Description

Ornament with movable display device
Technical Field
The invention relates to a trim part for a vehicle cabin, said trim part having at least one support surface and at least one movable display device, the movable display device defining a movable display area, the movable display device being movable relative to the support surface between a stowed position in which a surface of the movable display area visible from outside the trim part is reduced or zero, and at least one deployed position in which a surface of the movable display area visible from outside the trim part is larger than a surface of the movable display area visible from outside the trim part in the stowed position.
Background
In the context of so-called "automatic" vehicles, in which the driver intervention for driving the vehicle is reduced, even almost zero, the cabin layout can be adjustable to increase the humanization of the vehicle. Thus, it may be considered to display information about the driving of the vehicle or its geographical positioning, alternatively it may be considered to control some vehicle functions at other locations than the conventional dashboard provided in front of the driver.
Disclosure of Invention
One of the objects of the present invention is to propose a trim piece for a vehicle cabin that allows integrating a plurality of functions, one of which is an integrated display device.
To this end, the invention relates to a vehicle trim part of the aforementioned type, in which the movable display device is carried by an arm movable between the stowed position and the deployed position, the movable display device being movable in rotation relative to the arm.
In the deployed position, the arm may bring the display device to a position in which the display device extends within the view of one or more occupants of the vehicle, and the display device may be rotated relative to the arm to improve the visibility of the display area. Accordingly, the display device may be positioned in the cabin of the vehicle in a humanization manner, and may be used as an instrument panel instead of a conventional instrument panel provided on the instrument panel of the vehicle.
The following other optional features are employed according to the trim piece according to the invention, alone or in any combination technically feasible:
the arm is mounted so as to be slidable with respect to the support surface along a deployment path, between a stowed position and a deployed position, the axis of rotation of the mobile display device being substantially perpendicular to a tangent of said deployment path;
-the deployment path extends along a curve;
-the mobile display device is mobile in rotation between a portrait (portrait) position, in which it extends along the arm, and a scenery (page) position, in which it extends substantially perpendicular to the arm;
the trim piece further has a fixed display defining a fixed display area, the fixed display extending proud of the support surface such that the fixed display area is visible from outside the trim piece, the arm and the movable display being slidable along a lower surface of the fixed display opposite the fixed display area such that in a stowed position of the movable display at least a portion of the movable display area of the movable display is covered by the fixed display area of the fixed display;
in the stowed position of the active display device, the active display area is completely covered by the fixed display area;
-the movable display device and the arm are movable between a stowed position and a deployed position relative to a socket arranged in the trim piece such that the arm moves out of said socket when moving from the stowed position to the deployed position;
the trim piece further has a container defining a storage space extending below the support surface, the container being movable relative to the support surface between a closed position in which the storage space is closed by the support surface and at least one open position in which at least a portion of the container is separated from the support surface, the storage space being usable;
-the trim piece forms a central console of the vehicle cabin, which extends between at least two seats of the vehicle;
the active display device is movable in a plurality of deployed positions in which the visible active display area surface is larger or smaller.
Drawings
Other aspects and advantages of the invention will become apparent upon reading the following description, given by way of example, and with reference to the accompanying drawings in which:

Detailed Description
Herein, the term "longitudinal" is defined in terms of the front-rear direction of the vehicle, the term "transverse" is defined in terms of the width of the vehicle, and the term "height" is defined in terms of the height of the vehicle.
A vehicle seat 1 is described with reference to the accompanying drawings, the seat being for placement in a vehicle cabin for receiving one or more passengers of the vehicle. The vehicle is, for example, a motor vehicle. However, of course, the present invention is applicable to any type of vehicle. The seat 1 is mounted on a vehicle floor, the orientation of the seat relative to the floor being changeable, for example, as will be described later.
In general, the seat 1 has a seat portion 2 on which a passenger sits and a backrest 4 on which the back of the passenger can lean. The position of the seat 1 is adjustable in order to change its position in the cabin, for example to move the seat away from or towards the dashboard of the vehicle. For this purpose, the seat part 2 of the seat 1 is mounted, for example, so as to be movable in translation on a rail which is fastened to the vehicle floor and extends in the longitudinal direction, as is known per se. Thus, the entire seat 1 can be moved in the longitudinal direction by adjusting the position of the seat 2 relative to the guide rail. Also typically, the inclination of the seat 2 and/or backrest 4 is adjustable. Accordingly, the angle between the seat 2 and the longitudinal direction, and/or the angle between the backrest 4 and the vehicle height direction can be adjusted so as to change the inclination of the seat according to the comfort of the passenger. According to one embodiment, the inclination of the seat 2 and backrest 4 can be adjusted independently of each other according to one operating mode, while the inclination of the seat 2 and backrest 4 can be adjusted synchronously according to another operating mode. Thus, according to one mode of operation, the user can adjust the inclination of the seat 2 accordingly without changing the inclination of the backrest 4, and adjust the inclination of the backrest 4 without changing the inclination of the seat 2. According to another operating mode, a change in the inclination of the seat 2, respectively the backrest 4, results in a corresponding change in the backrest 4, respectively the seat 2.
According to one embodiment, the seat 1 is also mounted so as to be pivotable relative to the floor to allow the seat orientation to be determined relative to the other seats of the vehicle. Thus, during the automatic driving phase of the vehicle, in which the driver does not intervene, the seat 1 can for example turn to the other seat, whereas during the manual driving phase the seat can turn to the windscreen. For this purpose, the seat 1 can be moved rotationally about an axis a extending approximately perpendicular to the floor, i.e. in the height direction, for example.
Thus, the position and orientation of the seat 1, its seat 2 and its backrest 4 are adjustable in the vehicle cabin.
The seat 2 of the seat 1 has at least one seat 6, for example a finished seat cushion. The seat 6 defines a receiving surface 8 for receiving a seat occupant, i.e. for seating the occupant when the seat is mounted in the seat 1.
The seat 2 is delimited in the longitudinal direction by a rear edge 10, a front edge 12 and in the transverse direction by two side edges 14. The rear edge 10 extends near the backrest 4 and the front edge 12 forms a free edge of the seat 2 opposite the rear edge 10. Thus, when an occupant sits on the seat 1, his back rests on the backrest 4 near the rear edge 10, his thighs rest on the receiving surface 8, and his knees are outside the receiving surface 8 near the front edge 12. Side edges 14 extend between the rear edge 10 and the front edge 12 on both sides of the receiving surface 8.
As shown in fig. 1, two seats 1 are arranged side by side with each other, for example, in the lateral direction, a space separating the two seats.
At least the trim piece 16 is arranged in the cabin. The trim 16 extends, for example, along one of the side edges 14 of the seat 1, for example in the space between the two seats. Thus, according to this embodiment, the trim piece 16 is a central console of the vehicle, extending between the two front seats of the vehicle. However, of course, the invention is applicable to other types of trim, such as seat armrests, rear consoles arranged at the rear of a vehicle, and the like. The trim piece 16 defines a bearing surface 17, which is formed, for example, by an upper surface of the trim piece 16. The support surface 17 enables, for example, an occupant of a seat adjacent to the trim piece 16 to rest his elbow and his forearm on the support surface 17. In a variant or as a complement, at least a portion of the bearing surface 17 may be shaped for receiving an article, thus forming a pouch.
The trim piece 16 according to the invention also has an active display device 18 defining a display area 20 capable of displaying information and/or audiovisual content etc. about the vehicle and/or about at least one device connected to the active display device 18, for example a portable electronic device. The active display 18 is formed, for example, by a touch screen, which may manipulate a screen about one or more functions of the vehicle or about the device to which the display 18 is connected. To this end, the display area 20 is covered, for example, with a capacitive film connected to the vehicle control device, or with any other component that can allow the user to interact with the display area 20 by touching and/or using a finger to approach the display area. Thus, a user may interact with the active display device 18 to control one or more functions of the vehicle, for example to control an air conditioning system and/or a sound system and/or to change the display of the display area 20. The active display device 18 may also be arranged to allow control of one or more functions of a device connected to the display device and/or to control or set parameters for audiovisual content displayed on the display device 18. The connection of devices, such as portable electronic devices like cell phones or "smartphones" etc., may be done in any known manner, by wireless connection or other means. Such portable electronics can be accommodated, for example, in the vicinity of the display device 18, for example in a form provided for this purpose in the support surface 17.
The active display 18 is mounted on an arm 22 that extends near the front edge of the trim 16 such that the display area 20 extends in a space that is visible to an occupant of the seat 1 extending on either side of the trim 16. Further, in this space, the touch function of operating the active display devices 18 is easily available to the hands of the occupant of the seat 1, because the hands thereof are positioned near the active display devices 18 when the occupant sits in one of the seat 1. The active display device 18 is particularly accessible when the occupant of the seat 1 rests his or her arms against the support surface 17 formed by the trim piece 16.
The movable display 18 is mounted on a free end portion 24 of the arm 22 extending toward the front of the trim piece 16 such that the movable display is movable rotationally relative to the arm 22 between a portrait position, in which the movable display 18 extends along the arm as shown in fig. 2 and 3, and at least one scenery position, in which the display extends generally perpendicular to the arm 22, as shown in fig. 1 and 4. The active display device 18 is, for example, substantially rectangular. Thus, in the portrait position, the length of the active display device 18 is aligned generally along the direction in which the arm 22 extends, and in the scenery position, the length of the active display device 18 extends generally perpendicular to the direction in which the arm 22 extends. Thus, the axis of rotation B of the mobile display device 18 is substantially perpendicular to the direction in which the arm 22 extends. In the scenery position, as shown on the left seat 1 of fig. 1, when the axis of rotation B of the movable display 18 and the fixed member extend near an edge of the movable display 18, the movable display 18 may extend above the seat 2 protruding from one side of the arm 22, for example. According to one embodiment, rotation in one direction brings the display device 18 over the seat 2 of one of the seats 1 extending on both sides of the trim, and rotation in the other direction brings the display device 18 over the seat 2 of the other seat 1, the orientation of the image displayed by the display device 18 automatically adapting to the position of the display device. Thus, according to this embodiment, the display device 18 may be placed in two different scene locations. In a variation, as shown in fig. 4, when the rotation axis B of the movable display 18 and the fixing member extend approximately in the center of the movable display 18, the display 18 extends on both sides of the arm 22.
According to one embodiment, the mobile display device 18 is removably secured to the arm 22 such that the mobile display device 18 may be detached from the arm 22 for handheld use by a user, as may be the case with portable electronic devices such as touch pads and the like.
The arm 22, and thus the movable display 18 carried by the arm 22, is also mounted for movement relative to the support surface 17 between a stowed position in which the viewable surface of the display area 20 is reduced or zero, and at least one deployed position in which the viewable surface of the display area 20 is enlarged, greater than the viewable surface of the display area 20 in the stowed position, as shown in figures 1 to 4, in which a plurality of different deployed positions are shown. By visible surface is meant the portion of the display area 20 that is visible from outside the trim piece 16, especially the portion that is visible to a person sitting on one of the seats 1 extending on both sides of the trim piece 16.
Thus, in the stowed position, the display area 20 is mostly obscured, i.e., the largest portion of the display area 20, and thus the entire display area, is not visible from outside the trim piece 16. According to one embodiment, in the stowed position, only the portion of the display area 20 extending near an edge of the active display device 18 is visible from outside the trim piece 16. The visible portion extends, for example, protruding from the support surface 17, so that a small amount of information, such as control icons for some functions, time information, etc., can be displayed.
According to one embodiment, the cover portion of the display area 20 extends within the trim piece 16. For example, in this embodiment, the covered portion of the display area 20 extends below the support surface 17, and is not visible from outside the trim piece. In particular, according to the embodiment shown in fig. 2 to 4, the covering portion of the display area 20 extends in a slot seat 26, said slot seat 26 extending in or under the trim piece 16, the slot seat having an opening which opens onto the front of the trim piece 16 in the vicinity of the bearing surface 17.
Arm 22 is mounted for sliding movement in seat 26 between a stowed position in which arm 22 extends primarily within seat 26 and a extreme deployed position in which arm 22 extends for the most part out of seat 26 from an opening to the front of trim piece 16. Thus, the arm 22 moves out of the slot 26 when moving from the stowed position to the deployed position.
In the stowed position, the active display device 18 is in the portrait position so as to be receivable in the bezel 26. In the extreme extended position, the active display 18 may be positioned in either a portrait or a scenery position, depending on the preference of the user and/or the type of content being displayed on the display area 20, as the active display 18 extends entirely outside of the bezel 26.
Between the stowed position and the extreme deployed position, the arm and active display device 18 may be placed in a plurality of intermediate deployed positions in which more or less of the viewable surface of the display area 20 of the active display device 18 is visible. Thus, in these deployed positions, the display device 18 protrudes more or less from the support surface 17 to change the viewable surface of the display area 20.
When the arm 22 is sufficiently extended from the bezel 26, the active display device 18 may be placed in a portrait or scenery position, or may be removed from the arm 22.
According to one embodiment, the arms 22 have a curved shape, defining a concave surface towards the backrest 4 of the seat 1 or seats when the arms 22 are in the deployed position. In other words, the concave surface faces toward the rear of the vehicle. Thus, sliding of the arm 22 relative to the trim piece 16 between the stowed and deployed positions follows a deployment path that extends along a curve, thereby providing a pleasing aesthetic appearance to the deployment movement of the mobile display device 18. In this case, the axis of rotation B of the mobile display device 18 is substantially perpendicular to the tangent of the deployment path. Furthermore, when the arm 22 is in the extreme deployed position as shown in fig. 1 and 4, the curved shape of the arm 22 allows the mobile display 18 to be brought towards the backrest 4 of the seat 1 extending on both sides of the trim 16, thereby bringing the mobile display 18 close to the occupant of the seat 1 to increase the visibility and accessibility of the display area 20. In particular, as shown in fig. 1 and 4, in the extreme deployed position, the display area 20 extends, for example, in the view of an occupant of one of the seats when the seat back 4 is reclined, without the occupant having to look down and/or tilt the head.
As an example, the active display device 18 may employ at least the following positions:
a stowed position in which the display area 20 of the active display device 18 is completely covered,
a first unfolded position in which only the upper part of the display area 20 is visible, as previously described, and
an extreme extended position in which the entire display area 20 is visible, in which the display device 18 can be rotated, as previously described.
The size of the information displayed on the display area 20 may be automatically adapted to the visible surface of the display area 20, for example, depending on where the active display device 18 is located.
The display provided by the active display device 18 is thus adjustable, and may be adapted according to the type of information to be displayed and/or according to the position of the seat, as will be described later.
According to one embodiment, the trim piece 16 also has a fixed display device 28 defining a fixed display area 30. The fixed display device 28 extends in a protruding manner relative to the support surface 17, so that the fixed display area 30 is always visible from outside the trim piece 16. According to the embodiment shown in the drawings, the fixed display means 28 extend proud of the front edge of the support surface 17 to cover the opening of the socket 26. In this case, the arm 22 and the movable display 18 slide along the lower surface of the fixed display 28 opposite the fixed display area 30. Thus, when the active display device 18 is in the stowed position, at least a portion of the active display area 20 of the active display device 18 is covered by the fixed display device 28. According to one embodiment, in the stowed position, the active display area 20 is completely obscured by the fixed display device 28, such that in the stowed position, only the fixed display area 30 is visible from outside the seat 1.
The fixed display area 30 is used, for example, for displaying information that is always visible in the vehicle cabin, such as information of time, temperature, etc. Advantageously, the stationary display device 30 is formed by a touch screen such that the stationary display device 30 may be used to control some functions of the vehicle or connected components, as previously described with reference to the active display device 18. According to one particular embodiment, the stationary display device 28 may be used to control movement of the movable display device 18 between the stowed position and the deployed position.
According to one embodiment shown in fig. 2 to 4, the seat 1 also has a container 32 defining a storage space extending below the support surface 17. The container 32 is movable relative to the support surface, for example in a longitudinal direction, between a closed position, in which the storage space is closed by the support surface 17, as shown in fig. 2 and 3, and at least one open position, in which at least a portion of the container 32 is separated from the support surface 17, and the storage space is available, as shown in fig. 4. By usable it is meant that the occupant of the seat or another occupant of the vehicle can use the storage space, for example after the curtain has been opened, as shown.
In fig. 4, the container 32 has been moved to an open position in which the container 32 extends toward the front of the trim 16. In another open position, the container 32 may extend toward the rear of the trim piece 16 so that a passenger seated in another seat positioned behind the trim piece 16 can use the container.
According to one embodiment, the movement of the active display device 18 may be combined with the movement of the seat 1, so that the position of the active display device 18 is automatically adapted to the position of the seat 1, or so that the active display device 18 is automatically placed in a certain position under certain conditions of use of the vehicle. Thus, movement of the active display device 18 may be combined with movement of the seat 2 and/or backrest 4 of the seat 1 as the position and/or orientation of the seat 2 and/or backrest 4 changes.
As an example, it may be provided that the active display device 18 is placed in a extreme deployed position when the seat 1 is in an extended position, in which the angle formed between the axis of the backrest 4 and the axis of the seat 2 is great, the extended position corresponding to the extended position of the seat occupant. Thus, in this position, the active display area 20 is visible to the seat occupant without being in an uncomfortable position.
According to a particularly advantageous embodiment, the active display device 18 is arranged for automatically switching to the stowed position when the seat 1 is pivoted about the axis a. Thus, when the seat is pivoted, for example, to face the passengers towards each other, the passengers are prevented from touching the active display device 18. Also, the active display device may be arranged for automatically switching to the stowed position when a crash is detected, such that the active display device 18 does not form a hard obstacle in the vehicle cabin that could easily injure the occupant. It may also be provided that the active display device 18 near the driver's seat is placed in a stowed position during the manual driving phase of the vehicle so that the active display area 20 is not distracted from the driver during driving of the vehicle. The movement control of the seat 1 may be provided on the aforementioned stationary display device 28, for example.
According to one embodiment, the trim piece 16 is movable in the vehicle cabin, for example, to bring the trim piece near or away from the front of the vehicle, depending on the occupant desiring to use the display device 18. Thus, the trim 16 may be movable, for example, between a forward position in which the trim 16 extends between the front seats of the vehicle and a rearward position in which the trim 16 extends between the rear seats of the vehicle.
The trim piece 16 described above may be humane, aesthetically pleasing, and adjustably integrated with the display device.
