The invention mainly focuses on the following technical problems: how to reduce the insertion force of the connector assembly generated during the connection of the plug and the plug part and how to improve the current carrying capacity of the connector assembly.
In order to solve the above problems, according to one general concept of the present invention, there is provided a connector assembly including a plug and a socket; the plug comprises a first end face part and a second end face part opposite to the first end face part, wherein the first end face part is in a curved surface shape; the socket comprises an inserting component, wherein a first fitting piece and a second fitting piece oppositely arranged with the first fitting piece are arranged inside the inserting component, so that the first end surface component and the second end surface component are respectively in contact fit with the first fitting piece and the second fitting piece, the first fitting piece is in a shape matched with the first end surface component, and the second fitting piece is in a shape matched with the second end surface component. The invention reduces the insertion force of the connector combination and improves the current-carrying capacity by designing at least one part of the plug to have a curved surface shape and at least one part of the plug part to have a mutually matched curved surface shape.
Fig. 1-5 illustrate the connector assembly disclosed herein. Fig. 1 shows the plug 100 of the present embodiment connected with a cable 400, the plug 100 including a first end surface member 110, a second end surface member 120 disposed opposite to the first end surface member 110, a body 130, and a first wire member 140 connected with the body 130. The body 130 includes two opposite sidewalls 131, and the first end surface member 110 and the second end surface member 120 extend from edges of the two sidewalls 131 and are in close contact with each other. The first wire member 140 is used to connect the cable 400. Further, the first end member 110 has two curved surface shapes 111, and the second end member 120 has two curved surface shapes having the same shape as the curved surface shapes 111, so that the first end member 110 and the second end member 120 are symmetrically disposed.
In the present embodiment, the curved surface shape 111 is preferably an involute curved surface. Alternatively, in practical applications, the first end surface part 110 may have one, three or more curved surface shapes 111, and accordingly, the second end surface part 120 may be planar or may have the same number of curved surface shapes of the same shape as the first end surface part 110.
Fig. 2 shows a receptacle 200 of the connector assembly of the present embodiment. The socket 200 includes: the connector comprises a base 230, a plug member 210 sleeved on the base 230, and a second wire connecting member 240 connected with the base 230 and used for connecting a cable 400. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the plug member 210 and the base 230 are two separate components, and can be fixedly connected together by the fixing structures on the plug member 210 and the base 230, so as to flexibly replace the plug member 210 in practical applications. The base 230 includes two opposite sidewalls 231 and a top wall 232 connecting the two sidewalls 231, and the top wall 232 has a card hole 233 at both sides. The plug member 210 has two opposite side walls 214 and a top wall 215 and a bottom wall 216 connecting the two side walls 214, and the two side walls 214 respectively have hooks 217 capable of cooperating with two clipping holes 233 on the base 230 to fixedly connect the plug member 210 to the base 230.
As shown in fig. 3A to 3C, in the present embodiment, a first mating member 211 and a second mating member 212 opposite to the first mating member 211 are disposed inside the inserting component 210. The first fitting member 211 and the second fitting member 212 are respectively formed by bending inward from two opposite side wall 214 edges of the insertion part 210. The first fitting 211 has a shape matching the curved surface 111 of the first end surface member 110, and the second fitting 212 has a shape matching the shape of the second end surface member 120. Further, in this embodiment, the inserting component 210 may further include at least one pair of slots 213, such that the pair of slots 213 are respectively and correspondingly disposed on the first mating member 211 and the second mating member 212. Alternatively, at least one pair of splines may be provided on the first and second end members 110 and 120.
In the present embodiment, during the insertion of the plug 100 into the socket 200, the first end surface part 110 and the second end surface part 120 are respectively in contact fit (preferably, interference fit) with the first mating element 211 and the second mating element 212, so as to achieve the tight connection between the plug 100 and the plugging element 210.
As shown in fig. 1 and 2, in the present embodiment, since the first end surface part 110 and the second end surface part 120 of the plug 100 respectively have two identical involute curved surfaces, the first mating part 211 and the second mating part 212 also respectively have two involute curved surfaces matching the involute curved surfaces of the first end surface part 110 and the second end surface part 120 for contact mating.
Furthermore, as shown in fig. 2 and 4-5, five pairs of slots 213 are provided in the plug member 210, that is, each pair of slots 213 is respectively provided on the first mating member 211 and the second mating member 212. The splines 213 provided in the mating member 210 increase the contact area of the plug 100 with the mating member 210, thereby contributing to the current carrying capability of the connector assembly. Alternatively, three pairs of splines 213 may be provided in the plug member 210, depending on the application.
Alternatively, three or five pairs of splines may be provided on only the first and second end members 110, 120 of the plug 100 to achieve the above-described effect.
As shown in fig. 2, the plug member 210 is disposed on the base 230, so that different plug members can be selected to connect with the plug under different conditions. For example, when it is desired to achieve a connector assembly with a high current carrying capacity, a mating member having five pairs of slots may be selected to couple to the base to achieve the connection of the connector assembly. For another example, when the connector assembly does not need to have a high current carrying capacity or the actual placement space of the connector assembly is small, the plug member having three pairs of slots may be selected to be coupled to the base to achieve the connection of the connector assembly.
In addition, in the embodiment, the plugging member 210 and the base 230 can be made of the same material or different materials, so as to reduce the manufacturing cost of the connector assembly. For example, the base can be made of brass with a low price, and the plug-in component is made of copper-nickel-silicon alloy with high quality and high price. The manufacturing costs of the connector assembly can thereby be considerably reduced.
Fig. 3A-3C sequentially illustrate the process of coupling the plug 100 to the receptacle 200. In the case that the surfaces of the first end surface part 110, the second end surface part 120, the first mating element 211 and the second mating element 212 are all involute curved surfaces, the pressure generated in the process of inserting the plug 100 into the socket 200 is always perpendicular to the contact motion direction between the plug 100 and the plug part 210; since the contact resistance is inversely proportional to the square root of the magnitude of the above-mentioned pressure during the actual insertion, the more stable the pressure, the more stable the contact resistance.
Fig. 4 and 5 show the case where the connector combination is separated and connected, respectively. As can be seen from fig. 4, the plug 100 is connected to a cable 400, the socket 200 is connected to another cable 400, and the flexible cooperation of the plug member 210 and the base 230 makes the connector assembly disclosed herein suitable for different application scenarios. As can be seen from fig. 5, during the coupling of the plug 100 to the plugging part 210, the insertion force becomes smaller and the current carrying becomes larger compared to the conventional connector combination.
The connector assembly disclosed in this embodiment can utilize the mutual fit between the curved surface shape of the first end surface component and the curved surface shape of the first mating piece and the mutual fit between the second end surface component and the second mating piece to realize the connection between the plug component and the plug; in addition, at least one pair of tooth grooves are designed on the plug part or the plug head, so that the current carrying capacity of the connector combination can be further improved. Compared with the prior art, the disclosed design scheme reduces the insertion force required by the connection of the plug-in component and the plug, thereby greatly reducing the total insertion force under the condition that thousands of connector combinations are required in a large-scale factory production line, lightening the burden of operators and integrally improving the insertion efficiency of the connector combinations. In addition, the flexible fixing mode of the plugging component and the base can also realize flexible selection of the plugging component so as to meet the requirement of realizing different current-carrying capacities in different application scenes.
The above description is only an alternative embodiment of the embodiments of the present disclosure and is not intended to limit the embodiments of the present disclosure. Various modifications and changes may occur to the embodiments of the disclosure to those skilled in the art. Any modification, equivalent replacement, improvement, etc. made within the spirit and principle of the embodiments of the present disclosure should be included in the scope of protection of the embodiments of the present disclosure.
While embodiments of the present disclosure have been described with reference to several particular embodiments, it should be understood that embodiments of the present disclosure are not limited to the particular embodiments disclosed. The disclosed embodiments are intended to cover various modifications and equivalent arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the appended claims. The scope of the following claims is to be accorded the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent structures and functions.
