Fig. 1 is a schematic structural diagram of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, and fig. 2 is a schematic sectional structural diagram along a sectional line a-a' of fig. 1. Referring to fig. 1, the display panel provided in this embodiment includes a display area 10, where the display area 10 includes a first display area 11 and a light-sensing element setting area 12; referring to fig. 2, the display panel includes a substrate base 100; a pixel defining layer 200, the pixel defining layer 200 being located at one side of the substrate base plate 100; the pixel defining layer 200 includes a plurality of pixel openings 210, each pixel opening 210 includes a first pixel opening 211 and a second pixel opening 212, the first pixel opening 211 is located in the first display region 11, the second pixel opening 212 is located in the light-sensing element disposing region 12, and a sidewall of the second pixel opening 212 is a concave structure.
It can be understood that the display panel provided in the embodiment of the present invention is suitable for a display device that needs to dispose a light sensing element under a screen, where the light sensing element may be other specific light sensing elements such as a camera and an infrared detector, and the following description will take the light sensing element as the camera as an example. Because the requirement of the camera on light is high, in the prior art, a hollowed area is generally arranged at the edge or inside of a display area, the hollowed area cannot display, and the real comprehensive screen design is difficult to realize. The aperture of the existing camera for receiving light is generally arranged in a circular shape, so that the light-sensing element arrangement area 12 is exemplarily shown in fig. 1 as a circular area. In other embodiments, one or more light-sensing element arrangement regions 12 may be provided, for example, a plurality of light-sensing element arrangement regions 12 may be provided when a plurality of light-sensing elements are provided. The light sensing element disposing region 12 may be a continuous region or a discontinuous region, which may be designed according to the actual application environment, and is not limited herein. In some embodiments, the light sensing element disposing region 12 may be disposed at the edge of the display region of the display panel, or the light sensing element disposing region 12 may be disposed inside the display region of the display panel, as shown in fig. 1. For example, the light sensing element disposition region 12 may be disposed at an upper left corner, an upper right corner, or a middle region of the first display region 11. In practical applications, the specific position of the light-sensing element disposing region 12 may be designed and determined according to practical application environments, which is not limited in the embodiment of the present invention.
In a specific implementation process, the shape of the light sensing element arrangement region 12 may be set to be a regular shape, such as a rectangle, a rounded rectangle, a circle, an ellipse, etc., and the shape of the light sensing element arrangement region 12 may also be set to be an irregular shape, such as a water drop shape. Of course, in practical applications, the shape of the light sensing element disposition region 12 may be designed according to the shape of the elements disposed in the light sensing element disposition region 12, and is not limited herein.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the relative position relationship and the shape of the first display area 11 and the light-sensing element arrangement area 12 are not limited, and may be specifically set according to the screen design of the display device. Taking a mobile phone as an example, the light sensing element setting area 12 can be arranged at the upper left corner or the upper right corner of the display area, the camera is arranged at the corner, and the light sensing element setting area 12 can be used for simple and quick function services such as time display, weather and information reminding.
The display panel provided by the embodiment of the invention comprises a substrate 100, and the substrate 100 can be a rigid substrate, such as a glass substrate, or a flexible substrate, such as a polyimide substrate. The pixel defining layer 200 includes a plurality of pixel openings 210, one Light Emitting element 300 may be disposed in each pixel opening 210, and the Light Emitting element 300 may be an Organic Light-Emitting Diode (OLED). It can be understood that, in order to ensure the imaging effect of the camera, the light transmittance of the light sensing element setting area 12 is improved, optionally, the pixel density of the first display area 11 may be set to be greater than the pixel density of the light sensing element setting area 12, that is, the density of the first pixel opening 211 is greater than the density of the second pixel opening 212, so that the luminance of the light sensing element setting area 12 is lower during normal display, which affects the display effect. In this embodiment, the sidewall of the second pixel opening 212 is a concave structure, and the concave structure may be an arc surface. Referring to fig. 2, the concave structure is recessed toward the inside of the pixel defining layer 200, i.e. the second pixel opening 212 is shaped like a tight bowl, so as to improve the light extraction efficiency of the light-sensing element disposition region 12.
Fig. 2 further exemplarily shows a light-emitting schematic diagram of the light-emitting elements 300 in the first pixel opening 211 and the second pixel opening 212, a part of light emitted from the light-emitting elements 300 in the first pixel opening 211 enters the pixel defining layer 200 and cannot be emitted from the light-emitting surface of the display panel under the absorption, reflection and other actions of the film layers, and a part of light emitted from the light-emitting elements 300 in the second pixel opening 212 enters the concave structure on the sidewall of the second pixel opening 212 to be reflected and then emitted from the second pixel opening 212, so that the light-emitting efficiency of the light-emitting elements 300 is improved, the brightness reduction caused by the density reduction of the second pixel opening 212 is compensated, and the display effect of the light-sensing element installation area 12 is improved.
It should be noted that structures such as a thin film transistor, a plurality of traces, various insulating layers, and a planarization layer in the pixel driving circuit are also included between the substrate 100 and the pixel defining layer 200, which are not shown in fig. 2.
According to the technical scheme of the embodiment of the invention, the light sensing element setting area is arranged in the display area of the display panel, so that the light sensing element (such as a camera) is arranged below the display area of the display panel, and the comprehensive screen display effect is realized; the pixel opening of the pixel limiting layer limits the pixel unit of the display area, wherein the first pixel opening is located in the first display area, the second pixel opening is located in the light sensing element setting area, the side wall of the second pixel opening is of a concave structure, oblique light rays emitted by the pixel unit in the light sensing element setting area can be reflected on the side wall of the second pixel opening, and therefore the oblique light rays are emitted from the second pixel opening, the light emitting efficiency of the light sensing element setting area is increased, and the display effect of the light sensing element setting area is improved. Optionally, the sidewall of the first pixel opening 211 is a planar structure.
On the basis of the above embodiment, fig. 3 is another schematic cross-sectional structure along the cross-sectional line a-a' in fig. 1. Alternatively, referring to fig. 3, the sidewall of the first pixel opening 211 is a concave structure.
It is understood that, in other embodiments, the sidewall of the first pixel opening 211 may also be configured as a concave structure, so as to improve the light extraction efficiency of the first display region 11. It should be noted that, referring to fig. 3, in a specific implementation, the curvature radius of the sidewall concave structure of the first pixel opening 211 may be set to be larger than the curvature radius of the sidewall concave structure of the second pixel opening 212, that is, the sidewall convexity of the second pixel opening 212 is set to be larger, so as to ensure that the light extraction efficiency of the second pixel opening 212 is larger than the light extraction efficiency of the first pixel opening 211.
Fig. 4 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line a-a' of fig. 1. Referring to fig. 4, optionally, the sidewall surface of the second pixel opening 212 is provided with an anti-reflection film 213.
It is understood that by disposing the reflection increasing film on the sidewall surface of the second pixel opening 212, the reflectivity of the sidewall of the second pixel opening 212 can be increased, and the light-emitting efficiency of the light-sensing element disposing region 12 can be further improved. Optionally, the reflection increasing film 213 includes at least a first functional film layer having a refractive index greater than that of the pixel defining layer 200.
It can be understood that a quarter-wave film with a refractive index larger than that of the pixel defining layer is plated on the sidewall surface of the second pixel opening 212, and light reflected by the upper and lower surfaces of the film interferes constructively, thereby achieving the effect of increasing the reflectivity. The material of the reflection-increasing film can adopt suitable inorganic material or organic material, and the specific implementation can be selected according to actual conditions. Moreover, by setting the refractive index of the first functional layer to be greater than the refractive index of the pixel defining layer 200, light rays with a large incident angle (greater than a critical angle) can also be totally reflected at the interface between the first functional layer and the pixel defining layer 200, thereby further improving the reflectivity. In practice, it may be difficult to find a functional layer material having a refractive index much greater than that of the pixel defining layer, so in practical implementation, the reflection-increasing film may be configured as a multilayer stack structure with high refractive index and low refractive index alternating. Optionally, the reflection increasing film is not disposed on the sidewall surface of the first pixel opening.
In other embodiments, the reflection increasing film may be disposed on the sidewall surface of the first pixel opening, and the reflection increasing film on the sidewall surface of the first pixel opening may be configured to have a reflectivity smaller than that of the reflection increasing film on the sidewall surface of the second pixel opening.
Fig. 5 is a schematic view of another cross-sectional structure taken along the line a-a' in fig. 1. Referring to fig. 5, optionally, the display panel provided in this embodiment further includes: a plurality of light-emitting elements 300, the light-emitting elements 300 including a first electrode 301, a light-emitting layer 302, and a second electrode 303 laminated in this order, wherein the first electrode 301 is located between the second electrode 303 and the base substrate 100; in the second pixel opening 212, a groove structure is disposed on a surface of the first electrode 301 facing away from the substrate 100.
It is to be understood that, in the present embodiment, the first electrode 301 is a reflective electrode of the light emitting element 300, and the second electrode 203 is an emission electrode. The light emitting device 300 of the present embodiment is a top light emitting structure, and in other embodiments, it can be designed as a bottom light emitting structure. By arranging the groove structure on the surface of the first electrode 301 in the second pixel opening 212, which is away from the substrate 100, the volume or the light emitting area of the light emitting layer can be increased under the condition of the light emitting elements 300 with the same size, so that the light emitting brightness of the light emitting elements 300 in the light sensing element arrangement area 12 is improved, and the display effect is improved.
With continued reference to fig. 5, optionally, in the second pixel opening 212, the light-emitting layer 302 is recessed against a side of the first electrode 301 facing away from the substrate 100, and the second electrode 303 is recessed against a side of the light-emitting layer 302 facing away from the first electrode 301.
By disposing the light-emitting layer 302 and the second electrode 303 to be recessed downward, the light-emitting area of the light-emitting layer 302 in the second pixel opening 212 is larger than the light-emitting area of the light-emitting layer 302 in the first pixel opening 211, so as to improve the brightness of the light-emitting element 300 in the light-sensing element disposing region 12. Further, the concave curvature of the light emitting layer 302 in the second pixel opening 212 may be configured to match the curvature of the opening sidewall, so that more oblique light rays incident on the opening sidewall may be reflected and emitted, thereby improving the light emitting efficiency of the light sensing element disposing region 12 and enhancing the display effect. Alternatively, the curvature of the recess of the light emitting layer 302 in the second pixel opening 212 is set to be equal to the curvature of the opening sidewall.
Fig. 6 is a schematic cross-sectional view taken along line a-a' of fig. 1. Referring to fig. 6, optionally, in the second pixel opening 212, the light emitting layer 302 abuts on a side of the first electrode 301 facing away from the substrate 100, wherein a surface of the side of the light emitting layer 302 facing away from the first electrode 301 is a planar structure.
By arranging the groove structure at the side of the first electrode 301 departing from the substrate base plate 100 in the second pixel opening 212 and adopting a planar structure at the surface of the light-emitting layer 302 departing from the first electrode 301, the light-emitting area of the light-emitting layer 302 in the second pixel opening 212 can be larger than the light-emitting area of the light-emitting layer 302 of the light-emitting element 300 in the first pixel opening 211, so that the light-emitting brightness of the light-sensing element arrangement area 12 is improved, and the display effect is enhanced.
Optionally, with continued reference to fig. 5 or 6, the groove structure comprises a cambered surface structure.
It is understood that the groove structure of the first electrode 301 may be formed by etching, and the etching speed of different regions is controlled during etching, so as to form a curved surface structure. The concave grooves are arranged to be arc-shaped and can be matched with the concave structures on the side walls of the second pixel openings 212, so that light emitted by the light-emitting layer 302 can be emitted from the openings after being reflected by the side walls.
In the embodiments shown in fig. 5 and 6, the first electrode 301 is disposed below the pixel defining layer 200, and in other embodiments, the first electrode 301 may be disposed above the pixel defining layer 200. Illustratively, fig. 7 and 8 are schematic views of still another cross-sectional structure taken along the cross-sectional line a-a' of fig. 1, respectively. Referring to fig. 7 and 8, the first electrode 301 is disposed above the pixel defining layer 200, wherein the first electrode 301 in fig. 8 completely covers the pixel opening 210 of the pixel defining layer 200, so that the first electrode 301 can also function as an anti-reflection film, and the process difficulty is reduced.
It should be noted that fig. 7 and 8 illustrate that the light-emitting layer 302 and the second electrode 303 in the second pixel opening 212 are provided with the recesses only schematically, and in other embodiments, the upper surfaces of the light-emitting layer 302 and the second electrode 303 may be provided with a planar structure. When the first electrode 301 completely covers the pixel opening 210 of the pixel defining layer 200, an insulating layer (for example, a thin film encapsulation layer structure may be used as the insulating layer to simplify the process) needs to be disposed at two ends of the second electrode 303 to prevent the first electrode 301 and the second electrode 303 from being directly electrically connected.
Fig. 9 is a schematic flow chart of a manufacturing method of a display panel according to an embodiment of the present invention, where the manufacturing method provided in this embodiment is used to manufacture the display panel provided in the above embodiment, the display panel includes a display area, the display area includes a first display area and a light-sensing element setting area, and the manufacturing method provided in this embodiment includes:
step S110, a substrate is provided.
The substrate may be a rigid substrate, such as a glass substrate, or a flexible substrate, such as a polyimide substrate, and the specific material of the substrate in this embodiment is not limited.
Step S120, forming a pixel defining layer on one side of the base substrate.
It is understood that before the formation of the pixel defining layer, the thin film transistor, the plurality of traces, various insulating layers, and the planarization layer in the pixel driving circuit are also formed between the substrate and the pixel defining layer, and the specific structure and process can be performed with reference to the steps in the prior art.
Step S130 is to form a plurality of pixel openings on the pixel defining layer, where the pixel openings include a first pixel opening and a second pixel opening, the first pixel opening is located in the first display area, and the second pixel opening is located in the light-sensing element setting area.
Step S140 is to form a concave structure on the sidewall of the second pixel opening.
The concave structure is sunken towards the inside of the pixel limiting layer, namely, the second pixel opening is shaped like a tight bowl, so that the light emitting efficiency of the light sensing element setting area is improved.
According to the display panel prepared by the preparation method provided by the embodiment of the invention, the light sensing element setting area is arranged in the display area of the display panel, so that the light sensing element (such as a camera) is arranged below the display area of the display panel, and the comprehensive screen display effect is realized; the pixel opening of the pixel limiting layer limits the pixel unit of the display area, wherein the first pixel opening is located in the first display area, the second pixel opening is located in the light sensing element setting area, the side wall of the second pixel opening is of a concave structure, oblique light rays emitted by the pixel unit in the light sensing element setting area can be reflected on the side wall of the second pixel opening, and therefore the oblique light rays are emitted from the second pixel opening, the light emitting efficiency of the light sensing element setting area is increased, and the display effect of the light sensing element setting area is improved.
Optionally, forming a concave structure on a sidewall of the second pixel opening includes:
step S141, forming photoresist on the surface of one side, away from the substrate, of the pixel defining layer;
step S142, utilizing a mask plate to carry out exposure and development treatment on the photoresist;
step S143, etching the pixel limiting layer, and forming a concave structure in the second pixel opening;
the mask plate comprises a plurality of preset light through holes corresponding to the second pixel openings, and the transmittance of the preset light through holes is gradually reduced from the center to the edge.
