The invention relates to a liquid fertilizer capable of relieving physiological yellowing of betel nut leaves and an application method thereof, wherein the liquid fertilizer comprises the following raw materials in proportion for each 1 cubic meter of prepared liquid fertilizer: 240-260 kg of amino acid, 150-200 kg of magnesium acetate, 80-100 kg of sorbitol, 30-40 kg of calcium chloride, 10-15 kg of potassium hydroxide, 5-10 kg of chelated iron, 2-4 kg of chelated zinc, 2-4 kg of chelated manganese, 0.1-0.5 kg of chelated copper, 2.5 kg of xanthan gum and the balance of water. The liquid fertilizer can be quickly diluted, is applied through soil or leaf surfaces, is convenient to apply, can improve the cold resistance and drought resistance of the betel nuts, and effectively relieves physiological etiolation of betel nut leaves caused by low temperature, drought and other adverse circumstances.

Investigation by the team finds that the yellowing of the leaves of areca catechu in Hainan mainly occurs in cold seasons and dry seasons, which indicates that the resistance of the areca catechu to low temperature and drought is poor, and reasonable fertilization is an important technical measure for improving the resistance of the areca catechu.
