Referring to fig. 1 to 3, the card edge connector 100 includes an insulative housing 10, a row of first terminals 20, a row of second terminals 30, and a ground member 40. The insulating body 10 includes a front end surface 11 and a rear end surface 12 opposite to each other, and a slot 13 penetrating the front end surface 11. As can be seen from fig. 4, the card slot 13 extends forward, and the upper wall of the card slot is shorter and located behind the lower wall for oblique insertion of the daughter card.
As shown in fig. 4, the first terminal 20 is inserted into the insulating housing 10 from the front end surface 11. The first terminal 20 includes a fixing portion 22, an elastic portion 21 extending from the fixing portion to the card slot 13, and a pin 23, wherein the elastic portion 21 has a contact portion 210 protruding into the card slot. The fixing portion 22 of the first terminal is fixed to the insulating body adjacent to the front end face 11. The fixing portion 22 of the first terminal is vertical and includes a first interference portion 241 and a second interference portion 242 protruding backward, the first and second interference portions are arranged along the vertical direction, the first interference portion 241 is located at the boundary between the fixing portion 22 and the elastic portion 21, and the second interference portion 242 is located at the position close to the pin 23. The two sides of the fixing part are fixed in the vertical groove in an interference mode, and the heads of the first interference part and the second interference part are provided with barbs, so that the hard interference force is increased.
Referring to fig. 5, the second terminal 30 includes a fixed portion 32, an elastic portion 31 extending from the fixed portion to the card slot 13, and a pin 33, wherein the elastic portion 31 has a contact portion 310 protruding into the card slot. The fixed portion 32 of the second terminal is secured to the housing adjacent the rear face 12. The fixing portion 32 of the second terminal is vertical and includes a first interference portion 341 and a second interference portion 342 protruding backward, the first and second interference portions are arranged along the vertical direction, the first interference portion 341 is located at the boundary between the fixing portion 32 and the elastic portion 31, and the second interference portion 342 is located at the position close to the pin 33. The insulating body 10 has a plurality of vertical grooves (not numbered, i.e., the places accommodated by the fixing portions 32) whose rear end surfaces are recessed forward, a horizontal groove 152 extending rearward from the vertical groove, and a through groove 153 located above the vertical groove and penetrating forward from the rear end surface to the card slot, the fixing portions 32 of the second terminals are accommodated in the vertical groove, the first and second interference portions are fixed in the fixing grooves 152 in a hard interference manner, and the elastic portions 31 are accommodated in the through groove 153 and are elastically deformable in the through groove 143. The two sides of the fixing part 32 are fixed in the vertical groove in an interference mode, and the heads of the first interference part and the second interference part are provided with barbs, so that the hard interference force is increased. The front and rear end surfaces 11, 12 are provided with a plurality of material escape slots 154 parallel to the horizontal slots for improving the manufacturing process.
With reference to fig. 4-5, contact portion 210 of the first terminal extends into card slot 13 from front to back, and contact portion 310 of the second terminal extends into card slot 13 from back to front; the contact portion 210 of the first terminal is located in front of the contact portion 310 of the second terminal and lower than the contact portion of the second terminal, and the elastic portions 21 and 31 are elastically deformable, so that the contact portions 210 and 310 can rotate within the card slot at a small angle for achieving stable electrical connection after the electronic card is obliquely inserted.
With reference to fig. 5-6, the row of second terminals 30 includes signal terminals 30S and ground terminals 30G, the basic structure of the signal terminals and the ground terminals is the same, the second terminals 30 are formed by stamping metal plates, the plane of the metal plates is perpendicular to the arrangement direction of the second terminals 30, the fixing portion 32 is vertical, and the interference portions 341 and 342 protrude forward from the front edge of the fixing portion 32. Referring to fig. 3 to 5, the grounding member 40 is a one-piece horizontal plate structure, and includes a horizontal plate 41 structure and a grounding finger 42 extending obliquely downward, the horizontal plate forming an opening at a position corresponding to each grounding finger, the grounding finger being formed by extending rearward and obliquely downward from a front edge of the opening. The grounding member is horizontally fixed in the insulative housing 10 in front of the second terminal 30, and is located above the second interference portion 342, and its grounding point extends downward into the fixing groove 152 to make electrical contact with the second interference portion. The grounding member may be located below the first interference portion 341, and the grounding finger 42 extends obliquely upward to abut against the first interference portion 341.
The insulating body 10 is provided with a longitudinal slot 171 recessed forward from the rear end face 12 and a plurality of receiving slots 172 located below the longitudinal slot, the horizontal plate 41 of the grounding member is clamped in the longitudinal slot, and the grounding finger 42 extends downward into the receiving slot. The longitudinal grooves are horizontally communicated along the terminal arrangement direction, and the containing grooves are arranged at intervals one by one. The holding groove 152 is located below the receiving groove and is communicated with the receiving groove, and the grounding finger 42 and the second interference portion 142 are electrically contacted with each other in the holding groove and the receiving groove.
The grounding finger 42 abuts against the grounding terminal 30G, so that the grounding terminal 30 and the grounding member are electrically connected to each other. The ground terminals 30G in the row of second terminals are connected together by the ground member, improving resonance between the terminals, thereby achieving improved electrical performance in terms of return loss, insertion loss, and crosstalk of the card edge connector. Further, the grounding member 40 is held in the insulating body and located between the two interference portions 341 and 342 of the second terminal 30, so that the strength of the insulating body 10 can be increased, and the external space is not occupied, which is beneficial to the miniaturization of the electrical connector. In another embodiment, if the first terminal also includes a ground terminal, a ground member may be disposed behind the first terminal, and the ground finger of the ground member may abut against the first or/and second interference portions of the ground terminal of the first terminal.

A card edge connector comprises an insulating body, a row of first terminals, a row of second terminals and a grounding piece, wherein the insulating body comprises a front end face and a rear end face which are opposite, and a clamping groove which penetrates through the front end face; the fixed part protrudes forwards from the front edge of the fixed part to form a first interference part and a second interference part, and the first interference part and the second interference part are fixed on the insulating body; the method is characterized in that: the row of second terminals comprises signal terminals and grounding terminals, the grounding piece is provided with a plurality of grounding fingers, and the grounding fingers are abutted against the second interference parts of the corresponding grounding terminals.
