Description

Telescopic sliding guide with drawer inclination and horizontal position adjustment
The present invention relates to a height adjustment system for a sliding drawer or shelf. In particular, the present invention relates to an improved telescopic guide for drawers or shelves, of the type comprising means for adjusting the height position of the drawer with respect to both the seating of the drawer and other drawers or shelves.
It is known to equip furniture items or cabinets with drawers or shelves that in some modes slide horizontally and are removable. The drawer or shelf may have integral guides, such as classic slots on the side, or the drawer or shelf is mounted on two linear guides fixed to the wall of the article of furniture. The drawer or shelf is constrained to the guides to prevent it from disengaging in the vertical direction or from accidentally disengaging.
The guide is typically a precision device that allows fine adjustment of the position of the drawer.
In EP1621107 the drawer can thus be moved laterally in order to allow adjustment of the horizontal height of the drawer and the exact spacing from other drawers and from the sides of the furniture item. For height adjustment, a rotary disc 31 is provided, the rotary disc 31 having a flat surface to support the drawer. With the operation lever 33, the tray 31 can be rotated clockwise or counterclockwise to raise or lower the tray 31, thereby adjusting the height of the drawer in the vertical direction. The lever is inconvenient to use because it terminates just below the drawer and is included in a cumbersome mechanism. EP1621107 does not have an adjustment mechanism for the horizontal position of the drawer.
The main object of the present invention is to improve this state of the art, the invention being defined in the appended claims, wherein the dependent claims define advantageous variants.
Another object is to provide a guide of the above-mentioned type in which the vertical adjustment means for the drawer or shelf are simple to manufacture and easy to use during assembly.
Another object is to provide a guide of the above-mentioned type in which the size of the vertical adjustment means is limited.
Another object is to provide an improved assembly provided by a guide and an associated drawer or shelf of the above-mentioned type.
Another object is to provide an improved sliding drawer or shelf associated with a guide of the above-mentioned type.
There is provided a telescopic guide for linearly and horizontally moving a drawer or shelf relative to an item of furniture, the guide comprising:
a first part which can be fixed to a piece of furniture, and
a second part that:
is elongated along a longitudinal axis and is,
is translatable along said axis relative to the fixable element, an
Comprising a free end adapted to support a drawer or shelf, on which is mounted:
a first means for adjusting the inclination of the drawer or shelf relative to the first part, an
Second means for adjusting the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf with respect to the first part,
wherein the first means is arranged substantially along said axis.
The arrangement of the first means makes the guide lighter and more compact.
Preferably, the first adjustment means comprises an element movably mounted relative to said free end for movement along an axis perpendicular to said longitudinal axis and for abutment by the adjustable projection against the drawer or shelf to tilt the drawer or shelf.
The movably mounted element may for example be linearly movable or swingable relative to said free end.
In a variant, said element is mounted inside a through cavity of said free end so as to translate linearly in said cavity for projecting from said free end to abut against the bottom of a drawer or shelf.
More preferably, in order to facilitate the adjustment and to increase the precision and stability of the first adjustment means, the first adjustment means comprise an element rotatably mounted in said free end for projecting therefrom and abutting against the bottom of the drawer or shelf by means of an adjustable projection.
Even more preferably, said rotatably mounted element and said through cavity are screwed in a complementary manner, so that the element can be moved by screwing.
For ease of construction, the free end preferably constitutes a separate piece mounted on the second part.
In a variant, the first fixable part is an L-shaped bracket and the second part comprises a sleeve elongated along said longitudinal axis and mounted for sliding on an edge of the L-shaped bracket, said free end being a separate piece mounted at the end of the sleeve for constituting an extension of the sleeve.
Preferably, the second adjustment means comprise a slide horizontally translatable on a projecting edge of said free end, the slide comprising fastening means for the drawer or shelf, so as to make the slide and the drawer or shelf integral with each other. Alternatively, the second adjustment means may comprise a screw screwable into said free end for moving the drawer or shelf horizontally.
Preferably, the drawer or shelf is made up of sections connected together, in particular a front section and three sections C-connected to each other. For example, the segments are hollow tubular elements, each segment including an end having a 45 degree cut-out to mate with the ends of the other two of the segments.
Preferably, the three segments connected together like a C-shape are hollow tubular elements, each segment comprising an end with a 45 degree cut to match the ends of the other two segments, and the front segment comprises a rigid wall equipped with two anchoring members projecting orthogonally from the rigid wall and each insertable in a respective cavity of a different segment forming the C-shape.
The advantages of the present invention will become more apparent from the following description of a preferred example system with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
figure 1 shows a three-dimensional view of a sliding drawer inserted into an article of furniture;
figures 2 and 3 show three-dimensional views from below the drawer;
figure 4 shows a vertical cross-sectional view;
figure 5 shows a three-dimensional view of the components of the guide;
figure 6 shows a three-dimensional view of a sliding drawer inserted into an article of furniture and translatable on guides;
in the drawings, like numerals indicate like or conceptually similar parts, and elements are described as in use. Some reference numerals have been omitted in order not to make the drawings crowded and complicated.
Fig. 1 and 6 partially show a side wall 10 of an item of furniture or cabinet, inside which a sliding drawer or shelf 12 is mounted.
The sliding drawer or shelf 12 includes a frame having a front section 14, a bottom section 16 and two side sections 18. The sections 14, 16, 18 are tubular pieces, for example, including ends with 45 degree cutouts to fit each other, and are assembled to form a generally rectangular or square frame. The bottom of the sliding drawer or shelf 12 is not shown for simplicity.
The side sections 18 are mounted to two linear guides 20, respectively, the two guides 20 being identical in a specular reflection manner/mirror image and being fixed to the wall 10.
Each telescopic linear guide 20 comprises two parts 22, 24, the two parts 22, 24 being relatively linearly translatable. The part 22 is fixed and connectable to/connectable to the wall 10, while the part 24 is translatable along its longitudinal axis X with respect to the part 22 and connectable to one of the sections 18. Thus, the sliding drawer or shelf 12 can be forwardly removed from the cabinet.
Referring to fig. 2, 3 and 6, it can be seen that the sliding drawer or shelf 12 is mounted on the guide 20. The translatable part 24 comprises a metal sleeve. The metal sleeve can slide on the fixed part 22 and comprises at the end an arm 26, for example made of plastic, on which arm 26 the sliding drawer or shelf 12 rests.
The arm 26 is preferably formed of a tail 84 and a head 86. The tail 84 is configured to be inserted inside the central cavity of the aforementioned metal sleeve 30 by longitudinally interlocking (along the X axis) as an insert, while the head 86 protrudes from the sleeve 30 extending along the X axis and is placed close to the front section 14.
The head 86 on which the section 18 rests is equipped with a position adjustment mechanism for the drawer or shelf 12. The mechanism comprises adjustment means for the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12 relative to the fixed part 24 and adjustment means for the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf 12 relative to the fixed part 24.
The tilt adjustment means is located at the end of the arm 26 closest to the front section 14, i.e. on the head 86. The head 86 is provided with a vertical through hole 82, the vertical through hole 82 having a Z axis orthogonal to the X axis, the screw 80 being screwable in the vertical through hole 82 such that the tip of the screw 80 protrudes from the head 86 below the drawer or shelf 12. By screwing the screw 80 more or less into the threaded hole 82 (see fig. 4 and Z axis), the tip of the screw 80 may protrude more or less from the head 86 and lift more or less (see arrow F in fig. 4) the drawer or shelf 12 (or section 18). This allows the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12 to be adjusted.
It should be noted that the advantage of the arm 26 is that the adjustment means for the inclination of the drawer or shelf 12 is below the section 14, and therefore the adjustment means is not visible, even if for example the bottom of the drawer or shelf 12 is made of glass.
Note also that for compactness, the screw 80 is located substantially on the X axis, i.e., aligned with the length of the part 24. Furthermore, the guide is horizontally wider for ease of assembly.
An adjustment means for the horizontal position of the drawer or shelf 12 relative to the fixed part 24 is also arranged on the head 86.
A fin 88, which is horizontal in use, extends from the base of the head 86 (fig. 5). The tabs 88 have a length arranged parallel to the X-axis. A slider 90 (fig. 3) is slidably mounted on the tab 88 so as to be able to translate on the tab 88 parallel to the X axis (see direction W).
The slider 90 is slidable on the fin 88 due to, for example, rotation of the gear 92. Preferably, the slider 90 includes an anchoring element (not shown) for attachment to the drawer or shelf 12 to better pull the drawer or shelf 12. The section 18 is also seated on the slide 90 and is integral with the slide 90 such that displacement of the slide 90 causes fore and aft movement of the drawer or shelf 12.
Thus, initial adjustment of the drawer or shelf 12 along the X-axis and Z-axis during assembly is possible due to the adjustment on the horizontal arm 26.
Preferably, the guide 20 includes a rear stop element (not shown) to prevent the drawer or shelf 12 from disengaging.
