Description

Door seal for vehicle
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a door seal for a vehicle. More specifically, the present invention relates to a door seal for a vehicle, which is attached along a peripheral edge of a door of an automobile, a vehicle opening portion opened in a vehicle body (vehicle body), or the like, and which is elastically deformed when the door is closed to prevent entry of rainwater or the like into the vehicle interior.
Background
Conventionally, a vehicle door seal (also referred to as a "weather strip for a vehicle") is attached along a peripheral edge of a vehicle opening portion of a vehicle body as a door serving as a movable member and/or a fixed member (for example, see patent document 1). In this vehicle door seal (hereinafter simply referred to as "seal"), the seal attached between the door and the vehicle body is elastically deformed and is in a sandwiched state by an operation of closing the door by approaching the door to the vehicle opening portion.
As a result, the seal is strongly pressed by the door or the vehicle body by the elastic restoring force (or elastic reaction force) of the seal, and the gap between the door and the vehicle body is closed, so that the entry path of rainwater and the like can be cut off. As a result, it is possible to prevent water, small foreign materials such as dust and dirt, small insects such as ants and the like from entering the vehicle interior, and noise, wind and the like from entering the vehicle exterior. Thus, the driver and the passenger in driving can always maintain a comfortable vehicle interior space without feeling uncomfortable by the seal.
The basic structure of the seal is, for example, such as shown in fig. 7. That is, the seal 100 mainly includes: a seal base 101 fixed to a door, a vehicle body, or the like (not shown) by a known fixing means (e.g., a jig or the like); a hollow seal portion 102 formed integrally with the seal base 101, a part of which is crushed and deformed when the door is closed; and a plate-like or tongue-like lip portion 103 formed integrally with the seal portion 102 and protruding outward from the outer surface 102a of the seal portion 102.
The seal 100 is formed using an elastically deformable rubber material as a main material, and the main material having a melt property whose viscosity is adjusted by heating to a predetermined temperature can be molded into a desired shape by using a known resin molding technique such as an extrusion molding technique or a die molding technique (injection molding technique). Here, the seal is attached along the peripheral edge of the door or the like, and therefore is generally long. Therefore, the extrusion molding technique is mainly used for the formation. Fig. 7 schematically shows a cross-sectional shape of the seal 100 obtained by extrusion molding. As a resin material such as an elastically deformable rubber material used as a main material, for example, ethylene-propylene-diene rubber (EPDM), another thermoplastic elastomer, or the like is mainly used.

Disclosure of Invention
Technical problem to be solved by the invention
As described above, the seal formed of EPDM or the like can elastically deform between the door and the vehicle body and cut off the path of water or the like, and therefore, intrusion from the vehicle exterior to the vehicle interior can be substantially reliably prevented. Namely, high sealing performance is provided. However, in particular, in recent years, problems may occur in the following proposed special situations.
As described above, the seal member only needs to have a sealing effect of sealing against water or the like, and therefore the size and position of the lip portion or the like are determined according to the size required for the sealing effect. Therefore, even when the door is mounted between the door on the front seat side of the passenger car and the vehicle body, for example, the gap between the door and the fender in the vicinity thereof and the a-pillar is not hidden. Therefore, the gap between the door and the fender may be visible from the outside of the vehicle, resulting in poor appearance.
Further, since a large gap is formed between the door and the fender as described above, wind noise may be generated in the gap during high-speed traveling.
In view of the above circumstances, an object of the present invention is to provide a vehicle door seal that blocks a gap between a door and a vehicle body, improves appearance, and suppresses wind noise generated during high-speed traveling.
Means for solving the problems
According to the present invention, a door seal (vehicle door seal) is provided that solves the above problems.
[1] A vehicle door seal that seals between a front seat side door and a vehicle body, comprising: a seal base mounted in abutment with a portion of the door; a seal portion of a hollow structure, which is formed integrally with the seal base portion and at least partially abuts against the vehicle body when the door is closed, a part of the seal portion being crushed and deformed between the door and the vehicle body; and a tongue-shaped lip portion that is formed integrally with at least one of the seal base portion and the seal portion and protrudes in a predetermined direction, the lip portion being formed along a longitudinal direction of the seal base portion and the seal portion so as to gradually increase a protruding width of the at least one of the seal base portion and the seal portion toward a lip tip portion of the lip portion, and a gap between the door and the vehicle body being shielded by the lip portion that is formed so as to expand.
[2] The vehicle door seal according to item [1] above, further comprising an engaging portion attached to the lip tip portion and engaging with a part of the door.
Effects of the invention
According to the seal of the present invention, the gap between the door and the vehicle body such as the fender can be closed by the expanded lip portion. This makes it impossible to visually recognize the gap from the outside of the vehicle, and thus, the passenger car has an advantage of improved appearance and design. Further, the effect of suppressing wind noise that is expected to be generated during high-speed travel due to the gap is also obtained.

Detailed Description
Hereinafter, embodiments of a seal (vehicle door seal) according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. The seal of the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and various design changes, modifications, improvements, and the like may be applied without departing from the scope of the present invention.
As shown in fig. 1 to 5, a seal 1 according to an embodiment of the present invention is attached along a peripheral edge 2 of a door D of a passenger car C to prevent water or the like from entering the vehicle interior. Specifically, the seal 1 of the present embodiment is mounted along the peripheral edge 2 of the door front portion FD of the front seat side door D of the passenger vehicle C, sealing between the front seat side door D and the vehicle body B. Here, as shown in fig. 1, the door front portion FD of the door D corresponds to a portion that abuts against the a-pillar of the passenger car C and the vehicle body B near the fender provided in connection with the a-pillar.
To explain a specific structure of the seal of the present embodiment, for example, as shown in fig. 2, the seal 1 mainly includes: a sealing base 3, a sealing part 4 with a hollow structure and a tongue-shaped lip 5.
The seal 1 of the present embodiment is a seal obtained by integrally molding the above-described structure by extrusion molding a resin material that can elastically deform under stress, and is configured to be elongated as a whole. The resin material constituting the seal material 1 is not particularly limited, and for example, a resin material containing ethylene-propylene-diene (hereinafter referred to as "EPDM") as a main raw material can be preferably used.
Next, describing each structure of the seal 1 in more detail, the seal base portion 3 is attached along the peripheral edge 2 of the door D, and is configured to include two substantially polygonal hollow portions 3e and 3f, and the two hollow portions 3e and 3f are surrounded by a bottom portion 3a facing the door D, three leg portions 3b, 3c, and 3D standing from the bottom portion 3a, and a seal portion 4 and a part of a lip portion 5 described later (see fig. 2 and the like).
The structure of the seal base 3 is not limited to the two hollow portions 3e and 3f provided by the three leg portions 3b, 3c, and 3D, and may be configured to be able to abut against the door D and attach the seal 1 to the door D. Further, the structure, operation, and effects of the seal base 3 are well known, and therefore, detailed description thereof is omitted. As shown in fig. 3 and 4 described later, the seal base portion 3 may change along the longitudinal direction, and the leg portion 3b and the hollow portion 3e may disappear to form a part of the seal portion 4.
On the other hand, a part of the seal portion 4 is connected to the upper ends of the 3 leg portions 3b, 3c, 3D of the seal base portion 3, and the seal portion 4 includes a hollow deformable portion 4a having a hollow tubular structure formed by combining a plurality of curved lines and straight lines, and is elastically deformable in accordance with the opening and closing operation of the door D. That is, in a state where no force is applied to the seal 4, in other words, in a state where the door D is opened, the shape shown in fig. 3, for example, is maintained. When the door D is closed from this state, the seal portion 4 comes into contact with a part of the vehicle body B, and is pressed toward the door D by the vehicle body B, whereby the seal portion 4 having a hollow tubular structure is pressed flat and elastically deformed.
That is, the cross-sectional shape of the seal portion 4 in fig. 3 changes. Here, fig. 3 is a sectional view showing a positional relationship between the door D and the vehicle body B when the door D is in a closed state, and the seal portion 4 (seal 1) shows a shape when the door D is in an open state (the same applies to fig. 6 described later).
As described above, since the seal 1 is made of an elastically deformable resin material, the elastically deformed seal portion 4 generates an elastic reaction force to return to its original state. Therefore, the seal portion 4 generates a force in a direction of pushing back the vehicle body B. As a result, the vehicle body B and the seal portion 4 are further firmly adhered. This can restrict the flow of water or the like between the vehicle body B and the seal portion 4. That is, the sealing property of water or the like on the vehicle body B side is exhibited. The structure, operation, and effects of the seal portion 4 are well known, and therefore, detailed description thereof is omitted.
As shown in fig. 2, the seal member 1 of the present embodiment is further provided with a tongue-shaped lip portion 5 which is integrally formed with the seal base portion 3 and/or the seal portion 4 and projects in a predetermined direction. Here, the operational effects such as the sealing performance achieved by the lip portion 5 are known, and therefore, the detailed description thereof is omitted.
The lip portion 5 of the seal 1 of the present embodiment can exhibit the above-described operational effects relating to the sealing performance, and can also exhibit the following operational effects. That is, as shown in fig. 2 and the like, the lip portion 5 is integrally formed along the longitudinal direction L (corresponding to the substantially vertical direction in fig. 2) of the seal base portion 3 and the seal portion 4. The projecting width W in the predetermined projecting direction from the outer surface 6 of the seal base 3 and/or the seal portion 4 is formed to be larger than that of a conventional seal. In particular, the protruding width W is formed so as to gradually expand toward the lip tip portion 5a of the lip portion 5.
Since the lip portion 5 having this structure is provided, for example, as shown in fig. 4, the gap CA between the door D and the vehicle body B can be shielded or closed. Here, fig. 4 shows an enlarged view of the vicinity of the door front portion FD of the front seat side door D of the passenger car C to which the seal 1 of the present embodiment is attached. A gap CA between the a-pillar AP and the fender F, which is a part of the vehicle body B facing the door D, is closed by the lip 5 of the seal 1 (see a hatched area in fig. 4). The lip portion 5 of the seal 1 of the present embodiment is formed to have a width larger than that of the conventional art, and the seal 1 may be visually recognized in the gap CA between the door D and the vehicle body B. This makes it possible to avoid the seal 1 from being visible from the outside of the vehicle to the inside of the vehicle. Therefore, the appearance of the passenger car C can be improved.
On the other hand, fig. 5 shown in contrast thereto shows an enlarged view of the door front portion vicinity FD of the front seat side door D of the passenger car C to which the normal seal is attached. In this case, at least a part of the vehicle interior I can be recognized from the outside of the vehicle through the gap CA in the manner of using the seal 1 of the present embodiment. As a result, the appearance may be deteriorated. The seal 1 of the present embodiment can restrict the visibility from the outside of the vehicle by the lip portion 5.
Further, the seal 1 of the present embodiment achieves the following effects. That is, the effect of suppressing wind noise mainly generated during high-speed running or the like can be obtained. In general, depending on the shape such as the unevenness formed on the exterior of a vehicle of a passenger car, wind noise may be generated during high-speed traveling or the like. In the case of fig. 5 shown above, a large gap CA is formed between the door D and the vehicle body B such as the fender F. Therefore, it is considered that the vehicle surface has large irregularities.
In contrast, in the case of the passenger car C (see fig. 1) to which the seal 1 of the present embodiment is applied, the gap CA can be closed by a part of the lip portion 5, and thus the shape of the unevenness to the outside of the vehicle can be reduced. As a result, the generation of wind noise can be suppressed or reduced. This can improve the comfort of the space inside the vehicle during high-speed traveling or the like.
The seal 1 of the present embodiment is configured to include, in addition to the above configuration, an engaging portion 7, and the engaging portion 7 is configured to be engageable with a lip distal end portion 5a of the lip portion 5 and a part of the door D. As described above, the projection width W needs to be increased compared to a normal seal, and therefore, the seal is more susceptible to wind and the like during traveling than the conventional seal 1. That is, the wind entering through the gap CA may strongly strike the lip 5.
In particular, since the entire seal 1 including the lip portion 5 is integrally molded using an elastically deformable resin material, the lip portion 5 may vibrate entirely or a part thereof may directly collide with the surrounding vehicle body B or the door D by the pressure of the wind. As a result, the driver and the like may feel uncomfortable vibrations, sounds, and the like, and a comfortable vehicle space may not be secured.
Therefore, the seal 1 of the present embodiment includes the locking portion 7 having a substantially コ -shaped cross section formed by bending a part of the lip portion 5 in a direction of about 180 ° at the lip distal end portion 5a of the lip portion 5. This allows the lip distal end portion 5a to be sandwiched between the portions D1 of the door D having a substantially コ -shaped cross section (see fig. 6).
With this configuration, even if the lip 5 is formed to have a larger width than the conventional one, it is possible to eliminate a defect that the lip 5 vibrates greatly. The shape and structure of the locking portion 7 are not limited to those shown in fig. 2 and 6, and may be fixed to the door D and provided with the above-described function of preventing vibration and the like.
As described above, the seal member of the present invention not only has the effect of normal sealing performance and the like, but also has a shielding function of preventing the vehicle interior from being seen from the outside of the vehicle and a wind noise suppressing function of suppressing the generation of wind noise during high-speed traveling because the seal member has the lip portion formed wider than the normal width.
Practicality of use
The seal (door seal for a vehicle) of the present invention can be attached to doors, body openings, and the like of various vehicles such as passenger cars, industrial vehicles, agricultural vehicles, and the like, and is expected to be applied to various other industrial technical fields.
