end surface 34.
The holder 24 may hold the sewing needle 14 so that at least the tapered portion 20 and the small diameter portion 16 (the tip side from the tapered portion 20) of the sewing needle 14 protrude from the holder tip end surface 34. The large diameter portion 18 of the sewing needle 14 may be cylindrical, or a notch (not shown) may be provided so that a portion of the sewing needle 14 that abuts against the fixing screw 44 is a flat surface.
The presser foot member 26 is attached to the holder 24 by a pressing mechanism 28. Specifically, the presser foot member 26 has an opposing portion 46 and a pair of side portions 48, wherein the opposing portion 46 faces the holder distal end surface 34; the pair of side portions 48 extends from both ends in the orthogonal direction (arrow Y direction) of the facing portion 46 along the sides of both ends in the orthogonal direction of the retainer 24. Further, for example, the following may be configured: the distance between the surfaces 48a of the pair of side portions 48 facing each other in the orthogonal direction is slightly smaller than the length of both ends of the retainer 24 in the orthogonal direction, and the retainer 24 is interposed between the side portions 48, whereby the retainer 24 and the leg pressing member 26 can be engaged with each other.
The facing portion 46 is provided with a through hole 50 through which the small diameter portion 16 can be inserted in the extending direction, and at least a part of the through hole 50 is provided with a tapered pressure receiving surface 52 which abuts against the tapered portion 20. That is, the diameter of at least a part of the insertion hole 50 is increased from the distal end side (arrow X1 side) to the proximal end side (arrow X2 side). In addition, the minimum diameter of the through hole 50 is smaller than the outer diameter of the large diameter portion 18 of the sewing needle 14. As shown in fig. 2, the pressure receiving surface 52 may be provided so as to taper through the entire insertion hole 50.
Each side portion 48 is provided with a through hole 54 penetrating the side portion 48 in the extending direction. The through hole 54 has a small diameter portion 54a and a large diameter portion 54b having a larger diameter than the small diameter portion 54 a. The small diameter portion 54a is provided on the tip end side of the side portion 48. The large diameter portion 54b is provided on the base end side of the side portion 48. The through hole 54 may not have the small diameter portion 54a and the large diameter portion 54b and may have the same diameter in the extending direction.
The pressing mechanism 28 applies a pressing force (hereinafter, also simply referred to as a pressing force) to the holder 24 and the leg member 26 in a direction in which the holder distal end surface 34 and the facing portion 46 approach each other. Specifically, the pressurizing mechanism 28 has a male screw member 56 and a female screw member 58. The male screw member 56 has a male screw shaft portion 60 and a male screw head portion 62, wherein the male screw shaft portion 60 is inserted into the small diameter portion 54a of the through hole 54 from the tip end side of the side portion 48; the male threaded head portion 62 is provided integrally with the male threaded shaft portion 60. The female screw member 58 has a hollow female screw shaft portion 64 and a female screw head portion 66, wherein the female screw shaft portion 64 is inserted through the large diameter portion 54b of the through hole 54 from the base end side of the side portion 48 and has a female screw formed therein to be screwed with the male screw shaft portion 60; the internally threaded head portion 66 is provided integrally with the internally threaded shaft portion 64.
The male screw shaft portion 60 is screwed into the female screw shaft portion 64 inside the through hole 54. Accordingly, when the male screw head 62 and the female screw head 66 approach each other, the male screw head 62 abuts against the distal end surface of the opposing portion 46, and the female screw head 66 abuts against a holder base end surface 68 provided on the base end side of the holder 24. Therefore, by bringing the male screw head 62 close to the female screw head 66 as described above, the pressing force can be applied to the retainer 24 and the presser foot member 26 between the male screw head 62 and the female screw head 66.
Next, an example of a process of holding the sewing needle 14 by the sewing needle holding device 10 will be described. The step of holding the sewing needle 14 on the sewing needle holding device 10 may be performed in a state where the retainer 24 is not attached to the needle bar 30 (see fig. 1) of the sewing device 12, or may be performed in a state where the retainer 24 is attached to the needle bar 30 of the sewing device 12.
First, as shown in fig. 3A and 3B, after the base end side of the sewing needle 14 is inserted into the insertion hole 36 of the holder 24, the base end side of the sewing needle 14 is fixed to the holder 24 by screwing the fixing screw 44 into the screw hole 38. At this time, the needle hole 22 of the needle 14 is adjusted to have a predetermined orientation with respect to the sewing device 12 (see fig. 1), and the base end surface 40 of the needle 14 is brought into contact with the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36. In addition, the entirety of the set screw 44 is inserted into the screw hole 38.
Next, as shown in fig. 4, the opposing portion 46 of the presser foot member 26 is brought close to the holder distal end surface 34. At this time, the sewing needle 14 protruding from the holder distal end surface 34 is inserted into the insertion hole 50 of the facing portion 46 from the distal end side thereof, and the holder 24 is interposed between the side portions 48 of the presser foot member 26. Accordingly, the pressure receiving surface 52 of the through hole 50 is brought into contact with the tapered portion 20 of the sewing needle 14.
Next, as shown in fig. 2, the male screw shaft portion 60 of the male screw member 56 is inserted into the small diameter portion 54a of the through hole 54 from the tip end side of the side portion 48, and the female screw shaft portion 64 of the female screw member 58 is inserted into the large diameter portion 54b of the through hole 54 from the base end side of the side portion 48. The male screw shaft 60 is screwed into the female screw shaft 64, and the distance between the male screw head 62 and the female screw head 66 is adjusted to a magnitude that can apply an appropriate pressing force to the retainer 24 and the presser foot member 26.
Accordingly, the sewing needle 14 is held by the sewing needle holding device 10 in a state where the base end side of the sewing needle 14 from the tapered portion 20 is sandwiched between the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36 of the holder 24 and the pressure receiving surface 52 of the presser foot member 26. Although not shown, the needle bar 30 is driven by the sewing device 12 (see fig. 1) to which the needle holder 10 is attached to perform sewing, whereby, for example, a double stitch (double stick) can be formed on a sewing object using 2 needles 14. At this time, particularly in the case of a sewing object having high rigidity or the like such as the skin material integrated with the base material, a force pulling the sewing needle 14 in a direction to come off the holder 24 is easily applied to the sewing needle 14 due to friction or the like generated between the sewing object and the sewing needle 14.
Even in this case, since the above-described force applied to the sewing needle 14 can be received by the pressure receiving surface 52 of the presser foot member 26 via the tapered portion 20, the sewing needle 14 can be suppressed from falling off from the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26.
Thus, according to the needle holding device 10 of the present embodiment, for example, the outer diameter changing portion 20a of the general needle 14 can be used without providing a large-diameter head portion or the like at the base end portion of the needle 14, in other words, the general needle 14 can be used as it is, and therefore, the needle 14 can be prevented from dropping easily and at low cost.
In the needle holder 10 according to the above-described embodiment, the outer diameter varying portion 20a is a tapered portion 20 having a diameter that increases from the small diameter portion 16 toward the large diameter portion 18. However, the shape of the outer diameter-changing portion 20a is not limited to the above-described taper shape, as long as it has a portion whose base end side in the extending direction is larger than the tip end side, for example. The shape of the pressure receiving surface 52 is not limited to the above-described tapered shape, and may be any shape as long as it can abut against the outside diameter changing portion 20a and receive the above-described force acting on the sewing needle 14.
The sewing needle holding device 10 according to the above embodiment includes the pressing mechanism 28, and the pressing mechanism 28 applies a pressing force to the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26 in a direction in which the holder distal end surface 34 and the opposed portion 46 approach each other. In this case, since the proximal end side of the sewing needle 14 from the tapered portion 20 can be held between the holder 24 and the pressure receiving surface 52, the sewing needle 14 can be held more favorably by the sewing needle holding device 10. Thereby effectively preventing the sewing needle 14 from falling off the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26.
In the sewing needle holding device 10 according to the above embodiment, the presser foot member 26 has the side portion 48 extending along the side of the holder 24, the through hole 54 penetrating the side portion 48 along the extending direction of the sewing needle 14 is provided in the side portion 48, the pressing mechanism 28 has the male screw member 56 and the female screw member 58, the male screw member 56 has the male screw shaft portion 60 and the male screw head portion 62, and the male screw shaft portion 60 is inserted into the through hole 54 from the tip end side of the side portion 48; the male screw head portion 62 is provided integrally with the male screw shaft portion 60, and the female screw member 58 has a hollow female screw shaft portion 64 and a female screw head portion 66, wherein the female screw shaft portion 64 is inserted through the through hole 54 from the base end side of the side portion 48 and has a female screw formed therein to be screwed to the male screw shaft portion 60; the female screw head portion 66 is provided integrally with the female screw shaft portion 64, and by screwing the male screw shaft portion 60 into the female screw shaft portion 64 inside the through hole 54, a pressing force is applied to the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26 between the male screw head portion 62 and the female screw head portion 66 which are close to each other.
In this case, the pressing force can be applied to the retainer 24 and the presser foot member 26 by a simple structure in which the male screw member 56 and the female screw member 58 are provided in the through hole 54 of the side portion 48. Further, by adjusting the amount of screwing of the male screw member 56 and the female screw member 58, the distance between the opposing portion 46 and the holder distal end surface 34 can be adjusted. Accordingly, the pressing force of the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26 can be applied in an appropriate magnitude in accordance with the size of the sewing needle 14 to be used (for example, the length in the extending direction of the large diameter portion 18), and the versatility of the sewing needle holding device 10 can be improved.
In the needle holder 10 according to the above-described embodiment, the side portions 48 include a pair of side portions facing each other with the holder 24 interposed therebetween in the orthogonal direction orthogonal to the extending direction of the needle 14. In this case, since the male screw member 56 and the female screw member 58 can be provided to the through hole 54 of the side portion 48 provided on both sides of the sewing needle 14 in the orthogonal direction, the pressing force can be applied to the holder 24 and the presser foot member 26 more favorably.
In the above embodiment, the leg pressing member 26 has the side portion 48, but is not particularly limited thereto. For example, as in the sewing needle holding device 70 according to the modification shown in fig. 5, a presser foot member 72 having no side portion 48 (see fig. 2) may be provided instead of the presser foot member 26 (see fig. 2). In this case, the needle holder 70 may have a holder 74 having a length in the orthogonal direction (arrow Y direction) larger than that of the holder 24, instead of the holder 24 (see fig. 2). Further, it is also possible to provide a communication hole 75 on the retainer 74 outside the orthogonal direction of the threaded hole 38 by an amount corresponding to the increase in the length in the orthogonal direction, the communication hole 75 for communicating with the threaded hole 38 from the outside of the retainer 74.
Specifically, the leg pressing member 72 is constituted only by the facing portion 46 facing the holder distal end surface 34, and through holes 76 are formed in the extending direction on both end sides in the orthogonal direction of the facing portion 46. Screw holes 78 are provided on both ends of the holder 74 in the orthogonal direction at positions that overlap the through holes 76 of the facing portion 46 coaxially when the facing portion 46 is made to face the holder distal end surface 34. A bolt 80 as the pressing mechanism 28 is screwed into the through hole 76 and the screw hole 78 which are coaxially overlapped, whereby the presser foot member 72 is mounted to the holder 74.
Therefore, when the sewing needle 14 is held by the sewing needle holding device 70, first, the base end side of the sewing needle 14 is held by the holder 74, similarly to the holder 24 (see fig. 2) of the sewing needle holding device 10. Next, the sewing needle 14 protruding from the holder 74 is inserted into the insertion hole 50 of the facing portion 46, and the facing portion 46 is brought into proximity with the holder distal end surface 34, so that the pressure receiving surface 52 of the insertion hole 50 is brought into contact with the tapered portion 20 of the sewing needle 14.
Next, the opposed portion 46 is opposed to the holder distal end surface 34 as described above, and the bolt 80 is screwed into the screw hole 78 and the through hole 76 which are coaxially overlapped with each other. Accordingly, the sewing needle 14 is held by the sewing needle holding device 70 in a state where the base end side of the sewing needle 14 from the tapered portion 20 is sandwiched between the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36 of the holder 74 and the pressure receiving surface 52 of the presser foot member 72. In the sewing needle holding device 70, the components such as the presser foot member 72 can be simplified.
In the sewing needle holding device 10, 70 according to the above embodiment, the holder 24, 74 is provided with the bottomed insertion hole 36 and the screw hole 38, and the base end side of the sewing needle 14 is sandwiched between the fixing screw 44 screwed into the screw hole 38 and the inner wall surface of the insertion hole 36, the insertion hole 36 being used for inserting the base end side of the sewing needle 14; the threaded hole 38 extends in a direction intersecting the insertion hole 36 and communicates the outside of the retainer 24, 72 with the insertion hole 36. In this case, since the sewing needle 14 is held between the fixing screw 44 and the inner wall surface of the insertion hole 36, the sewing needle 14 can be effectively inhibited from rotating inside the insertion hole 36.
In the sewing needle holding devices 10 and 70 according to the above embodiments, the base end surface 40 of the sewing needle 14 held by the holders 24 and 74 abuts against the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36. In this case, the movement of the sewing needle 14 held by the holder 24, 74 toward the base end side in the extending direction can be avoided, and therefore the sewing needle 14 can be held more favorably. Further, when the pressing mechanism 28 applies the pressing force to the holders 24, 74 and the presser foot members 26, 72, the base end side of the sewing needle 14 from the tapered portion 20 can be favorably held between the inner bottom surface 42 of the insertion hole 36 and the pressure receiving surface 52, and the sewing needle 14 can be more effectively prevented from falling off from the holders 24, 74 and the presser foot members 26, 72.
The present invention is not particularly limited to the above-described embodiments, and various modifications can be made without departing from the scope of the invention.
