背景技术
近年来,为了提升LCD产品的对比度,Mini/Micro LED技术得到广泛的关注和发展。目前阶段Mini/Micro LED技术主要应用于背光技术,搭配Local Dimming的区域调光技术,可以有效地提升LCD的显示对比度,极大地提升产品显示的效果。然而,LED驱动时序控制在设计上是个难题,倘若时序控制不当,容易导致LED灯烧坏。
因此,如何提高显示产品的显示画面的对比度仍是本领域技术人员亟待解决的问题。
发明内容
本发明提供一种显示装置及其驱动方法,以提升显示产品的对比度。
为了解决上述问题,本发明公开了一种显示装置,所述显示装置包括:
第一显示面板,包括多个能够显示彩色的第一像素单元,各所述第一像素单元包括多个子像素单元;
第二显示面板,设置于所述第一显示面板的出光侧,包括多个第二像素单元;
其中,所述第二像素单元的分布密度大于所述子像素单元的分布密度。

所述驱动电路还用于:在一帧图像的刷新周期内,向所述第四栅线输出的扫描信号相对于向所述第三栅线输出的扫描信号延迟。
在一种可选的实现方式中,所述第四栅线上的扫描信号相对于所述第三栅线上扫描信号的延迟时间为所述第一显示面板的响应时间。
在一种可选的实现方式中,所述第一显示面板与所述第二显示面板的刷新频率相同。
为了解决上述问题,本发明还公开了一种显示装置的驱动方法,用于驱动任一实施例所述的显示装置,所述驱动方法包括:
获取所述第一显示面板的各所述子像素单元的第一灰阶值;
根据所述第一灰阶值确定所述第二显示面板的各所述第二像素单元的第二灰阶值,并根据所述第二灰阶值驱动所述第二显示面板进行显示,以调节所述第一显示面板的出射光经过所述第二显示面板的透过率。
在一种可选的实现方式中,所述第一显示面板包括第一子像素单元,所述第一子像素单元在所述第二显示面板上的正投影覆盖预设数量的第二像素单元,所述根据所述第一灰阶值确定所述第二显示面板的各所述第二像素单元的第二灰阶值的步骤,包括:
根据所述第一子像素单元的第一灰阶值、与所述第一子像素单元相邻的子像素单元的第一灰阶值以及所述预设数量,确定所述预设数量的第二像素单元的第二灰阶值。

本申请技术方案提供了一种显示装置及其驱动方法,其中显示装置包括第一显示面板、第二显示面板和驱动电路,第一显示面板包括多个能够显示彩色的第一像素单元,各第一像素单元包括多个子像素单元;第二显示面板设置于第一显示面板的出光侧,包括多个第二像素单元;其中,第二像素单元的分布密度大于子像素单元的分布密度。这样,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置第二显示面板,在第一显示面板进行画面显示时,可以对第二显示面板进行灰阶调光,从而改变第一显示面板显示画面的对比度,提升显示装置显示画面的对比度,另外,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置一个更高分辨率的第二显示面板,可以在不加大制程难度的情况下有效提升画面显示的细腻程度,提升显示装置的分辨率。

具体实施方式
为使本发明的上述目的、特征和优点能够更加明显易懂,下面结合附图和具体实施方式对本发明作进一步详细的说明。
本申请一实施例提供了一种显示装置,参照图1,该显示装置可以包括:
第一显示面板10,包括多个能够显示彩色的第一像素单元101,各第一像素单元101包括多个子像素单元1011;
第二显示面板11,设置于第一显示面板10的出光侧,包括多个第二像素单元111;
其中,第二像素单元111的分布密度大于子像素单元1011的分布密度。
第二显示面板11中各第二像素单元111的作用为调节入射光(即第一显示面板10出射光)的透过率,为了降低显示装置的功耗,提高出光效率,第二显示面板11可以为只能进行黑白显示的显示面板,例如第二显示面板11可以为未设置彩膜的液晶显示面板。
在实际应用中,当第一显示面板10中的子像素单元1011需要显示较低灰阶的画面时,可以控制与这些低灰阶的子像素单元1011对应的第二像素单元111(例如可以是与低灰阶的子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影有交叠的第二像素单元111)的灰阶值也相应较低,使显示装置在该区域的画面显示亮度降低;当第一显示面板10中的子像素单元1011需要显示较高灰阶的画面时,可以控制与这些高灰阶的子像素单元1011对应的第二像素单元111(例如可以是与高灰阶的子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影有交叠的第二像素单元111)的灰阶值也相应较高,使显示装置在该区域的画面显示亮度提高,因此本实施例提供的显示装置可以提高显示画面的对比度。
假设第一显示面板10显示画面本身的对比度为500∶1,第二显示面板11的对比度亦为500∶1,当第一显示面板10与第二显示面板11叠加进行画面显示时,对比度最大值亦叠加,叠加后的对比度为250000∶1,可见本实施例提供的显示装置能够极大地提升显示画面的对比度。
第二像素单元111的分布密度大于子像素单元1011的分布密度,即第二显示面板11的分辨率比第一显示面板10的分辨率更高。如图4所示,通过在第一显示面板10的出光侧设置一个更高分辨率的第二显示面板11,可以使第一显示面板10的显示画面经过第二显示面板11后变得更加精细,实现更高分辨率的图像显示,进一步提升了显示PPI(Pixels PerInch,像素密度)。其中,第一显示面板10的分辨率为240*135,其显示效果如图5所示,第二显示面板11的分辨率为3840*2160,其显示效果如图6所示。
随着分辨率的提升,彩色显示面板的制程难度在不断加大,而第二显示面板11可以黑白显示面板,相对于彩色显示面板,黑白显示面板的制程难度可以大大降低。因此,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置一个更高分辨率的黑白显示的第二显示面板11,可以在不加大制程难度的情况下有效提升画面显示的细腻程度,提升显示装置的分辨率。
本实施例提供的显示装置,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置第二显示面板,在第一显示面板进行画面显示时,可以对第二显示面板进行灰阶调光,从而改变第一显示面板显示画面的对比度,提升显示装置显示画面的对比度,另外,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置一个更高分辨率的第二显示面板,可以在不加大制程难度的情况下有效提升画面显示的细腻程度,提升显示装置的分辨率。
在一种可选的实现方式中,第一显示面板10中各子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影可以覆盖多个第二像素单元111。如图2中各子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影可以覆盖2个第二像素单元111,如图3中各子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影可以覆盖12个第二像素单元111。
在一种可选的实现方式中,本实施例提供的显示装置还可以包括驱动电路,用于获取第一显示面板10的各子像素单元1011的第一灰阶值,根据第一灰阶值确定第二显示面板11的各第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值,并根据第二灰阶值驱动第二显示面板11进行显示,以调节第一显示面板10的出射光经过第二显示面板11的透过率。
在第一显示面板进行画面显示时,驱动电路可以根据第一显示面板中各子像素单元的第一灰阶值控制第二显示面板中各第二像素单元显示第二灰阶值,从而实现对第二显示面板的灰阶调光,提升显示装置显示画面的对比度。
在具体实现中,根据第一显示面板10各子像素单元1011的第一灰阶值确定第二显示面板11上各第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值的实现方式有多种。在一种可选的实现方式中,假设第一显示面板10包括第一子像素单元(可以为任一个子像素单元1011),第一子像素单元在第二显示面板11上的正投影覆盖预设数量的第二像素单元111,这种情况下,可以根据第一子像素单元的第一灰阶值、与第一子像素单元相邻的子像素单元的第一灰阶值以及预设数量,确定预设数量的第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值。
对于一个子像素单元1011对应多个第二像素单元111的情况,可以根据各子像素单元1011的第一灰阶值,采用插值的方式,确定第二显示面板11上各第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值。在实际应用中,第二显示面板11中各第二像素单元111第二灰阶值的确定并不仅限于上述计算方式,本公开实施例对此不作限定。
如图2所示,各子像素单元1011对应两个第二像素单元111。以R列为例,R列中两个子像素单元1011的第一灰阶值分别为R255和R126,R列对应的第二像素单元111有四个,此时可以根据255与126之间的差值以及插值处理,确定R列中四个第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值分别为L255,L212,L169以及L126。采用这种方式可以计算出第二显示面板11中所有第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值。
第一显示面板10可以为OLED显示面板,还可以为设置有彩膜的液晶显示面板。
一种可选的实现方式中,第一显示面板10为OLED显示面板,第二显示面板11为未设置彩膜的液晶显示面板,第一显示面板10包括第一栅线,第二显示面板11包括第二栅线,连接第一栅线的子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影与连接第二栅线的第二像素单元111有交叠,驱动电路还用于:在一帧图像的刷新周期内,向第二栅线和第一栅线输出同步的扫描信号,即第二栅线上的扫描信号与第一栅线上的扫描信号同步。
另一种可选的实现方式中,第一显示面板10为设置有彩膜的液晶显示面板,第二显示面板11为未设置彩膜的液晶显示面板,第一显示面板10包括第三栅线,第二显示面板11包括第四栅线,连接第三栅线的子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影与连接第四栅线的第二像素单元111有交叠,驱动电路还用于:在一帧图像的刷新周期内,向第四栅线输出的扫描信号相对于向第三栅线输出的扫描信号延迟,即第四栅线上的扫描信号相对于第三栅线上的扫描信号延迟。
第四栅线上的扫描信号相对于第三栅线上扫描信号的延迟时间为第一显示面板10的响应时间,这样可以避免画面存在拖尾现象。
当第一显示面板10和第二显示面板11均为液晶显示面板时,该显示装置还可以包括:设置于第一显示面板10远离第二显示面板11一侧的背光源。
这种情况下,第一显示面板10的透过率t(sub)与第二显示面板11的透过率t(main)相乘可以得到显示装置的透过率t(ori),即t(ori)=t(sub)*t(main)。这样,根据第一显示面板10中各子像素单元1011的第一灰阶值sub、第二显示面板11中各第二像素单元111的第二灰阶值main、透过率关系式以及灰阶与透过率的关系式(如下所示),可以计算得到显示装置的各像素的灰阶值ori。
其中,γ1为第一显示面板10的伽马值,γ2为第二显示面板11的伽马值。
对于图3所示的结构,各子像素单元1011在第二显示面板11上的正投影覆盖12个第二像素单元111,即各子像素单元1011与第二显示面板11中的12个第二像素单元111相对应,这种情况下显示装置的透过率可以满足以下关系式:
其中,R(oriblock)/G(oriblock)/B(oriblock)代表显示装置中与一个红色/绿色/蓝色子像素单元1011位置对应区域的透过率,R(sub1)/G(sub1)/B(sub1)代表一个红色/绿色/蓝色子像素单元1011的透过率,t(main(n))(n=1,2....36)代表一个第二像素单元111的透过率。
为了确保显示效果,第一显示面板10与第二显示面板11的刷新频率可以相同,该刷新频率可以为60Hz、120Hz或180Hz等。
本申请技术方案提供了提升显示装置对比度及分辨率的结构方案。通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置一个能够调节自身透过率的第二显示面板,在第一显示面板进行画面显示时,可以根据第一显示面板中各子像素单元的第一灰阶值控制第二显示面板中各第二像素单元显示第二灰阶值,通过对第二显示面板进行灰阶调光,改变第一显示面板显示画面的对比度,从而提升显示装置显示画面的对比度。另外,设置在第一显示面板出光侧的第二显示面板可以具有更高的分辨率,从而有效地提升了产品图像显示的实际分辨率,使显示画面更加精细。
本申请另一实施例还提供了一种显示装置的驱动方法,用于驱动任一实施例所述的显示装置,参照图7,该驱动方法可以包括:
步骤701:获取第一显示面板的各子像素单元的第一灰阶值。
步骤702:根据第一灰阶值确定第二显示面板的各第二像素单元的第二灰阶值,并根据第二灰阶值驱动第二显示面板进行显示,以调节第一显示面板的出射光经过第二显示面板的透过率。
本实施例的执行主体可以为上述的驱动电路。
在一种可选的实现方式中,第一显示面板包括第一子像素单元,第一子像素单元在第二显示面板上的正投影覆盖预设数量的第二像素单元,步骤702具体可以包括:
根据第一子像素单元的第一灰阶值、与第一子像素单元相邻的子像素单元的第一灰阶值以及预设数量,确定预设数量的第二像素单元的第二灰阶值。
本实施例各步骤的具体实现方式参照显示装置实施例中的描述,这里不再赘述。
本申请实施例提供了一种显示装置及其驱动方法,其中显示装置包括第一显示面板、第二显示面板和驱动电路,第一显示面板包括多个能够显示彩色的第一像素单元,各第一像素单元包括多个子像素单元;第二显示面板设置于第一显示面板的出光侧,包括多个第二像素单元;其中,第二像素单元的分布密度大于子像素单元的分布密度。这样,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置第二显示面板,在第一显示面板进行画面显示时,可以对第二显示面板进行灰阶调光,从而改变第一显示面板显示画面的对比度,提升显示装置显示画面的对比度,另外,通过在第一显示面板的出光侧设置一个更高分辨率的第二显示面板,可以在不加大制程难度的情况下有效提升画面显示的细腻程度,提升显示装置的分辨率。

Claims (13)
1.一种显示装置,其特征在于,所述显示装置包括:
第一显示面板,包括多个能够显示彩色的第一像素单元,各所述第一像素单元包括多个子像素单元;
第二显示面板,设置于所述第一显示面板的出光侧,包括多个第二像素单元;
其中,所述第二像素单元的分布密度大于所述子像素单元的分布密度。
2.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其特征在于,各所述子像素单元在所述第二显示面板上的正投影覆盖多个所述第二像素单元。
3.根据权利要求1或2所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述显示装置还包括:
驱动电路,用于获取所述第一显示面板的各所述子像素单元的第一灰阶值,根据所述第一灰阶值确定所述第二显示面板的各所述第二像素单元的第二灰阶值,并根据所述第二灰阶值驱动所述第二显示面板进行显示,以调节所述第一显示面板的出射光经过所述第二显示面板的透过率。
4.根据权利要求3所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第二显示面板为未设置彩膜的液晶显示面板。
5.根据权利要求4所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板为OLED显示面板。
6.根据权利要求5所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板包括第一栅线,所述第二显示面板包括第二栅线,连接所述第一栅线的子像素单元在所述第二显示面板上的正投影与连接所述第二栅线的第二像素单元有交叠,
所述驱动电路还用于:在一帧图像的刷新周期内,向所述第二栅线和所述第一栅线输出同步的扫描信号。
7.根据权利要求4所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板为液晶显示面板。
8.根据权利要求7所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述显示装置还包括:设置于所述第一显示面板远离所述第二显示面板一侧的背光源。
9.根据权利要求7所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板包括第三栅线,所述第二显示面板包括第四栅线,连接所述第三栅线的子像素单元在所述第二显示面板上的正投影与连接所述第四栅线的第二像素单元有交叠,
所述驱动电路还用于:在一帧图像的刷新周期内,向所述第四栅线输出的扫描信号相对于向所述第三栅线输出的扫描信号延迟。
10.根据权利要求9所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第四栅线上的扫描信号相对于所述第三栅线上扫描信号的延迟时间为所述第一显示面板的响应时间。
11.根据权利要求1所述的显示装置,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板与所述第二显示面板的刷新频率相同。
12.一种显示装置的驱动方法,其特征在于,用于驱动权利要求1至11任一项所述的显示装置,所述驱动方法包括:
获取所述第一显示面板的各所述子像素单元的第一灰阶值;
根据所述第一灰阶值确定所述第二显示面板的各所述第二像素单元的第二灰阶值,并根据所述第二灰阶值驱动所述第二显示面板进行显示,以调节所述第一显示面板的出射光经过所述第二显示面板的透过率。
13.根据权利要求12所述的驱动方法,其特征在于,所述第一显示面板包括第一子像素单元,所述第一子像素单元在所述第二显示面板上的正投影覆盖预设数量的第二像素单元,所述根据所述第一灰阶值确定所述第二显示面板的各所述第二像素单元的第二灰阶值的步骤,包括:
根据所述第一子像素单元的第一灰阶值、与所述第一子像素单元相邻的子像素单元的第一灰阶值以及所述预设数量,确定所述预设数量的第二像素单元的第二灰阶值。
