Description
Technical Field
The invention belongs to the technical field of automobile parts, and particularly relates to a folding method of a head airbag.
Background
In order to install the airbag at the rear of the interior in the vehicle in a space-saving manner, the airbag is folded before installation in the vehicle. When the airbag is activated, gas flows into the airbag, so that the airbag is automatically deployed based on the internal pressure. In such an airbag, the inflation performance depends to a large extent on the manner in which the airbag is folded. A preferred folding of the airbag consists in that the airbag is rolled starting from one edge into an inflation region, through which gas can flow into the airbag.
However, this method has proven to be disadvantageous in that the airbag wound in this way has a circular cross-sectional shape, so that a housing with a corresponding installation depth is required. However, depending on the installation conditions, a flat airbag package is desired, which can also be positioned in a region between the vehicle body and the interior paneling having a small installation depth, for which purpose a method for folding a head airbag is proposed.

pressing the flattened second section into a U-shaped opening fixing device through a clamping plate to perform U-shaped folding;
fixing a U-shaped opening fixing device with a U-shaped folded air bag through a dust cover;
and step eight, taking out the U-shaped opening fixing device provided with the safety airbag along the axial direction.
Preferably: in the fourth step, when the first section is folded, the fixing area of the safety airbag is fixed with the positioning device; the airbag is then wound around the winding core starting from the first edge.
Preferably: the winding core is composed of two semi-cylinders having a semi-circular cross section.
Preferably: the positioning device slides along the folding table.
Preferably: the folded safety air bag is pressed into a U-shaped opening fixing device in a U-shaped opening groove in the folding table by means of the clamping plate to perform U-shaped folding work.
Preferably: the card has a U-shaped cross-section.
Preferably: the second section is wrapped completely around the first section in at least one layer.
Preferably: in step two, the deployment direction of the head airbag is downward facing the occupant.
The invention also provides a head airbag comprising an inflation region having at least two mutually nested fabric layers, and a fixing region, the second section being wrapped around the first section overlapping the first edge.
Preferably: the fabric layers of the second section which are directly overlapped with each other are combined into a whole on the edge of the U-shaped opening, and the size and the number of the fabric layers are determined according to the size of the airbag which needs to be folded when being selected.
The invention has the technical effects and advantages that: compared with the prior art, the folding method of the head airbag provided by the invention has the following advantages:
by using the airbag folding method according to the invention, the cross section of the airbag is not circular, but rather oval, oblong or rectangular, compared to conventional winding methods, whereby the installation depth of the folded airbag is smaller, so that the airbag can also be inserted into a flatter housing, so that it can be installed in a flattened area between the vehicle body and the interior paneling.

Detailed Description
The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present invention will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the drawings in the embodiments of the present invention, and it is obvious that the described embodiments are only a part of the embodiments of the present invention, and not all of the embodiments. The specific embodiments described herein are merely illustrative of the invention and do not delimit the invention. All other embodiments, which can be derived by a person skilled in the art from the embodiments given herein without making any creative effort, shall fall within the protection scope of the present invention.
Example 1:
the present invention provides a method of folding a head airbag as shown in fig. 1-9, comprising a fixing zone and an opposite first edge 4, comprising the steps of:
firstly, putting a U-shaped opening fixing device 10 into a U-shaped opening groove of a folding table 12;
step two, the safety airbag 1 is deployed in a plane;
fixing the airbag fixing area 3 with the positioning device 11;
step four, clamping the first section 5 adjacent to the first edge 4 of the airbag 1 by using a winding core 8; and wrapping a second segment 6 adjacent the first segment 5 around the folded first segment 5 and to a second edge 7 adjacent the fixation zone;
step five, extracting the winding core 8; and flattening the wound second section 6, removing the positioning device 11;
pressing the flattened second section 6 into a U-shaped opening fixing device 10 through a clamping plate 9 to perform U-shaped folding;
seventhly, fixing the U-shaped opening fixing device 10 with the U-shaped folded air bag through the dust cover 2;
and step eight, taking out the U-shaped opening fixing device 10 provided with the airbag 1 along the axial direction.
In this embodiment, specifically: in the fourth step, when the first section 5 is folded, the airbag fixing area 3 is fixed with the positioning device 11; the airbag 1 is then wound around the winding core 8 starting from the first edge 4.
In this embodiment, specifically: the winding core 8 is composed of two semicylinders having a semicircular cross section.
In this embodiment, specifically: the positioning device 11 slides along the folding table 12.
In this embodiment, specifically: in step six, the folded airbag 1 is pressed into the U-open fixing device 10 in the U-open slot in the folding table 12 by means of the catch plate 9, and the U-folding work is performed.
In this embodiment, specifically: the card 9 has a U-shaped cross-section.
In this embodiment, specifically: in step four, the second section 6 is completely wound around the first section 5 in at least one layer.
In this embodiment, specifically: in step two, the deployment direction of the head airbag 1 is downward facing the occupant.
The invention also provides a head airbag comprising an inflation zone with at least two mutually nested fabric layers, and a fixing zone, the second section 6 being wound around the first section 5 overlapping the first edge 4.
In this embodiment, specifically: the fabric layers of the second section 6 which are directly overlapped with each other are combined into a whole on the U-shaped open edge, and the size and the number of the fabric layers are determined according to the size of the airbag 1 which needs to be folded when being selected; it is possible to ensure sufficient stability of the airbag 1 in the folded state.
In this embodiment: the second section 6 can be folded by means of the following steps:
starting from the first edge 4, in particular opposite the airbag fastening region 3, the airbag 1 is wound around a winding core 8, in particular with a circular cross section, up to a second edge 7; taking out the winding core 8; and flattening the wound second section 6;
the diameter of the winding core 8 is preferably selected such that the flattened first section 5 has the desired dimensions after U-folding, and furthermore, the airbag 1 can be simply adapted to different cross-sectional shapes by selecting the respective diameter of the winding core 8, and when a flatter airbag 1 is desired, for example, winding cores 8 with a larger diameter can be used, so that the width of the folded first section 5 is larger, but the height is reduced on the basis of the reduced number of layers of fabric layers.
In this embodiment: the U-fold is performed, for example: the airbag 1 is rolled in one plane until the rolled airbag 1 is located adjacent the second edge 7 of the second section 6, after which the winding core 8 is removed and the rolled second section 6 is flattened so that the second section 6 is located centrally above the U-shaped opening 13, and the catch plate 9 can be positioned, for example, in a receptacle in the surface of the tool before the airbag 1 is folded over the surface, or on the second section 6 after it has been rolled and flattened.
In this embodiment: the folded airbag 1 is fixed by the dust cover 2 so that the airbag 1 cannot be deployed during installation or transportation of the airbag 1.
In this embodiment: the airbag 1 is, for example, a head airbag 1 which is mounted in a housing between a vehicle body and a vehicle interior paneling and protects the head of a front and/or rear occupant.
Example 2:
the embodiment provides a folding method of a head airbag, comprising the following steps:
as shown in fig. 2: in step one, the U-shaped open fixture 10 is placed into the U-shaped open slot 13 of the folding station 12.
As shown in fig. 3: in step two, the airbag 1 is deployed in a planar manner on the tool-side surface, and the first section 5 is wound around the tool-side winding core 8 starting from the edge of the first edge 4 opposite the airbag fastening region 3.
As shown in fig. 4 and 5: the airbag 1 is wound clockwise around the winding core 8 up to the second edge 7 adjacent to the airbag fixing zone 3.
As shown in fig. 6: the airbag 1 is flattened, and the width and thickness of the flattened airbag 1 are controlled by controlling the diameter of the winding core 8.
The catch plate 9 is positioned in a recess provided in the surface on which the airbag 1 is folded before the first section 5 is wound around the winding core 8, where the recess is selected such that the catch plate 9 does not interfere with the winding of the first section 5 and is, for example, flush with the surface, the airbag 1 is wound in this embodiment until the winding core 8 is located centrally below the catch plate 9, the second section 6 being located centrally above the catch plate 9 and the U-shaped open slot 13 provided with the U-shaped open fixing means 10 by withdrawing the winding core 8 and subsequently collapsing the second section 6;
next, as shown in fig. 7, the snap gauge 9 is pressed in the operating direction into the U-shaped open slot 13 equipped with the U-shaped open fixture 10, so that the second section 6 is U-folded, and since the folded second section 6 is positioned in the middle above the U-shaped open slot 13, the second section 6 is folded symmetrically;
subsequently, the catch plate 9 is moved out of the U-shaped opening slot 13 counter to the operating direction, in which case the U-folded second section 6 remains in the U-shaped opening fixture 10;
then, the U-shaped opening fixing device 10 provided with the U-shaped folded airbag 1 is sleeved into the dust cover 2;
since the U-folded airbag 1 is still in the U-shaped open slot 13, the shape of the airbag 1 is fixed and the desired shape with an elongated or oval cross section is maintained;
when the second section 6 is completely rolled up, the U-shaped opening fixture 10 is removed in a final step, i.e. extracted in the axial direction, completing the folding of the airbag 1, as shown in fig. 8 and 9.
By means of the method, a rolled airbag 1 is provided, the cross section of which airbag 1 is not circular, but rather oval, oblong or rectangular, in comparison with conventional rolling methods, whereby the installation depth of the folded airbag 1 is smaller, so that the airbag 1 can also be inserted into a flatter housing.
In this embodiment: the airbag 1 is made of a flat fabric and comprises a fastening region, by means of which the airbag 1 is mounted in a fixed manner on the vehicle, and on which an inflation region is provided, via which gas can flow from the gas generator into the airbag 1, and furthermore the airbag 1 comprises a first section 5 starting from a first edge 4 opposite the fastening region and a second, wound section 6 between the first section 5 and the airbag fastening region 3.
The number of fabric layers of the second section 6 may also be arbitrarily changed according to the cross-sectional shape of the folded airbag 1, depending on the shape and size of the airbag 1. The width of the fabric layer may also be adjusted accordingly.
By means of the folded and U-folded second section 6 an elongated or oval cross-section is obtained. The airbag 1 therefore has a small installation depth, so that it can also be installed in a flat region between the vehicle body and the interior paneling.
Finally, it should be noted that: although the present invention has been described in detail with reference to the foregoing embodiments, it will be apparent to those skilled in the art that modifications may be made to the embodiments or portions thereof without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
