Description

Timepiece for a timepiece
The invention relates to a timepiece for a timepiece movement. The invention also relates to a timepiece movement and to a timepiece comprising such a timepiece. The invention finally relates to a clutch of this type for a timepiece movement.
The timepiece chronograph usually includes a clutch to allow its operation and its stop. The operation of the chronograph hands is produced by a complex gear train comprising such clutches. A first technical problem observed in the prior art solutions is that such a complex gear train causes the chronograph hands to flutter. A second technical problem observed in the prior art solutions is the starting jump of the chronograph hands caused by the operation of the clutch, which is reflected in a sudden and violent movement of the chronograph hands following the start of the chronograph. This start jump gives the user the impression of a timer failure.
The object of the present invention is to propose a timepiece that overcomes the above mentioned problems and improves upon the solutions known in the prior art.
More specifically, a first object of the present invention is to propose a timepiece in which the judder of the chronograph hands is reduced or even eliminated.
A second object of the invention is to propose a timepiece which reduces or even eliminates the jump at the start of the chronograph hands.
To this end, the invention relates to a timepiece for a timepiece movement, wherein the timepiece includes a timing shaft capable of carrying a timing seconds hand on which a timing wheel is mounted, and wherein the timepiece includes a seconds clutch disc having a lower seconds clutch wheel capable of meshing with a driving seconds wheel of a seconds disc of the timepiece movement and an upper seconds clutch wheel, the seconds clutch disc being capable of assuming two positions by rotation about a swing axis, the positions corresponding on the one hand to a timepiece engaged configuration in which the upper seconds clutch wheel of the seconds clutch disc meshes with the timing wheel, and on the other hand to a disengaged configuration in which the upper seconds clutch wheel of the seconds clutch disc is no longer meshed with the timing wheel, and wherein at least one of the upper and lower seconds clutch wheels of the seconds clutch disc is a wheel for compensating play.
The seconds clutch plate may include a seconds clutch shaft having both upper and lower seconds clutch wheels disposed thereon and pivotable about a swing axis perpendicular to the seconds clutch shaft positioned at a pivot point therebelow, allowing it to occupy both its engaged and disengaged configurations, respectively.
The upper second clutch pulley may be a pulley for compensating play.
Both the upper and lower seconds clutch pulley of the seconds clutch disc may be pulleys for compensating play.
The seconds clutch shaft of the seconds clutch disc can oscillate between two positions defined by two axes respectively distributed on either side of the vertical axis.
The upper second clutch wheel may be positioned at the upper half of the height of the second clutch shaft of the second clutch disc measured from its axis of oscillation or above the two thirds of the height, inclusive, and the lower second clutch wheel may be positioned at the lower half of the height of the second clutch shaft of the second clutch disc or at the bottom third of the height, inclusive.
The upper second clutch wheel may include a pointed flag-shaped tooth with a rounded end.
The lower second clutch pulley may comprise split teeth for compensating play.
The invention also relates to a timepiece movement, wherein the movement includes a timepiece as described above.
The timepiece movement may include a seconds disc having a driving seconds wheel continuously engaged with a lower seconds clutch wheel of a seconds clutch disc of the timepiece.
The invention also relates to a timepiece, in particular a wristwatch, wherein the timepiece comprises a timepiece as described above.
More specifically, the invention also relates to a clutch for a timepiece movement, comprising the features described above.
These objects, features and advantages of the present invention will be described in detail in the following description of one particular embodiment, given by way of non-limiting example, with reference to the accompanying drawings, in which:
fig. 1 is a schematic cross-sectional view on a plane through the axis of the seconds clutch disc of a timepiece in an engaged position according to one embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 2 is a schematic cross-sectional view of a timepiece in a detached position according to an embodiment of the invention.
Fig. 3 illustrates a view of an upper second clutch pulley of the second clutch disc according to an embodiment of the present invention.
Fig. 4 illustrates a view of a lower second clutch pulley of the second clutch disc according to an embodiment of the present invention.
For the sake of simplicity of description, the vertical direction is conventionally the direction of the axis of rotation of the hands of timepieces and timepieces. The horizontal direction is thus perpendicular to the vertical direction.
A timepiece according to an embodiment of the invention is shown in part in figures 1 and 2. The timepiece comprises a first part having a driving seconds wheel 1 fixed to the seconds disc. The timepiece comprises a third part having a chronograph wheel 31 for driving in rotary motion a chronograph shaft 32 carrying a chronograph second hand, not shown.
The timepiece according to the embodiment also includes a second intermediate member in the form of a swing-type seconds clutch disc. The seconds clutch disc comprises a seconds clutch shaft 22 which can rotate with a small amplitude about a substantially horizontal axis at its lower pivot point 23, i.e. an axis perpendicular to the seconds clutch shaft 22. The upper pivot point 24 thereof can thus take up two positions. In a first position, shown in fig. 1, corresponding to the timer engaged configuration, the seconds clutch shaft 22 is along a first axis C with respect to a vertical axis C1Inclined to the first side and in a second position, shown in figure 2, corresponding to the configuration of disengagement of the chronograph, second clutch shaft 22 is along a second axis C with respect to the vertical axis C2To an opposite second side, with the upper pivot point 24 set to one side. It should be noted that the lower pivot point 23 of the second clutch shaft 22 remains fixed.
The second clutch shaft 22 of the second clutch disk carries two second clutch wheels and continues to rotate. Specifically, the lower seconds clutch wheel 21 is continuously engaged with the seconds wheel 1 so as to rotate it one revolution per minute about its axis B. The upper seconds clutch wheel 25 is intended to cooperate with a chronograph wheel 31: in the chronograph-engaging configuration, it engages with the chronograph wheel 31. The oscillating seconds clutch thus drives the timing wheel 31 in rotation about its axis D. In the disengaged configuration, the seconds clutch shaft 22 is tilted in a direction to move the upper seconds clutch wheel 25 away from the timing wheel 31 so that their respective teeth no longer intermesh. In this disengaged configuration, seconds clutch shaft 22 no longer drives chronograph wheel 31 in rotation and no longer rotates the chronograph seconds hand.
The second clutch disc thus becomes the clutch for the timer. Which can be operated by rotation of second clutch lever 4 about its axis a during various functions of the timepiece (for example start, stop).
Fig. 3 shows in particular the upper seconds clutch wheel 25 of the seconds clutch disc. It is positioned substantially at the upper two thirds of the height of the seconds clutch shaft 22 and is generally located in the upper half of the height of the seconds clutch shaft 22, especially above (including) the top two thirds of the height, as measured from its lower axis of rotation. According to the present embodiment, the upper second clutch pulley 25 is a pulley for compensating for backlash. Which includes teeth in the form of resilient flag spikes 26. Each resilient flag-tip 26 is in the form of a resilient blade extending rearwardly with respect to the direction of rotation of the wheel. Such a blade has a small curvature with its centre of curvature on one side of the gear. Each tip flag also has a rounded end 27. The rounded end can be considered as a small sphere whose center is not in the extension of the pointy part 26, but is in front of the extension. These teeth 26 in the form of elastic sharp flags with rounded ends 27 cooperate with conventional triangular teeth belonging to a chronograph wheel 31. This geometry of the teeth of the upper seconds clutch wheel 25 allows it to engage smoothly with the chronograph wheel to compensate for the oscillating movement or slight rotation of the seconds clutch shaft 22 by a few degrees, facilitating a gentle engagement. Each end 27 is positioned itself between two triangular teeth and its rounded shape allows it not to strike the tops of the teeth of the chronograph wheel but to insert itself between the two tops of the two teeth by sliding in a continuous motion. The resilience of the flag tip allows deep engagement between the roots of the sets of teeth to eliminate any backlash and to solve any lack of concentricity of the discs. Furthermore, it is important to provide a large number of teeth on the timing wheel, for example a number greater than 180.
Fig. 4 particularly shows the lower seconds clutch pulley 21 of the seconds clutch disc. It is positioned substantially at the upper third of the height of the seconds clutch shaft or at the bottom third of the height, inclusive, and is generally in the lower half of the height of the seconds clutch shaft 22, measured from its lower axis of rotation. This close location to the axis of rotation allows a small movement of the lower second clutch pulley 21, which can be considered a small translational movement. Due to this small translational movement when the seconds clutch disc is oscillated, the intermeshing between the fixed seconds wheel 1 and the lower seconds clutch wheel 21 is not significantly disturbed and operation of the clutch function is not generated or, indeed, a start jump of the chronograph hands is not generated, unlike what occurs with the prior art horizontal clutch engagement. In addition, the intermeshing between the seconds wheel 1 and the lower seconds clutch wheel 21 at engagement only varies slightly, which solution, in cooperation with the use of a toothing for compensating play, is advantageous in reducing or even eliminating any rattling of the chronograph hand. Therefore, according to the present embodiment, the lower second clutch pulley 21 is a pulley for compensating for backlash. It comprises a split tooth 28 formed by two resilient blades distributed on either side of the opening. It should be noted that the use of a gear for compensating play amplifies the kick-off effect in the case where the clutch may cause a large movement of the lower seconds clutch wheel 21 relative to the seconds wheel 1 (as in the case of the horizontal clutch of the prior art).
It is therefore evident that the use of a second clutch disc, which provides a clutch function by a small rotation or oscillation about an axis, combined with the use of one or more wheels for compensating play, allows to greatly reduce, or even eliminate, any jerks and any run-out.
Of course, the invention is not limited to the described embodiments. In particular, the two seconds clutch wheels 21, 25 may have other geometries as long as the play compensation function is achieved. For example, the play compensation can be achieved by means of elastic arms associated with the rims, the teeth thus being able to adopt a traditional shape.
According to another embodiment, not shown, the clutch may be provided with only one of the two wheels comprising teeth with play-compensating profiles, which already enables an improved operation of the timepiece, in particular in terms of the start run-out.
The timepiece according to the embodiment is for a timepiece movement and for a timepiece. The timepiece is, for example, a watch, in particular a wristwatch. The timepiece may include a mechanical timepiece movement. For example, the timepiece movement is of the manual winding or automatic winding type.
The clutch mechanism has been described in the above embodiments within a timepiece movement timepiece. In general, however, this mechanism may be implemented to form a clutch between any two of the wheels of a timepiece movement. The invention therefore also relates to a clutch for a timepiece movement, wherein the clutch comprises a clutch disc having a lower clutch wheel that can be brought into engagement with a first driving wheel of a first disc of the timepiece movement and an upper clutch wheel, the clutch disc being able to occupy two positions by rotation about a swing axis, which positions correspond, on the one hand, to a clutch-engaged configuration in which the upper clutch wheel of the clutch disc can be brought into engagement with a second wheel of a second disc of the timepiece movement and, on the other hand, to a disengaged configuration in which said upper clutch wheel of the clutch disc can no longer be brought into engagement with the second wheel of the second disc of the timepiece movement, and wherein at least one of the upper and lower clutch wheels of the clutch disc is a wheel for compensating play. Such a clutch may include all or some of the features described above in relation to the second clutch for the timer.
