Description

Motor stall protection system and protection control method thereof
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a motor protection method, and more particularly, to a motor stall protection system and a protection control method thereof for preventing damage caused by reaction force and pulse surge.
Background
Generally, the motor achieves the effect of stopping rotation by stopping supplying driving force, but if the motor loses power instantaneously in the operation process, a reaction force is generated to impact a rotating component of the motor, even a fan blade structure driven by the motor is damaged, in addition, because the stopping causes a driving loop of the motor to cut off current instantaneously, a transient Surge (Surge) pulse is generated in a circuit system of the motor, the amplitude of the Surge is tens of hundreds times of the normal amplitude and is far higher than the voltage which can be born by a common electronic element, and a coil winding and the driving loop of the motor are damaged by the Surge impact.
Particularly, a motor for driving a High Volume Low Speed (HVLS) ceiling fan needs to provide more driving force and use more driving current due to the large Volume and rotational inertia of the fan blades, and accordingly, the reaction force impact and pulse damage caused by the motor stalling can cause more serious damage.
The existing motor device improves the strength of a rotating structure and installs a protection element in a loop, such as: the additional devices such as fuses, arresters, or filters protect the motor, which may increase the manufacturing cost of the product and may reduce the operating efficiency of the motor by consuming part of the driving force due to the increased structural weight and circuit complexity of the motor.
Accordingly, there is a need for improved motor stall protection systems and methods.

When the processing unit generates the monitoring result that the driving is normal, the processing unit controls the driving circuit to adjust the control signal to drive the motor to operate. Therefore, the motor has the effect of maintaining or restarting the normal operation of the motor.
When the processing unit generates the monitoring result to be abnormal, the processing unit controls the driving circuit to adjust the control signal to reduce the output power of the motor. Therefore, the rotating speed of the motor can be reduced when the motor cannot normally operate, and the effect of avoiding damage to the motor structure or a loop is achieved.
