Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the accompanying drawings.
Referring to fig. 1 to 3, a display method according to an embodiment of the present invention is applied to an electronic terminal having a side display screen. The electronic terminal comprises a main display screen, a rear cover and a side edge. Wherein the side edges are used for connecting the main display and the back cover. The side comprises a side display screen. The display method comprises the following steps:
s10: detecting the orientation of a main display screen of the electronic terminal; and
s20: when the main display is oriented in a first direction, the side display is controlled to be turned on to display a message when the message enters.
The display system 100 of the embodiment of the invention is used for the electronic terminal 1000 with a side display screen. The display system 100 includes a first detection module 10 and a control module 20. The display method of the embodiment of the present invention can be implemented by the display system 100 of the embodiment of the present invention, and is applied to the electronic terminal 1000 having a side display screen. Alternatively, the first detection module 10 is used for detecting the orientation of the main display of the electronic terminal 1000. The control module 20 is used to control the side display to turn on to display a message when there is a careful entry when the main display is oriented in a first direction.
Specifically, the electronic terminal 1000 according to the embodiment of the present invention includes a main display (not shown), a back cover, a side 200, an inertia measurement unit (not shown), and a processor, wherein the side 200 is used for connecting the main display and the back cover, and the side 200 includes a side display 210. The first detection module may be an inertial measurement unit and the control module 20 may be a processor. The processor may be a processor of the electronic terminal, or may be a processor for processing the incoming information independently, which is not limited herein. The electronic terminal 1000 may be a mobile phone, a tablet computer, or the like having the side display screen 210.
In some social scenes, such as a meeting or similar activities, in order to keep private or present politeness, a user may flip an electronic terminal such as a mobile phone on a desktop, that is, the main display screen faces the desktop, so that when information enters, the user cannot conveniently view the information in time, and thus important information may be missed.
In the embodiment of the present invention, the electronic terminal 1000 includes a main display and a side display 210, and the main display and the side display 210 can be used for displaying related information together or separately. In some examples, the processor may continuously monitor the incoming call or other information of the electronic terminal 1000 in the background, and when there is an incoming call, determine the orientation of the main display by obtaining the output of the inertial measurement unit, specifically, the inertial measurement unit may be one or a combination of an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope and a gravity sensor, calculate the orientation of the electronic terminal 1000 by measuring the attitude angles of the electronic terminal 1000 in three axes x, y and z, and further determine the orientation of the main display. When the main display screen is oriented in a first direction, i.e. the direction opposite to the desktop, or the electronic terminal 1000 is flipped over on the desktop, the side display screen 210 is controlled to start displaying the incoming call or other information. The user can conveniently check the information. In other examples, the main display orientation may also be determined when a message enters, which saves power consumption compared to the example of continuously determining the main display orientation.
In summary, in the display method, the display system 100 and the electronic terminal 1000 according to the embodiments of the present invention, when it is inconvenient to directly view the message through the main display screen in some special social occasions, the message is displayed through the side display screen 210, which is convenient for the user to view and improves the user experience.
In certain embodiments, step S20 includes the steps of:
the main display is turned off or remains turned off.
In some embodiments, the step of closing or keeping the main display closed may be performed by the control module 20, or the control module 20 may be configured to close or keep the main display closed.
In some embodiments, the step of turning off or maintaining off the main display may be performed by or used by a processor.
It can be understood that when judging that the main display screen faces the first direction, also be towards the desktop, can regard that the user is inconvenient to look over the message that gets into through the main display screen this moment, show through side display screen 210 and can satisfy the user and in time look over the demand that gets into the message, the main display screen then need not to open and shows, one can reduce electronic terminal 1000's consumption, two can prolong the life-span of main display screen.
When the main display screen is in the lighting state due to other operations, the main display screen is closed, and when the main display screen is originally in the closing state, the main display screen is kept closed.
In some embodiments, the electronic terminal includes a light-sensing element disposed on the same side of the main display, and the step S20 includes the steps of:
when the main display screen faces to the first direction, detecting whether the light sensing element is shielded;
when the light sensing element is shielded, the side display screen is controlled to be opened to display the message when the message enters.
Referring to fig. 4, in some embodiments, the display system 100 further includes a second detection module 30. The step of detecting whether the light sensing element is blocked when the main display is oriented to the first direction can be implemented by the second detecting module 30. The step of controlling the side display 210 to be turned on to display the message when the message enters when the light sensing element is blocked can be realized by the control module 20. Alternatively, the second detecting module 30 is used for detecting whether the light-sensing element is blocked when the main display is facing the first direction, and the control module 20 is used for controlling the side display 210 to be turned on to display a message when the light-sensing element is blocked.
In some embodiments, the electronic terminal 1000 includes light-sensing elements on the same side of the main display. The step of detecting whether the light sensing element is blocked when the main display is oriented to the first direction and controlling the side display to be turned on to display the message when the message enters when the light sensing element is blocked can be realized by the processor. Alternatively, the processor is configured to detect whether the light-sensing element is blocked when the main display is oriented in the first direction, and control the side display 210 to turn on the message when the message enters when the light-sensing element is blocked.
The second detection module 30 may be a processor of the electronic terminal 1000 or a separate processor.
It will be appreciated that in some usage scenarios, the main display is oriented in a first direction but does not make contact with an object such as a desktop, for example, the user may use the electronic terminal 1000 while lying down, such as a scenario in which the electronic terminal 1000 is being placed facing a desktop. In order to prevent the processor from making a false determination, when the main display screen is detected to face the first direction, whether the light sensing element is blocked or not is detected, and the determination is further made. The light sensing element can be a camera, and the light sensing element arranged on the same side with the main display screen is also a front-facing camera.
Specifically, during detection, the front-facing camera may be turned on in the background and acquire an image of the environment, and generally, when the electronic terminal 1000 is completely turned over on the desk, the front-facing camera is shielded and cannot receive visible light, and the acquired image is a black image.
Thus, the state of the electronic terminal 1000 is accurately determined by combining the images acquired by the front camera, so as to control the opening and closing of the main display screen and the side display screen 210, and to display the incoming messages for the user.
Referring to fig. 5, in some embodiments, step S20 further includes the steps of:
s21: determining the relative direction of a user and the electronic terminal;
s22: determining a target side display screen according to the relative direction;
s23: and the control target side display screen is opened to display the message when the message enters.
In some embodiments, the display system 100 further includes a first determination module 40 and a second determination module 50. The step S21 may be implemented by the first determination module 40, the step S22 may be implemented by the second determination module 50, and the step S23 may be implemented by the control module 20. In other words, the first determining module 40 is configured to determine a relative direction between the user and the electronic terminal, the second determining module 50 is configured to determine a target side display according to the relative direction, and the control module 20 is configured to control the target side display to be turned on to display a message when the message enters.
In certain embodiments, steps S21, S22, and S23 may be implemented by a processor. Or, the processor is configured to determine a relative direction between the user and the electronic terminal 1000, determine a target side display screen according to the relative direction, and control the target side display screen to be turned on to display a message.
The first determination module 40 and the second determination module 50 may be a processor of the electronic terminal 1000 or separate processors.
It will be appreciated that electronic terminal 1000, when placed upside down, will typically have one side facing the user and when the side is at an angle to the user, will include two sides facing the user. In this case, the information can be effectively displayed by opening the side display screen opposite to the user.
Specifically, the attitude of the electronic terminal 1000 can be determined by detecting the tilt angle of placement by detecting the relative orientation of the electronic terminal 1000 to the user based on an inertial measurement unit of the electronic terminal 1000, such as one or a combination of an acceleration sensor, a gyroscope, and a gravity sensor. For example, a two-dimensional plane coordinate system may be established, the relative direction between the electronic terminal 1000 and the user is determined according to the included angles between the four sides and the positive direction of the plane coordinate system, that is, the side facing the user or the side closest to the user, and the side display screen of the side is determined to be the target side display screen for starting the display message.
In some examples, the method may also be implemented by using some hardware, for example, providing an infrared light sensor at each side of the electronic terminal 1000, measuring a distance between the electronic terminal 1000 and the user by the infrared light sensor, thereby determining the relative direction and the target side display screen, and controlling the target side display screen to display information.
In other examples, proximity sensors are respectively arranged on the sides of the electronic terminal, and the relative direction of the electronic terminal 1000 and the user is determined through a light intensity signal of the proximity sensors, so that a target side display screen is determined to control turning on and displaying messages.
In some embodiments, the side edges include a first side edge, a second side edge opposite to the first side edge, a third side edge, and a fourth side edge opposite to the third side edge, the first side edge, the second side edge, the third side edge, and the fourth side edge respectively include a corresponding fingerprint sensor and a side edge display screen, and the step S21 includes the steps of:
determining a side edge coupled with a first finger fingerprint of a user;
the relative direction is determined from the side coupled with the user's first finger fingerprint.
Step S22 includes the steps of:
and determining a side display screen corresponding to the side coupled with the first finger fingerprint of the user as a target side display screen.
In some embodiments, the steps of determining the side coupled with the user's first finger print and determining the relative direction from the side coupled with the user's first finger print may be performed by the first determination module 40. The step of determining the side display corresponding to the side to which the first finger print of the user is coupled as the target side display may be performed by the second determination module 50. Alternatively, the first determining module 40 is configured to determine a side coupled to the first fingerprint of the user and determine the relative direction according to the side coupled to the first fingerprint of the user. The second determining module 50 is configured to determine a side display corresponding to the side coupled with the first finger print of the user as a target side display.
In some embodiments, the side 200 includes a first side, a second side opposite the first side, a third side, and a fourth side opposite the third side, the first side, the second side, the third side, and the fourth side each including a corresponding fingerprint sensor and a side display. The steps of determining a side coupled to the first finger print of the user, determining a relative orientation based on the side coupled to the first finger print of the user, and determining a side display corresponding to the side coupled to the first finger print of the user as the target side display may be performed by or used to determine the side coupled to the first finger print of the user, determine the relative orientation based on the side coupled to the first finger print of the user, and determine the side display corresponding to the side coupled to the first finger print of the user as the target side display.
Referring to fig. 6, specifically, when the electronic terminal 1000 is turned upside down on a desk, it is common practice for a user to couple a thumb with one of the side display screens and couple the other four fingers with the rear cover. The first finger may be the thumb, or a finger that the user is accustomed to touching the screen first, typically the side that the user touches when taking the phone upside down on a table is usually the side closest to the user. When the side is provided with a fingerprint sensor and the user is coupled with the fingerprint sensor, the relative direction of the user and the electronic terminal 1000 can be determined, and then the target side display screen can be determined. The fingerprint sensor may be a capacitive fingerprint sensor, an optical fingerprint sensor, or an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and is not particularly limited. In order to facilitate detection, the contact area of the fingerprint sensor can be increased as much as possible, and meanwhile, the fingerprint sensor can be arranged under the screen in order to guarantee the display area of the side display screen.
Therefore, the corresponding side display screen can be flexibly controlled to display according to the coupling gesture of the user and the electronic terminal 1000.
Further, in certain embodiments, step S23 includes the steps of:
and controlling the non-target side display screen to be closed or kept closed.
In one embodiment, the step of controlling the non-target side display to close or remain closed may be performed by the control module 20.
In some embodiments, the step of controlling the non-target side display to be turned off or kept turned off may be implemented by the processor 300, or the processor may be configured to control the non-target side display to be turned off or kept turned off.
It can be understood that the target side display screen displays the entered message to meet the requirement of the user for obtaining the entered message, and the non-target side display screen does not need to be opened, so that the power consumption of the electronic terminal 1000 can be reduced, and the service life of the side display screen can be prolonged.
When the non-target side display screen is in a lighting state due to other operations, the non-target side display screen is closed, and when the non-target side display screen is originally in a closed state, the non-target side display screen is kept closed.
