Description

Access and mobility management function entity selection method and access network equipment
Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to the field of communications technologies, and in particular, to a method for selecting an access and mobility management function entity, an access network device, a network function repository function entity, and a computer-readable storage medium.
Background
Currently, in a roaming Network, a Network fragment Selection Function (NSSF) of the roaming Network stores and manages a mapping relationship between an S-NSSAI of the roaming Network and a home Network of a user, and determines an allowed NSSAI that the user can obtain after registering in the roaming Network. This means that even if the user subscribes to a particular S-NSSAI in the home network and this S-NSSAI has a corresponding S-NSSAI in the roaming network into which it enters, there is no guarantee that the NSSF of the roaming network will allow the user to use this S-NSSAI. Moreover, even if the NSSF of the roaming Network allows the user to use the S-NSSAI, when the user enters the roaming Network and performs the initial registration procedure, the AMF (Access and Mobility Management Function entity) selected by the RAN (Radio Access Network) does not necessarily support the S-NSSAI, which triggers the AMF reselection procedure, that is, the current AMF selects another AMF to provide the service for the UE.

Detailed Description
To make the objects, technical solutions and advantages of the embodiments of the present disclosure more apparent, the following detailed description of the embodiments of the present disclosure is provided with reference to the accompanying drawings. It should be understood that the detailed description and specific examples, while indicating the present disclosure, are given by way of illustration and explanation only, not limitation.
It should be noted that the terms "first," "second," and the like in the description and claims of the present disclosure and in the above-described drawings are used for distinguishing between similar elements and not necessarily for describing a particular sequential or chronological order; also, the embodiments and features of the embodiments in the present disclosure may be arbitrarily combined with each other without conflict.
In the following description, suffixes such as "module", "component", or "unit" used to indicate elements are used only for facilitating the explanation of the present disclosure, and have no particular meaning in themselves. Thus, "module", "component" or "unit" may be used mixedly.
5G (5th-Generation, fifth Generation communication technology) network slicing is one of the key technologies of 5G, and 5G network slicing supports more services by cutting a 5G network into multiple virtual networks. Currently, access of a network slice is identified by NSSAI (network slice selection assistance information). Each NSSAI includes a plurality of S-NSSAIs (single network slice selection assistance information), which may be regarded as a set of S-NSSAIs. The S-NSSAI can be a standard value or a non-standard value, each S-NSSAI corresponds to a specific network slice example, and the non-standard S-NSSAI reflects the personalized requirements of the user.
In the prior art, on the one hand: when the 5G user registers to the network, the RAN selects the AMF for the user UE according to the information carried in the user registration request. Since the GUAMI (Globally Unique AMF Identifier) is allocated to the UE by the AMF, when a user first initiates a registration request after entering a roaming network, the registration request does not carry 5G-S-TMSI (5G short-temporal Mobile Subscription Identifier, 5G-GUTI abbreviated form) nor GUAMI. The RAN will use the request NSSAI carried in the registration request at this time as a basis for selecting the AMF for the registration request of the UE; on the other hand: the existing 5G specification states that if a non-standard S-NSSAI value is not applicable to the current PLMN (Public Land Mobile Network), the UE should not use this non-standard S-NSSAI value at the access stratum. Although registering with a PLMN, the configured nsai applicable to the current PLMN may be obtained from the AMF during the registration process, which may include the S-nsai applicable to the current PLMN. But for a UE that first (never before) enters a certain roaming PLMN, the registration request will not have a non-standard S-NSSAI applicable to the roaming PLMN when it is first initiated. Thus, in the above case, the UE can only carry the standard S-NSSAI.
In practical applications, in roaming scenarios, for example, users who are first out of country, especially users who are taking planes as vehicles, are the same, and each user has a personalized demand. The selection of the current RAN to the AMF according to the standard S-NSSAI is basically consistent, and does not reflect the personalized requirements of different users. It is therefore desirable to provide a solution for fast access to a roaming network for non-standard S-NSSAI without performing the AMF reselection procedure.
In order to solve the above technical problem, an Access and mobility management function entity selection method provided in an embodiment of the present disclosure is applied to an Access Network device (Radio Access Network, RAN for short), RAN-V for short, in which this embodiment configures an AMF set in advance for a user terminal, assigns an AMF to the user terminal when the user terminal enters a roaming Network and initiates a registration request, and then provides a connection and mobility management service for the user terminal based on the assigned AMF, and does not need to perform an AMF reselection process for a non-standard S-NSSAI, thereby improving user terminal usage experience, as shown in fig. 1, the method includes step S101 and step S102.
In step S101, a set of access and mobility management functional entities pre-configured by the network function repository functional entity for the ue is obtained.
The Network Function Repository Function entity is a Network Redundancy Function (NRF) of the roaming area Network, and is hereinafter referred to as NRF-V.
In this embodiment, when the UE is in the home network, the UE initiates a request for reserving the AMF device of the roaming destination from the home network to the roaming destination network, and a network function repository function entity NRF-V of the roaming destination network pre-configures an AMF set for the user terminal, where a specific process of the NRF-V pre-configuring the AMF set for the user terminal is as follows:
when the UE is in the home Network, the user selects an application that is expected to preferentially acquire Network resources after entering the roaming area on the UE interface, and the UE identifies the single Network segment Selection auxiliary information having a value of S-NSSAI1 corresponding to the application according to a pre-stored URSP (UE Route Selection Policy), where the URSP includes an NSSP (Network segment Selection Policy). The UE first initiates a roaming area network AMF pre-selection request including S-NSSAI1 to UDM (Unified Data Management, Unified Data Management function network element). At this time, the UDM instructs a home Network NSSF-H (Network Slice Selection Function) to initiate a roaming configuration NSSAI reservation request, wherein the NSSAI reservation request comprises a UE Identifier (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI, Generic Public Subscription Identifier/International Mobile Subscription Identifier) and S-NSSAI1, and the NSSF-H further initiates a roaming configuration NSSAI reservation request to a roaming NSSF-V, and the reservation request carries the UE Identifier (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI) and S-NSSAI 1; NSSF-V allocates a configuration NSSAI for UE, the configuration NSSAI comprises auxiliary information for selecting single network segment with the value of S-NSSAI2, wherein S-NSSAI2 corresponds to S-NSSAI1 and meets the auxiliary information for selecting single network segment of the pre-agreed mapping relation between the UE home network and the roaming site network, and then the auxiliary information is returned to NSSF-H; NSSF-H further indicates home NRF-H to reserve AMF-V equipment of a roaming place, wherein UE identification and the configuration NSSAI are included; the NRF-H requests the NRF-V to subscribe to the roaming AMF device. Including the UE identity and the configuration NSSAI; the NRF-V selects an AMF set (which can be one or more AMFs) capable of serving the UE for the UE identification and the configured NSSAI according to the local policy, then (each AMF can be indicated or one of the AMFs can be selected) the AMF-V is indicated to send the AMF set information to the RAN-V, and the RAN-V acquires the AMF set which is pre-configured by the NRF-V for the user terminal.
In step S102, after the ue enters the roaming area network and initiates an initial registration request, a first specified access and mobility management functional entity is selected from the set of access and mobility management functional entities based on slice configuration information of the ue, so as to provide a connection and mobility management service for the ue.
The access and mobility management function entity set is configured in advance for the user terminal based on the terminal identification of the user terminal and the slice configuration information of the user terminal when the user terminal is in the home network and after a roaming network access and mobility management function entity pre-selection request is initiated to the home network, and the slice configuration information includes a mapping relation of single network slice selection auxiliary information of the user terminal between the home network and the roaming network. The slice configuration information of the user terminal, i.e. the configuration NSSAI of the user terminal, is that after an initial registration request enters a PLMN, the initial registration request is initiated to the PLMN for the first time, and the initial registration is a registration process initiated by the UE in a DEREGISTERED state (RM-DEREGISTERED).
Specifically, after the AMF set configuration is completed, RAN-V feeds back the execution result to AMF-V, AMF-V to NRF-V, NRF-V to NRF-H, NRF-H to NSSF-H, HSSF-H to UDM-H in turn, UDM-H instructs AMF-H currently serving UE to initiate UE configuration update procedure and send the configuration NSSAI from NSSF-V to UE after receiving NSSF-H feedback, and then AMF-H sends the configuration NSSAI from NSSF-V to UE according to the procedure defined in section 4.2.4 of 3GPP TS23.502 protocol. After the UE enters the roaming network, an initial registration request is initiated, which includes the configured NSSAI allocated by the NSSF-V and obtained in the above process. The RAN-V of the roaming place selects a designated AMF (namely, a first designated AMF) from the AMF set for the UE according to the received AMF set, the configuration NSSAI provided by the UE and the identity of the UE, and then the UE interacts with the allocated AMF to complete the initial registration process.
It should be noted that the suffix-V is the device in the roaming network, and the suffix-H is the device in the home network.
In the above process, after the user enters the roaming local network, the RAN selects the AMF meeting the user requirement for the user at one time, and there is no need to worry about that the RAN can only select the default AMF in the non-standard S-NSSAI roaming scenario in the prior art, or even if the selected AMF is not the default AMF but cannot provide service for the UE, the problem that AMF reselection needs to be performed is caused.
In one embodiment, the acquiring network function repository function entity is a set of access and mobility management function entities pre-configured for the ue (i.e. step S101), as shown in fig. 2A, specifically step S101 a.
In step S101a, receiving an access and mobility management function entity selection indication sent by a second specified access and mobility management entity, where the access and mobility management function entity selection indication carries the access and mobility management function entity set;
the second specified access and mobility management entity is randomly selected from the access and mobility management function entity set after the network function repository function entity pre-configures the access and mobility management function entity set for the user terminal.
Specifically, after the NRF-V selects the AMF set for the UE, one or more second specified AMFs are randomly selected from the AMF set, the one or more second specified AMFs send an AMF selection indication to the RAN-V, the AMF selection is completed when the RAN-V encounters the UE with the configured NSSAI and initiates an initial registration request for the first time for the UE identified by the UE, and the RAN-V further selects an AMF that can meet the UE registration requirement from the AMF set.
In one embodiment, the acquiring network function repository function entity is a set of access and mobility management function entities pre-configured for the ue (i.e. step S101), as shown in fig. 2B, and specifically step S101B.
In step S101b, receiving an access and mobility management function entity selection indication sent by a third specified access and mobility management entity, where the access and mobility management function entity selection indication carries the access and mobility management function entity set;
the third specified access and mobility management entity is selected from the access and mobility management functional entity set based on the roaming location information of the user terminal after the network function repository functional entity pre-configures the access and mobility management functional entity set for the user terminal.
In this embodiment, the third specified AMF that sends the AMF indication is selected based on the location information of the roaming location entered by the UE, where the location information of the roaming location of the UE may be provided by the UE (when the UE is in the home network, the UE selects an application that is expected to preferentially acquire network resources after entering the roaming location, identifies the corresponding single-network segment selection auxiliary information with the value of S-NSSAI1, and provides the location information of entering the roaming location network).
It should be noted that, assuming that the UE provides the location information intended to enter the roaming place, for example, a specific airport, the NRF-V may specify a specific AMF (responsible for the location range) to perform the above-mentioned step of instructing the RAN to select the AMF, so as to enable the subsequent operation to be effective within the range of the predetermined location. If the UE has not provided location information, each AMF in the set of AMFs may be designated or one or more AMFs may be randomly designated to perform the above steps to effect subsequent operations throughout the RAN. In some embodiments, if the RAN of the roaming network employs a centralized management mode, a specific AMF may be designated to perform the above steps regardless of whether the UE provides location information, and to achieve efficiency throughout the RAN.
In an embodiment, the acquiring network function repository function entity is a set of access and mobility management function entities configured in advance for the ue (i.e. step S101), as shown in fig. 2C, specifically step S101C.
In step S101c, receiving an access and mobility management function entity selection indication sent by each access and mobility management entity, respectively, where the access and mobility management function entity selection indication carries the access and mobility management function entity set;
wherein, the access and mobility management entities are respectively from the access and mobility management function entity set.
In the above procedure, i.e. after the NRF-V selects the set of AMFs capable of serving the UE, each AMF is separately instructed to send an AMF selection indication to the RAN.
Based on the same technical concept, another method for selecting an access and mobility management functional entity, which is correspondingly provided by the embodiment of the present disclosure, is applied to a network function repository functional entity, as shown in fig. 3, where the method includes step S301 and step S302.
In step S301, after a user terminal initiates a roaming-site network access and mobility management function entity pre-selection request to a home network, acquiring a terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal, where the slice configuration information includes a mapping relationship of single-network segment selection auxiliary information of the user terminal between the home network and the roaming-site network;
in step S302, an access and mobility management function entity set is preconfigured for the user terminal based on the terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal;
in step S303, a second designated access and mobility management function entity is randomly selected from the set of access and mobility management function entities, and the second designated access and mobility management function entity is caused to send an access and mobility management function entity selection indication to the access network device, wherein the access and mobility management function entity selection indication carries the set of access and mobility management function entities, and the access network equipment receives the selection indication of the access and mobility management functional entity, and after the user terminal enters the roaming area network and initiates an initial registration request, and selecting a first appointed access and mobility management functional entity from the access and mobility management functional entity set based on the slice configuration information of the user terminal to provide connection and mobility management services for the user terminal.
The NRF-V obtains UE identity and network slice selection assistance information, which is sent by NRF-H, specifically, by first selecting (on the interface) an application (e.g., Wechat) that wants to obtain network resources preferentially after the UE is expected to enter the roaming area when the UE is in the home network. The UE recognizes the single network segment selection assistance information with the corresponding value of S-NSSAI1 according to the pre-stored URSP (NSSP included in the URSP). Secondly, UE initiates a roaming area network AMF pre-selection request to UDM-H, wherein the request comprises S-NSSAI 1. And the UDM-H indicates the NSSF to initiate the roaming place to configure NSSAI reservation request, wherein the NSSF includes UE identification (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI) and S-NSSAI1, and the NSSF initiates the roaming place to configure NSSAI reservation request to the roaming place NSSF-V. Including the UE identity (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI) and S-NSSAI 1. NSSF-V allocates a configuration NSSAI for UE, the configuration NSSAI comprises auxiliary information for selecting single network segment with S-NSSAI2, wherein S-NSSAI2 is corresponding to S-NSSAI1 and meets the auxiliary information for selecting single network segment of the pre-agreed mapping relation between the UE home network and the roaming network. Sixthly, NSSF-H indicates NRF-H to reserve AMF equipment of a roaming place, wherein the equipment comprises UE identification and NSSAI in the fifth step. NRF-H requests NRF-V to subscribe to the roaming AMF device, including UE identity and configured NSSAI of (V).
It is understood that the network slice selection assistance information is the configuration NSSAI.
Based on the same technical concept, the embodiment of the present disclosure further provides a method for selecting an access and mobility management function entity correspondingly, which is applied to a network function repository function entity, as shown in fig. 4, and the method includes step S401 and step S402.
In step S401, after a user terminal initiates a roaming area network access and mobility management function entity pre-selection request to a home area network, acquiring a terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal, where the slice configuration information includes a mapping relationship of single-network segment selection auxiliary information of the user terminal between the home area network and the roaming area network;
in step S402, an access and mobility management function entity set is preconfigured for the user terminal based on the terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal;
in step S403, selecting a third specified access and mobility management function entity from the access and mobility management function entity set based on the roaming location information of the user terminal, causing the third specified access and mobility management function entity to send an access and mobility management function entity selection indication to an access network device, wherein the access and mobility management functional entity selection indication carries the set of access and mobility management functional entities, and the access network equipment receives the selection indication of the access and mobility management functional entity, and after the user terminal enters the roaming area network and initiates an initial registration request, and selecting a first appointed access and mobility management functional entity from the access and mobility management functional entity set based on the slice configuration information of the user terminal to provide connection and mobility management service for the user terminal.
Based on the same technical concept, the embodiment of the present disclosure correspondingly provides another method for selecting an access and mobility management functional entity, which is applied to a network function repository functional entity, as shown in fig. 5, and the method includes step S501.
In step S501, after a user terminal initiates a roaming-destination-network access and mobility-management-function entity pre-selection request to a home network, a terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal are obtained, where the slice configuration information includes a mapping relationship of single-network-segment selection auxiliary information of the user terminal between the home network and the roaming network; and the number of the first and second groups,
in step S502, an access and mobility management function entity set is pre-configured for the user terminal based on the terminal identifier and slice configuration information of the user terminal, so that each access and mobility management function entity in the access and mobility management function entity set sends an access and mobility management function entity selection indication to an access network device respectively, wherein the access and mobility management function entity selection indication carries the set of access and mobility management function entities, and the access network equipment receives the selection indication of the access and mobility management functional entity, and after the user terminal enters the roaming area network and initiates an initial registration request, and selecting a first appointed access and mobility management functional entity from the access and mobility management functional entity set based on the slice configuration information of the user terminal to provide connection and mobility management service for the user terminal.
For convenience of understanding, another embodiment of the present disclosure correspondingly provides a method for selecting an access and mobility management function entity, as shown in fig. 6, where the method includes steps S601-S614.
It should be noted that the UE in VPMLN and HPLMN in fig. 6 are the same UE. Wherein steps S601 to S611 are steps performed by the UE in the home network; s612 to S614 are steps performed when the UE is in the roaming network.
S601, when the UE is in the home network, the UE (user on the interface) selects an application (e.g. WeChat) that wants to preferentially acquire network resources after entering the roaming location. The UE recognizes the single network segment selection assistance information with the corresponding value of S-NSSAI1 according to the pre-stored URSP (NSSP included in the URSP).
In practical applications, the UE may also prompt the user to select MCC (Mobile Country Code) and MNC (Mobile Network Code). The MCC and MNC are not selected, indicating that subsequent operations are performed for all roaming sites. Selecting only MCC means performing the subsequent operation only in the country and region represented by MCC, and selecting both MCC and MNC means designating a specific roaming network to perform the subsequent operation.
And S602, the UE initiates a roaming area network AMF pre-selection request to the UDM, wherein the request comprises S-NSSAI 1.
And the request initiated by the UE to the UDM may also carry an expiration date, that is, the subsequent operation of the UDM is valid within a predetermined time range, and if the request initiated by the UE does not have the expiration date, the expiration date may be added by the UDM itself, so as to prevent unnecessary overhead caused by excessive useless configuration to the roaming area network. The roaming network may also specify an acceptable validity period in the response message. After the validity period is exceeded, the roaming area network is configured according to the request of the UE and is deleted.
S603, UDM instructs NSSF to initiate a roaming provisioning NSSAI subscription request including UE identity (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI) and S-NSSAI 1.
It is understood that the identity of the UE does not contain the user number, TMSI and SUCI.
S604, NSSF initiates NSSAI subscription request of roaming place to NSSF-V of roaming place. Including the UE identity (GPSI/SUPI/IMSI) and S-NSSAI 1.
S605 and NSSF-V allocate a configuration NSSAI for the UE, wherein the configuration NSSAI comprises auxiliary information for selecting the single network segment with the value of S-NSSAI2, and the S-NSSAI2 corresponds to the S-NSSAI1 and is the auxiliary information for selecting the single network segment which accords with the pre-agreed mapping relation between the UE home network and the roaming network.
It is understood that an NSSAI is a set of one or more S-NSSAIs.
S606, NSSF instructs the NRF to subscribe to the AMF device of the roaming destination, which includes UE identity and NSSAI configuration in S605.
S607, NRF requests NRF-V to reserve the AMF device of roaming destination. Including the UE identity and the configured NSSAI in S605.
S608, NRF-V selects a set of AMFs (i.e. one or more AMFs) that can be served for the UE identity and the configured NSSAI in S605 according to the local policy, and then instructs the AMFs (either to indicate each AMF or to select one of them, respectively) towards the RAN.
S609, when the selected AMF-V indicates the RAN to encounter the UE with the configured NSSAI in S605 and identified by the UE identity in S602 for the first time to initiate an initial registration request, selecting the AMF in the AMF set in S608 to provide the connection and mobility management service for the UE (UE in S601).
S610, (RAN-V feeds back the execution result to AMF-V, AMF-V to NRF-V, NRF-V to NRF-H, NRF-H to NSSF-H, HSSF-H to UDM-H in turn.) UDM indicates AMF currently providing service for UE to initiate UE configuration update process after receiving NSSF-H feedback, and sends configuration NSSAI from NSSF-V to UE.
S611, AMF-H sends the configuration NSSAI from NSSF-V to the UE according to the procedure defined in section 4.2.4 of 3GPP TS 23.502.
And S612, initiating an initial registration request after the UE enters the roaming network. Including the configuration NSSAI assigned thereto in S605 and obtained in S611.
S613, the roaming RAN selects an AMF from the AMF set in S608 for the UE to provide connection and mobility management service for the UE according to the configuration in S609, the configuration NSSAI provided by the UE, and the identity of the UE.
And S614, the UE interacts with the distributed AMF to complete the initial registration process.
