Description

Oculink electronic device with flexible circuit board
Technical Field
The present invention relates to electronic devices, and particularly to an Oculink electronic device with a flexible circuit board.
Background
In recent years, Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCI-E or PCIe) has been widely adopted in the computer-related field, which has a fast speed and is sufficient to replace various existing internal buses, and meanwhile, the Peripheral Component Interconnect Express (PCI-E or PCIe) further supports Hot plug (Hot swap) and has better portability and modularization potential.
The Optical Copper wire connection (Oculink) interface based on the peripheral component interconnect express standard 4.0 uses a Copper cable as a main connection medium, provides a single channel with a bandwidth of 8 gigabits per second (8Gb/s), supports four channels, and can achieve a total bandwidth of 32 gigabits per second (32Gb/s), has a small volume, and can provide standard connection for connecting a future small or light and thin platform with an external device so as to increase internal expandability and external diversification.
However, the optical copper wire connection interface still has the disadvantage that improvement is needed. Most of traditional optical copper line connection interfaces still use the mode of connector and cable to connect, and it is with high costs not only, whole length is difficult to reduce, also causes the difficulty in the installation. When a less protective device, such as an adapter card without a housing or a hard disk that is extremely sensitive to shock, is to be connected to the optical copper connection interface connector, such connection would result in the device itself being exposed and only partially suspended in the air by the connector, resulting in instability in use.
Therefore, there is a need for an improved Oculink electronic device having a flexible circuit board that can solve the drawbacks of the prior art to improve stability, and can be used in different installation situations to reduce the required space and improve protection.
Disclosure of Invention
It is a primary objective of the present invention to provide an Oculink electronic device with a flexible circuit board, which solves and improves at least one of the disadvantages of the prior art.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide an Oculink electronic device having a flexible circuit board, wherein the flexible circuit board extends from the first rigid circuit board and the second rigid circuit board, so as to reduce the assembly steps and the overall length, and the flexible circuit board provides the rotatable characteristic of the electronic device, thereby reducing the required space.
Another objective of the present invention is to provide an Oculink electronic device with a flexible circuit board, which can improve the versatility of the existing product by placing the electronic components on the second rigid circuit board. In addition, the bendable component and the first shell which can rotate relative to the second shell can realize the rotating function and effectively protect the internal electronic components, so that the stability and the protectiveness of the product are improved, and the interference between the internal electronic components and other surrounding electronic components can be avoided.
In order to achieve the above objectives, a preferred embodiment of the present invention provides an Oculink electronic device having a flexible circuit board, which includes an Oculink connector, a first rigid circuit board, a second rigid circuit board and a flexible circuit board. The first rigid circuit board is connected with the Oculink connector; a flexible circuit board extending from the first rigid circuit board and the second rigid circuit board and disposed between the first rigid circuit board and the second rigid circuit board.
The present invention provides an Oculink electronic device with a flexible circuit board, wherein the flexible circuit board extends from the first rigid circuit board and the second rigid circuit board, so as to reduce the assembly steps, greatly shorten the overall length, provide the rotatable characteristic of the electronic device, and reduce the required space.

As will be realized, the invention is capable of other and different modifications and its several details are capable of modifications in various obvious respects, all without departing from the scope of the invention, and the description and drawings are to be regarded as illustrative in nature, and not as restrictive.
Referring to fig. 1A and fig. 1B, fig. 1A is a schematic structural diagram of an Oculink electronic device with a flexible circuit board according to an embodiment of the present invention, and fig. 1B is a top view of the Oculink electronic device with the flexible circuit board shown in fig. 1A. As shown in fig. 1A and 1B, according to an embodiment of the present invention, the Oculink electronic device 1 with a flexible circuit board of the present invention includes an Oculink connector 11, a first rigid circuit board 12, a second rigid circuit board 13 and a flexible circuit board 14, it should be noted that the Oculink connector 11 herein refers to any connector conforming to the Oculink specification and the communication protocol, and of course, the Oculink electronic device 1 with a flexible circuit board is also an electronic device conforming to the Oculink specification and the communication protocol. For example, the Oculink connector 11 may be a Nano-Pitch I/OTM manufactured by Molex, LLC having 42 pins, but not limited thereto. Wherein, the first rigid circuit board 12 is connected with the Oculink connector 11. The flexible circuit board 14 extends from the first rigid circuit board 12 and the second rigid circuit board 13, and is disposed between the first rigid circuit board 12 and the second rigid circuit board 13. In some embodiments, first rigid circuit board 12, second rigid circuit board 13, and flexible circuit board 14 can be manufactured together by the same printed circuit board process, but flexible circuit board 14 is primarily used for printing traces, and no rigid board or only a portion of the rigid board is stacked. For example, if the first rigid circuit board 12 and the second rigid circuit board 13 are printed circuit boards stacked in 6 layers, the Flexible circuit board 14 may be a circuit or a circuit row implemented with flexibility by performing only 2 layers of processes in 6 layers, and the Flexible circuit board 14 may also be referred to as a Flexible Printed Circuit (FPC), but not limited thereto. Therefore, since the first rigid circuit board 12, the second rigid circuit board 13 and the flexible circuit board 14 are formed together, and naturally, assembly is not required, the present invention not only can reduce the assembly steps, but also can greatly shorten the overall length because a conventional cable is not required, and simultaneously, can provide the rotation characteristic, thereby achieving the effect of reducing the required installation space.
