Description

Connecting circuit of display panel light-emitting device
Technical Field
The invention relates to the technical field of display, in particular to a connecting circuit of a light-emitting device of a display panel.
Background
Compared with an LCD (Liquid crystal display), an AMOLED (Active-matrix organic light-emitting diode) display panel has the unique advantage of self-luminescence, and has the competitive advantages of low energy consumption, high contrast, wide color gamut, and being foldable, and has become the current mainstream display panel.
However, the current large-sized panel has a technical problem of panel uniformity reduction caused by wire potential drop (IR drop), and the existing schemes designed for reducing the wire potential drop all have large negative effects, such as increasing the panel power consumption, increasing the cost of the driving IC, and the like.
Fig. 1 is a schematic diagram of the wire resistance of the light emitting devices of the conventional AMOLED display panel, where the resolution of the display panel is m × n, where m represents the number of rows of the light emitting device array and n represents the number of columns of the light emitting device array. As shown in fig. 1, the display panel includes a light emitting device EL, a first conductive line Wa, a second conductive line Wb, a first potential terminal VDD, and a second potential terminal VSS, where Ra represents a resistance value of the first conductive line Wa at a specific position, and Rb represents a resistance value of the second conductive line Wb at a specific position. As can be seen from the figure, among the light emitting devices EL in the same row, the light emitting device EL farther from the first potential terminal VDD and the second potential terminal VSS has a larger wire potential drop than the light emitting device EL closer to the first potential terminal VDD and the second potential terminal VSS. For example, the wire potential drop of the light emitting device EL11 is caused by the resistance R11a and the resistance R11b, and the wire potential drop of the EL12 is caused by the resistance R12a and the resistance R12b in addition to the resistance R11a and the resistance R11b, so that the wire potential drop of the light emitting device EL12 is larger than that of the light emitting device EL11, and similarly, the wire potential drop of the EL13 is larger than that of the EL 12. Therefore, when the distance between the first potential terminal VDD and the second potential terminal VSS increases, the wire potential drop of the light emitting device EL also increases, which results in a larger voltage difference between the two ends of the light emitting device EL, and thus causes uneven display.

Detailed Description
The following description of the various embodiments refers to the accompanying drawings that illustrate specific embodiments in which the invention may be practiced. The directional terms mentioned in the present invention, such as [ upper ], [ lower ], [ front ], [ rear ], [ left ], [ right ], [ inner ], [ outer ], [ side ], are only referring to the directions of the attached drawings. Accordingly, the directional terms used are used for explanation and understanding of the present invention, and are not used for limiting the present invention. In the drawings, elements having similar structures are denoted by the same reference numerals.
The present invention is directed to the technical problem of the reduced uniformity of the panel caused by the wire potential drop faced by the current large-sized panel, and this embodiment can solve this defect.
Fig. 2 is a schematic diagram of a connection circuit of the light emitting devices of the display panel according to the present invention, and fig. 2 shows only one light emitting device for the sake of clarity of the connection circuit of the present invention. The connecting circuit of the display panel light-emitting devices comprises a plurality of light-emitting devices EL, a plurality of first connecting wires Wa and a plurality of second connecting wires Wb, wherein each light-emitting device EL is provided with a first end a and a second end b; a first potential terminal VDD provided on the first side S1 of the display panel and electrically connected to the first end a of the light emitting device EL via the first wire Wa; and a second potential terminal VSS disposed on a second side S2 opposite to the first side S1 and electrically connected to a second end b of the light emitting device EL through the second wire Wb. In one embodiment, the first potential terminal VDD is a power terminal, the second potential terminal VSS is a ground terminal, and the plurality of light emitting devices EL are located in a same row of the light emitting device array. Ra represents a resistance value of the first wire Wa in a specific length, and Rb represents a resistance value of the second wire Wb in a specific length. La represents a length of the first wire Wa from the first potential terminal VDD to the first terminal a of the light emitting device EL, and Lb represents a length of the second wire Wb from the second potential terminal VSS to the second terminal b of the light emitting device EL. As shown in fig. 2, in an embodiment, the first terminal a of the light emitting device EL is an anode, the second terminal b of the light emitting device EL is a cathode, and the voltage difference between the two terminals of the light emitting device EL is equal to
Vel=VDD-I*(Ra+Rb)-VSS
Wherein I is a path current, and the product can be obtained after further refinement
Vel=VDD-I*Rsa*La-I*Rsb*Lb-VSS,L=La+Lb
Wherein Rsa and Rsb are resistance values per unit length of the first conductive line Wa and the second conductive line Wb, respectively. As can be seen from the equation, the reason for the difference in voltage across the light emitting devices EL of the respective pixels in the panel is the difference in resistance value per unit length of the first and second conductive lines Wa and Wb, and the difference in length of the first and second conductive lines Wa and Wb in the current path for the respective light emitting devices EL. Therefore, in one embodiment, the first conductive line Wa and the second conductive line Wb have the same resistance value per unit length, and the formula evolves
Vel=VDD-I*L*Rs-VSS
In addition, since the first potential terminal VDD is disposed on a first side of the display panel and the second potential terminal VSS is disposed on a second side opposite to the first side, in one embodiment, the sum of the lengths of the first conducting line Wa and the second conducting line Wb corresponding to each light emitting device EL is the same. Since the sum of the lengths of the first wire Wa and the second wire Wb is the same for each light emitting device EL, and the first wire Wa and the second wire Wb have the same resistivity, the Vel values of the pixels are the same, the influence of the wire potential drop is eliminated, and the display uniformity is improved. Therefore, by disposing the first potential terminal VDD and the second potential terminal VSS on opposite sides of the display panel, the influence of the wire potential drop can be eliminated, and the display uniformity can be improved compared to the conventional design in which the potential terminals are disposed on the same side of the display panel.
Fig. 3 is a schematic diagram of traces of a connection circuit of a light emitting device of a display panel on the display panel according to the present invention, where the display panel includes a first side S1, a second side S2, a third side S3 and a fourth side S4, the first side S1 and the second side S2 are respectively located at the lower side and the upper side of the display panel, and the third side S3 and the fourth side S4 are respectively located at the left side and the right side of the display panel. The connection circuit of the display panel light emitting device further comprises a Chip On Film (COF) arranged on the first side S1; and peripheral wires VSSr disposed on the first side S1, the second side S2, the third side S3, and the fourth side S4. In one embodiment, the peripheral trace VSSr is led out from the COF, enters the second side S2 through the third side S3 or the fourth side S4, and is electrically connected to the second potential terminal VSS. In one embodiment, the first potential terminal VDD is electrically connected to the COF. Therefore, for the light emitting device EL of any pixel on the display panel, the sum of the lengths of the first conducting wire Wa and the second conducting wire Wb is the same, and the resistivities of the first conducting wire Wa and the second conducting wire Wb are the same, so that the Vel values of the pixels are the same, the influence of the potential drop of the conducting wires is eliminated, and the display uniformity is improved.
Has the advantages that: the connecting circuit of the display panel light-emitting device provided by the invention adopts the design that the first potential end point and the second potential end point are respectively arranged at the two opposite sides of the display panel, so that the sum of the current path lengths of each light-emitting device is equal, and further, the two ends of the light-emitting devices of all pixels in the panel have consistent voltage drop due to the same wire potential drop, thereby solving the technical problem that the uniformity of the panel is reduced due to the wire potential drop of the current large-size panel.
In summary, although the present invention has been described with reference to the preferred embodiments, the above-described preferred embodiments are not intended to limit the present invention, and those skilled in the art can make various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention, therefore, the scope of the present invention shall be determined by the appended claims.
