Description

Furniture and fitting for furniture
Technical Field
The invention relates to a piece of furniture having two furniture parts which are connected to one another by means of a fitting connected opposite one another, and to a fitting for a piece of furniture.
Background
The connection of two furniture parts, which are made in particular of wood or wooden material and are configured, for example, in the form of panels, is known. This applies above all to furniture parts which can be moved relative to one another, wherein the furniture part (hereinafter referred to as first furniture part) can be rotated relative to the second furniture part using a rotary fitting. It is also known to enable two furniture parts to be moved relative to one another in the same direction by means of appropriately designed fittings.
According to a general type, such a fitting has a connecting element connected to a first furniture part and a retaining element fixed to the connecting element and connected to a second furniture part.
A rotary fitting is disclosed in EP 1978195 a 1. The functionality of the swivel fitting has been demonstrated, which is fixed by its connecting elements to the swivel frame by screws. The holding element is fixed to the so-called chassis by means of a receptacle part, which is also fixed by means of screws, in which a holding tongue of the holding element, which is designed as a rod, remains locked.
Furniture of the generic type is to be understood as meaning seating or reclining furniture, revolving doors, rotatable flaps or the like, to which the respective fitting is connected by means of screws or the like.
DE 202004005529U 1 relates to a swivel fitting having a connecting bracket of a connecting element and a holding bracket of a holding element, which are each connected to the relevant furniture part by means of screws.
In any case, the fitting must be fastened by the necessary assembly work, in which case tools must be used.
This is obviously associated with a corresponding workload which hinders the cost minimisation which has been sought. This is particularly disadvantageous because common furniture is manufactured industrially in large quantities in standard pieces.
Disclosure of Invention
The invention is based on the object of further developing a universal piece of furniture such that its manufacture, i.e. the assembly of the fitting, is simpler and cheaper.
This object is achieved by a piece of furniture and a fitting for a piece of furniture having the features as described herein.
The use of tools can be at least partially omitted by the structural design of the fitting or the assembly thereof, which considerably simplifies and shortens the production process when the components involved are assembled.
Irrespective of the form in which the fitting is present, for example as a simple joint fitting or as a multi-joint fitting, for example a four-joint fitting or the like, it is within the scope of the invention for at least the connecting element or the holding element to be fixed, i.e. in a plug-in or snap-in connection, while the other joint part can be screwed, for example, to the relevant furniture part.
However, both the connecting element and the holding element are preferably connected to the relevant furniture part according to the connection.
For the sake of simplicity, only the fixing of the connecting element is described below. As mentioned above, the holding element can be fixed in the same way.
According to one embodiment variant, the connecting element has an adapter which is provided with at least one pin which is pressed into a corresponding hole in the first furniture part and is held in this hole in a frictionally engaged manner, wherein the pin is preferably designed to taper conically towards the free end in order to facilitate insertion and to achieve a play-free fit.
The connecting bracket, which is a further component of the connecting element, is provided with a receptacle, which is preferably U-shaped in cross section and which is intended to be configured as a clip, on the side facing the first furniture part and presses on the adapter and locks it. The clear cross-sectional dimension of the receptacle is dimensioned such that it also engages with the first furniture part on the edge side.
In order to mass produce the receptacle and make it available for first furniture parts of different thicknesses, a spacer can be provided, which is arranged between the adapter and the support leg of the receptacle or between the adapter and opposite sides of the furniture part. It is also conceivable to correspondingly adjust the size of the adapter or receptacle and store it.
In order to hold the connecting bracket and the receptacle held thereon on the adapter, a latching element is provided which is designed such that it latches directly when the receptacle is pushed onto the adapter.
According to another idea of the invention, the plug of the connecting element is designed such that the tongue mounted to the connecting bracket is inserted into a slot formed on a narrow side of the plate-like first furniture part.
The dimensions of the slot may correspond to the dimensions of the tongue such that the first furniture part is clamped in any direction by the opposite fitting.
For assembly, the fitting, i.e. its tongue, is first inserted in the first furniture part. The holding element held on the connecting element is then preferably fixed to the second furniture part with its holding bracket, so that all parts are fixed to one another, naturally ensuring the desired relative movement of the two furniture parts with respect to one another.
In a further embodiment variant of the invention, the slot made in the first furniture part is additionally open on its side facing the second furniture part or the holding element, and the length of the slot is significantly greater than the length of the tongue of the connecting bracket.
This thus makes it possible for the fitting to be mounted on the second furniture item first, since the first furniture part can be inserted on the tongues of the two fittings.
In this case, only lateral fixing can be carried out by the connecting bracket, but when used in seating or reclining furniture with adjustable headrest, it can be lengthened automatically, which will reduce the wrinkling of the covering material and any filling underneath it, in particular due to the movability of the first furniture part relative to the connecting element.
Further advantageous embodiments of the invention are defined in the dependent claims.

figures 6 and 7 each show a detail of another embodiment of a piece of furniture according to the invention,
fig. 8 to 11 show different views of a detail of a further embodiment, respectively.
Fig. 12 to 14 show different views of a detail of a further variant of the invention.
Detailed Description
Fig. 1 shows a piece of furniture in the form of a piece of seating furniture, having a first furniture part 1 and a second furniture part 2, which are connected to one another by means of a fitting 3 connected opposite one another. The fittings 3 are designed as swivel fittings, each having a connecting element 4 and a holding element 5 which is rotatably held on the connecting element 4 (fig. 3). The connecting element 4 has a connecting bracket 6 and the holding element 5 has a holding bracket 7.
In the exemplary embodiment shown in fig. 2 to 5, the connecting element 4 is held directly on the first furniture part 1 by a plug-in and/or snap-in connection.
For this purpose, the connecting element 4 has an adapter 9, by means of which adapter 9 the receptacle 8, which is firmly connected to the connecting bracket 6, is locked, for which purpose the adapter 9 has a latching tongue 11, which latching tongue 11 engages in a latching recess 10 of the receptacle 8.
As an alternative to the latching tongue 11 and the latching recess 10, other form-fitting connecting elements can also be used, for example a projecting pin of the adapter 9 can engage in a hole or other opening of the container 8. These snap connections may be configured to be removable or non-removable.
The plug-in connection of the connecting element 4 to the first furniture part 1 is effected by pressing the pin 14 of the adapter 9 into the hole 12 of the first furniture part 1, as is shown in particular in fig. 4.
The pin 14 is dimensioned such that it is held in the hole 12 without play and in particular in a friction connection.
The fitting 3 is mounted on a first piece of furniture such that the adapter 9 with the pin 14 is first inserted into the hole 12 and then the connecting bracket 6 with the receptacle 8 secured thereto is pushed onto the adapter 9 until the two parts are locked together.
In particular, fig. 5 shows that the receptacle 8 is U-shaped in cross section and in the inserted position engages the adapter 9 and the first furniture part 1 on the edge and is supported on the one hand on the adapter 9 and on the other hand on the opposite underside of the first furniture part 1.
The different thicknesses of the first furniture part 1 can be compensated for by a spacer 13 which is arranged in the example between the adapter 9 and the first furniture part 1 and has been penetrated by a pin 14.
Advantageously, the clear cross-sectional dimension of the receptacle 8 is dimensioned according to the largest possible thickness, which is determined by the largest thickness of the first furniture part 1 used and the structure of the adapter 9, so that the fitting 3 with the connected receptacle 8 can be assembled to all possible thickness dimensions for the first furniture part 1, wherein only suitable spacers 13 need to be provided.
However, it is also conceivable to store the adapter 9 or the receptacle 8 in different sizes.
Fig. 3 shows a fitting 3 mounted on a first furniture part 1, a detail of such a fitting 3 being visible in fig. 5, wherein the retaining flange 7 is designed such that it can be connected to the second furniture part 2 by means of screws or the like. In an alternative embodiment, the holding element 5 can also be designed similarly to the connecting element 4.
Fig. 6 and 7 show a further embodiment variant. Wherein for the plug-in connection of the fitting 3 with the first furniture part 1, a tongue 16 is provided which is fastened to the connecting bracket 6 and which is inserted into a groove 15, said groove 15 being embedded in the edge side of the first furniture part 1.
Since the holding element 5 is connected to the second furniture part 2 after assembly, the first furniture part 1 is fixed in correspondence with the tongues 16 of the two opposite connecting brackets 6. The first furniture part 1 is in fact enclosed between the connecting elements 4.
Fig. 6 shows a top sectional view of an assembled fitting 3, and fig. 7 shows a perspective view of such a fitting 3.
In addition to the embodiment variant according to fig. 6 and 7, in the example shown in fig. 8 to 11, in addition to a tongue 16 which runs parallel to the surface of the first furniture part 1 (which tongue otherwise is plate-shaped), a transverse bracket 17 is arranged on the connecting bracket 6, which transverse bracket 17 engages in a transverse slot 18 of the first furniture part 1 and thus enables an additional fixing.
Preferably, the transverse bracket 17 is an integral part of a sheet element which also has the tongue 16 and is firmly connected to the connecting bracket 6.
Fig. 8 shows in detail the fitting 3 constructed in this way, while fig. 9 shows a sectional plan view of the fitted fitting 3.
Fig. 10 shows the arrangement according to fig. 9 in a perspective view, while fig. 11 shows the first furniture part 1 in a separate part, which is provided with a camera 15 and a transverse slot 18 on opposite edges.
As an alternative to embedding the camera 15 and the transverse slot 18 directly in the first furniture part, the first furniture part can also be formed, for example, from a plate having a frame element arranged in a ring shape or at least on opposite sides, wherein the camera 15 and the transverse slot 18 are arranged on or in the frame element.
As a further alternative, it is also possible to insert receiving elements, for example made of plastic, into the pan 15 and/or the transverse slot 18, wherein the tongue 16 and/or the transverse bracket 17 of the connecting bracket 6 are inserted into these receiving elements.
It is also possible here for the receiving part to be firmly fixed to the first furniture part and for a latch to be provided between the receiving part on the one hand and the tongue 16 and/or the transverse bracket 17 on the other hand.
In contrast to the variant of the embodiment described above, in which the first furniture part is fixed in all directions by means of the fitting 3, in the embodiment shown in fig. 12 to 14 the first furniture part 1 can be moved within the longitudinal extent of the coupling bracket 6 to a limited extent.
As a further variant, instead of the tongue 16, two bolts can also be mounted to the connecting bracket 6, which bolts can be inserted into two holes on the furniture part. Thus, the furniture component is enclosed between the fittings.
For this purpose, the tongue 16 of the respective connecting element 4 is slidably guided in a longitudinal slot 19 of the first furniture part 1, which longitudinal slot 19 opens in the direction of the retaining element 5. In principle it is conceivable that the longitudinal slot 19 is intended to be designed as a tongue groove 15, that is to say it is open only at the side where the tongue 16 is inserted.
Fig. 12 shows the start of the assembly of the first furniture part 1. The holding element 5 is here first fixed to the second furniture part 2, while the first furniture part 1, viewed in the direction of the arrow, is pushed onto the fitting 3 such that the tongue 16 slides into the longitudinal slot 19.
Fig. 13 shows the inserted first furniture part 1 in the end position of the inserted position. Finally, fig. 14 shows the first furniture part 1 in isolation, where the arrangement of the longitudinal slot 19 can be clearly seen.
Also in this exemplary embodiment, the first furniture part 1 can also be constructed, for example, from a plate with a frame element which is annular or arranged at least on two opposite sides, wherein the longitudinal slot 19 is arranged on or in the frame element.
As a further alternative, receiving elements, for example made of plastic, can also be inserted into the longitudinal slot 19, wherein the tongues 16 of the connecting brackets 6 are inserted into these receiving elements.
It is also possible that the receiving part is firmly fixed on the first furniture part 1 and that a latch is provided between the receiving part on the one hand and the tongue 16 on the other hand, wherein the latch on the one hand can prevent longitudinal displacement of the first furniture part after assembly or, in addition, can allow limited longitudinal movement between the two end positions.
